Keeny, Lee Earn 2019 Chambliss Academic Achievement Award
Kutztown University standout student-athletes Sarah Keeny (William Tennent) of the softball team and Anthony Lee (Abington) of the basketball program were honored as two of 10 recipients of the 2019 
Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Award, presented at a formal reception at the Georgian Room inside of Old Main. Keeny was presented a copper medal and Lee a silver medal in the category of noteworthy achievement in athletics.
Keeny is a three-time All-Atlantic Region Second Teamer and three-time All-PSAC East First Team member. She was named the 2016 PSAC East Freshman of the Year and KU Female Freshman of the Year. Keeny has 242 career hits, sixth all-time in program history, and also ranks third in PSAC and KU history with 110 stolen bases. In the classroom, Keeny is a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
Lee is one of the most decorated players in program history. He is a two-year captain who's accolades include D2CCA Honorable Mention All-America, two-time All-Atlantic Region, four-time All-PSAC East and was named the 2018-19 PSAC East Athlete of the Year. Lee holds school-records for points in a game (50), three-pointers made in a game (8), season (92) and career (275), scoring average for a season (27.4 ppg) and free-throw percentage in a season (90.1). He is second all-time in program history in career points (2,292).
The Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Awards were established through a generous gift provided by Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss, who served as a member of the Kutztown University faculty from 1970 until 2003. The purpose of the awards is to recognize the exceptional individual achievements of a select group of senior students as their careers at Kutztown University draw to a close.
Faculty and staff at Kutztown University are encouraged to nominate students worthy of consideration for this prestigious award. The criterion requires that the nominee exemplify an individual achievement in one or more of the following areas in order to be considered for one of the twelve awards. The areas of achievement are:
a) Successfully completed research projects
b) Original artwork of high quality
c) Artistic performances (music, chorus, drama, etc.) of high quality
d) Original writing in literature or meritorious writing in other fields
e) Noteworthy achievements in athletics
f) Outstanding service to the Kutztown University community
Dr. Chambliss has provided the resources for up to 12 medals (1 gold, 4 silver, 7 copper) to be issued annually to the students selected for this award. In addition, each student recipient will receive a certificate acknowledging conferral of the award.
BASEBALL
Matt Reinert (Souderton) had a pair of hits in Wilkes University’s 9-3 loss at King’s College on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 19-7 victory over Immaculata, Reinert belted his first home run of the season and second of his career to lead off the second. He finished the game 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and three runs. In Wilkes University’s 6-1 win over Manhattanville, Reinert was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs.
Senior Anthony Cameron (North Penn) threw a scoreless seventh to earn the save in Elizabethtown’s 9-6 win over Juniata on Sunday. Mike Christy (North Penn) drove in a pair of runs with a two-run single in the bottom of the first. He finished the game with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Nick Bein (Abington) was 3-for-4. In Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of Juniata (4-3 and 5-4), Cameron earned wins out of the bullpen in both games. Bein hit a two-run home run in the 5-4 win. In Wednesday’s 6-3 win over Lebanon Valley, Christy’s hit his first home run of the year, a solo home run in the first inning. In last Sunday’s 8-7 loss to Susquehanna, Christy had three hits. In Elizabethtown’s 20-2 win over Albright, Christy’s four hits and six RBIs tied single-game career highs. He had a three-run triple in the second.
Junior Shaun Stackhouse (Council Rock South) tallied two hits with a run scored and RBI in Cabrini’s 8-7 win over Marymount in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader split. In Wednesday’s 8-6 win over Penn State Abington, Stackhouse was 1-for-3, scored three runs and added his team-leading 10th stolen base of the year. In Cabrini’s 8-3 win over Cairn in game one of a twinbill sweep, Stackhouse had a two-run single in the first and a sacrifice fly in the seventh. He also added a stolen base.
