SOL National Conference
Pennsbury 10, Pennridge 7
The Falcons made their long road trip to Pennridge worth their while, putting themselves back in the hunt for at least a share of the conference crown with a win over a Lady Rams squad that was undefeated in league play.
“We knew today was a big game,” Pennsbury coach Marguerite Piccolo said. “Pennridge has been having a great season and was undefeated in our league.
“We were in their boat last year, and we had nothing to lose today. The girls came out on fire and connected all over the field.”
The Falcons erupted for nine first-half goals, stunning the Rams by opening up a 9-3 halftime lead.
“At the end of one quarter, it was 7-1,” Piccolo said. “Our attack played so beautifully together, connecting on passes and finding the net.
“We knew we still had a lot of time left in the game, and Pennridge has excellent players.”
The Rams battled back, outscoring their visitors 4-1 in the second half, but the Falcons would not be denied.
“They were able to get on the eight quite a few times, and the defense was able to get a stick to the ball, and Kema (Brown) came up with some huge saves,” Piccolo said. “Our defense played extremely well as a unit.”
The Falcons coach went on to credit the play of defenders Chelsea Todd, Annie Cimo, Abby McCole and Grey Simon.
Mia Popovich led the attack with four goals while Grace Holmes had two goals and one assist. She also dominated play in the circle.
“Grace played awesome – she was poised, stayed disciplined and came up with 10 draw controls,” Piccolo said. “Mia was once again on fire and led the team very well. She had four draw controls and came out of her shell tonight.”
Rylie Borgman and Sasha Dobos both contributed one goal and two assists, and contributing one goal each were Abby Iacona and Angelina Kenney.
Kema Brown had 11 saves in a strong outing in goal for the Falcons.
For the Rams, Kendall Posey, Kate Unzicker, Jordan Feder, Ava Fantaskey, Taylor Burkett and Gianna Leuthe each had one goal. Unzicker and Aubrey Bailey each had two caused turnovers and one ground ball.

(Game summary submitted by CR North lacrosse)
In a dramatic turn of events, CR North engineered a remarkable comeback to clinch a nail-biting overtime victory against Central Bucks South, edging past their opponents with a final score of 7-6 in a captivating
lacrosse showdown.
Leading the charge for CR North was senior captain Liza McBride, whose stellar performance on both ends of the field proved instrumental in securing the win. McBride showcased her scoring prowess with two crucial goals while also making her presence felt in the ground ball and draw control departments, tallying an impressive two of each. Her leadership and composure under pressure served as a guiding light for her teammates, inspiring them to rise to the occasion when it mattered most.
Freshman phenom Ellie Carney also made her mark on the game with a standout performance that belied her youth. Carney’s two-goal effort including the game winning goal, coupled with an assist and a crucial draw control, showcased her immense talent and poise under pressure.
Senior captains Julie Ondria and Maddy Mela provided valuable contributions of their own, with Ondria notching two goals one, was the 100th goal in her career and two ground balls while Mela recorded a pivotal assist to help propel CR North to victory.
Sophomore Cat McBride rounded out CR North’s impressive performance with a goal of her own, accompanied by an outstanding display with four ground balls and six draw controls.
Council Rock North (10-3, 7-2 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East for Wednesday’s league finale, and Central Bucks South (6-10, 4-5) will host Central Bucks West for Wednesday’s Senior Night contest at 7 p.m.

Council Rock North goalie Lucy Carney surpassed the 300-save mark in CR North’s game against Pennridge.

