Freshman Aaron Burton (Cheltenham) scored a game and season-high 24 points to lead DeSales University to its fifth straight win on Saturday, a 78-57 victory over King’s College. Burton shot 9-for-12 from the field and pulled down six boards in the win. In Wednesday’s 90-77 win at Eastern, Burton scored seven points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Senior Travis Bryan (Hatboro-Horsham) finished with six points, five rebounds and five blocks.
Junior forward Jaylen Bond (Plymouth Whitemarsh) led all players with 10 rebounds in Temple’s 55-37 win over Tulane on Saturday.
Junior Julian Hyden (Bensalem) contributed 15 points, five rebounds and three assists in Gwynedd Mercy’s 85-62 win over Rosemont on Saturday.
Junior Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) scored all 18 of his team-high 18 points in the second half to help spark a 37-18 burst that erased a six-point halftime deficit and propelled No. 7 Villanova to a 68-55 win over DePaul on Saturday. In last Sunday’s 71-50 win over Creighton, Arcidiacono had 10 points.
Wes Brooks (North Penn) had three assists and four steals to go with four points in McDaniel’s 61-50 loss to Muhlenberg on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 65-59 loss to Johns Hopkins, Brooks chipped in four points and three steals.
Junior forward Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) had 18 points to go along with a team-best eight rebounds in Washington College’s 97-56 loss to No. 5 Dickinson on Saturday.
Senior Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 10 of his team-high 16 points in the second half of eighth-ranked Randolph Macon’s 72-68 win over Lynchburg on Saturday to extend its win streak to 14 games. In Wednesday’s 58-55 win over Bridgewater, Badger paced the Yellow Jackets with eight points and three assists.
Evan Dunn (Central Bucks West) pulled down a career-high nine rebounds in Albright’s 78-77 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday.
Josh Johnson (Norristown) pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and also had nine points in Kutztown’s quadruple overtime 97-96 loss to West Chester on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 70-67 road victory over Mansfield, Johnson scored a career-high 26 points, 18 in the second half. He shot an effective 9-for-13 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line. It marks his most free throws made in a game with a perfect percentage. It marked the third time in the last five games he topped the 20-point mark.
Anthony Moe (Souderton) contributed 22 points and 18 rebounds in Millersville’s 61-58 victory over PSAC East leader East Stroudsburg on Saturday. The win snapped ESU’s six-game winning streak and held the team to its fewest points in more than two seasons. Moe’s 18 boards were the most by a Marauder since December of 2012. He also recorded two blocks. Eight of his boards came on the offensive glass, which helped Millersville total 16 second chance points.
Senior guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 14 points in East Stroudsburg’s 61-58 loss to Millersville on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 109-70 win over Lock Haven, Grant scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Junior forward Carley Kendall (Souderton) scored a career-high and game-best 26 points in Washington College’s 63-45 win over Dickinson on Saturday. The 26 points by Kendall were the most points by a Shorewoman since Sally O’Donnell netted 27 points on Dec. 12, 2009, in a win at Ramapo. Kendall previously set her career-high of 17 points when the Shorewomen topped Dickinson 65-47 on Jan. 7. In Thursday’s 74-66 loss to McDaniel, Kendall scored 14 points.
Junior Ciara Andrews (Cheltenham) finished with nine points, two assists, six rebounds and two steals in Saint Joseph’s 57-52 win over Davidson on Saturday. In Thursday’s 52-51 loss at Saint Louis, Andrews had six points and a team-high five assists.
Junior Steph Knauer (North Penn) scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field and pulled down nine rebounds in Shippensburg’s 65-64 loss to No. 18 Bloomsburg on Saturday. Freshman Vicky Tumasz (North Penn) scored six points off the bench, connecting on 2-of-5 three-point attempts. She also had two steals.
Kimmy Green (Central Bucks South) scored a team-high eight points in Marywood University’s 62-29 win over Cairn University on Wednesday.
Senior Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) contributed 11 points and 13 rebounds in Alvernia’s 64-54 loss to Susquehanna on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 69-66 loss to Arcadia, Roberts scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Emily O’Donnell (William Tennent) contributed nine points and eight rebounds in Albright’s 70-60 loss to Lebanon Valley on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 72-58 win over Widener, O’Donnell came off the bench to grab a game-high 11 rebounds. She made two free throws to give the Lions a lead they would not lose at 51-50 with 8:39 left in the game.
Freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton) scored 14 points in Widener’s 65-61 win over Messiah on Saturday.
Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) scored 20 points in Cairn University’s 84-30 loss to Centenary on Saturday. Eppolito went 5-for-12 from three-point range. In Wednesday’ 62-29 loss to Marywood, Eppolito scored 21 of her team’s 29 points.
Jessica Schmidt (Abington) scored 14 points on 7-of-15 shooting and also had 14 rebounds, five steals and three blocks in Penn State Abington’s 60-39 loss to Gallaudet on Saturday. In last Sunday’s 76-49 win over Bryn Athyn, Schmidt finished with a game-high 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting. She also had seven rebounds.
Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) netted a team-high 17 points while also grabbing six rebounds in No. 19/21 Princeton’s 83-65 win over Dartmouth College on Saturday. The win extended the Tigers’ winning streak to 19 games. In Friday’s 96-46 rout of Harvard, Wheatley finished with 15 points.
Senior guard Shayla Felder (Cheltenham) contributed 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in Chestnut Hill’s 70-50 win at Dominican College on Saturday. In Thursday’s 75-67 loss to Wilmington University, Felder, who scored 15 of her 17 points after halftime, made 6-of-8 field goal attempts in the second half and added four assists and two steals.
MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Penn State senior TJ Schenkel (Council Rock South) claimed gold in the three-meter dive for the third time in as many meets at the Bison Invite on Saturday. His 330.30 was the second best mark he achieved all season. He finished second in the 1-meter event with a score of 275.45.
Zach Brech (Upper Dublin) was part of Towson’s second place 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:26.76 at the Bison Invite hosted by Bucknell University on Saturday.
Senior Ashton Leyens (Upper Dublin) was part of the winning 200 medley relay in 19th-ranked Gettysburg’s 175-87 win over Swarthmore College on Senior Day on Saturday.
Ben Mancini (Springfield) posted a first place time of 17:29.64 in the 1650 free in Washington & Jefferson’s 136-124 loss to Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday.
Eric Jensen (Upper Dublin) was part of the winning 200 medley relay team and won the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.44 in the University of Buffalo’s 160-132 win over St. Bonaventure on Friday.
Andrew Richey (William Tennent) was part of IUP’s winning 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:36.32 in Saturday’s Tri-Meet Invite that included wins over Bloomsburg and Gannon. He also captured first place in the 50 free with a time of 21:61.
CJ Gimpel (Central Bucks South) finished first in the 1-meter dive in La Salle’s 160.5-131.5 loss to Penn on Saturday. He finished second on the 3-meter board with a score of 258.68.
Evan Sherkness (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was part of the first place 200 free relay team that posted a winning time of 1:25.07 in West Chester’s 172-122 loss to Penn on Friday night.
Pat Stasio (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of Bloomsburg’s winning 800 free relay that posted a time of 7:09.13 at the IUP Crimson Hawk Dual Challenge on Saturday. The Huskies beat Gannon 215-75 while falling to IUP 170-162. On Friday, Stasio finished fourth in the 50 free (21.99).
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Towson junior Natalee Szopo (Upper Moreland) placed third in the three-meter diving with a score of 248.45 at the Bison Invite hosted by Bucknell University on Saturday.
Eve Kosten (North Penn) was part of the winning 400 free relay that posted a time of 3:25.97 and gave the University of Buffalo a 154-146 win over previously undefeated Bowling Green on Saturday.
Rachel Engelhardt (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of thee second place 200 IM relay in Elizabethtown’s 135-124 loss to Frostburg State in Friday’s regular season finale. She also finished second in the 100 and 200 free events.
IUP’s Caroline Rudkin (Upper Dublin) earned a PSAC qualifying time in Saturday’s Tri-Meet Invite that included victories over Bloomsburg and Gannon.
Freshman Megan Berardelli (Wissahickon) placed first in the 1-meter dive event with 257.77 points in Marist’s 163-137 win over Binghamton on Saturday. In last Sunday’s 159-141 win over Seton Hall, Berardelli finished third in the 1-meter dive with 253.88 points and captured second in the 3-meter event with 264.60 in Marist’s 159-141 win over Seton Hall last Sunday.
