BASEBALL
Kevin Barron (Hatboro-Horsham) was 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Campbell’s 7-2 win in game two of a doubleheader split with Gardner-Webb on Saturday. He also hit his second home run of the season and added a double in the win. In Thursday’s 7-5 win over Rider, Barron was 3-for-4 with a two-run double. He also scored twice.
Cole Swiger (Upper Dublin) was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored in Bloomsburg’s 7-4 win over Shippensburg in the nightcap of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Friday’s 8-3 win over Shippensburg in game one of a twinbill split, Swiger belted a pair of solo home runs.
Freshman Danny Long (Pennridge) contributed an RBI double in Monmouth’s 9-4 win over Quinnipiac in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Friday’s 17-7 win over Quinnipiac, Long notched his first career hit at home, dropping a two-run single into left in the seventh inning.
Shaun Stackhouse (Council Rock South) doubled and drove in a run in Cabrini’s 13-3 loss to Keystone College in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday.
Kyle Wenger (Souderton) was 2-for-5 with four runs scored in Delaware Valley’s doubleheader split with King’s College on Saturday (3-5, 3-2). In the game two win, Trevor Dalton (Pennridge) started the game and pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out two for his third win. Brendan Giampa (Souderton) threw a scoreless inning in relief.
Cory Capaldi (Souderton) was 1-for-3 with a run scored in Pace University’s 4-0 win over Saint Michael’s College in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Pace’s 15-3 win over Concordia on Thursday, Capaldi scored twice and drove in a run in a 1-for-5 effort. In Monday’s 13-6 win over Dominican College, Capaldi went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
Jared Melone (North Penn) contributed an RBI double and scored a run in West Chester’s 6-3 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In West Chester’s 12-2 win in the nightcap, Melone was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, one RBI and two runs scored. In Friday’s 4-3 win over East Stroudsburg, Melone was 3-for-4, and Jon Fisher (Plymouth Whitemarsh) started and pitched into the eighth inning. He allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking two and striking out five. In Tuesday’s 10-6 win over Philadelphia University in 10 innings, Robert Knox (Upper Moreland) hit a two-run triple and finished the day 2-for-2 with a run scored. Melone was 1-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
Ryan Clow (Central Bucks East) pitched a scoreless eighth inning in Kutztown’s 2-1 win at Wilmington on Tuesday. Zach Schram (Council Rock North) singled in a ninth inning rally that saw the Golden Bears plate the game winner.
David Tatoian (Pennridge) had quite a day in Gwynedd Mercy’s doubleheader sweep at Neumann on Saturday, finishing the day 7-for-8 with eight RBIs, five runs scored, three doubles and three home runs in the two contests. In Gwynedd’s 16-2 win in game one, Tatoian was 4-for-4 with five RBIs, a double and home run and three runs scored. Shaughn Wright (Pennsbury) had a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored, and Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. In Gwynedd’s 10-4 win in game two, Tatoian was 3-for-4 with a double, home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, RBI and two runs scored. Nick Mulvey was 1-for-3 with a triple and run scored. In Thursday’s 5-1 win at Swarthmore, freshman Jared Gorman (North Penn) worked eight strong innings, allowing just one unearned run and striking out two. Tatoian was 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to eight games.
CJ Kilgarriff (Council Rock North) allowed just one unearned run on three hits in six innings while striking out four in a no-decision in Philadelphia University’s 10-5 loss in a doubleheader split at Caldwell on Saturday.
Freshman Tom Nuneviller (Pennridge) had a pair of hits in East Stroudsburg’s 4-3 loss in nine innings to West Chester on Friday. In ESU’s 4-1 loss to West Chester in the nightcap of the twinbill, redshirt senior Casey Saverio (Hatboro-Horsham) singled and scored his team’s only run.
Nick Bein (Abington) had an RBI triple and scored a run while teammate Mike Christy (North Penn) had an RBI single in Elizabethtown’s 6-1 win over Moravian in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. Christy also had a hit in Elizabethtown’s 7-3 loss to Moravian later in the day. In Thursday’s 5-3 loss to Franklin & Marshall, Christy – who came into the game batting .342 on the season – delivered a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Kadar Namey (North Penn) hit a three-run home run in St. Joseph’s 9-1 win over Villanova on Tuesday.