Matt Ernst (Central Bucks East) had two hits in Arcadia’s 1-0 loss to Hood in game one of a twinbill Saturday. In Wednesday’s 8-7 loss to Keystone, Nick Ponente (Council Rock South) had a pair of hits. In last Sunday’s 16-3 victory over Stevenson, Ponente had two hits and drove in three runs. Ernst was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Sophomore Ian Kacergis (Pennridge) earned the win in DeSales University’s 11-2 win over FDU-Florham, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out four in seven innings.
Dan Klepchick (Central Bucks South) notched the win in Monmouth’s 9-3 win over Niagara in game one of a doubleheader split Saturday, allowing seven hits and three runs in seven innings. His 10 strikeouts were the most by a Hawk this season. Klepchick walked just one and has yet to walk more than two batters in a start this season. Danny Long (Pennridge) had a pair of hits with a double, RBI and two runs scored.
Sophomore Ryan McCarty (Pennsbury) had a big day at the plate and on the mound in Penn State Abington’s doubleheader sweep of Wells on Saturday. In a 13-1 win in game one, the All-American went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and struck out eight batters while allowing just three hits to notch his fourth win of the season. In the Nittany Lions’ 15-7 win in game two, McCarty was 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs. In last Saturday’s 7-1 win over SUNY Cobleskill in game one of a twinbill sweep, McCarty notched the complete game win, allowing six hits and one run while striking out a season-high nine and walking just one.
Dave Tatoian (Pennridge) set another career record as he became the program’s all-time doubles leader in Gwynedd Mercy’s twinbill split with Immaculata Saturday. Earlier this week, he set the school record for most home runs. Tatoian set the doubles record with two in Gwynedd Mercy’s 11-6 loss in game one with the record breaker coming in the sixth to score a run. Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) tripled and scored twice. In Wednesday’s 7-5 loss to Ursinus, Tatoian – who became the all-time leader in home runs – was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs and a stolen base. He hit his 21st career longball in the eighth, a solo shot that pulled Gwynedd Mercy within two runs. In Wednesday’s 21-1 victory at St. Joseph’s Brooklyn, Shaun Thomas (Hatboro-Horsham) hit a two-run single, and Alex Ritter (Pennsbury) was 1-for-2 with three RBIs and a run. In Monday’s 3-2 loss to Misericordia, Nick Mulvey had two hits. In last Saturday’s 13-2 win over Marywood in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Billy Collins (North Penn) had two hits. In the Griffins’ 13-3 win in game two, Tatoian was 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored, and Collins was 2-for-4 with a triple. Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) scored twice and had three hits on the day. In the Griffins’ 19-4 win over Delaware Valley in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Collins was 2-for-2 with a double, five RBIs and a run scored while Jason Mulvey was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs. Nick Mulvey had two hits, one RBI and two runs, and Tatoian was 2-for-2 with a double and four runs scored. TJ Brasier (Harry S Truman) drove in a pair of runs. In the Griffins’ 13-3 win in game two, Jason Mulvey was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs, and Nick Mulvey was 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and run scored. Tatoian was 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs. In Gwynedd Mercy’s 6-6 tie with Widener, Nick Mulvey was 4-for-5 with a double, RBI and run scored, and Jason Mulvey had two hits, including a double.
Senior Greg Paprocki (Council Rock South) earned the win after tossing two scoreless innings of relief with five strikeouts in La Salle’s 13-4 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday.
Jerry Scavone (Neshaminy) was 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBIs and two runs in Ursinus College’s 7-5 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Thursday. In the Bears’ 13-9 loss at DeSales, Eric Gross (Central Bucks South) was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run. Carter Usowski (Central Bucks East) was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI, and Scavone was 2-for-4 with a double.
