MEN’S BASKETBALL
Jordan Reed (Wissahickon) scored 16 points in Tennessee State’s 87-85 loss to Morehead State on Saturday.
Sophomore guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored a career-high 33 points including a driving layup to force overtime in Moravian’s 89-84 overtime loss to The Catholic University of America on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 81-74 win over Drew University, Murray had 11 points and also contributed three rebounds and two assists.
Freshman John Ryan (William Tennent) scored a team-high 14 points in Penn State Abington’s 81-65 loss to Lancaster Bible on Saturday. In Thursday’s 76-66 loss to Gallaudet, Ryan earned his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds. In Tuesday’s 86-81 loss to Wilson, Ryan had 20 points, 14 in the first half.
Senior Ryan Charity (Pennsbury) had eight points and four assists in Cabrini’s 101-93 win at Keystone College on Saturday.
Sophomore Evan Slone (Souderton) scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor in Arcadia’s 83-82 loss to Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
Freshman Tracy Simsick (Souderton) scored four points in DeSales University’s 69-53 win over Manhattanville College on Wednesday.
Josh McWilliams (Council Rock North) finished with 14 points and four steals in McDaniel’s 57-54 win over Muhlenberg on Saturday. In Thursday’s 74-61 win over Haverford, McDaniel scored 17 points. In Tuesday’s 65-60 loss to No. 16 Swarthmore, McWilliams finished with 11 points.
Junior Zach Quattro (Hatboro-Horsham) put up career highs in points (21) and rebounds (13) to lead Ursinus to a 86-85 overtime win over Washington College last Tuesday. Quattro finished 9-for-14 from the field, adding four assists and two blocks. In Thursday’s 81-74 victory at Dickinson, Quattro posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, including a pair of crucial free throws that gave the Bears a five-point lead with 31.0 seconds remaining. In Saturday’s 79-66 win over Gettysburg, Quattro had 13 points and five rebounds. He was 6-of-11 from the field to reach double figures for the fifth straight game and seventh time in his last eight contests. Sophomore Zack Muredda (Pennridge) had five points.
Gwynedd Mercy senior Arron Goodman (Council Rock North) picked up an honor roll mention as the Colonial Athletic Conference announced its awards for the week ending Jan. 8. Goodman averaged 23.5 points a game in a 2-0 CSAC week while shooting 70 percent (19-of-27) from the field. He also totaled 14 rebounds and went 7-for-10 at the free throw line. In a win at Summit, he finished with 19 points on 9-of-12 from the field, along with nine boards and two assists. In a win over Keystone, he scored 20 of his season-high 28 points in the second half, going 10-for-15 from the floor, including a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the arc. In 12 games, Goodman is second on the team in scoring (16.6 ppg) and rebounds (8.2 rpg) and is ranked in the top 10 in both categories in the CSAC.
Goodman netted 20 points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 90-88 win at Rosemont on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 82-69 win over Centenary, Goodman registered 22 points and 11 rebounds. In Monday’s 75-70 loss to Cabrini, Goodman had 12 points.
Lock Haven freshman Amir Hinton (Abington) was named the PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8. Hinton averaged 24 points per game over a two-game span in PSAC East play. He scored 25 at East Stroudsburg and followed it up with 23 points versus Kutztown. To go along with his 25 points versus Stroudsburg, Hinton added three rebounds, two steals and a block. In the game with Kutztown, he added five rebounds and four assists to go along with his 23 points. On the season, Hinton is averaging 22.4 points a game, which is the third best mark in the PSAC.
Hinton contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds in Lock Haven’s 86-70 loss to No. 8 Shippensburg on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 103-74 win over Cheyney, Hinton matched his career high and led all scorers with 27 points. In Monday’s 72-68 win over Millersville, Hinton contributed a team-high 19 points and nine rebounds to go along with four steals, three assists and two blocks. He went 2-for-2 at the free throw line in the final 24 seconds to extend Lock Haven’s lead and ice the win.