Senior Greg McDonough (Wissahickon) contributed an RBI double in Widener’s 7-0 win over Albright in a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In Friday’s 7-5 win over Albright, McDonough was 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
Senior left fielder Brandon DiBona (William Tennent) was 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in Chestnut Hill’s 7-6 win over Goldey-Beacom on Friday in game one of a doubleheader split. Dylan Borawski (North Penn) threw two scoreless innings in relief. In Wednesday’s 3-3 tie with Shippensburg in the nightcap of a twinbill, sophomore Vincent Case (William Tennent) doubled home a pair of runs.
Junior Matt Radwanski (Central Bucks South) threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Ursinus College’s 11-7 win over SUNY Canton in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Sophomore Nicole Munger (Central Bucks West) had five rebounds, four assists and two points in 28 minutes of action in the University of Michigan’s 80-62 win over Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals of the WNIT on Saturday. Michigan will host Villanova on Wednesday in a WNIT semifinal contest.
Albright junior Alysha Lofton (Central Bucks South) was named Women’s Basketball Coaches Association
(WBCA) All-America honorable mention. Lofton finished the season shooting 53 percent from the field while nearly averaging a double-double, scoring 11.8 points per game while grabbing 9.4 rebounds per game. The All-MAC Commonwealth first team selection finished the season ranked second in the league in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and second in double-doubles (13). Lofton also had 21 double-digit scoring efforts. She ranked third in the conference in steals (76) and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). Lofton won two MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week awards and picked up an ECAC Player of the Week award. Lofton returns for her senior season in 2017-18 with an Albright team coming off its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Shippensburg graduate Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) received honorable mention on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II All-America team. Ten women were named to the All-America team while Knauer was one of just 30 players in all of Division II to receive honorable mention. Knauer, who also won the 2016-17 PSAC East Athlete of the Year, shot a school record 63.8 percent from the field this season, which led the PSAC and ranks second in all of Division II. Knauer led the Raiders in scoring, averaging 14.0 points while averaging 5.8 rebounds. The forward scored double-digit points in 25 of SU’s 31 games. Knauer finishes her career with four All-PSAC selections. She ranks second all-time at SU in career field goal percentage (59.4), third in free throws attempted (648), sixth in rebounds (866) and eighth in points (1,662).
MEN’S GOLF
Embry-Riddle freshman Quinn Guzman (Souderton) finished tied for 15th with a 236 (80-81-77) at the Eagle Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Chris Fleming (Upper Moreland) had one goal and one assist in Misericorida’s 13-5 loss to the Coast Guard Academy on Saturday.
Sophomore Riley White (Plymouth Whitemarsh) recorded two saves in No. 13 Cabrini’s 18-13 loss to No. 11 SUNY Cortland on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 20-1 win over Rosemont, White and freshman Matt Nestler combined for three saves.
Sean Fechter (Pennridge) contributed an assist in Eastern University’s 8-7 triple overtime win at Messiah College on Saturday.
Freshman Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) had a pair of assists but was held without a goal for the first time this season in No. 15 Princeton’s 16-13 loss to Yale on Friday night. In last Saturday’s 17-8 win over No. 19 Penn, Sowers had his best collegiate game to date, finishing with five goals and four assists. Through seven games, the Upper Dublin graduate has 40 points with 19 goals and 21 assists. A year ago, Princeton lost to Penn 20-10.
Jacob Snavely (Central Bucks South) tied a career high with four points in Gwynedd Mercy’s 7-6 loss to Centenary on Saturday. The South graduate had a team-high three goals and also had an assist.
Junior Anthony Paone (Central Bucks South) scored a goal and also had eight ground balls in Widener’s 12-5 win over DeSales on Saturday.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Allison Hawkins (Cheltenham) connected for the hat trick in Pitt’s 14-7 win over Penn State in this weekend’s Pitt Invitational Tournament in club lacrosse action. Pitt is ranked second in the latest Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) rankings. In Saturday’s 19-7 win over Notre Dame, Hawkins had two goals and an assist. In Saturday’s 14-13 loss to Colorado State, Hawkins had two goals. In Friday’s 18-11 win over James Madison, Hawkins had two goals.
Devon Mela (Council Rock North) scored a pair of goals in Albright’s 14-12 loss to Farmingdale State on Saturday.
