Kadar Namey (North Penn) had an RBI double in St. Joseph’s 9-3 loss to VMI on Friday. In the Hawks’ 4-2 win over UNC Wilmington in game two of Friday’s twinbill, Namey delivered a sacrifice fly.
Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Gwynedd Mercy’s 7-2 loss to Salisbury last Sunday.
Sophomore Colin Kennedy (Hatboro-Horsham) struck out three and allowed three hits and one run (unearned) in four innings of relief in La Salle’s 7-3 loss to Charleston Southern on Saturday.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Senior Andre Mitchell (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 25 points and also had seven rebounds and four
assists in Catholic University’s 92-90 decision over Drew on Saturday. He totaled 1,174 points in 104 career games, finishing 25th on the team’s all-time scoring list. In Wednesday’s 75-60 victory over Goucher, Mitchell finished with 13 points, five rebounds and three steals. In last Saturday’s 87-78 loss to Susquehanna, Mitchell scored a team-high 20 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. He averaged 25.0 points in two games against the River Hawks this season after dropping 30, including the 1,000th of his career in the first meeting between the two teams on Jan. 19. In Catholic’s 61-53 win over Juniata, Mitchell had 15 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.
Freshman Jesse Rivera (Central Bucks East) finished in double figures for the first time this season in Cairn University’s 78-71 win over the University of Valley Forge. The CB East graduate had 11 points.
Damien Washington (Upper Moreland) contributed 11 points, three rebounds and a blocked shot in Delaware Valley University’s 85-70 loss to Wilkes University on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 80-73 loss to FDU-Florham, Washington scored 19 points. In Delaware Valley’s 69-41 win over King’s College, Washington recorded a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Senior Matt Penecale (Abington) led all players with six assists in West Chester’s 91-56 win over Mansfield on
Wednesday. The win gave the Golden Rams their program record 14th victory in a row. In last Saturday’s 85-67 win over Kutztown, Penecale put up 13 points, six rebounds and a team-high six assists. Prior to the game, Penecale was presented with two commemorative basketballs in recognition of the Abington grad scoring his 1,000th career point and becoming West Chester’s all-time career assists leader. In West Chester’s 82-64 win over Millersville, Penecale chipped in 12 points and a team-high five assists.
Kutztown redshirt senior Anthony Lee (Abington) was named to the 2019 Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Media Organization Team of the Year on Thursday. He also earned the Pete Nevins Player of the Year award, giving KU its second winner in a row. Lee leads the PSAC in scoring at 27.1 points per game, which ranks fourth in Division II. He also ranks in the top 10 in the conference in field goal percentage (10th, 52 percent), three-point percentage (fourth, 42 percent), free throw percentage (second, 88.8 percent), three-pointers made (first, 74), assists (eighth, 4.3), blocks (seventh, 1.1), steals (10th, 1.7) and minutes (10th, 35.8). Lee is a two-year captain, a three-time All
-PSAC East member and a 2018 All-Atlantic Region Second Teamer. He holds the school record for points in a game (50), three-pointers made in a game (eight), season (83) and career (230) and three-point percentage in a season (.516) and career (.495). He ranks second all-time in KU history and seventh in PSAC history with 2,120 points.
Lee was honored prior to Saturday’s 86-61 win over Mansfield with a commemorative ball for his 2,000-point milestone and a plaque for earning a spot on the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Media Team of the Year and receiving the Pete Nevins Player of the Year Award. He led the way with a game-high 29 points and added 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. He also had six assists, one block and three steals. In last Saturday’s 85-67 loss at West Chester, Lee battled foul trouble and was held in check by the Golden Rams’ defense, finishing with a season-low 13 points. He attempted just seven shots. He was 3-of-6 from long range. It was the lowest point total for Lee since he scored 11 against Shippensburg on Feb. 12, 2018. His streak of consecutive games in double figures grows to 53 straight. In KU’s 99-77 win over Bloomsburg, Lee tallied a game-high 27 points, just missing a triple-double with eight assists and six rebounds to go along with two steals and a block.
