Villanova senior Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) was one of 60 student-athletes named a candidate for the 2015-16 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate basketball. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be

Arcidiacono scored a team-high 19 points, including a three-pointer that forced overtime with seven seconds on the clock in regulation in No. 4 Villanova’s 82-76 overtime loss to No. 16 Providence on Sunday. The loss snapped the Wildcats’ string of 22 straight BIG EAST victories. In Wednesday’s 72-71 win over Seton Hall, Arcidiacono scored on a drive with 26.5 seconds left in the second half to snap a tie game at 69.
Sophomore Aaron Burton (Cheltenham) scored eight points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds in DeSales University’s 75-47 loss at Delaware Valley University on Friday. Burton was named A.B.E. Doors and Windows Player of the Game.
Senior Luke Moyer (Souderton) scored 13 points, which included four three-pointers, in John Brown University’s 78-72 win over Bacone (Okla.) on Saturday. In Thursday’s 96-85 loss to Science and Arts, Moyer scored a game-high 27 points. The Souderton grad connected on 10-of-15 shots from the floor and an impressive 5-of-8 from behind the arc.
Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in Washington College’s 66-54 loss to McDaniel College on Wednesday.
Senior Julian Hyden (Bensalem) and junior Arron Goodman (Council Rock North) registered 18 points each in Gwynedd Mercy’s 80-57 Colonial States Athletic Conference win over Cairn on Wednesday night.
Wes Brooks (North Penn) – who had scored just 21 points in the last three games combined – scored a game-high 24 points in McDaniel College’s 66-54 win over Washington College on Wednesday night. Brooks knocked down all six of his three-point attempts.
Evan Dunn (Central Bucks West) scored a career-high 14 points off the bench in Albright’s 75-65 loss to Alvernia on Wednesday.
Tim Abruzzo (Pennridge) contributed five points, two rebounds and two steals in Navy's 69-64 win over Lehigh on Wednesday.
Senior guard Mark Wonderling (Souderton) contributed seven points, six rebounds and a pair of steals in Ursinus College’s 83-76 win over Haverford on Wednesday night.
Kutztown freshman Anthony Lee (Abington) earned his second consecutive and third PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Week honor for the week ending Jan. 17. He is the only Eastern Division player to earn three
Freshman of the Week honors this season. Lee averaged 22.5 points a game and shot 60.9 percent from the field for the week. He made three three-pointers and 14-of-16 free throws (87.5 percent). On the court, he led the team at 34.5 minutes, was second on the team at 5.5 rebounds per game, averaged 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals. At Philadelphia, he scored 17 points and shot 6-for-8 from the field. He made all four of his free throws and grabbed five rebounds. At East Stroudsburg, Lee posted a season-high 28 points. He made eight of his first 12 shots and ended the day 8-for-15 from the field. He made 2-of-4 three-pointers and a season high 10-of-12 free throws. He led the team with six rebounds in 36 minutes. Lee has scored at least 15 points in five straight games, an average of 20.2 points over that span. He is third on the team at 12.8 points per game, he is shooting 61.7 percent from the field, 51.4 from three-point range and is second on the team with 19 three-pointers. Across the PSAC, Lee is the second leading freshman scorer in the league. On the year, Lee’s latest spurt has him at 61.7 percent shooting from the field and 4.63 field goals per game, just shy of the 5.0 minimum that would have him atop the PSAC leaderboard.
Lee scored 16 points and dished out four assists in Kutztown’s 103-75 win over Mansfield on Wednesday.
Kutztown redshirt junior Ryan Connolly (Souderton) is featured in PSAC In Depth. WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Senior Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) scored 24 points and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career in Cairn University’s 54-53 loss to Notre Dame of Maryland on Wednesday night. Eppolito needed 20 points to reach the milestone going into the game, and she connected on 7-of-17 shots from the floor. In Friday’s 63-44 loss to Rosemont College, Eppolito scored seven points.
Senior Mallory Mugnier (Abington) collected a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in Penn State Abington’s 84-73 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday.
Freshman Regie Robinson (Upper Merion) posted her second straight double-double and sixth overall in Eastern University’s 70-65 win over Misericordia on Friday night, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. In Wednesday’s 80-65 loss to Manhattanville College, Robinson scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Junior Lauren Crisler (North Penn) scored 11 points and also had a team-best eight rebounds in American University’s 60-51 loss to Lafayette on Wednesday.
Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) scored 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds in Alvernia’s 70-69 loss to Widener on Friday. It was the seventh time Roberts was Alvernia’s point leader this season.
Sophomore Kaitlin Kelly (Pennsbury) scored a career-high 22 points in DeSales University’s 75-71 loss to Delaware Valley on Friday. For her performance, Kelly, who connected on six three-pointers, earned A.B.E. doors and Windows Player of the Game honors.
Senior Emily O’Donnell (William Tennent) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds in No. 19 Albright’s 79-61 win over Alvernia on Wednesday night. The Tennent graduate finished the game 6-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. She also had a blocked shot. It marked the third double-double of the season for O’Donnell and fifth of her career.
Sophomore Allison Gallagher (Souderton) scored 15 points in Widener’s 70-69 win over Alvernia on Friday night. In Wednesday’s 69-58 win over Arcadia, Gallagher scored 14 points off the bench.
Sydney Morse (Norristown) contributed eight points in 18 minutes off the bench in Lock Haven’s 68-61 loss to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday.
Keifonna Ferguson (Norristown) contributed seven rebounds off the bench in Kutztown’s 72-60 win over Mansfield on Wednesday.