North Penn 12, Souderton 10
The Knights and Indians were deadlocked 6-6 at halftime, but the Knights – who trailed by one heading into the final quarter – closed out the game with a 4-1 burst to earn the big win.
Not a bad way for the Knights to celebrate Senior Night.
“We have 15 seniors, and we were passionate about ensuring that all of them found quality, meaningful minutes in this game,” coach Ken Rodoff said. “I’m extremely proud of this group of seniors as many have had limited game minutes during the season, yet they have constantly led by example at every practice both in their work ethic and their team-centered approach.”
The Knights trailed 9-8 heading into the final quarter.
“Coming out of halftime we were committed to stout defense, denying cutters and putting Morgan Rodoff on Tatum Andrews,” said Rodoff. “Addie Yost, Avery Farina, and Tatum Andrews are all strong players on Souderton, each with the confidence and strength to shoot from anywhere. We talked about denying their ability to turn and shoot and decided to face guard Tatum.”
Quinn Rodoff’s five-goal effort led the Knights’ attack. She also had four draw controls.
“On the offensive end, Quinn had herself a night,” Rodoff said. “She was committed to keeping her feet moving, finding lanes to drive, and used her shiftiness to find shooting lanes.”
Maddie Brown added a hat trick and four draw controls, and Katie Harkins had one goal and five draw controls. Adding one goal each were Morgan Rodoff, Sara Warenius and Grace McGeehan.
“Grace McGeehan, Katie Harkins, Maddie Brown, and Steph Gibson played with confidence in the final two minutes, keeping possession for the better part of those final two minutes,” Rodoff said. “When Souderton extended late, they caused a turnover, but Morgan Rodoff found the ball in the 8M and was able to convert with 10 seconds left to ensure the win.”
In the opening half, Victoria Rossi was credited with nine saves in goal for the Knights, including her career 200th save, and Abby Cataldi recorded seven saves in the second half.
“Rossi and Cataldi, both seniors, each played with confidence, especially with their clears,” Rodoff said. “Their confidence definitely inspired the rest of the team.”
Rodoff acknowledged the efforts of several other players in the win, including Morgan Rodoff, who kept Edwards off the scoreboard in the second half.
“I know she’s my daughter, but Morgan did a fantastic job at defending stick to stick, denying cuts, and being, in the best way possible, a tenacious pest,” Rodoff said. “Ella Juska, Allyra Palmer, and Laura Albert have been, all season, our leaders on the defense. They play every minute, and they never tire, they never lose faith, and they inspire everyone to play at their best, regardless of score.”
North Penn (4-13, 4-5 SOL) will travel to Pennsbury for Wednesday’s regular season finale. Souderton (6-10, 0-9) will host Neshaminy on Wednesday and New Hope-Solebury in a non-league game Friday.

Paige Keller had a game to remember
The East senior scored eight goals in a standout offensive performance. She also led the defense with four caused turnovers and had six draw controls.
“Paige Keller had herself a day,” East coach Maggie Stella said. “With it being our last week of regular season, I told the girls to leave no regrets, and I don’t think Keller will have any as a senior.”
Natalie Berndt added a hat trick as well as two draw controls while Emma Weisel had one goal and two assists to go along with one caused turnover. Paige Dougherty had one goal and a team-high seven draw controls. Cece Hayes had one assist, three draw controls and one caused turnover.
Adding one assist for the Patriots was Amanda Ries. Nicolette Satterfield had two caused turnovers, and Bella DeHaven had one.
“My attacking unit was making adjustments mid-game,” Stella said. “CR South has an aggressive defense, and we worked on maintaining our composure and moving the ball. Emma Weisel has really become a great leader on attack with her communication. My midfielders also did a great job winning the draws. Paige Dougherty and Cece Hayes were aggressive on the ground balls. Natalie Berndt was a beast on the fast break – she knew exactly where to be to get a goal today.
“My defense, as always, has improved more and more every game. Nicolette Satterfield is one of the hardest working players I have ever coached. She wants the best for her teammates, and herself and is constantly raising the level of play. Abby DiAmico has been awesome in net. She is constantly working on her craft and bettering herself.
DiAmico was credited with three saves in goal
“I couldn’t be prouder of this amazing team win,” Stella said. “We will celebrate tonight, but we are looking forward to the next Council Rock game on Wednesday.”
Central Bucks East (8-7, 5-4 SOL) will host Council Rock North for Wednesday’s league finale, and Council Rock South (9-6, 5-4) will host Villa Joseph Marie for a non-league game on Tuesday.

