When the University of North Carolina defeated Maryland 2-0 to capture the NCAA Championship last Sunday in
Louisville, Ky., three former SOL standouts were in uniform for the two national powerhouses. Bryn Boylan (Central Bucks West) is a sophomore at UNC. The Tarheels, ranked No. 1 since the second week of the season, finished the season 23-0, the third team in program history to finish undefeated. The national title is the program’s seventh. Boylan,
who scored three goals this year off the bench, was named to both the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the NFHCA National Academic squad as a freshman.
Riley Donnelly (Central Bucks East) started all 25 games in the defensive backfield for the runner-up Terrapins and led the team with 1,669 minutes played. She had one assist, and that came on a goal by freshman Taylor Mason (Central Bucks West) in Maryland’s 9-1 win over No. 19 Ohio State. It was Mason’s first collegiate goal. Mason appeared in 15 games for the Terrapins, who made their 24th straight NCAA Tournament appearance – the longest active streak in the country. This also marked Maryland’s second straight NCAA championship game appearance and 13th overall. The Terrapins have won eight NCAA titles.
UNC’s title win showcased a pair of former District One standouts. Megan DuVernois, a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy Academy, scored the game’s first goal which turned out to be the game-winner. Erin Matson, a Unionville graduate, scored the second.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Damien Washington (Upper Moreland) had a team-high nine rebounds and two blocked shots to go with 16 points in Delaware Valley University’s 87-85 loss to Hood on Wednesday. In last Friday’s 86-71 win over Southern Virginia University, Washington finished with 20 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Evan Slone (Souderton) had 12 points Arcadia’s 65-56 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Tuesday. In Arcadia’s 79-58 win over Susquehanna, Slone had 11 points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
John Ryan (William Tennent) scored 10 points in Penn State Abington’s 79-75 win over Vassar in the title game of the Vassar Tip-Off Tournament last Saturday. In the Nittany Lions’ opening round 85-77 win over Misericordia, Ryan had 13 points.
Tracy Simsick (Souderton) had 16 points in DeSales University’s 84-78 loss to Moravian on Tuesday. In last Saturday’s 80-67 win over Lancaster Bible in the consolation game of the Salisbury Tournament, Simsick had 11 points. In DSU’s 85-78 loss to Johns Hopkins, Simsick finished with 11 points. In DeSales’ 100-89 win over Rosemont, Simsick scored a career-high 29 points, shooting 10-for-17 from the field and burying 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Senior guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 13 points and became the 14th player in school history to reach 1,200 points in Moravian’s 84-74 win over DeSales on Tuesday. In last Saturday’s 89-64 win over Penn College, Murray had 12 points and three rebounds. In Moravian’s 89-78 win over The City College of New York on the opening day of the Ollie Gelston Classic at Montclair State, Murray contributed 12 points and two rebounds. In Moravian’s 78-75 loss to William Patterson, Murray led the Hounds with 24 points to go with three rebounds and a pair of assists.
Junior Riley Thompson (Council Rock North) was named to the all-tournament team at the Gettysburg Tip-Off Tournament last Saturday. Thompson scored a game-high 26 points, 21 in the second half of Ithaca’s 80-78 win over Albright. The CR North graduate went 9-for-20 from the field, including 4-for-9 from three-point range. In Ithaca’s 92-84 loss to Gettysburg last Friday, Thompson scored a team-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor, including three from beyond the arc.
Freshman Trevonn Pitts (Cheltenham) connected on 5-of-10 shots and finished with a season-high 17 points in Chestnut Hill’s 107-71 win over West Chester on Monday. He also had four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal. In last Saturday’s 62-55 win over Queens College, Pitts went 7-for-10 and 1-for-1 from the free throw line en route to 15 points.
Redshirt senior Anthony Lee (Abington) played all 50 minutes and led all scorers with 32 points, eight rebounds and tied a career high with three blocks in No. 22 Kutztown’s 94-91 double overtime loss to Lincoln University on Tuesday. In last Saturday’s 92-52 win over Cheyney, Lee tallied 18 points and seven rebounds and was 3-of-5 from three-point range. In KU’s 76-71 win over the University of the Sciences, Lee led the way with 16 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
Freshman Ish Horn (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had eight points and three steals in East Stroudsburg’s 79-49 win over Cheyney.