Sophomore Andrew Dietz (Central Bucks South) hit a three-run home run in Chestnut Hill’s 18-7 victory over Nyack in game two of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In last Sunday’s 10-3 win over Concordia in game two of a twinbill sweep, Dietz was 3-for-4 with two runs and a seventh inning RBI. In the Griffins’ 14-5 win over the University of the Sciences, Billy Bethel (Pennsbury) scattered five hits over seven innings while totaling a career-high 10 strikeouts. Dietz had a pair of hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Justin Horn (Upper Dublin) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in West Chester’s 10-2 win over Shippensburg in game one of a twinbill sweep Saturday. In Friday’s 15-14 loss to Shippensburg, Jared Melone (North Penn) came a single shy of hitting for the cycle and contributed four RBIs. Horn doubled in a pair of runs. In last Sunday’s 9-6 win over East Stroudsburg in game two of a doubleheader split, Horn hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth inning. He finished the game with a career-high five RBIs along with a team-high three runs scored. In last Saturday’s 6-5 loss to East Stroudsburg in game one of a doubleheader, Horn – who had a two-run double – and Melone both had two hits. In West Chester’s 12-7 loss to ESU in game two of the twinbill, Melone had one hit, two RBIs and a run scored.
Andrew Mayhew (Pennridge) pitched a one-two-three seventh for his second save of the season in No. 24 Millersville’s 4-1 win over Kutztown in game one of a doubleheader sweep last Saturday.
Jake Reed (Quakertown) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in Bloomsburg’s 6-3 win in game two of a twinbill split With East Stroudsburg on Saturday. In the Huskies’ 9-8 loss in game one, Cole Swiger (Upper Dublin) was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. In Friday’s 4-2 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of a twinbill sweep, Swiger was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. In last Sunday’s 2-0 win over Shippensburg in game two of a twinbill sweep, Swiger was 2-for-3 with a home run, RBI and run scored.
MEN’S GOLF
Penn State Abington freshman Christian Jabbar (Council Rock South) shot an 84 to finish fifth in in a tri-match against Jefferson University and University of the Sciences on Wednesday. Luke Fisher (Cheltenham) rounded out the top 10 with a score of 88. At the Widener Golf Spring Invitational, Jabbar tied for 36th overall with 89 strokes.
WOMEN’S GOLF
West Chester junior Juliarose Genuardi (North Penn) finished with a two-day score of 159 to finish in a tie for fourth at the East Stroudsburg Invitational. She carded a second round 77, which was an eight-stroke improvement over day one. At the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational, Genuardi earned the individual title for West Chester as she shot a 74 on the second day, which was 12 strokes lower than her opening round 86 to end with a two-day score of 160 (+13). At the Kutztown Spring Invitational, Genuardi finished fourth with an 84. At the 2019 Alvernia Invitational, Genuardi tied for eighth after carding an 85.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) is 95 percent of the way to Princeton’s career scoring record of Kevin Lowe in two-thirds of the number of games that Lowe played. Sowers had three goals and two assists for a game-high five points to lead Princeton to a 13-4 win over Dartmouth on Saturday. Sowers now has 235 points for his career, moving into second place all-time in scoring at Princeton behind only Lowe, whose 247 career points have stood as the school record for 25 years. Sowers now has 95 goals and 140 assists for his career. In Tuesday’s 19-10 win over Siena, Sowers scored six goals and added five assists. The six goals and 11 points were career highs for the junior attackman, and the 11 points were second best in program history. In last Saturday’s 14-4 win over Stony Brook, Sowers had five assists.
Brett McDonald (Council Rock North) made eight saves to earn the win in goal in Eastern University’s 8-7 overtime win over King’s on Saturday. Kyle Fanelli (Pennridge) contributed a goal and an assist. In Wednesday’s 10-9 overtime win over Wilkes, McDonald had six saves, including a pair of critical saves in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. Fanelli had a pair of goals. In Eastern’s 11-9 win over Manhattanville, McDonald made five of his 11 saves in the fourth quarter. He finished with 12 ground balls.
Junior Matt Brown (Central Bucks East) had a goal and an assist in DeSales University’s 9-6 win over FDU-Florham on Saturday. In DeSales University’s 14-5 win over Misericordia, Brown contributed two goals and two assists.
Senior Christopher Dachowski (Pennridge) captained the defense with four ground balls and two caused turnovers in Chestnut Hill’s 14-12 victory at Molly College.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Elizabethtown sophomore Kate Ziegler (Pennridge) and senior Abby Kopytko 
(Council Rock North) were named Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 7. Ziegler reached the 100-point mark for her career, surpassing it in the Jays’ 17-1 win over Penn State Abington with four goals, two assists, three draw controls and three ground balls. She added to her total with a hat trick against Juniata in another win for Elizabethtown.