In a contest with title implications, it was the Flying Cardinals with an inspired second half performance, rallying to defeat the Golden Bears, who took a 5-4 lead into halftime.
Both teams entered Monday’s game with just one loss in league play. The win keeps UD at the top of the standings with Springfield Twp with one league game remaining for both squads.
“It was a back-and-forth game until the last few minutes,” UD coach Dee Cross said. We came out really tight and had some unforced errors that we had to figure out. We knew Upper Moreland had a tough zone that we had to solve. Every one of our shots was contested and the girls felt the pressure. Their goalie, Addi Hurley, had some great saves and was outstanding all game.”
The two teams were deadlocked 5-5 after three quarters with UD freshman Bridget DiMartile scoring the only goal with 9:15 remaining in the quarter.
“It was definitely a defensive battle the whole game,” Cross said. “We just kept turning the ball over, but they were always putting pressure on us. We had to work for everything, every ground ball, which we knew.”
That 5-5 score stood until 6:30 remained in regulation when Anna DiMartile scored the go-ahead goal that sparked a 3-0 UD run. Back-to-back goals by Paige Dinkel in a span of 63 seconds – both with Ava Shohen assists – put the Cardinals on top 8-5 with three minutes remaining. Olivia Meakim made it a two-goal game with 1:30 remaining in regulation, but UM would get no closer.
“They won the overall draw control battle 10-8, but the difference in the fourth quarter was we were able to get possession and then we tried to pull it out and work the ball around,” Cross said. “They came out on us, and then we were able to go to goal. It opened up their zone.”
Bridget DiMartile led the Cardinals with three goals, two assists, three draw controls and one caused turnover. Anna DiMartile had three goals, one assist, five draw controls and three caused turnovers. Dinkel finished with two goals and one assist, and Stohen had four assists and two caused turnovers. UD goal Erin Darcy recorded six saves in the win.
Cross lauded the play of her defense, which allowed just one goal in the entire second half to keep the Cardinals in the game.
“Our defense of Abby O’Meara, Sophia Sirianni, Olivia Broome and Maeve Hogan worked as a unit with the middies, Anna DiMartile, Bridget DiMartile and Paige Dinkel,” Cross said.
“They were able to make some key stops to help us regain possession down the stretch.
“Ava Shohen had four assists in the game, none being bigger than the last two to help give us a lead that we were able to hold in the last four minutes. Erin Darcy played one of her best games in goal today. She got better and more confident as the game went on, and she made some point-blank saves in the final minutes. It was a total team win today.”
For the Golden Bears, Annalise Messina had three goals, one assist, six draw controls and four caused turnovers. Olivia Meakim added two goals, and Willow Taylor had one goal, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. UM goalie Addi Hurley recorded 10 saves.
“It was a great game overall – a defensive battle,” UM coach Kim Frantz said. “Upper Dublin went ahead with a 2-0 lead in the beginning of the game. We were able to battle back and gain the lead 5-4 going into the half.
“The score in the third quarter felt like it was 5-5 forever after UD scored the tying goal in minute nine. UD went on a run in the fourth quarter scoring three goals to just one of ours to win the game.
“Their goalie had a really great second half. Super proud of our defense today. They really worked together and played as a unit. Addi Hurley had some huge saves today. Avery Adamski had an outstanding game on defense. She was a key to stopping fast breaks and a leader for our defense to stick together, and she had 3 caused turnovers on defense. I’m proud of how we played today – we fought until the last minute.”
Upper Dublin (15-2, 9-1 SOL) will travel to Cheltenham Wednesday. A win will clinch at least a share of the conference crown. Upper Moreland 14-3, 9-2) will host William Tennent in its league finale Wednesday.