Junior guard Amir Hinton (Abington) led all scorers with 24 points that featured 8-of-9 from the foul line to go along with five assists and three rebounds in Shaw’s 71-66 win over Claflin on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 80-72 loss to Francis Marion, Hinton paced the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. In Shaw’s 89-83 win over East Stroudsburg on day two of the Shaw University Classic, Hinton scored a game-high 44 points, including 27-of-29 free throws. Hinton finished the night with seven rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks. In Shaw’s 93-75 loss to Morehouse, Hinton scored 32 points, including 15-of-15 from the free throw line while notching five assists, five rebounds and two steals.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Makenzie Mason (Central Bucks West) scored 13 points and had a team-high five assists and three blocks in the University of Scranton’s 68-47 win over Marywood on Tuesday. In last Saturday’s 69-47 win over Marywood as part of the 2018 Cross County Challenge, Mason poured in a career-high 24 points. The CB West graduate shot 9-of-13 from the floor and made a trio of three-pointers. She also pulled down 10 rebounds to notch a double-double, dished out three assists and also had two blocks and two steals. For her efforts, Mason was named to the Cross County Challenge All-Tournament team. In Scranton’s 70-58 win over King’s in the Cross County Challenge, Mason finished the night with a double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds. She also led the defense in the win, blocking five shots to match a career high. The defensive unit held King’s to just 29.9 percent shooting from the floor.
Senior Nicole Munger (Central Bucks West) had a career night, hitting seven triples en route to 27 points and five rebounds in 38 minutes in Michigan's 80-73 win over Washington in the third place game of the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla., on Sunday. Munger buried 9-of-16 shots, including 7-of-14 from beyond the arc. She was 2-for-2 at the foul line. The CB West grad hit a pair of free throws just 22 seconds into the fourth quarter to give the Wolverines a 59-55 lead. Michigan led the rest of the way but saw its lead trimmed to two points, 64-62, with 5:17 remaining. The Wolverines completed what was basically a four-point play on a putback of a missed free throw, and Munger took over from there, hitting back-to-back triples with 2:54 and 2:24 remaining.
Junior Allison Chernow (Upper Dublin) scored 25 points on 5-of-12 shooting and 13-of-15 from the charity stripe in Emory’s 69-57 win over Denison University on the final day of the Gratz Park Private Wealth Classic at Transylvania University on Sunday. She also added a game-high eight rebounds and four assists. In Saturday’s 90-87 loss to Transylvania in double overtime, Chernow torched the host team for a career-high 39 points off the bench. Chernow’s point total represented the program’s second highest individual game mark behind only Mandy Jackson’s 41 on Jan. 7, 1993. Chernow closed out the contest 13-of-19 from the floor with her field goal total tying the school’s third highest effort, including a school record tying nine three-point field goals in 11 attempts. Chernow’s performance from beyond the arc tied Hannah Lilly (Nov. 26, 2013) for most treys by an Emory player.
Arcadia junior Taylor Dunn (Central Bucks South) was named the MAC Commonwealth Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 11. Dunn takes home the first conference award of the season after leading the Knights to a 68-45 win over Centenary. Dunn led all players with 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting (.560) and added seven rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. She scored 18 of her 24 points in the first half as Arcadia raced out to a 33-13 lead at the break. She was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line, part of a 23-for-28 showing for the team as a whole. The 24 points were just two shy of her career high of 26 set last season against Stevenson.
Dunn scored 14 points and also added nine rebounds in Arcadia’s 77-65 loss to Gwynedd Mercy in Tuesday’s Battle of 309. In Arcadia’s 88-74 loss to Randolph-Macon last Saturday, Dunn led the Knights with 28 points on 11-of-20 shooting and 10 rebounds for a double-double. In Arcadia’s 104-66 loss to DeSales, Dunn led the Knights with 15 points, which included a 10-for-10 showing at the charity stripe.
