CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 40, NESHAMINY 8
There are good starts, and then there’s CB West’s explosive start in Saturday afternoon’s conference game against Neshaminy that saw the Bucks score touchdowns on two of their first three touches of the game.
Both touchdowns featured Braylen Cape – the first came after a 16-yard run by Louie Cipollo that was followed by Cape taking it to the house with a 55-yard touchdown run down sideline.
The second was more of the same and came after the Bucks delivered a big defensive stop of the ‘Skins on a fourth-and-one at the Neshaminy 45. On the very next play, Cape raced 43 yards down the same sideline for a TD and an early 14-0 advantage.
And the Bucks were just getting started.
After a three-and-out, the Bucks drove 45 yards for a touchdown when quarterback Josh George – on his first pass of the game – connected with Owen Pudlo on a 20-yard touchdown pass that gave the Bucks a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
Another defensive stop by the Bucks set the stage for a three-play touchdown drive that included a 26-yard Miletto run and – after George connected with Cipollo for seven yards – Miletto took it in from the nine for a 27-0 advantage.
West’s next touchdown drive was highlighted by a 63-yard run by Miletto and was capped when junior Finn Riley scored on a nine-yard TD run.
The Bucks’ final touchdown came with 2:19 remaining in the first half after they took over at the Neshaminy 42 and needed just four plays to score their fifth rushing TD of the half – this one on a three-yard run by Miletto, who had carries of 16 and 29 yards on the drive. The Bucks took a 40-0 lead into halftime, putting the mercy rule into effect for the second half.
Neshaminy’s lone score of the game came in the closing minutes of the game when Bradley Dalessandro connected with Colson Hill on a 10-yard touchdown strike. The successful two-point play by Dan McGarrity accounted for the game’s final points.
Up next: Central Bucks West will be on the road at Pennsbury Friday, and Neshaminy will travel to Pennridge Friday.

PENNRIDGE 42, ABINGTON 7
There’s nothing quite like a good start. Especially when your game was postponed 18 hours earlier and you unexpectedly find yourself playing on a Saturday afternoon.
Mike Ferguson took care of that not-so-little matter for the visiting Rams, taking the opening kickoff 92 yards to the house for a touchdown and a lead the Rams would not lose. Bradley Dornon connected with Colby O’Connor on the two-point conversion, and the Rams had an 8-0 advantage before fans had settled in their seats.
“I thought that set the tone,” Pennridge coach Kyle Beller said. “It was a cool, windy day, and I thought it was a nice way to jumpstart things, give the kids some energy.”
The Rams rode that energy to a 21-point first quarter. After the Rams delivered a stop on the Ghosts’ opening possession, Trevor Picciotti capped a 37-yard drive with a 22-yard touchdown run, giving the Rams a 15-0 lead.
After forcing an Abington punt, the Rams capitalized on another short field, this time going 34 yards for a touchdown when quarterback Aiden Tetkowski scored on a nine-yard run.
The Rams added a score in the second quarter when Picciotti scored his second TD of the day – this one on a 59-yard run that capped an 80-yard drive and sent the Rams into halftime with a 27-0 lead.
Abington received the kickoff to open the second half and turned the ball over on downs at their own 44. Seven plays later, Ronin Loch scored on a 20-yard run. A Michael Ferguson run on the successful two-point play gave the Rams and 35-0 lead.
“Ronan came in and played some quarterback,” Beller said. “I thought he played well there.”
Abington broke up the Rams’ shutout bid when Jason Raysor scored on a 49-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. Pennridge answered with a score of its own when Blake Borek raced 49 yards for a touchdown and the 42-7 final.
Picciotti led the Rams with 123 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. Borek added 56 yards and a touchdown on four carries.
“I thought the offensive line did a really nice job opening up holes for Trevor,” Beller said. “Trevor ran really hard and had 120-some yards again.
“I thought the defense played well. We bend a little, but we didn’t break. There were some nice things we did there. A bunch of kids got to play. Blake Borek got a touchdown at the end on a nice run. That kid has been a great-looking scout team player for the whole year, so it was nice to see him get one in there. Overall, the kids went down and did what they needed to do and got the job done.’
Up next: Pennridge will host Neshaminy on Friday, and Abington will host Central Bucks East on Friday.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 42, BENSALEM 7
The Owls celebrated Senior Night prior to Saturday night’s game, but the game belonged to the visiting Golden Hawks, who opened up a 21-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
“After last week, I knew we had a little momentum, and I was just hoping that the stuff with the weather wouldn’t throw that off, and we didn’t allow it to,” said Rock South coach CJ Szydlik, whose team was coming off a 42-7 win over Upper Dublin. “We did a really good job of staying focused and handling what we needed to handle.”
Jerry Rogers got things started with a touchdown run, and then Logan Smith hauled in a touchdown pass from quarterback Joey Saracino, who filled in behind center with US Naval Academy commit Cannon Benzio sidelined.
“Joey Saracino’s a sophomore who stepped into a pretty big role tonight, and he threw two touchdown passes,” said Szydlik.
Then it was the defense’s turn to come up with a big play, and DJ Andrzejewski delivered, returning an interception 40 yards for a touchdown that made it a three-score game after one quarter.
Saracino connected with Logan for the duo’s second TD of the game, and another big play by the defense – this time a Ryan Kruszczynski fumble recovery returned 40 yards for a touchdown – sent the Golden Hawks into halftime with a 35-0 lead.
Brody Walker’s TD run in the third quarter closed out the scoring for the Hawks. The Owls got on the scoreboard with a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The Golden Hawks showed no ill effects playing the game 23 hours later than originally scheduled.
“A lot of people were stuck in thunderstorms and delays and everything yesterday,” Szydlik said. “I’m just glad the kids did the right things – locked in and actually played the game the right way, and we weren’t distracted.
“We knew some things were going to happen – it’s Senior Night for them, and you’re getting off the field a little earlier. Being perfectly honest, Bensalem’s field was in fantastic condition. They did a great job making sure it was ready to go. It was a nice night to play football.”
Up next: Council Rock will host Plymouth Whitemarsh in a key conference battle Friday, and Bensalem will be on the road at Souderton.