Senior Zack Muredda (Pennridge) finished with eight points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in Ursinus College’s 81-78 win over Muhlenberg on Wednesday. In the Bears’ 83-67 loss to Washington College, Muredda had a career-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He made 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Evan Slone (Souderton) scored eight points in Arcadia University’s 91-81 loss to Hood on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 75-62 victory at Lebanon Valley, which was a school record 20th win, Slone shared team scoring honors with 16 points. In Arcadia’s 69-67 win at Alvernia, Slone scored 11 points and blocked two shots.
Junior Tracy Simsick (Souderton) handed out a career and game-high seven assists in DeSales University’s 73-61 win over Delaware Valley on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 76-60 win over Misericordia, Simsick had nine points. In DeSales’ 91-83 win over Manhattanville, Simsick tallied 16 points, which included four three-pointers.
Senior guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had 19 points and three rebounds in Moravian’s 83-75 victory at Elizabethtown on Saturday. Murray is seventh in school history with 1,477 points. In Wednesday’s 98-89 win at Susquehanna, Murray netted 14 points. In last Saturday’s 93-73 victory over Goucher College, Murray had 15 points, six rebounds and two assists. In Moravian’s 86-80 overtime loss at Scranton, Murray had nine points, five assists and three steals.
AJ Catanzaro (North Penn) scored 13 points in Lebanon Valley’s 75-62 loss to Arcadia last Saturday. He led the team with six rebounds.
Shaw University junior Amir Hinton (Abington) was named the BOXTOROW National Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 3. Hinton was coming off a 40-point performance on 15-of-21 shooting that helped the
Bears to an 87-84 road win at Johnson C. Smith, marking his fourth game with at least 40 points this season. During Shaw’s three-game span last week, Hinton averaged 33.7 points, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals as the Bears claimed three victories for a 5-2 mark in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division race. Hinton leads the nation and the CIAA in scoring, averaging 31.0 points per game. He also leads the nation in free throw attempts (307) and free throws made (273). Hinton has 724 points this season and is just 29 points away from reaching the 2,000-point milestone. He made an appearance as a special guest on this weekend’s nationally syndicated sports talk show From the Press Box to Press Row with Donal Ware.
Hinton scored a game-high 20 points and also had eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in Shaw’s 72-63 win over Winston-Salem State on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 78-67 loss to Livingstone, Hinton was held to a season-low 17 points. In Shaw’s 96-87 loss to Virginia State, Hinton notched 43 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Junior Riley Thompson (Council Rock North) contributed seven points in 20 minutes of action in Ithaca’s 89-62 road victory at Vassar College on Saturday. In Friday’s 87-83 road win at Bard College, Thompson netted 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor to go along with five assists. In last Friday’s 97-67 victory at Clarkson University, Thompson tallied 23 points and seven boards. The CR North grad was 8-for-14 overall and 4-for-4 at the foul line. In Ithaca’s 82-70 win over RIT, Thompson met his season average with 19 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range and a 7-of-8 effort at the foul line.
Junior John Ryan (William Tennent) scored nine points in Penn State Abington’s 85-78 upset win over NEAC South power Lancaster Bible College on Saturday. In Thursday’s 91-66 win over the College of St. Elizabeth, Ryan netted 23 points and also had seven boards. In last Sunday’s 87-67 loss to SUNY Cobleskill, Ryan had a season-high 16 points. In last Saturday’s 76-60 loss to SUNY Poly, Ryan had 10 points.