Sammy Lochner (Abington) scored 13 points in St. Peter’s 86-59 win over LIU Brooklyn last Saturday.
Freshman Samantha Brusha (Abington) scored a season-high 23 points off the bench, shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc while making all six of her shots from the charity stripe in Millersville’s 75-65 loss to Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday.
Aigner Bookard (Cheltenham) scored 16 points in Cairn University’s 76-63 win over Bryn Mawr College in its season opener.
Cassidy Quattro (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed nine points and seven rebounds in Washington College’s 55-51 win over Swarthmore on Tuesday. In last Sunday’s 73-20 win over Penn State-Schuylkill, Quattro had a game-high 10 rebounds. In Washington College’s 66-44 win over Notre Dame (Md.), Quattro scored a career-high and contest-best 17 points.
Taylor Thames (North Penn) had 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field in Kutztown’s 55-45 loss to Saint Mary’s University on Saturday in San Antonio, Texas. In Tuesday’s 60-54 loss to St. Edward, Thames played a team-high 37 minutes, dishing out four assists and adding six points.
Senior Deja Rawls (Abington) had 15 points and five assists in Siena’s 74-71 win over Wagner on Saturday. The 15 points tied a career high for Rawls, who connected on 9-of-10 at the free throw line. In Friday’s 51-39 loss to Drexel, Rawls grabbed four rebounds and handed out a team-high three assists. In Monday’s 86-81 road win over Howard, Rawls had 14 points. In Siena’s 73-54 loss to Harvard, Rawls led the team with 10 points and dished out four assists.
Jordan Vitelli (Central Bucks South) scored a game-high 23 points in just 22 minutes in No. 12 University of the Sciences 60-52 victory over Rollins on Saturday in the championship game of the Rollins Thanksgiving Tournament in Winter Park, Fla. The CB South graduate connected on three straight three-pointers during a 10-0 tear that broke a tie in the final minutes of the first half. Vitelli connected on 7-of-11 field goals and was 4-of-8 on three-pointers. She connected on all five of her free throw attempts. Irisa Ye (North Penn) matched her career-best of 20 points, which included a 7-for-9 effort at the foul line, and Jess Huber (North Penn) had a career-best three assists. In Friday’s 75-60 win over Hillsboro in the opening game of the Rollins Tournament, Ye scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting, tying her career best for the second game in a row. Mikaela Giuliani (North Penn) had a team-high six rebounds. In USciences 77-70 win at West Chester, Ye scored a game-high 20 on 8-of-9 shooting. The sophomore added a career-high four assists as well as two steals. Vitelli, who connected on 7-of-13 shots, scored 18 points and had a career-best three steals. Huber had four rebounds while Giuliani had three assists.
Lydia Konstanzer (Pennridge) scored a game-high 26 points, snared 10 rebounds, collected five steals and blocked three shots in Ursinus College’s 62-53 win over Elmira in the consolation game of the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament last Saturday. The forward hit on 11-of-20 shots from the field. In last Friday’s 74-64 loss to Vassar, Konstanzer had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Sophomore Sabria Lytes (Harry S Truman) had three points, three rebounds and one block off the bench in Jefferson University’s 78-64 win over Shippensburg on Tuesday. In last Sunday’s 70-64 win over Lincoln, senior Erin Maher (North Penn) had seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds with one assist and one steal. Junior Alynna Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had seven points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds. In Jefferson’s 76-57 win over NYIT, Maher scored a game-high 22 points to go along with a double-double behind 14 boards, four assists, seven steals, two blocks and two steals. Williams finished with 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals. In Jefferson’s 90-62 win over Queen’s, Williams led all scorers with a career-high 29 points. Williams shot 9-of-15 from the field, including 6-of-8 from the three-point range. Her six threes also were a career high. The junior converted 5-of-6 from the free throw line and added two rebounds and just one turnover.
Marissa Sandone (Souderton) had a personal best nine points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 87-76 victory over Mt. Aloysius College on Saturday.