Junior guard Rachel Falkowski (Central Bucks South) scored 11 points in East Stroudsburg 68-61 win at Lock Haven on Wednesday night.
MEN’S SWIMMING
Andrew Richey (William Tennent) finished first in both the 50 freestyle (22.09) and 100 freestyle (49.36) in IUP’s 136-66 win over Clarion on Friday night.
La Salle senior CJ Gimpel (Central Bucks South) took first place in the one-meter diving event with 279.37 points, finishing 64.22 points ahead of second place in the Explorers’ tri-meet against Fordham and Iona on Friday. La Salle won 11 of 15 events in which they competed.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
University of Delaware senior Kristina Congdon (Pennsbury) was named the CAA Women’s Diver of the Week for the period ending Jan. 17. The Pennsbury graduate won two events in leading Delaware to a non-league win over Iona. Congdon, a health behavior science major, won the award for the second time this season after earning the citation on Oct. 27.
Congdon won both the one-meter (306.90) and three-meter (347.85) events in the University Delaware’s 187-99 win over Iona on last Sunday. Alyssa Santangelo (Souderton) was part of Delaware’s second place 200 medley relay (1:48.44).
Senior Rachel Engelhardt (Hatboro-Horsham) captured first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:52.44 in Elizabethtown’s 102-99 loss to Frostburg last Monday.
Bobby Lenahan (Hatboro-Horsham) won the 100 butterfly in Bloomsburg’s 109-89 win over Susquehanna University on Friday.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
IUP sophomore Austin Cooper (Upper Merion) took home first place in the 800m with a career best indoor time of 1:52.78 at Youngstown State’s National Invitational on Friday.
Ursinus sophomore Jequan Mitchell (Upper Merion) won his heat in the 60m dash (7.25) and just missed out on qualifying for the finals with an eighth place performance at the annual Collegeville Classic on Friday.
Shippensburg senior Jalen Ramsey (Norristown) debuted in the high jump (6 feet, 4 ¾ inches) and the long jump (21 feet, 5 ¼ inches) at the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell University on Saturday, tying for fourth in the high jump and finishing fourth in the long jump The Raiders finished second to Bucknell in the team standings.
La Salle junior Fran Ferruzzi (Upper Dublin) finished 25th in the 80-man field in the mile with a time of 4:22.79 at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday.
Lock Haven junior Lamier Dodson (Bensalem) won the weight throw with a PSAC mark of 49-07.75 at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna University on Friday. Julien Freeman (Harry S Truman) won the long jump, recording a PSAC leap of 21-06.00.
Kutztown senior Chris Varichione (Quakertown) posted a PSAC qualifying throw of 53-07.75 and finished second in the weight throw at the New York City Gotham Cup on Friday. He also added a 10th place finish in the shot put with a PSAC-qualifying throw of 45-05.00. Redshirt sophomore Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) placed 10th in the 60m hurdles with a PSAC qualifying and career best time of 8.43 seconds. He broke his previous career best by .01 seconds and moved into fifth all-time in school history in the event. Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield) finished 20th and recorded a PSAC qualifying and career best time of 22.74 seconds in the 200m dash. Ron Smith (Neshaminy) posted a PSAC qualifying time of 51.50 in the 400m , placing 51st.

Towson senior Katelyn Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.27 at the Navy Mid-Week Meet on Tuesday in Annapolis.
La Salle sophomore Kaitlin Poiesz (Central Bucks South) ran a time of 3:03.87 for 15th place out of 48 entries in the 1000 meters at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday.
Ursinus senior Elizabeth Cooley (Quakertown) was second in the pole vault with a mark of 9.575 feet, within six inches of her personal best, at the annual Collegeville Classic on Friday.
Senior Tori Gerlach (Pennridge) is part of Penn State’s 4×800 relay that posted a world leading time of 8:45.85 on Jan. 9, 2016, during the Penn State Relays, missing the school record of 8:45.60 set in 1984 by 0.25 seconds.
Shippensburg freshman Allison King (North Penn) won the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.92 and also placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.36 at the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell University on Saturday. Her time in the 60m slots third on the conference performance list. Sophomore Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) finished seventh in the 60m dash with a PSAC qualifying time of 7.93.
Bloomsburg junior James Wilson (Central Bucks South) posted a career-best time of 2:36.78 in the 1000-meter run at the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell University on Friday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Junior Christian Lizana (Pennridge) had eight kills on 18 attacks in Vassar’s 3-0 win over No. 11 Kean at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by SUNY Poly on Saturday. In Friday’s 3-1 win over Wentworth, Lizana led the offense with eight kills. Vassar finished the tournament with a 4-0 record.
WRESTLING
Bucknell senior Joe Stolfi (Souderton) is ranked sixth at 285 in the NCAA’s first of four coaches’ panel rankings for the 2015-16 wrestling season. The final rankings will be one of the tools used as part of the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2016 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. Stolfi is the highest ranked EIWA individual in his weight class.
Stolfi recorded a pair of victories in Saturday’s tri-match against Brown and Harvard. The Souderton graduate won by injury default at 285 at the 5:55 mark in Bucknell’s 27-15 win over Brown and won by forfeit in Bucknell’s 26-21 loss to Harvard.
Messiah College senior Greg Kabakjian (Souderton) won a conference title at 149 pounds and his first tournament victory in his four-year Falcon career on Saturday at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship at Lycoming College. Kabakjian made his way to the finals by way of two pins and a decision before defeating Nick Menkin by a 9-2 decision in the finals for a comeback victory.