As Ziegler scored and set up goals for the offense, Kopytko was doing the opposite in preventing goals for the Blue Jays. The senior did not allow a goal in 63:07 between both games. She only needed to make two stops against the Lions and one against the Eagles to earn both victories.
Ziegler had four goals, one assist and four draw controls in Elizabethtown’s 15-11 loss to Drew on Saturday. Kopytko recorded 15 saves in goal. In Wednesday’s 22-12 loss to Moravian, Ziegler had three goals, two draw controls and three ground balls. Kopytko had 15 saves.
Claire Jarema scored her first career hat trick and Courtney Dietzel (Central Bucks South) had a pair of goals in Drexel’s 15-13 win at William and Mary last Sunday.
Hannah Reape (Upper Dublin) scored four goals in Ursinus College’s 15-14 win over McDaniel.
Sophomore Kelly Martin (Central Bucks South) scored her first career goal to tie the game 1-1 in Penn State Abington’s 17-6 loss to Lancaster Bible College last Saturday.
Senior Kyra Shank (Souderton) scored a pair of goals in Shippensburg’s 15-12 loss to Millersville.
Saint Joseph’s senior attacker Francesca Donata (Neshaminy) was named the Atlantic 10’s Performer of the 
Week for the week ending April 7. In the Hawks’ 15-8 win over George Washington, Donato had six points on four goals and two assists. She followed up with nine points on six goals and three helpers as well as three ground balls in the Hawks’ 19-12 win over Davidson. Also against Davidson, Donato broke SJU’s single-season program record for assists and had 36 for the season. The attacker leads the A-10 in total points (71), points per game (5.07), total assists and assists per game (2.57).
Donato had two goals and an assist in Saint Joseph’s 19-7 win over La Salle on Sunday. Her second goal early in the second half brought her to 76 points for the season, which ties the offensive standout for SJU’s program record in single-season points. Freshman defender Lindsey Smith (Springfield Township) had a game-high six draw controls. In Friday’s 16-11 loss at George Mason, freshman midfielder Sophia Kolkka (Plymouth Whitemarsh) registered her first collegiate hat trick. Donato added a goal and an assist.
Sophomore Jen Rodzewich (Pennridge) notched her first hat trick of the season and second of her career in Temple’s 12-9 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. Amber Lambeth (Souderton) also scored a goal. In last Saturday’s 17-13 win over Connecticut, Lambeth scored three goals for her third hat trick of the year and also tallied one assist. Rodzewich collected five draws and also scored a goal.
Victoria Braeunle (North Penn) had a team-high six points on four goals and two assists in Gwynedd Mercy’s 21-11 Senior Day loss to Immaculata on Saturday. Gwynedd’s lone senior, Jamie McCarney (William Tennent), was recognized prior to the game. Voted one of the captains, McCarney started all 14 games so far this season. In Tuesday’s 25-22 loss to Neumann, Braeunle totaled six points on four goals and two assists. In the Griffins’ 19-6 loss to Marymount, Braeunle led the offense with two goals and two assists.
Krysta Reading (Central Bucks South) scored two goals in Lock Haven’s 17-10 loss to Bloomsburg on Wednesday.
Makayla Bowman (North Penn) scored five goals in Kutztown’s 14-12 win over Lock Haven on Saturday.
Maggie Stella (Central Bucks East) recorded a hat trick and also had an assist in No. 8 West Chester’s 17-2 victory over Edinboro on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 19-6 win over West Chester, Stella had two goals and an assist. In last Saturday’s 21-3 win over Gannon, Emily Schulze (North Penn) contributed three goals and an assist. In West Chester’s come-from-behind 9-8 win over No. 15 Mercy College. Stella won nine of West Chester’s 14 draw controls. Stella and Schulze each scored a goal in West Chester’s four-goal tear late in the game.