Devan Rimmer (Pennridge) finished as the team’s top scorer for the sixth straight game in Widener’s 84-76 win over Marywood on Sunday afternoon. The Pennridge graduate notched a season-high 21 points on 57 percent shooting. In Widener’s 75-69 win over Neumann University on Tuesday, Rimmer finished with a team-high 14 points, seven assists and three steals. In last Saturday’s 74-49 win over Ferrum, Rimmer led all scorers with 17 points, shooting 50 percent from the field while connecting on 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. Rimmer was named to the McDaniel Tip-Off-Classic presented by Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield All-Classic Team.Emma Gardy (Central Bucks South) had nine points, shooting 75 percent from three-point range. In last Friday’s 68-63 win over Eastern Mennonite University, Rimmer led the way with 16 points. She also had three steals. In Widener’s 72-47 win over Penn State Brandywine, Rimmer had a team-high 17 points.

St. Joseph’s sophomore Matthew Scarpill (Central Bucks South) finished 29th with a time of 23:42 and earned All-East honors at the 2018 IC4A Championship held at Van Cortlandt Park last Saturday. The Hawks finished fifth out of 18 squads. Freshman Ben Bunch (Central Bucks West) led eight Hawks in the Coaches Race (4.97 miles) with a time of 25:02 for 11th in the field of 66.
Jefferson University sophomore Josh Skinner (Upper Dublin) posted a time of 38:38.90 at the 2018 NCAA D-II East Region Championships last Saturday.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Senior Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) was Shippensburg’s number 3 runner at the 2018 NCAA Atlantic Region Championships last Saturday, finishing 24th in 25:47. Kinkead achieved her third career All-Region performance, accompanying a 10th place finish last season and a 13th place run in 2016. Senior Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) finished 74th in 27:32.
Ursinus senior Riley Engel (Council Rock North) was named to the 2018 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.
Kutztown senior Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) earned All-Atlantic Region honors, finishing 10th and leading KU to a fifth place finish on the 6K Bob O’Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh. It is KU’s third straight top five finish at Regionals. It was the best finish in Bresadola’s career as she posted a time of 24:54. She also earned All-PSAC first team honors.
West Chester junior Tara McLaughlin (North Penn) finished 49th after crossing the finish line in 26:41 at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship last Saturday.
FIELD HOCKEY
West Chester senior goalkeeper Marissa Elizardo (North Penn) was named the PSAC 2018 Field Hockey
Champion Scholar prior to the PSAC semifinals. The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA’s Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC’s 23-team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III. Elizardo has accumulated 115 credits while working toward a degree in Education with a focus on Middle Grades Education and minors in Mathematics and Psychology with an impressive 3.975 GPA.
Elizardo also was named to the PSAC All-Conference first team. The North Penn graduate has played to a record of 15-2 with a goals-against average of 0.87 and a save percentage of .803 over the course of 1204 minutes in goal. Elizardo has also registered a conference best seven shutouts over the course of the 2018 season while also recording a combined shutout midway through the month of October.
Elizardo recorded four saves in West Chester’s 3-1 win over Shippensburg in last Sunday’s PSAC championship game. In Shippensburg’s 2-0 win over Millersville in a PSAC semifinal, Elizardo ended the game with one save.
Albright sophomore Brynne Schoppe (North Penn) was named to the MAC Sportsmanship team. The teams include one student-athlete from each institution for each sport. The MAC Sportsmanship Teams recognize student-athletes who exemplify great character and demonstrate the act of sportsmanship both on and off the field. These student-athletes were selected by the head coaches from their respective teams.
Ursinus junior Erin Saybolt (Souderton) was named to the 2018 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.
Bloomsburg senior Jackie Shragher (Council Rock South) was named to the All-PSAC third team. Shragher, who earned her first collegiate postseason conference award, was a stalwart on the defensive end. She was named to the Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team in 2015. Shragher posted one assist on the year, which came in a 5-1 win over Seton Hill on Nov. 10. The win enabled the Huskies to clinch the final postseason spot on the final day of the regular season. She led the team with three defensive saves, putting her in a tie for third in the PSAC in that category. All told, Shragher played in all 76 games in her four-year career and finished with two goals and two assists for six points while posting 11 defensive saves.