Senior Kate Dillione (Council Rock North) continued her success in the 200 free with a first place finish in Brown’s 158-142 win over Cornell on Saturday. She also won the 100 free.
Sophomore Rachel Saunders (Central Bucks West) placed third in both the 1-meter dive (271.5) and 3-meter dive (271.90) on day one of Pitt’s five-team meet against California (Pa.), Duquesne, Carnegie Mellon and Clarion.
Shippensburg junior Carolyn Meier (Upper Dublin) was a top eight finisher in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.22 at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday. She posted a time of 2:16.52 in the 200 IM.
Kutztown sophomore Aimee Watkins (Hatboro-Horsham) had herself a career day at the ESU Invitational on Saturday. In the 1650 free, Watkins placed first with a time of 18:30.93, a new PSAC cut and ninth fastest time in KU history. She also turned in a personal record in the 500 free, placing fourth in 5:40.61. Teammate Caitlyn Falguera (Hatboro-Horsham) recorded season-best times in both of her events. In the 200 back, Falguera tapped the wall in 2:22.66 to finish fifth, and she placed eighth in the 100 back (1:07.65).
West Chester junior Dani Barron (Pennridge) finished sixth in the 1000 freestyle in West Chester’s 187-107 non-league loss to Penn on Friday.
Alex Wheatley (Upper Dublin) finished first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:11.74 in Bloomsburg’s 151-103 win over East Stroudsburg on Sunday afternoon. She also was part of the first place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:50.24. In the IUP Crimson Hawk Dual Challenge, Wheatley was part of the second place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:50.14. She also was part of the winning 400 medley relay that posted a time of 4:01.06. Wheatley finished second in the 200 back (2:12.53). Bloomsburg defeated Gannon 216-113 while falling to IUP 187-145.
East Stroudsburg freshman Rebecca Samson (Council Rock North) finished eighth in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.48) and 11th in the 100 butterfly (1:07.71) at the ESU Invitational on Saturday. Shirley Samson (Council Rock North) finished 12th in the 100 butterfly (1:09.87) and 16th in the 50 free (28.80).

IUP’s Austin Cooper (Upper Merion) hit his PSAC qualifying mark with a time of 4:23.90 in the mile on the second day of Bucknell’s 17th annual Bison Open on Saturday. On Friday, Tim Lynch (Souderton) hit the PSAC qualifying mark in the 500 meter run with a time of 15:41.66.
St. Joseph University senior Matthew McGarvey (Central Bucks West) took the 800m title in an indoor personal-record 1:52.35, placing first in the field of 22 at the unscored 2015 Penn State National Invitational on Saturday. McGarvey earned his first individual IC4A qualification of the season with the performance, meeting the IC4A mark by over two seconds.
Widener senior Michael Quinn (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.86 at the John Covert Classic on the campus of Lehigh University.
Kutztown’s Chris Varichione (Quakertown) notched an existing PSAC cut in the weight throw, placing sixth with a 51-9 toss at the Bucknell Bison Open & Multi on Saturday. Ron Smith (Neshaminy) was part of Shippensburg’s 4×400 relay squad that finished third out of 26 teams with a time of 3:26.77. Smith finished ninth in the 400 meter run with a time of 52.30.
Chris Stancil (Bensalem) and Shawn Young (Central Bucks West) were part of West Chester’s first place 4×400 relay that clocked a time of 3:25.47 at the Bison Open & Multi on Saturday. Bryan Reice (Neshaminy) finished ninth in the 60-meter dash.
Bloomsburg’s Alex Moran (Pennridge) qualified for the consolation finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.28 at the Bison Open on Friday night. James Wilson (Central Bucks South) had a season-best run in the mile with a time of 4:36.69.
East Stroudsburg sophomore Sean Hagerty (Pennridge) was part of the fourth place 4×400 relay (3:34.39) at the John Covert Classic at Lehigh on Saturday. He finished 11th in the long jump (20-10) and 16th in the 60-meter dash (7.28).
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Tiffany Burrows (Quakertown) set a Messiah College mark in the 300 meter dash with a time of 43.54 at the Highlander/Multi/Open at Houghton on Saturday. Her time edged the hand-timed mark of 43.4 set by Anne Bolt in 1994.