MaryCait Dorley (Cheltenham) scooped up a career-high six ground balls and also scored a goal in Millersville’s 10-7 loss to Mercyhurst on Saturday.
Junior Michelle Dyck (North Penn) had three stops in the first 25:56 of the second half in No. 11 East Stroudsburg’s 21-3 win over Gannon on Saturday.
SOFTBALL
Katelyn Reiss (Bensalem) was 2-for-3 in Cairn University’s 3-1 loss to Penn State Abington on Wedbesday. In last Sunday’s 4-3 loss to John Jay, Reiss was 2-for-4.
Jackie Bilotti (North Penn) tripled and drove in a pair of runs in Arcadia’s 9-1 win over Alvernia in game one of a twinbill sweep Saturday. In Arcadia’s 9-1 win over Penn State Abington, Bilotti tripled and drew a pair of walks. She drove in a pair of runs and scored once.
Moravian College freshman pitcher/designated player Alex Scheeler (Souderton) was named the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 7. Scheeler hit .550 to lead the Greyhounds to a 6-0 record for the week as the Hounds clinched the program’s 25th straight postseason appearance. Scheeler was 11-for-20 at the plate with three runs, four doubles and six RBIs as she hit safely in all six games. She added a .571 on-base percentage and a .750 slugging percentage. Scheeler also had a 3-0 mark and a 1.00 ERA with four runs, just three earned, on 20 hits and three walks to go with three strikeouts in 21 innings of action in the circle. She also recorded one putout and six assists in seven chances in the field.
Sophomore Maddie Bieber (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-3 and Scheeler was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in No. 10 Moravian’s 12-4 win over Catholic University in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. Sophomore Meghan Bauer (Pennridge) struck out the side in the top of the sixth during her only inning of action. In Thursday’s 3-0 win over Muhlenberg in game one of a twinbill sweep, Bieber was 2-for-3. Scheeler improved to 11-0 in her debut season, scattering three hits with no walks and a career-high six strikeouts for her second shutout of the season. In Moravian’s 8-2 win in game two, Bieber and Scheeler were both 2-for-4. Bauer came on to pitch 4.2 innings of relief with six strikeouts as she improved to 2-1 on the year. In last Sunday’s 5-1 win over Scranton in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Scheeler was 2-for-3 and earned the complete game win. In Moravian’s 4-3 win in game two, Bauer came in during the seventh inning, striking out one batter and recording three outs while earning her first career save. Scheeler’s three-run double in the seventh broke a 1-1 tie. In Moravian’s 2-1 win in game one of a twinbill sweep of Rutgers-Camden, Scheeler was 2-for-3. In Moravian’s 5-3 win in game two, Scheeler was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Bieber was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Penn State Abington senior Becca Dougherty (Council Rock South) was named the NEAC Softball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 1. The Nittany Lions’ ace pitcher accumulated a 1.84 ERA over a total of 19 innings between four games with 17 strikeouts. Not only did Dougherty dominate in the circle but was a fierce competitor at the plate. The former 2018 first team All-NEAC slugger compiled a .600 batting average with four doubles, eight RBIs, five runs and a home run. Dougherty’s performance helped Abington to a perfect 4-0 start in conference play.

Jackie McMenamin (Upper Dublin) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Mary Kate Smith (Springfield Township) was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, and Danielle Hebling (William Tennent) was 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. In last Sunday’s 8-1 win over Keuka in game two of a twinbill split, Dougherty was 3-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored. She also earned the complete game win, allowing five hits and one run. Andreoli was 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs. Hebling was 1-for-3 with a triple and RBI. In last Sunday’s 2-1 win over Wells in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Dougherty earned the complete game win, allowing four hits and one run while striking out six and walking one. In the Nittany Lions’ 10-3 win in game two, Dougherty was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and threw four innings to earn the win. Hebling was 2-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs. In the Nittany Lions’ 10-1 loss to Swarthmore, Andreoli had three of her team’s five hits.