FOOTBALL
Alvernia University freshman running back Malcolm Carey (Bensalem) earned first team All-Middle Atlantic
Conference honors. Carey is one of just four freshmen to earn the honor and is the only freshman to earn offensive first team honors. Carey led Alvernia’s offense and was second in the MAC with 102.3 yards per game. He scored 12 touchdowns on the year and was fourth in the MAC in total touchdowns and points per game (7.2). Carey rushed for over 200 yards on two occasions with 230 against Misericorida and 252 yards against University of New England in the season finale. Carey also posted five touchdowns for the Golden Wolves against Misericordia. The running back averaged 7.27 receiving yards per game for Alvernia.
Carey was named Alvernia Male Athlete of the Week for his performance during the week ending Nov. 11. The Bensalem grad ran for a career-high 252 yards on 46 carries with two touchdowns at the University of New England in the final game of Alvernia’s inaugural season. He went for a 40-yard run on the first drive of the game that ended in a touchdown. He scored in the second quarter to give Alvernia a 21-14 lead, and he added the last touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter on a bruising 19-yard run.

Ursinus College junior safety Jack Spingler (Neshaminy) was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team. The Neshaminy graduate, a second team All-CC selection as a freshman, had 40 tackles (3.5 for a loss) and recovered a fumble.
Ursinus College junior quarterback Thomas Garlick (Quakertown) earned All-Centennial Conference
honorable mention recognition. Garlick has thrown for 2,772 yards on 194 completions this season to become the program’s all-time record holder in both categories. His 17 touchdowns are a career high, and the mobile signal-caller has added 299 yards and six touchdowns on the ground to go over 1,000 yards rushing for his career.
Garlick accounted for four touchdowns and added a package of new records to his historic junior season in Ursinus College’s 70-14 win over Misericordia last Saturday. Garlick finished 17-of-25 for a career-high 365 yards to break the all-time mark held by Frank Vecchio (2000) with 2,772 and earned MVP honors. Garlick set a Centennial Conference record with 341 yards in the first half, eventually edging past Vecchio’s standard on a 29-yard strike to senior Alec Vera (Quakertown) late in the second quarter. Garlick completed passes to seven different receivers. Junior Zach Gravelle (Quakertown) had three catches for a career-high 90 yards.
Shippensburg University redshirt senior defensive lineman Josh Lister (Souderton) earned First Team Google Cloud Academic All-District Super Region 1 honors, a prestigious scholastic award sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors Association of America (CoSIDA). Lister is a senior mathematics major who boasts a 3.53 cumulative grade point average. The honor is the first Academic All-District classification of his career. In his final season of competition, Lister set new single-season career highs in three major statistical categories, totaling 36 tackles (25 solo), nine tackles-for-loss (TFLs) and 5.0 sacks. He also blocked a kick. His totals ranked him fourth on the team in sacks and fifth in TFLs. Overall, Lister contributed multiple tackles in nine games – including a season-high eight tackles at Bloomsburg. He notched multiple sacks against Slippery Rock and Millersville and posted at least one TFL in the first five games of the season. The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Football Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Shippensburg redshirt senior defensive lineman John Durkin (Central Bucks West) earned second team All-PSAC honors. Durkin set single-season career highs in three major categories, posting 30 tackles (15 solo), 12.0 TFLs and nine sacks. The nine sacks are second among Red Raiders and rank sixth in the conference. His 0.82 sacks per game ranked ninth in the PSAC and 26th in the country. Over the course of his last two seasons in an SU uniform, Durkin totaled 21 TFLs – including 15 sacks.
Kutztown redshirt senior captain Craig Reynolds (Abington) was named to All-PSAC first team at running
back. The do-it-all tailback was voted to the first team for the third consecutive year. Reynolds had a historic final campaign. He became the program’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns (35) in the victory at Edinboro. A two-year captain, Reynolds rushed for 887 yards and 15 TDs. He also caught three TDs and tallied 472 receiving yards. The 18 total TDs ranks third in the PSAC. In KU career record books, Reynolds ranks fourth all-time in rush yards (2,650) and second in all-purpose yards (5,277).