Widener sophomore Alex Cucciarre (Souderton) won the shot put event with a throw of 12.98 meters (42-07) at the annual Widener Field Meet.
St. Joseph University senior Kayla Charles (North Penn) finished fifth in the pentathlon with 3,257 points at the unscored 2015 Penn State Invitational on Saturday. Charles took second in the 60H (9.05m), third in the long jump (5.29m), fourth in the 800m (2:28.18), tied for sixth in the high jump (1.53m) and 10th in the shot put (7.17m). Charles’ 800m performance marked the best of her four collegiate pentathlons.
Bloomsburg senior Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) finished first in the 5000-meter race with a time of 17:20.43 at the Bison Open at Bucknell University on Friday. She not only qualified for PSACs, but her time was also an NCAA Provisional mark. Teammate Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) finished with a time of 18:54.94 in the 5000-meter run and also qualified for PSACs. Sophomore Keelan McDonald (Central Bucks West) qualified for the PSAC championships in the 800-meter run with a time of 5:25.21 at the Bison Open on Saturday.
West Chester sophomore Moira Fox (Central Bucks West) was fifth with a time of 1:00.41 in the 400 meter dash at the 17th Annual Bison Open & Multi on Saturday. Emily Dusellier (Souderton) was part of the second place distance medley relay that posted a time of 12:25.41. She also was sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:22.08.
Kutztown’s Olivia Dettore (Central Bucks West) posted a season-best time of 11:24.21 in the 3000m at the Bison Open & Multi on Saturday. Danielle Chaney (Upper Dublin) finished 18th in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:02.23 and was part of the 4×400 relay that finished 13th with a time of 4:17.30.
Shippensburg freshman Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) tied for second fastest time among competitors in the 200 meters while posting a PR of 26.36 at the 17th Annual Bison Open held at Bucknell University on Friday. That time would rank her fifth in the PSAC among the early rankings. She was the only SU qualifier for the finals. She also was part of the 4×400 relay that posted a time of 3:58.12 that currently puts the Raiders second in the league rankings behind West Chester.
East Stroudsburg sophomore Kelley Anne Stuetz (Cheltenham) was a PSAC qualifier in the 60m hurdles (9.89) and high jump (5-1) at the John Covert Classic on Saturday at Lehigh University. She and Alexis Bell (Norristown) were part of the 4×400 relay that finished fifth with a time of 4:11.14. Bell finished 11th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.28. Mary-Kate Killoran (William Tennent) finished 16th in the 500-meter race with a time of 1:33.33.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Sophomore outside hitter Chrstian Lizana (Pennridge) contributed nine kills, including huge terminations over the last five points of the match in Vassar College’s 3-2 upset of No. 10 New York University in the team’s home opener on Thursday night. In Saturday’s 3-0 loss to No. 3 Springfield, Lizana led the offense with seven kills.
Andy Willits (North Penn) and Micah Godshall (Souderton) both registered nine kills and had a .353 hitting percentage in Cairn University’s 3-0 win over Southern Vermont College on Friday. In Saturday’s 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible College, Willits had nine kills while Godshall had eight. Cairn also defeated York College in its final match Saturday to capture. Willits led Cairn with nine kills. Godshall was named the MVP of the tournament. In Thursday’s 3-0 loss to Hunter College, Godshall had 12 kills. In Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to No. 2 Stevens Tech, Godshall had five kills.
WRESTLING
Senior Joe Stolfi (Souderton) earned a 6-2 decision over Harvard’s David Ng at 285 in No. 23 Bucknell’s 26-9 win over Harvard last Sunday. In Bucknell’s 28-10 win over Brown, Stolfi pinned Sebastien Levin at 2:50.
Richard Jasinki (Pennridge) was undefeated in nationally-ranked Ursinus College’s Centennial quad at home on Saturday. He notched a fall at 157 in 1:20 in the Bears’ 32-14 win over Merchant Marine and earned a forfeit win in the Bears’ 37-13 win over Washington & Lee. He earned a 6-1 decision in Ursinus’ 39-9 win over McDaniel.
Kutztown’s Matt Martoccio (Council Rock South) earned a win at 157 in 14th-ranked Kutztown’s 21-19 win over Gannon on Friday night. He scored two takedowns in the final period to lock down a 6-4 victory.