Samantha Ryder (Pennridge) scored a pair of goals in Philadelphia University’s 8-4 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. In Saturday’s 20-12 loss to Dominican (N.Y.), Ryder scored three goals and also was credited with six draw controls. Alyssa Matthews (Pennsbury) had two assists and two ground balls.
Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) scored three goals in Keystone College’s 15-10 loss to Notre Dame of Maryland on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 20-19 overtime victory at Lancaster Bible, Hawkins tallied six goals.

Senior Brenda McDermott (North Penn) scored the overtime game-winner in Temple’s 17-16 win over visiting Marquette in the Owls’ BIG EAST opener on Saturday. The North Penn graduate had three goals and three assists in the win.
Junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) had two goals, four caused turnovers and five ground balls and senior Lauren Green (North Penn) had a goal and two assists in East Stroudsburg’s 12-10 loss to Slippery Rock on Sunday. In Friday’s 12-11 loss to No. 4 LIU Post, Rahmer had two goals and one assist while Green added an assist. In Wednesday’s 12-9 win over Bloomsburg, Green scored four goals while Rahmer had one goal, two assists, a team-high three caused turnovers, seven ground balls and seven draw controls.
SOFTBALL
Nicole Casagrand (Hatboro-Horsham) earned her third win of the season after throwing 4.2 innings of scoreless relief in UMBC’s 4-3 win over Robert Morris in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. She allowed one hit and fanned one and did not walk a batter. In the fifth inning of Thursday’s 6-3 win in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Coppin State, Casagrand inherited a two-on, no-out situation in the fifth inning and worked out of it scoreless with the help of back-to-back strikeouts to end the inning.
Sophomore Marissa Alpaugh (Pennsbury) was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in Cabrini’s 6-3 win over Keystone in game two of a doubleheader sweep Saturday.
Jovanna Alfonsi (North Penn) contributed an RBI single in Philadelphia University’s 7-4 win over Concordia (N.Y.) in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader sweep.

In Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Shepherd in a doubleheader split, Lutz was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Freshman Meghan Klee (Quakertown) had two hits, including a solo home run, in Shippensburg’s doubleheader against Pitt-Johnstown on Sunday. The Red Raiders lost both games by one run. In Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of IUP, Klee had a pair of hits.
Senior Ally Horvath (Central Bucks South) tossed a three-hit shutout in Widener’s 8-0 win over Stevenson in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Sunday, improving her record to 4-1. She struck out two and issued just one walk. Horvath was also 2-for-3 out of the leadoff spot with an RBI. Freshman Jamie Gosselin (Abington) was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. In Thursday’s 9-3 win over Gwynedd Mercy in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Horvath earned the win, allowing three hits and one run (unearned) in five innings. She struck out three and walked one. She also contributed an RBI single and scored a run.
Fordham senior Lauren Quense (Neshaminy) earned Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Week honors for the week
ending March 19. It is the fifth Pitcher of the Week award already this season for Quense through six weeks. The Neshaminy graduate fired her third shutout of the year against Florida Atlantic, allowing just four hits and three walks in seven innings while striking out four for her 13th win in 17 starts. For the year, Quense is 13-3 with a 1.89 ERA in 17 starts and one relief appearance with nine complete games and three shutouts, combining for two more, in 96.1 innings. She is ranked 12th in the country in wins.
Quense threw a one-hit shutout in Fordham’s 11-0 win over Rhode Island in an abbreviated five-inning game on Saturday. In Saturday’s 14-0 win in game two of a doubleheader sweep of URI, Quense was 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two RBIs and a run scored.
Katelynn Reiss (Bensalem) was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored in Cairn University’s 15-11 win over Valley Forge in game two of a doubleheader sweep Friday.
Freshman Isabel Hoch (Harry S Truman) was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored while teammate Becca Dougherty (Council Rock South) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in Penn State Abington’s 10-2 win in six innings over Rutgers-Camden in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday.

Freshman Jackie Heim (William Tennent) went 2-for-4 in La Salle’s 4-0 loss to George Mason on Sunday. In Saturday’s 9-0 win over George Mason in a doubleheader split, Christina Bascara (Pennsbury) was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Suzanne Swanicki (Pennsbury) was 1-for-1, Lauren Morell (Bensalem) was 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs score, and Angelina Refice (Central Bucks West) contributed an RBI and scored a pair of runs. In Thursday’s 2-1 loss at Penn, Bascara and Mackenzie Obert (Pennsbury) both finished 2-for-4.