Kutztown junior linebacker Luke Snyder (Pennsbury) earned his second straight All-PSAC second team defense honor. The Pennsbury graduate appeared in nine of KU’s 10 games this season, making 53 total tackles and forcing a team-high two fumbles. Snyder now has 111 career tackles in his three seasons in Maroon and Gold, adding 11.5 tackles-for-loss.
Reynolds finished with 59 yards and a touchdown and also was second on the team in receiving with seven catches for 75 yards in Kutztown’s 40-26 loss to Hillsdale College in the NCAA first round last Saturday. Reynolds ranks third all-time in KU lore with 2650 career rushing yards and is second with 5,277 career all-purpose yards. Reynolds is the school’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns with 35.
Tight end Chris Myarick (Cheltenham) had a five-yard touchdown reception in Temple’s 57-7 win over the University of Connecticut on Saturday.
Widener junior Andrew Thomas (North Penn) was named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District team. Thomas was second team All-MAC after receiving first team honors in 2017. He started seven games this year and 18 in a row at right tackle before suffering a season-ending injury. The senior engineering major has a 3.91 GPA and was
named Academic All-MAC and a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selection last year.
Widener senior Vince Char (William Tennent) earned All-Middle Atlantic Conference honorable mention recognition. The William Tennent graduate finished fourth on Widener with 56 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks.
Mike Class (Pennridge) had 52 rushing yards and one touchdown and also caught a team-best six passes for 48 yards in No. 8 West Chester’s 35-28 loss to New Haven in the
first round of the NCAA Super Region 1 playoffs last Saturday.
West Chester junior Frank Tranzilli (North Penn) earned All-PSAC second team honors. The North Penn graduate was a key contributor on a formidable offensive line that finished atop the East with 2,149 yards rushing and led the PSAC in average yards rushing per game (214.9).

Sophomore Daniel Gindrod (Neshaminy) contributed an assist on a goal that broke a scoreless tie and turned
out to be the game-winner in West Chester’s 2-0 win over Adelphi last Friday that booked the Golden Rams a spot in the NCAA Division II final four. Grindrod collected a headed flick from a long goal kick by Will Marshall, ran through several defenders and found teammate Doug Goitia – who scored the go-ahead goal – in the box with a pass through traffic. West Chester – making its first appearance in the Final Four as a Division II team – will face second-seeded Cal Poly-Pomona on Thursday in a semifinal.
Shippensburg University senior forward Cole Kropnick (Wissahickon) was named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Atlantic Region Men’s Soccer First Team. Kropnick finished the regular season tied for the conference’s lead in goals with 11 despite playing in just 13 matches. His 26 points (11 goals, four assists) paced the PSAC this season. He produced three game-winning goals and began his season with at least one goal in nine of his first 10 matches.
Ursinus sophomore Jacob Helwig (Central Bucks South) was named to the 2018 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.

Holy Family University senior Bree Rock (Bensalem) was selected to the Division II Conference Commissioners
Association (C2CCA) Women’s Soccer All-East Region first team for the third consecutive season. The teams were voted on by the Sports Information Directors of the East Region. Rock is now eligible for the Division II All-America team. It was another career season for Rock as she totaled a career-high 19 goals to go along with six assists. She finished the season with a career-best 44 points. Her 19 goals are currently third most in the East Region and 11th nationally while her 44 points are ranked second most in the region and 11th among the D-II leaders. Rock finished her career as the program’s third highest scorer with 124 career points. She also finished tied for third with 52 career goals. In the program’s Division II era, Rock is tops in both categories. In addition, she concluded her career as the program’s all-time leader with 21 game-winning goals. This postseason Rock has already been named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) second team as well as the CACC All-Tournament team. She helped lead the Tigers to the CACC Championship game for the 12th time in program history as Holy Family finished its season with a 12-5-1 overall record.