Senior Mekhi Bryant (Pennsbury) totaled a season-high 10 points and four steals in Holy Family’s 88-79 loss to the University of the Sciences on Wednesday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Junior forward Makenzie Mason (Central Bucks West) recorded her seventh double-double of the season in the University of Scranton’s 69-46 win at Goucher on Saturday. The CB West grad finished with 19 points and a career-high 18 rebounds, nine offensive and nine defensive. It is the most rebounds in a game for a Lady Royals’ player since 2013. In last Saturday’s 63-48 victory over Juniata, Mason scored a game-high 17 points. It is the ninth time she led the Lady Royals in scoring this season. Mason, who nailed three three-pointers, also had four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. In Scranton’s 72-51 win over Moravian, Mason had 11 points.
Senior Nicole Munger (Central Bucks West) scored 11 points, which included a perfect 4-for-4 at the foul line over the last half-minute, in the University of Michigan’s 67-58 win over Indiana on Thursday. In last Sunday’s 66-62 win at Penn State, Munger scored nine points – four in a late 10-2 run. She also had five rebounds and two steals.
Sophomore Lexi Edwards (Central Bucks South) contributed 11 points and five rebounds in Cabrini’s 75-67 win over Neumann on Wednesday. It was the Blue and White’s 10th consecutive win. In last Saturday’s 80-59 win over Immaculata, Edwards had 14 points. In Cabrini’s 74-54 win over Wesley College, Edwards contributed 15 points and four rebounds.
Freshman Taylor O’Brien (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 10 points off the bench in Bucknell’s 76-58 victory over Colgate on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 75-43 win over Lafayette, O’Brien contributed 10 points.
Junior Allison Chernow (Upper Dublin) scored 12 points and also had seven rebounds and four assists in Emory’s 63-58 loss to Case Western Reserve on Friday.
Sophomore Lizzie Oleary (Abington) collected six points and eight rebounds in the University of Delaware’s 58-41 loss to Drexel last Sunday.
Junior Lydia Konstanzer (Pennridge) scored nine points in Ursinus College’s 75-53 loss to Johns Hopkins on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 53-52 win over Muhlenberg, Konstanzer poured in 23 points and snatched 14 rebounds on the way to her 33rd career double-double, which ties the top mark in program history. In the Bears’ 82-70 loss to No. 23 Gettysburg, Konstanzer scored a game-high 28 points and connected on her first three-pointer of the season. She also had nine rebounds.
Freshman Samantha Brusha (Abington) scored 17 points in Millersville’s 84-75 loss to West Chester.
Irisa Ye (North Penn) tallied 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting and Jess Huber (North Penn) added eight points off the bench in the University of the Sciences 67-44 win over Nyack on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 65-52 win at Holy Family, Ye scored nine points. In last Saturday’s 82-46 victory over Concordia, Ye contributed 11 points and five assists. Mikaela Giuliani (North Penn) had four assists. In USciences 70-59 win over undefeated Jefferson, Ye shared team scoring honors with 22 points, 15 in the second half. She also had seven rebounds, tying teammate Jordan Vitelli (Central Bucks South).
Freshman guard Abbey Spratt (Central Bucks West) scored 10 points and freshman forward Bri Hewlett (North Penn) had eight points and nine rebounds in Chestnut Hill’s 93-54 victory over Felician University on Saturday.
Taylor Dunn (Central Bucks South) scored a team-high 19 points, which included a 4-of-6 showing from beyond the arc, in Arcadia’s 68-53 win at Hood on Saturday. She also stuffed the stat sheet with six rebounds, four blocks, three assists and three steals. In Tuesday’s 67-54 win over Widener, Dunn led the Knights with 20 points and nine rebounds. In last Saturday’s 52-46 win at Lebanon Valley, Dunn narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. In Arcadia’s 60-43 win over Alvernia, Dunn led the Knights with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-7 from long range. She also had five assists.
Bridget Birkhead (Central Bucks East) scored 14 points, connecting on 4-of-7 from long range, in Mount St. Mary’s 61-55 win over previously unbeaten Robert Morris on Saturday. In Monday’s 71-61 loss to LIU Brooklyn, Birkhead had five points, three rebounds, one block and two steals.