Freshman Madelyn Yeager (Hatboro-Horsham) connected on her third home run of the season in Holy Family University’s 4-0 victory over Concordia in game two of a doubleheader split Saturday. In Holy Family’s 8-7 loss to nationally-ranked Georgian Court, Yeager hit a three-run home run.
Ursinus junior Jennifer Hammons (Springfield Township) was named Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 7. Hammons was all but untouchable in a 3-1 week for the Bears, allowing a single run across 16 innings of work. The right-hander tossed a shutout in two of her three starts and compiled a 0.44 ERA. Hammons began the week by starting both ends of a doubleheader split at Franklin & Marshall, firing a four-hit shutout with four strikeouts as Ursinus posted a 12-0 run-rule victory in the opener. She started the nightcap, allowing one run on two hits in four innings. Hammons kicked off Ursinus’ first sweep of Gettysburg in eight years with a three-hit shutout during which she struck out seven batters. After pitching sparingly in her first two collegiate seasons, Hammons has developed into an ace for the Bears. She is fourth in the conference with six wins and ranks fifth with 54 strikeouts. Her two shutouts are good for third in the league, and her 3.03 ERA places her just outside the top 10.
Erin Maher (North Penn) was 3-for-4 with a double in Jefferson University’s 3-0 loss to Kutztown on Sunday afternoon in game one of a doubleheader. In Saturday’s 12-8 win over Felician in game one of a doubleheader split, Maher was 3-for-3 with a pair of walks, RBI and run scored. In Thursday’s 3-1 win over University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Maher was 1-for-3 with a triple, walk and run scored. In the Rams’ 7-6 win in game two, Maher was 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. In last Saturday’s 9-7 win over Dominican in game one of a twinbill split, Maher was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three runs. In the Rams’ 3-1 loss in game two, Maher was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
Junior Meghan Klee (Quakertown) had two hits, two RBIs and a walk in Shippensburg’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of East Stroudsburg on Wednesday. Klee has now reached base in a season-long eight consecutive games. In last Saturday’s 4-1 win over Kutztown in game two of a twinbill sweep, Klee slammed her first home run of the season (fourth of her career), a two-run shot to right center to give SU a 3-1 lead.
Jessica O’Neil (Harry S Truman) notched a win and improved to 14-1 on the season, allowing two hits and one run in six innings while striking out three and walking one in No. 18 Georgian Court’s 7-3 win over Bloomfield in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Goldey-Beacom in game one of a twinbill sweep, O’Neill, the CACC earned run average leader, lowered her top mark to 1.55 after firing seven scoreless frames. She allowed four hits and struck out three.
Jamie Gosselin (Abington) had three hits and one run in Widener’s doubleheader sweep of Lebanon Valley on Saturday. Sydney Powell (Neshaminy) earned the win Widener’s 8-4 win in game two. In Monday’s 8-0 win in game one of a twinbill split with Cedar Crest, Powell threw a complete game shutout. Gosselin had a hit and RBI in both games.
Sara Keeny (William Tennent) finished with four hits, two runs and two RBIs with three of those hits along with the runs and RBIs coming in Kutztown University’s 7-1 win over Jefferson in Sunday’s doubleheader sweep. The senior continues to reach base as she leads the PSAC with a .527 batting average and 78 hits. Cheyenne Jones (William Tennent) posted three hits in the doubleheader. In Saturday’s doubleheader split with West Chester, Jones had a four-hit day while Keeny finished with three hits. Jones had two runs scored and an RBI. In Thursday’s doubleheader sweep of Goldey-Beacom, Keeny had five hits on the day, including a double and triple, to go along with six runs, two RBIs and three stolen bases. The senior now ranks fifth all-time in program history with 158 runs and is tied for third in career hits with 260. Jones recorded two hits in the two-game set. Amber Brugger (Neshaminy) recorded the victory in game one, throwing 5.1 innings. In last Monday’s doubleheader sweep of Holy Family, Keeny went 4-4 in KU’s 9-1 win in game one. It was her fifth 4-for-4 game this season and the second in a row. Jones had a three-hit day. Brugger earned the victory in the 9-1 win, striking out six to tie a season high. In last Sunday’s twinbill sweep of the University of the Sciences. Keeny finished with six total hits, including a 4-for-4 in game two. She added an RBI and scored two runs. Keeny stole four bases, upping her career total to 115, which ties her for second all-time in program and PSAC history record books. Her 62 hits and 39 runs this season leads the conference. Brugger finished off game one and earned the win. In KU’s sweep of East Stroudsburg last Saturday, Jones and Keeny both recorded three hits. Brugger notched the win in KU’s 4-1 win in game one. In KU’s twinbill split with Shippensburg, Keeny had six hits on the day. Keeny’s four-hit game two is the second time in three games she accomplished the feat and third time this season. Jones contributed two hits, one of which gave her 100 for her career at Kutztown. In KU’s sweep of Felician, Keeny had four hits while Jones had two. Brugger picked up the win KU’s 9-1 victory in game one.