Ryan Connolly (Souderton) became the 25th player in Kutztown University program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone in KU’s 91-88 overtime win over Mansfield on Saturday. The Souderton graduate hit two free throws with 11 seconds remaining in OT to give KU an 88-85 advantage. Those two free throws gave Connolly a game and season-high 25 points as well as his 1,000th career point. He tied a career high by making 6-of-10 from 3-point range to move into third place in program history with 192 career 3-pointers. He also tied a season high with four assists to go along with six rebounds, two steals and a block. In Wednesday’s 92-87 victory over first-place East Stroudsburg, Anthony Lee (Abington) finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Connolly added 10 points – all in the first half – with seven rebounds. In Monday’s 98-66 win over Cheyney, Lee posted a game-high 22 points and also had eight rebounds. He entered the game leading the PSAC in 3-point percentage at .583 and added on to his potential record-breaking mark with a 4-for-6 performance from beyond the arc. In 27 minutes of action, he added a career-high three blocks and three steals. Lee is averaging 21 points per game over the last four games and has two-plus steals in each of the last seven. Connolly added 11 points, including three 3-pointers. He added four steals in 26 minutes.

Matt Penecale (Abington) scored 11 points in West Chester’s 93-74 win over Cheyney on Saturday. He equaled his season-high with nine assists and had a season-best four steals to go with a pair of blocked shots.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Freshman Sammy Lochner (Abington) had five assists in Saint Peter’s 59-54 loss to Canisius on Friday.
Freshman Allison Chernow (Upper Dublin) scored 12 points in Emory University’s 76-65 loss to No. 9 Washington University on Friday.
Freshman Jordan Vitelli (Central Bucks South) scored seven points and also had two rebounds and a steal in the University of the Sciences 65-42 win over Post on Saturday.
Philadelphia University freshman guard Alynna Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women’s basketball rookie of the week for the week ending Dec. 15. In two conference victories, Williams averaged 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Williams poured in a game-high 15 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in a 59-51 home victory against Post. She contributed five points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the Rams’ 70-49 road win at Nyack. She has appeared in all 19 contests for the Rams, 17 times as a starter, and is recording 11.7 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 52 assists and 20 steals. Williams is second on the team in scoring and assists.
Freshman Cassidy Quattro (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed eight points and nine rebounds in Washington College’s 81-55 loss to Dickinson on Saturday. In Thursday’s 71-60 loss to Franklin & Marshall, Quattro scored nine points and was 4-for-4 from the field. In Tuesday’s 63-59 win over Ursinus, Quattro had a game-best four blocks and team-high five rebounds.
Shippensburg University graduate Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) was named the PSAC Eastern Division Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8. Knauer was honored after leading the Shippensburg offense in a week where SU posted back-to-back double-digit point wins over divisional opponents. Shippensburg extended its winning streak to four games with the unbeaten week. Against Millersville, Knauer totaled 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks as SU pulled away for a 30-point victory. Knauer was unstoppable in the Raiders’ victory over Bloomsburg, scoring a season-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting to go along with seven rebounds. Knauer has been shooting a PSAC-best 64 percent this season. That also ranks third in all of Division II. She has four 20-point games this season.
Knauer led all scorers with 20 points in Shippensburg 72-58 win at Lock Haven on Saturday. Knauer has posted double figures in six straight games and 10 of the last 11 overall. She was 10-of-15 from the field with five rebounds and three assists. In Wednesday’s 82-48 win over West Chester, Knauer had 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
Senior Lauren Crisler (North Penn) had 12 points in American University’s 53-51 loss to Army West Point on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 73-62 win over Boston University, junior Michael Harris (Abington) scored a career-high 13 points to go along with five rebounds. It was her fourth double-figure performance of the season. Crisler added 10 points.
Deja Rawls (Abington) dished out a season high seven assists in Siena’s 85-76 win over Monmouth on Thursday.