Widener junior Devan Rimmer (Pennridge) was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week for the
week ending Feb. 10. It is the third time this season she received the honor. Rimmer scored 32 points on 13-of-23 shooting in a 71-70 win over Stevenson to clinch a postseason berth. The junior was 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. She added two rebounds, a steal and an assist.
Rimmer scored a team-high 23 points in Widener’s 68-67 win over Lycoming on Saturday. It was her 12th game this season with 20 or more points and gives her 500 points for the season. She ends the regular season leading the MAC Commonwealth in scoring at 20.0 points per game. In Tuesday’s 67-54 loss to Arcadia, Rimmer led the Pride with 20 points, including a trio of three-pointers.
Aigner Bookard (Cheltenham) scored 10 points in Cairn University’s 69-62 win over the Wilson Phoenix on Saturday. With the win, Cairn clinched a home playoff game Monday night. In Cairn’s 57-55 victory over Cedar Crest College, Bookard, who finished with 11 points, knocked down a short jumper with six seconds remaining in regulation for the game-winner.
Cassidy Quattro (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed 10 points and eight rebounds in Washington College’s 63-59 win over Dickinson on Saturday.
Sophomore Sabria Lytes (Harry S Truman) contributed 11 points off the bench, shooting 5-for-6 from the floor, in Jefferson University’s 74-46 win over Concordia on Saturday. In Jefferson’s 70-59 loss to the University of the Sciences, junior Alynna Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed eight points, four rebounds and two steals.
Taylor Thames (North Penn) had 10 points in Kutztown’s 93-76 win over Salem University on Wednesday. Gabbi Wright (Cheltenham) had four points, nine rebounds and four assists. In last Saturday’s 64-53 loss to West Chester, Thames, who was a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor, tied a season-high with 14 points. In Millersville’s 70-65 victory over Bloomsburg, Thames had six points.
SOFTBALL
Junior Meghan Klee (Quakertown) had an RBI double in Shippensburg’s 6-1 victory over Georgian Court on Sunday. The win capped a 3-1 weekend for the Raiders at the 2019 Snowbird Softball Freeze Out in Myrtle Beach. Klee had a big weekend at the plate, posting a .583 batting average (7-for-12) over four games with six RBIs, and stolen base and three runs scored. In Shippensburg’s sweep of LeMoyne and Felician on Friday, Klee went 4-for-6 with a double, four RBIs, a walk, a sacrifice fly and a stolen base.
Sara Keeny (William Tennent) was 6-for-8, which included a four-hit game against Southern New Hampshire, in a pair of games on the final day of the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament in Myrtle Beach. She also had two runs, two RBIs and a home run. In Saturday’s 9-2 win over New Haven, Cheyenne Jones (Harry S Truman) was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, home run and five RBIs. Keeny was 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. In Friday’s 13-5 win in five innings over Goldey-Beacom, Jones was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Keeny was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Amber Brugger (Neshaminy) earned the win in the circle and also was 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs.
Redshirt freshman Marissa Govan (William Tennent) had a pair of hits in East Stroudsburg’s 6-4 loss to St. Thomas in Miami Shores, Fla., last week. In a 12-9 loss to Barry, Govan was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, home run, three RBIs and three runs scored.
MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Senior Tyler Chamberlin (Springfield Township) was part of Albright’s 400 medley relay that set a MAC record at the 2019 MAC Championships on Saturday with a time of 3:25.36, breaking the previous MAC record of 3:27.40 that had been set in 2015. The 3:25.36 is also the 23rd fastest time in all of Division III this season. Chamberlin also captured the 100 breaststroke for the second time in three years with a time of 56.91. On day one of the MAC Championships Thursday, Chamberlin was part of the 200 medley relay that broke the previous school record of 1:34.18 and the previous MAC record of 1:33.78 with a winning time of 1:32.93, which is also the 23rd fastest time in all of Division III this season.
