Junior Zachary Crim (Hatboro-Horsham) was named to the Chestnut Hill Athletics Academic Honor Roll. Student-athletes named to the honor roll achieved a 3.5 grade point average or better during the 2014 fall semester.

Junior guard Ryan Arcidiacono (Souderton) scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting in No. 8 Villanova’s 81-64 win over DePaul on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 90-72 win over No. 24 St. John’s at Madison Square Garden, Arcidiacono had a stellar floor game with 10 assists and zero turnovers.
Temple junior forward Jaylen Bond (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after strong performances in a 2-0 week for the
Owls. Bond averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game in wins over UConn and UCF. After notching seven points and six boards in an overtime win at UConn, the defending national champion, Bond followed up with a career-best 21 points and game-high 14 rebounds as the Owls handled UCF. For his efforts, Bond was also named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Bond recorded his third consecutive double-double with a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with 16 points in Temple’s 63-56 loss to Tulsa on Saturday. The loss snapped a six-game Temple winning streak. In Wednesday’s 64-56 road win at Tulane, Bond recorded a double-double with a game-high 11 rebounds to go with 10 points.
Sophomore Arron Goodman (Council Rock North) scored a team-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds in Gwynedd Mercy’s 89-81 loss to Immaculata on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 80-58 win over Baptist Bible, Goodman led all scorers with 23 points while adding seven rebounds.
Washington College junior Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) was named the Shoreman of the Week for the week ending Jan. 4. Knox was named to the all-tournament team at the Tampa Bay Shootout held Dec. 29 and 30. He opened the tournament with a 24-point, 15-rebound performance in a 73-63 loss to DePauw. The 15 rebounds were a career high. He added 10 points and seven rebounds in a 69-52 loss to Hobart the next day.
Knox scored a game and career-high 34 points and also collected 11 rebounds in Washington College’s 88-80
loss to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Teammate Sean Brooks (North Penn) added seven points. In Wednesday’s 88-81 loss to Dickinson, Knox finished with a double-double with 16 points and a game-best 13 rebounds.
Josh Johnson (Norristown) scored a season-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting in Kutztown’s 100-98 overtime loss to Lock Haven on Saturday. He also had seven rebounds, two steals and a block. In last Sunday’s 53-43 win over Mercyhurst, Johnson notched his fourth double-double with game-highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 8-for-9 from the field and kept himself on the floor by staying out of foul trouble on the low block. His 36 minutes played were his most since Dec. 6 versus Millersville.
Anthony McKie (Plymouth Whitemarsh) buried a pair of three-pointers in Bloomsburg’s 74-71 win over West Chester on Saturday.
Senior guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 15 points and tied East Stroudsburg’s career record for three-pointers in a 107-46 win over Penn State-Lehigh on Saturday. Grant tied the career three-point record (236) held by Andy Heimbach, who started at guard for the Warriors from 2006-10. Grant broke Heimbach’s single-season record for three’s last year, making 88 to surpass Heimbach’s mark of 76 set during the 2009-10 season. In Wednesday’s 72-63 loss to California (Pa.), Grant scored eight points. In last Sunday’s 92-75 win over Seton Hill, Grant had six points and seven assists.
Evan Dunn (Central Bucks West) scored 10 points in Albright’s 77-67 loss to Messiah on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 81-78 overtime loss to Lycoming, Dunn had five points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.
Senior Travis Bryan (Hatboro-Horsham) scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed five rebounds in DeSales University’s 81-75 win over Arcardia on Wednesday. His putback with 25 seconds remaining gave DeSales a 79-75 advantage. Freshman Aaron Burton (Cheltenham) scored 12 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Wes Brooks (North Penn) scored a season-high 17 points in McDaniel’s 77-73 overtime win over DeSales in the title game of the DeSales Holiday Tournament on Sunday. He also earned a spot on the all-tournament team. In Saturday’s 78-71 win over Haverford, Brooks had 10 points.
Senior Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored a career-high 19 points and registered seven assists as No. 16 Randolph-Macon defeated Guilford 72-54 in ODAC action Saturday afternoon for its eighth straight victory. Badger nailed five three-pointers, also a career best. He was 7-for-9 from the floor and 5-for-7 from behind the arc. Randolph-Macon buried a season-high 15 three-pointers, going 15-for-32 from behind the arc (.469). In Wednesday’s 63-45 win over Bridgewater (Va.), Badger had six assists to go along with six points and four rebounds.
Senior Sam Pygatt (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 12 points in Shippensburg’s 75-71 win over Mansfield on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 73-72 win at Clarion, Pygatt had four points, five rebounds and three assists.
Junior forward Ryan O’Neil (Central Bucks East) netted a career-high 11 points in Moravian’s 72-66 loss to Elizabethtown on Saturday. In Thursday’s 91-78 loss to Drew University, O’Neil had nine points and four rebounds.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Junior Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) became the newest member of the 1,000-point club in Shippensburg’s 65-40 win over Clarion on Wednesday night. The North Penn grad scored a game-high 23 points and has now scored 1,002 points over the course of 69 games, averaging 14.5 points per game. She finished Wednesday’s game shooting 9-of-16 from the field, making 5-of-8 at the free throw line while grabbing five rebounds. Her 16 points at halftime marked the third time this season she has scored 15 or more points in the first half. Knauer was honored before Saturday’s 90-78 win over Mansfield. She finished Saturday’s game with 10 points and three rebounds.
Freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton) recorded a career high 26 points and also had four rebounds in Widener’s 75-68 win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday. She shot 10-of-16 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point range. Gallagher added one steal and one assist in Widener’s fourth straight victory. In Saturday’s 71-58 loss to Hood, Gallagher had 10 points and three rebounds.
Senior Shayla Felder (Cheltenham) had 12 points, which included a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line, as well as three assists in Chestnut Hill’s 79-69 win over Georgian Court on Saturday.
Senior center Emily Leer (Abington) scored 17 points in Villanova’s 65-61 win over Creighton on Friday. The Abington grad was 8-of-10 from the field. In last Sunday’s 68-48 win over Marquette, Leer had seven points.
Junior forward Carley Kendall (Souderton) scored a career-high 17 points and also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds in Washington College’s 65-47 win over Dickinson on Wednesday. In Saturday’s 69-63 overtime loss to Franklin & Marshall, Kendall had 12 points and a career-best 16 rebounds.
Ciara ‘CC’ Andrews (Cheltenham) scored 17 points in St. Joseph’s 83-69 loss to George Washington on Wednesday.
Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) scored 13 points in No. 22/24 Princeton’s 83-54 win over the University of Penn on Saturday. She was 6-of-11 from the floor and also pulled down six rebounds.
Senior Natasha Matthews (Norristown) scored 14 points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 64-54 win over King’s College on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 83-52 win over Notre Dame (Md.), Matthews had 10 points. In last Sunday’s 68-54 win over Trinity in the title game of the 2015 Gwynedd Mercy Holiday Tournament, Matthews recorded a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Jess Tennett (Pennridge) scored four points in Cabrini’s 103-33 win over Cairn University on Saturday.
Carly Kovin (Pennsbury) had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in Neumann University’s 87-21 win over Cairn on Wednesday.
Sophomore Lauren Crisler (North Penn) scored 15 points and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds to lead American University to a 62-50 win over Loyola Maryland on Wednesday.
Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) turned in an impressive double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds in Alvernia’s 60-56 loss to Hood on Wednesday.
Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) scored 12 points in Cairn University’s 103-33 loss to Cabrini on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 87-21 loss to Neumann, Eppolito pulled down eight rebounds to go along with three points. In Monday’s 72-38 loss to Cedar Crest College, Eppolito scored nine points.