MEN’S TENNIS
Sean Kimball (Central Bucks East) notched a 6-3, 6-2 win at second flight singles and Tarik Dashields (Cheltenham) earned a 6-0, 7-5 win at the third flight in Penn State Abington’s 5-4 win over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday. Kimball was also part of the top flight doubles team that earned an 8-1 win.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Pitt senior Chris Spadaro (Council Rock South) was part of the 4×100 relay that set a stadium record of 41.52 at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational at Gesling Stadium on Saturday. He also was part of the 4×400 relay that posted a time of 3:19.41.
Ursinus fresman Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) qualified for the CC outdoor championship in the 200 with a time of 24.27 at its home invitational on Saturday. Freshman Logan Mazullo (Central Bucks West) ran a personal best 16:22.50 in the 5000-meter run.
Shippensburg junior Alex Balla (Quakertown) broke the 33-minute mark to pick up his PSAC qualifying time in the 10K at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond, winning the event in 32:44.45.
Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield) was part of Kutztown’s 4x100m (42.10) and 4x400m (3:20.58) relay teams that posted the best times at the Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday. Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) posted a new PSAC qualifying time of 56.85 to win first place in the 400 intermediate hurdles. Ogi Ogbonna (Harry S Truman) finished 17th in the 100m dash with a time of 11.84.
West Chester senior Shawn Young (Central Bucks West) finished third in the 400m hurdles (58.91) at the Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday.
Bloomsburg freshman Matthew Hart (Pennsbury) finished fifth in the javelin with a PSAC qualifying throw of 51.54 meters at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational hosted by Lynchburg College on Saturday. Hart would later qualify for PSACs in the shot put with a fourth place throw of 13.90 meters. Junior Alex Moran (Pennridge) posted a PSAC qualifying time of 56.99 in the 400m hurdles to finish fifth overall. Senior James Wilson (Central Bucks South) finished sixth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:08.92.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Freshman Meridith Twomey (Pennsbury) was part of Saint Joseph’s ‘B’ 4x800m relay team that placed third in 10:17.00 at the 22nd Annual Monmouth Season Opener on Saturday afternoon.
Bloomsburg senior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) won the 3000m steeplechase by 30 seconds with a PSAC qualifying time of 11:35.65 at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational at Lynchburg College on Saturday. Senior Keelan McDonald (Central Bucks West) finished second in the 5000m run with a time of 17:54.26.
Junior Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) was part of Shippensburg’s first place 4x100m relay that posted a time of 47.75 at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond on Saturday. Sophomore Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) paced three Raiders in the 3,000 meters by running a new collegiate best time of 10:55.50. Fellow sophomore Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) ran 11:00.11 while freshman Marie Antoni (Upper Moreland) debuted in 11:27.59.
Ursinus senior Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) produced a pair of top performances in the sprints in Saturday’s home invitational, finishing second in the 200m dash (26.37) and fourth in the 100m dash (13.02).
Temple’s Sydnee Jacques (North Penn) posted a jump of 11.09m (36’ 4.75”) in the triple jump on day two of the Joe Walker Invitational hosted by Ole Miss.
Moravian junior Casie Cronk (Quakertown) was third in the high jump at 1.55 meters (5-1) at the Lafayette College 7-Way Meet on Saturday.
West Chester’s Jasmine Noble (Central Bucks South), Emily Magnant (Hatboro-Horsham) and Courtney Taylor (Central Bucks South) finished second, third and fourth respectively with times of 12.62, 12.69 and 12.71 in the 100-meter dash at the Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Nick Bennett (Central Bucks East) had three kills in Saint Francis University’s 3-0 loss to No. 7 Lewis on Saturday.
Christian Lizana (Pennridge) finished with 10 kills and four digs in No. 4 Vassar College’s 3-0 win over No. 15 Juniata on Saturday. In Friday’s 3-2 win over No. 11 Marymount, Lizana posted seven kills and four digs.
Senior Michael Fehrs (Central Bucks West) recorded a season-high 13 kills in Stevenson’s 3-1 win over Alvernia on Saturday. In a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers-Newark later in the day, Fehrs had eight kills.
Andy Willits (North Penn) had seven kills to lead Cairn University in its 3-0 loss to Stevenson on Friday. In Tuesday’s 3-0 loss to Alvernia, Willits led all players with 10 kills in the match.