Arcadia junior Mark Preedy (William Tennent) won silver in the 100 breaststroke at the 2019 MAC Championships, posting a time of 58.27, which is a new program record. On day two of the MAC Championships Saturday, Preedy finished fourth in the 50 free, setting a new program record in the event with a time of 21.38 and breaking the previous mark of 21.43. He also was part of the fourth place 200 freestyle relay that finished with a time of 1:26.19. On day one of the championships Thursday, Preedy was part of the first place 800 free relay time that posted a time of 6:55.11. With the win, the 800 free relay team earned First Team All-MAC honors.
Ridge Hagar (North Penn) was part of Messiah’s fifth place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:37.52 at the 2019 MAC Championships on Saturday. Hagar also qualified to swim in the championship final in the 50 freestyle. His time of 21.88 in the finals was good for a seventh place finish.
Ursinus senior Thomas Bantley (Upper Dublin) notched a new PR in the 100 backstroke (2:05.88) at the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday.
West Chester freshman Daniel Han (Central Bucks South) finished third in the 50 free with a time of 21.56 on the second day of the NYU Invitational last Saturday. Will Gallagher (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was close behind with a time of 21.95. On day one of the invitational, Han placed fifth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.46 while Gallagher was right behind in sixth with a time of 48.68. Both were PSAC qualifying times.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Arcadia junior Rachel Samson (Council Rock North) finished sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:50.65 in the A final at the 2019 MAC Swimming Championships on Saturday. On day two of the championships on Friday, Samson was part of the 200 freestyle relay that earned a bronze medal with a time of 1:40.20 to earn third team all-conference honors. Samson also competed in the B final of the 200 IM, finishing in 12th with a time of 2:15.61. On day one of the championships Thursday, Samson was part of the third place 800 freestyle relay that finished with a time of 7:57.19, earning Third Team All-MAC honors.
Margrethe Leis (Springfield Township) finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:18.87 in Ursinus College’s 112-75 win over Bryn Mawr last Saturday. Sophomore Katelyn Moore (Hatboro-Horsham) was second in the 500 free with a time of 5:37.98, and Stephanie Chell (Central Bucks East) finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:25.00.
Widener sophomore Sammy Grogan (Council Rock North) placed fifth with her 4:49.27 clocking in the 400 IM at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday. Lauren Griffith (Central Bucks East) was part of Widener’s fifth place 400 medley relay that turned in a time of 4:03.60. On day two of the championships Friday, Griffith was part of the second place 200 freestyle relay (1:38.11). On day one of the championships, Grogan was part of the seventh place 200 medley relay that finished in 1:52.72.
Sophomore Alison McLaughlin (North Penn) placed first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:34.11 in Kutztown’s 125-90 victory over Lock Haven last Saturday.
West Chester junior Sarah Fisher (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.50 on the second day of the NYU Invitational last Saturday. On day one of the invitational, Fisher posted a time of 1:07.23 in the 100 breaststroke for her PSAC qualifying time.
MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Gettysburg sophomore Dylan McKeever (Central Bucks East) finished ninth in the mile with a time of 4:42.15 at the Roanoke Noke Elite Meet last Saturday.
Holy Family sophomore MJ Powlowicz (Harry S Truman) finished seventh overall with a time of 1:11.16 in the 500-meter dash at the East Coast Conference (ECC) Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. Junior Connor Irwin (Hatboro-Horsham) finished 10th in the one-mile run with a season-best time of 4:50.97.