Brianna Battavio (North Penn) hit a three-run home run in Millersville’s 6-2 win over East Stroudsburg in game two of a twinbill sweep on Saturday. In the Marauders’ 8-0 win in game one, Devan Masciulli (Neshaminy) had a pair of hits and Battavio had an RBI single. In last Sunday’s 9-0 win over Goldey-Beacom in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Battavio hit a solo home run. In Millersville’s 6-3 victory over Chestnut Hill in game one of a doubleheader split, Battavio, who had three hits on the day, had two hits. Masciulli contributed an RBI single.

Stephanie Jin (Wissahickon) was part of Penn State Abington’s number two flight doubles that earned a win in Penn State Abington’s 5-4 win over Lancaster Bible College on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 9-0 shutout of Penn College, Jin and Marta Tymchenko (Bensalem) both earned wins in singles. In Penn State Abington’s 5-4 win over Rutgers-Camden, Tymchenko was part of the number one flight’s 8-3 win and Jin was part of the number two flight’s 8-5 victory. In Penn State Abington’s 7-2 loss to King’s College, Jin was part of the number two doubles team that earned an 8-3 win.

Bucknell sophomore Connor McMenamin (Souderton) posted a strong IC4A- qualifying time of 9:11.65 in the steeplechase to finish ninth at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. Last Saturday at the Colonial Relays, McMenamin was part of Bucknell’s fifth place 4x1500m relay team that finished fifth with a time of 15:54.34.
Holy Family freshman Sean Rahill (William Tennent) finished third overall in the 500m with a personal best time of 16:01.35 at the Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University on Saturday. Sophomore MJ Powlowicz (Harry S Truman) set new personal bests in both the 200-meter dash and the 800-meter dash. In the 200-meters, he finished in 24.91 seconds and recorded a time of 2:05.04 in the 800m. Junior Ryan Merriman (Pennsbury) recorded a personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:11.35. He also set a personal best in the 1500m as he finished in 4:40.11. In last Saturday’s Oscar Moore Invitational at Rowan, Powlowicz finished sixth overall as he recorded a time of 2:06.73.
Freshmen Javier Linares (Pennsbury) and Kyle Magee (Central Bucks South) were part of Saint Joseph’s first place 4x400m relay that posted an IC4A qualifying time of 3:16.93 at the Rider Invitational on Saturday. Freshman Aidan Sauer (Pennsbury) was part of the first place 4x800m relay that posted a time of 8:13.55. Freshman Michael Welde (Council Rock North) placed third in the 200m (22.51). At Bucknell’s Christy Mathewson-Memorial, sophomore Matthew Scarpill (Central Bucks South) turned in his first career 300m steeplechase time (9:51.32) for 43rd in a field of 61. In last Saturday’s Colonial Relays, Scarpill was part of the third place 4x1500m relay (15:51.09). Junior David Bryant (Upper Dublin) and Welde were part of the 4x200m relay that placed fourth in a field of 15 (1:27.84). Welde and Magee were part of the 4x400m relay that earned eighth with an IC4A qualifying time of 3:17.28. Linares and Sauer were part of SJU’s ‘B’ DMR that clocked in at 10:15.90.