Kutztown University junior Kristina Miller (North Penn) was named to the All-Atlantic Region First team by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and voted on by the region’s sports information directors. Miller achieved her third postseason honor after being voted an all-PSAC first teamer and CoSIDA Academic All-District. The junior captain started all 20 games this season and each of the last 41 games within the last two seasons in the center of the KU defense. She scored a career-high three goals this season. The North Penn graduate was the rock of a KU defense that allowed just nine goals this season, which is the least in a season in program history.
Junior Jessica Milligan (Pennridge) collected the assist – her first of the year – in Bloomsburg’s 2-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan last Friday in the 2018 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship.

Mark Preedy (William Tennent) finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a season best time 1:01.59 in Arcadia’s tri-meet sweep of Drew (133-129) and Elizabethtown (138-124).
IUP freshman Ryan Hartmann (North Penn) finished fifth in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 22.96 at Cleveland State’s seventh annual Magnus Cup last Sunday. On Saturday at the Magnus Cup, Hartmann set a men’s freshman record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.89 in the preliminaries. He was part of the 200 medley relay that finished seventh and the 800 freestyle relay that finished ninth. On the first day of the Magnus Cup, Hartmann finished sixth in the 200 IM with a time of 1:53.25.
Shippensburg junior Jeff Beyer (Wissahickon) placed 16th with a time of 1:43.97 in the 200 butterfly at the 2018 Patriot Invitational held at George Mason University last Saturday. On day one of the Patriot Invite, Beyer completed the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:40.10 to finish 14th.
Penn State sophomore Bryce Hoch (North Penn) punched his NCAA Zone ticket in the 1-meter with a score of 302.10 on the final day of the Navy Diving Invitational. He was just shy of making the final cut, finishing 13th in the prelims with a score of 288.45.

Gettysburg freshman Cate Kosko (Pennsbury) finished third in both the 50 (25.90) and 100 freestyle (56.23) in Gettysburg’s 141-121 loss to No. 18 Ursinus College last Saturday.
Rachel Samson (Council Rock North) finished first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.83 in Arcadia’s tri-meet sweep of Drew (136-126) and Elizabethtown (173-89). She also was part of the winning 200 freestyle that posted a time of 1:43.59.
Shippensburg freshmen Olivia Guthy (Cheltenham) and Natalie Wiley (Bensalem) each achieved PSAC qualifiers in the 200 breaststroke with Guthy posting a time of 2:35.10 while Wiley touched the wall in 2:36.41 at the Patriot Invitational last Saturday. On day two of the Patriot Invitational, Guthy posted an PSAC qualifying time of 2:00.64 in the 200 freestyle while Wiley earned an individual conference qualifier in the 100 breaststroke, posting the fastest time among Raider swimmers in 1:10.13.
Widener junior Sammy Grogan (Council Rock North) was 13th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:32.06 at the F&M Invitational last Saturday. On day one of the F&M Invitational, Grogan was part of the 400 medley relay that placed eighth with a time of 4:04.19.
Kutztown sophomore Alison McLaughlin (North Penn) posted a season-best and PSAC qualifying time of 55.63 in the 100 freestyle at the F&M Invitational. She also had PSAC qualifying times in the 50 free (25.46) and 200 freestyle (2:00.84). The North Penn graduate was also part of the 200 freestyle relay that posted a PSAC qualifying time of 1:39.64 that is ninth all-time.

Senior Candyce Riley (Hatboro-Horsham) had five digs to cap her career with 1,091 digs, sixth most in program history, in Holy Family’s 3-0 loss to American International College in the NCAA Division II East Region Championship last Saturday.

Gettysburg junior Colin Devlin (Upper Dublin) recorded his 22nd career pin 48 seconds into the second round at 149 at the McDaniel College Duals last Sunday.
Mikey O’Brien (North Penn) earned a 4-3 decision at 165 and Jeff Reimel (North Penn) notched a 7-3 decision at 184 in No. 16 Kutztown’s 23-15 loss to No. 6 Pitt-Johnstown in its PSAC opener on Tuesday.