St. Joseph’s University sophomore Matthew Scarpill (Central Bucks South) met the IC4A qualification in the mile with a collegiate-best time of 4:13.72, which was good for fourth in a field of 32 milers at the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational on Friday. Michael Welde (Council Rock North) and Javier Linares (Pennsbury) were part of the all-freshman 4x400m relay that won the event in a field of nine squads with an IC4A qualifying time of 3:19.26, marking the Hawks’ third fastest 4×4 of the season. Junior captain David Bryant (Upper Dublin) placed 11th in the 60m finals field of 14, checking in with a collegiate-best time of 7.12. Bryant had finished second in his five-member preliminary heat with a time of 7.15, good for 12th overall in the initial field of 38. Bryant followed up with a fifth place showing in the 200m field of 27, crossing in 22.45. In last Friday’s Fastrack National Invitational, Welde tore down his season-best 200m time with an improved 22.34, good for fourth overall in the field of 91 short sprinters. Welde won his heat over GSTC New Balance’s Jonathan Ramirez (22.70), Zenith Velocity AC’s Kervin Morgan (23.16) and Adelphi’s Mac Bailey (25.90) en route to the fourth place spot. The time marks his first sub-22.40 performance of the season and is just a tenth of a second off from IC4A qualification. He also was part of 4×400 relay team that claimed first place with a time of 3:20.59. Bryant ran the 200m in 22.59 for 21st in a field of 25. He also covered the 60m in 7.16 for 27th in a field of 86. Freshman Kyle Magee (Central Bucks South) led a quartet of Hawks in the 400m, finishing in a collegiate-best time of 51.05 for 16th in a field of 75.
Villanova junior Casey Comber (Hatboro-Horsham) joined the ranks of the world’s elite runners by recording the first sub four-minute mile of his career at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston on Saturday with a time of 3:57.80. The time puts Comber in prestigious company, both on the national scene this season and in the storied history of Villanova distance running. He surged to third on this year’s NCAA performance list in the mile and put himself in a position to qualify for the NCAA Championships next month. Comber has been an All-American in the distance medley relay and during cross country season, and he now ranks fourth on Villanova’s all-time indoor performance list in the mile with his PR of 3:57.80. Comber ranks eighth overall on the Villanova performance list for times which were recorded during the collegiate indoor or outdoor season.
Villanova junior Steve Testa (William Tennent) competed in the invitational section of the long jump at the Fastrack National Invitational Friday and recorded a season-best mark of 6.64 meters and placed 17th overall.
Ursinus sophomore Griffin McMann (Pennridge) won the shot put with a new personal record at Haverford’s Keogh Invitational on Saturday. McMann’s heave of 47-10.5 was nearly three full meters ahead of the runner-up finisher and moved him up to third on the Centennial Conference indoor performance list. Junior Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) posted a time of 11.07 in the 60-meter hurdles, a new personal standard.
Shippensburg redshirt freshman Shamar Jenkins (Souderton) was named the PSAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 10. Jenkins won the triple jump competition at the VMI Winter Relays with a top mark officially recorded at 48 feet, 2 ¾ inches, which is another NCAA provisional qualifier for Jenkins, who won the competition on his first jump. He proceeded to post four more 14-meter jumps after his debut. His mark is now the conference leader and was a five-inch season best. Jenkins is tied for 21st in Division II. In the long jump, Jenkins had a top mark of 21 feet, 2 ¾ inches.
Shippensburg freshman Yobani Moreno Estrada (Bensalem) had a throw of 48 feet 7 ½ inches in the shot put to improve his top 10 ranking on the conference leaderboard at a Last Chance Qualifier hosted by Kutztown University on Friday. At the VMI Winter Relays last weekend, sophomore Austin Howell (Pennridge) broke 51 seconds in the 400 meters to move into the top 10 of the league leaderboard. It marks Howell’s second fastest indoor 400m run. Freshman Matt Lenahan (Hatboro-Horsham) posted a 51.37 seconds in the 400 meters for a fifth place finish and came back to cross the finish line in 23.14 seconds in the 200 meters, a new collegiate best. Moreno Estrada finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 47 feet, 4 ½ inches.