Larissa Leyes (Upper Dublin) drained three three-pointers in Gwynedd Mercy’s 73-43 win over Keystone on Wednesday. In Monday’s 75-71 loss to Cabrini, Monet McGorda (Cheltenham) contributed four points and four rebounds and Leyes had five points.
Kaitlin Kelly (Pennsbury) scored six points in DeSales University’s 83-51 loss at FDU-Florham on Saturday.
Alysha Lofton (Central Bucks South) scored a career-high 31 points in Albright’s 85-82 win over No. 22 Messiah on Saturday. Lofton’s 31 points are tied for seventh most in a single game in program history. The loss was the first of the season for Messiah and moves Albright into sole possession of first place in the MAC Commonwealth. In Tuesday’s 63-50 win over Lycoming, Lofton scored 17 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. In Monday’s 78-45 loss to No. 2 Amherst, Lofton had five points and seven rebounds.
Freshman Lydia Konstanzer (Pennridge) had 14 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double in Ursinus College’s 65-51 loss to Gettysburg on Saturday. In Thursday’s 52-51 win over Dickinson, Konstanzer finished with 22 points and eight rebounds and notched a critical steal on Dickinson’s final possession to help Ursinus hold on for the victory. Konstanzer played all 40 minutes and made it four consecutive outings with 20-plus points. She extended her CC-leading streak of double figure outputs to nine. She was 9-for-16 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line. In Tuesday’s 63-59 loss to Washington College, Konstanzer scored 27 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. She connected on 10-of-18 shots from the floor.
Taylor Thames (North Penn) was the catalyst in Kutztown’s 69-68 come-from-behind win at Mansfield on Saturday, scoring all of her career-high 16 points in the second half. She was 8-of-9 from the field and also had three steals and two assists. Kutztown trailed by 18 at halftime. In Monday’s 89-64 win over Cheyney, Thames scored 13 points, highlighted by a 7-for-8 performance at the free throw line. She added four assists. Thames was named to the Fall 2016 Dean’s List. To be eligible, an undergraduate must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.
Allison Gallagher (Souderton) scored 13 points in Widener’s 60-57 win over Hood on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 67-65 overtime loss to Alvernia, Gallagher registered a double-double by racking up 24 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Freshman Devan Rimmer (Pennridge) came just shy of a triple-double by contributing 14 points, nine boards and seven steals.
Junior guard Vicky Tumasz (North Penn) scored 18 points off the bench in Chestnut Hill’s 92-75 loss to Caldwell on Tuesday.
Senior guard Rachel Falkowski (Central Bucks South) scored eight points and matched a career high with nine rebounds and dished out a career-best six assists in East Stroudsburg’s 70-66 loss to Slippery Rock on Saturday.

Tyler Chamberlin (Springfield) finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.91 in Albright’s 130-73 loss to Ursinus on Saturday.
Jacob Schellinger (North Penn) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.31 while freshman Mark Preedy (William Tennent) finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.95 in Arcadia’s sweep of King’s College (183.5-75) and Messiah College (195-66) on Friday. Preedy was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:30.06), and both Preedy and Schellinger were part of the 200 medley relay that placed fourth (1:44.56).
Junior Nick Erick (Cheltenham) placed third in the 1,650 freestyle in Cabrini’s 169-54 loss to Ursinus.
IUP senior Andrew Richey (William Tennent) won the 50 free (22.06) and was part of the first place 200 medley relay (1:39.18) at the Hall of Fame Invitational against Alfred State on Wednesday night.
Freshman Jeff Beyer (Wissahickon) won all three freestyle events in Shippensburg’s 134-126 win over Edinboro on Saturday. He won the 200 (1:46.41), 500 (4:56.92) and the 1,000 (10:26.25) and also opened the 200 free relay that captured first place (1:28.88). He contributed 30 individual points toward the team score and assisted with another 10 in the last event.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Towson sophomore Haley Sutton (Hatboro-Horsham) finished third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:02.71. She also was part of the 200 free ‘B’ relay that finished third with a time of 1:41.49.
