Central Bucks South coach Keli Chioffe: “It wasn’t easy. School rivalries are always tough games to play. A lot of players know each other, which can make it a bit awkward. East has a really strong defense, and we had to figure out how to get in behind them. Once our offense started to rattle them, we were able to get into their circle. We are really starting to find each other on the field and finding space to run onto the ball.”
—Props: “Great play by the midfield today (Avery Tyler, Tessa Walls, Jenna Butler, and Ella Marchesi) sending the ball up to the forwards (Kaeli VanDerSluis, Carrie Williams, Amy Hazell, and Addy Edwards), who got things moving. We will continue to practice hard and prepare for some tough opponents next week.”Central Bucks East coach Emma Rosenthal: “We’re taking today’s loss as a huge learning opportunity. It’s a long season, and South definitely exposed some weak points that we need to fix.”
Up next: The Titans will visit North Penn at 3:30 Tuesday, while East will travel to Pennridge for a 7 pm Tuesday game under the lights.

Central Bucks West coach Lori Ierubino: “Our second league game and our second home game. We were relentless in our attack, but North Penn was very successful in keeping us from finding the back of the cage. Their goalie was spectacular. Our team played a nice game of using the whole field and we had many good passing combinations. Each of our goals were a result of a total team effort and Laney Hall for finding a way to finish.”
North Penn coach Shannon McCracken: “It was a fast-paced game and I’m proud of how our young team responded. We played a very talented CB West team very tough with a tremendous effort from GK Kiley Moister (28 saves) and defensive unit Tallie Smink (1 defensive save), Sofie Arnaiz and Emma Hoffman. Midfielders Kylie Barwis and Devon Crowley did a great job of containing the quick transition of West’s attack. Moister had a fantastic day in goal.”

At this point in the season, we’re still experimenting with our lineup and formation. We have some tough games coming up in the next week or two, so I’m hopeful we can continue to improve as a unit.”
Pennridge coach Chris Chookagian: “Souderton came out firing and put the foot on the gas early. They are a quick team and played a full 60 minutes. This week was a long week for us with three games and missing some key players to injury tonight. The team is ready to bounce back next week and continue deeper into our league competition schedule.”

Quinn Burns (PW) from Emily Dobrowolski 5:44
Plymouth Whitemarch coach Charise Halteman: “Today’s game was an important win for the growth of our team. We lost two central defenders from last season, and we’ve been working hard to teach the positions and incorporate new faces. It was a tough learning curve opening our season with three opponents who are often ranked at the top of the district. I thought our team took a step forward today playing more in sync. They played with heart and a fighting spirit today. It was great to open league play with a hard-fought win, as it is significant progress toward achieving our team goals.”
—The game: “Quakertown scored early in the first quarter, but we battled back to pull out our first win of the season. Our defense was able to limit scoring opportunities in the second half and put pressure of their own on Quakertown’s defense.
“The hard work paid off as Gracie Kerns received a pass from Katie Guarino and maneuvered around the GK to score PW’s first goal with 7:44 remaining in the third quarter and tie the game.”
—The OT game-winner: “Quinn Burns received a pass from Emily Dobrowolski and scored with 5:44 remaining on a hard shot from the left side of the circle that snuck past the goalkeeper’s nearside.”
—Props: “I thought senior Emily Dobrowolski; juniors Gracie Kerns and Katie Guarino; and sophomore Quinn Burns all made significant contributions and hustle plays.”
Quakertown coach Peach Draper: “We got off to an early lead again with a goal from Paige Longacre assisted by Emma Stalletti. Our defense was solid, and the game went into overtime. We had chances in OT but just couldn’t finish. It was a hard-fought game by both teams.”
Up next: The Colonials look to continue their winning ways when they host Wissahickon at 3:30 pm Tuesday. Quakertown will host Hatboro-Horsham at 3:30 pm Tuesday.

I thought we did a really good job of possessing the ball, we had really nice passing combinations, we did a good job of moving the ball, switching fields. We protected the ball, we didn’t panic. We did a really good job backing each other up. We played poised and controlled. It was really good team win. Everybody was ready, everybody was excited.”