Chris Laskowski (William Tennent) and Joe McCoy (Neshaminy) were part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4×200 relay team that surpassed the ECAC qualifying mark to win the event in 1:36.78 at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford on Saturday. Liam Davies (Wissahickon) took second in the 60m hurdles (8.89), and Elijah Rizzo (Bensalem) was second in the high jump, clearing 1.80 meters. At last Saturday’s Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational, Rizzo was second in the high jump with a mark of 1.94 meters. Laskowski posted a time of 25.17 in the 200 meters and 1:13.20 in the 500 meters. In the 60m hurdles, Davies was 14th with a time of 9.12. McCoy turned in a 6.26m effort in the long jump.
Widener sophomore Matt Ludlow (Pennridge) finished second out of 27 runners in the 60-meter final at the Keogh Invitational on Saturday, recording a time of 7.20 seconds. He also finished second in the 200-meter finals with a time of 23.36. Sean Stovall (Springfield Township) was second in the 800-meter finals, posting at time of 1:56.92.
Chestnut Hill junior Aaron Morris (Springfield Township) was part of the 11th place 4×400-meter relay at the Fastrack Invitational last Saturday. Junior Alex Nicolas (Neshaminy) finished 38th (9.38m) in the shot put.
Kutztown freshman George Weems (Upper Dublin) paced his way to a top five mark in program history in the 200-meter dash in a PSAC qualifying time at the Fastrack National Invite last Friday. He also was part of KU’s 4×400 relay team that placed third with at time of 3:20.97. Teagan Fortna (Central Bucks West) posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 800m.
Bloomsburg junior Owen Eisen (Pennridge) finished sixth in the triple jump (12.33 meters) at the Susquehanna University Open on Saturday. Declan McDonald (Central Bucks West) finished sixth in the 500m run with a time of 17:09.07.
East Stroudsburg freshman Josh D’Agostino (Central Bucks South) finished third in the 300m race with a time of 9:48.37 at the Kutztown Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday.
WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Gettysburg senior Danielle DeMichael (Central Bucks East) finished ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.95 at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday. In last Saturday’s Roanoke Noke Elite Meet, DeMichael finished fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:26.22.
Penn State senior Marisa Sheva (Pennridge) placed second in the mile with a time of 4:53.23 at the Penn State Tune-up on Saturday.
Duquesne junior Shannon Taub (Council Rock South) placed second in the high jump with a season-best mark of 1.68 meters at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State last Saturday.
Holy Family senior Jaclyn Timoney (Council Rock South) finished eighth overall in the triple jump with a distance of 10.04m at the annual ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.
Ursinus sophomore Rachel Coleman (Wissahickon) edged her previous personal record in the 200m dash with a 27.02 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational last Friday, posting a time of 27.02. Sophomore Molly Rodebaugh (Central Bucks West) finished in 28.88. Sophomore Michela Coleman (Wissahickon) knocked more than a second off her former PR with a 1:00.41 in the 400m dash to move into third on the conference performance list.
Shippensburg senior Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) completed the 3K in 10:41.77 at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Winter Relays last Saturday. Freshman Kayla Gonzalez (Hatboro-Horsham) and redshirt sophomore Dior Alston (Cheltenham) were part of the 4×400 relay that posted the fastest time in three years (3:56.85). Alston also broke the minute-mark with a season-best time of 59.71 in the 400-meter dash.
Alyson Sharkey (North Penn) was part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4x200m relay that hit the ECAC time of 1:54.05 and finished third overall at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford on Saturday. Sara Gray (William Tennent) won the high jump, clearing 1.57 meters on her second try. In last weekend’s Monmouth Invitational, Gray tied for fifth in the high jump (1.50 meters).
Widener freshman Chantell Bobak (Souderton) finished third in the triple jump finals with a distance of 9.97 meters at the Keogh Invitational on Saturday.
Kutztown junior Olivia Morano (Quakertown) earned a PSAC qualifying mark and a PR of 14.79m (48-006.25) in the weight throw at the Kutztown Last Chance Qualifier on Friday. In last Saturday’s Fastrack National Invitational, Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 3000m. Morano threw for a PR of 11.35 in the shot put.