Junior Megan Berardelli (Wissahickon) earned first place with 230.17 points in the one-meter diving event and 298.65 points at three meters in Marist’s 171-120 victory over Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday.
Freshman Rachel Samson (Council Rock North) was the runner-up in the individual medley with a time of 2:17.74 and finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:41.74 in Arcadia’s sweep of defending MAC champion Messiah (142-119) and King’s (205-53) on Friday. She also was part of the second place 200 freestyle relay (1:41.68). Senior Megan Obarowski (Council Rock South) was third in the 100 butterfly (1:03.91), fourth in the individual medley (2:22.38) and was part of the fourth place 200 medley relay (2:01.03).
Sammy Grogan (Council Rock North) was part of the first place 400 medley relay that posted a time of 4:18.22 in Widener’s dual meet wins over Wilkes (168-27) and Cabrini (160-43). Lauren Griffith (Central Bucks East) was part of the winning 400 free relay team that hit the wall in 3:49.90.
Tommie Dillione (Council Rock North) captured first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.24 in Penn State’s split with Rutgers (204-148) and Yale (137-215) this weekend.
Bridget Perdoch (Pennsbury) won the 100 breast and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:12.19) in Kutztown’s 144-112 win over Lock Haven on Saturday. She also finished second in the 200 breast in an existing PSAC time of 2:36.83. Aimee Watkins (Hatboro-Horsham) was second in the 500 free (5:57.41) and fourth in the 200 free (2:17.77). Caitlyn Falguera (Hatboro-Horsham) was fourth in the 200 back (2:33.55) and fifth in the 100 back (1:16.67).

Kutztown redshirt junior Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) ran the second-fastest 55-meter hurdle race in school history at the Golden Bear Invitational on Friday. Although he missed out on the win by .02 seconds, Bullaro’s PSAC qualifying time of 7.65 seconds was just .02 shy of Kevin Kelly’s school record set in 1997. Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) moved into seventh place in program history in the pole vault. Having already set an NCAA provisional and PSAC mark in KU’s first event of the season, Raguz cleared a new career-best height of 4.85m (15-11.00) to win the pole vault. Obi Ogbonna (Harry S Truman) joined Bullaro in setting a PSAC mark in the 55-meter hurdles, crossing fifth in 8.22 seconds. Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield) won the 400-meter run by crossing in 51.56, also a PSAC mark.

Brianna Stratz (Central Bucks South) was part of Monmouth’s distance medley relay team that crossed the tape in 12:08 for an ECAC qualifying time at the Angry Birds Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday.
Kutztown sophomore Stephanie Besadola (North Penn) pulled out a narrow win in the 1000m run at the Golden Bear Invitational on Friday, finishing in a time of 3:08.66 for a winning margin of .25 seconds in one of the closest races of the day. Olivia Morano (Quakertown) was seventh in the weight throw (10.47m) and 11th in the shot put (9.30m).
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Senior Chrisian Lizana (Pennridge) had three kills in Vassar’s 3-0 loss to No. 6 UC Santa Cruz on Saturday. In Thursday’s 3-0 win over California Lutheran University, Lizana posted nine kills on 19 attacks and also had a team-leading nine digs. In Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Hope International, Lizana chalked up a career-high 17 kills on 42 swings and added 10 digs. The double-double was the second of his career.
WRESTLING
Dylan Nuttall (Harry S Truman) went 3-0 with two decisions and a pin fall at 125 for York College at the Budd Whitehall Duals hosted by Lycoming College on Saturday. Jesse Huber (Harry S Truman) earned a 5-2 decision at 184 in York’s 6-1 loss to No. 23 Springfield.
Freshman Christian Cooper (Pennridge) scored his second career win with a 9-7 decision at 141 in Elizabethtown’s 28-6 loss to Scranton on Friday.
Mikey O’Brien (North Penn) returned to the mat for the first time in more than two months and won a 17-3 major decision at 141 in Kutztown’s 39-6 win over the Newport News Apprentice School to open the Virginia Duals on Friday.