Rick Sutton (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:38.73) and also was part of the second place 400 free relay (3:05.71) in Albright’s 139-122 win over Misericordia University on Saturday . Sutton finished first in the 500 freestyle (4:52.60) and second in the 200 freestyle (1:48.37). Teammate Tim Resch (Springfield) was part of the fourth place 200 medley relay team (1:51.5). He finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.89), third in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.03) and sixth in the 50 free (23.94).
Ben Mancini (Springfield) finished first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:14.68 in Washington & Jefferson’s 164-123 loss to Grove City on Saturday.
Eric Jenson (Upper Dublin) finished first in the 100 backstroke and third in the 100 freestyle in the University of Buffalo’s 140.5-81.5 win over Niagara on Saturday.
Senior Harris Bergman (Pennsbury) took first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 331.05 and took second on the three-meter with a score of 355.43 in Pitt’s 176-124 win over West Virginia on Saturday.
Senior RJ Phiambolis (Pennridge) finished second in both the 200 free (1:51.06) and the 500 freestyle (5:04.67) in Shippensburg’s 109-90 win over Edinboro on Friday. He also was part of the second place 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:30.16.

Muller was part of Albright’s second place 400 free relay (3:54.36). Teammate Jessie Mabone (William Tennent) finished fifth in the 100 free with a time of 1:23.26.

St. Joseph senior Matthew McGarvey (Central Bucks West) was part of the third place 4×4 relay at the unscored Penn State Relays at Penn State University’s Ashenfelter III Indoor Track on Saturday. The group set St. Joe’s fastest 4×4 of the season en route to the IC4A qualification.

WRESTLING
Joe Stolfi (Souderton) recorded a pin in No. 25 Bucknell’s 25-12 win over No. 17 Rider on Saturday at the Virginia Duals. The win helped the Bison finish the two-day event with a 2-2 record as they placed third in the Silver bracket and seventh overall in the 12-team field. Stolfi, who is ranked 18th nationally at 285, pinned Greg Velasco in 6:40. It was his 11th consecutive win and his 12th fall of the year. He now has 44 career pins, tying him with Bobby Ferraro for third place on the program’s all-time list. In Friday’s 33-6 win over Nebraska Kearney, Stolfi pinned Ivan DeLeon in 2:49. In Bucknell’s 27-10 loss to No. 24 ODU, Stolfi earned a 10-2 major decision over Matt Tourdot. In Bucknell’s 19-15 loss to West Virginia Friday, Stolfi earned a 3-2 decision over Anthony Vizcarrondo.
Elizabethtown’s Philip Torresani (Hatboro-Horsham) earned a 5-3 decision over Oneonta’s Dominic DeGraba at 125 pounds in Saturday’s North/South Duals at Ursinus College.
Richard Jasinski (Pennridge ) was a perfect 4-0 at 157 for Ursinus College at the North/South Duals on Saturday. Ursinus was 4-0. He earned a 10-2 major decision over King’s Howard Kilpatrick and won by a fall in 4:43 over Elizabethtown’s Jordan Moser. Jaskinski defeated WPI’s Torin Zonfrelli by a fall in 3:55 and earned a 13-3 major decision over Oneonta State’s Nocholas Heck.
Matt Martoccio (Council Rock South) earned a 10-4 decision over Christian Baughman at 157 in No. 12 Kutztown’s 33-12 loss to Lake Erie College at the Cliff Kean/National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals on Friday. He also notched a 19-5 major decision over Alderson-Broaddus’ Jonathan Sigley.