East Stroudsburg senior Victoria Matthews (Abington) was part of the sixth place 4x400m relay that posted its fastest mark of the season (4:03.97) at the Fastrack National Invite last Friday. Freshman Taylor Allen (Pennsbury) notched a PSAC qualifying time in the 200m dash (26.02).
West Chester junior Allison King (North Penn) registered a top-15 finish in the 5000m run at the Fastrack Invitational last Friday. Allison King (North Penn) posted a time of 59.97 to lead the Golden Rams in the 400m dash.
Bloomsburg sophomore Kathleen Stevenson (North Penn) placed second in the 60-meter dash with a PSAC qualifying time of 7.92 seconds at the Susquehanna University Open on Saturday. Jessica Brenfleck (North Penn) was part of the fifth place distance medley relay (13:09.96), and Zoe Berg (Wissahickon) was part of the 10th place 4×200 relay (1:57.78). In last Friday’s Bucknell University Tune-Up, Stevenson was a three-time PSAC qualifier, posted three personal best marks and reached an NCAA provisional distance in the long jump. Stevenson posted an NCAA provisional mark with a distance of 5.73 meters for a personal best and a victory in the long jump. The mark is the fourth longest in the conference to date. She added another win in the 60-meter dash with a personal best time of 7.87 in the finals. Her third event resulted in a second place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 25.85 for an indoor personal best. It is the third best time in the conference this season. Junior Jessica Milligan (Pennridge) posted a PSAC mark in the preliminaries for the 60-meter hurdles (9.68) and finished eighth overall with a 9.96 time in the finals. Brenfleck was part of the 4x400m relay team that combined for a time of 4:05.03 to record the victory.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Brad Nase (Pennridge) had 24 assists in Messiah College’s 3-0 sweep of Cairn University on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Geneva College, Nase steadied the Falcons’ offense with 39 assists. In Messiah’s 3-0 loss to No. 12 Lancaster Bible College, Nase dished out a team-high 23 assists.
WRESTLING
Gettysburg junior Colin Devlin (Upper Dublin) picked up his second All-Centennial Conference selection, earning honorable mention recognition after his silver medal showing at 141 pounds at the league tournament. Devlin won his first two matches by major decision (9-1) and decision (4-2) before getting upended in the championship match by sixth-ranked Brett Kaliner from Stevens Institute of Technology. It was his third consecutive top-three finish at conferences after placing second at 141 in 2017 and third at 149 last winter. Devlin is 22-6 and ranks second on the team with nine pins this season.
Jeff Reimel (North Penn) improved to 13-0 with a forfeit victory at 184 in No. 8 Kutztown’s 37-3 win at Shippensburg on Thursday. In Kutztown’s 47-0 shutout of East Stroudsburg last Friday, the top-ranked Reimel amassed three takedowns and a pair of four-point near-falls to earn a 17-1 tech fall at the 5:33 mark against Dillon Warner at 184. In KU’s 33-9 victory at No. 25 Millersville, Reimel kept his unbeaten season going with a 7-1 decision over Evan Morill at 184.
Junior Bruce Graeber (Neshaminy) posted a 2-1 victory over Zack Parker in the heavyweight bout in Bloomsburg’s 34-9 loss to Ohio University on Friday. Parker entered the night ranked 28th in the country at 285 pounds, but Graeber was able to use an escape in the second period and a penalty point – two stall warnings – in the third to earn his fourth straight win and improve to 12-13 overall on the year. In Bloomsburg’s 28-15 loss to Rider last Sunday, Graeber pinned Ryan Cloud with 40 seconds left in the match. He held a 3-1 lead at the time and was able to get Cloud on his back and earn his second pin of the weekend and third of the season. In Bloomsburg’s 38-3 win over Franklin & Marshall, Graeber pinned Antonio Pelusi midway through the second period.
Redshirt freshman Collin Stevens (Central Bucks East) pinned Chris Clarke at 174 in East Stroudsburg’s 40-17 win over Springfield Technical Community College last Saturday.