Villanova junior distance runner Casey Comber (Hatboro-Horsham) got his outdoor season off to a strong start when he recorded a personal best time in the 1500 meters at the Joe Walker Invitational on Friday evening. Comber competed against several athletes who were running on their home track at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex, as well as runners from a number of other schools in the East region. The fastest section of the 1500 meters got underway just after 7:30 p.m. and Comber came in third in his race with a time of 3:42.54. He easily bested his previous top time of 3:45.81 which had been set in a meet at Princeton last year. Comber put himself into position to compete in the 1500 meters at the NCAA East Preliminary meet in Jacksonville next month. Each of the first three runners across the finish line in Friday's race posted faster times than the leading marks in the East region entering the weekend. Comber competed at the meet last year as a sophomore when he raced in the national semifinal heats of the 5000 meters.
Ursinus sophomore Griffin McMann (Pennridge) won the shot put with a throw of 45-10.75 in the discus (123-11) at Salisbury’s Eastern Shore Challenge on Saturday. In Wednesday’s Mid-Week Twilight Meet at Gwynedd Mercy, junior Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) earned a new personal best in the long jump (18-8.00). McMann was runner-up in the shot put (45-10.50). At West Chester’s Bill Butler Invitational last Saturday, McMann registered a new outdoor PR in the shot put (47-1.75), good for third on the Centennial Conference charts.
Shippensburg junior Tommy Haas (Hatboro-Horsham) achieved a provisional qualifier in the javelin at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic, throwing 195 feet, 10 inches. At last Saturday’s Millersville Metrics, Haas posted a top throw of 201 feet in the javelin, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Freshman Yobani Morena Estrada (Bensalem) improved his best to 139 feet, 10 inches. He also was the pacesetter in the shot, improving his PR to 47 feet, 10 ½ inches.
Gwynedd Mercy freshman Elijah Rizzo (Bensalem) was named the Atlantic East Men’s Track and Field Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 7. Rizzo captured the high jump title at the Muhlenberg Invitational. The freshman cleared 1.85 meters in his first attempt. He also was the Atlantic East Men’s Track and Field Field Athlete for the week ending April 1 after placing second in the high jump at Widener’s Danny Curran Invitational with a top outdoor mark of 2.00 meters. The freshman scored eight of the team’s 21 points in the two-day meet.
Rizzo won the high jump with a top mark of 2.00 meters at Gwynedd’s Mid-Week Twilight Meet. He also claimed third in the triple jump (13.26 meters). Liam Davies (Wissahickon) produced a pair of third place finishes as the rookie clocked in at 15.93 in the 110 hurdles and 59.92 in the 400 hurdles. The time in the 400 hurdles was a season best. At the Muhlenberg Invitational last Saturday, Rizzo won the high jump with a top mark of 1.85 meters. Joe McCoy (Neshaminy) hit his best jump so far in the long jump (6.36 meters) to finish second overall. McCoy and Chris Laskowski (William Tennent) was part of the 4x100m relay team that finished second overall with a time of 44.04. Liam Davies (Wissahickon) was second in the 110m hurdles, finishing in a season-best time of 15.48 seconds.
Sean Stovall (Springfield Township) was part of Widener’s first place 4x400m relay that posted a time of 3:23.60 at the Chester Quarry Classic on Saturday. Matt Ludlow (Pennridge) was second in the long jump finals with a leap of 6.77 meters. At last Saturday’s Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester, Stovall won the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.48. Ludlow placed fourth in the 100m finals with a time of 11.38 seconds.
Chestnut Hill junior Aaron Morris (Springfield Township) placed 17th in the 800m race with a time of 1:56.20 at Princeton University’s Sam Howell Invitational last Saturday.
Kutztown University sophomore Tommy Oliver (Bensalem) registered the eighth highest decathlon score in KU history at the Mondschein Multi on Friday. Oliver jumped two spots in the Maroon section of the meet to place fifth with a career-high 6,073 points. The sophomore set personal bests in four of the five events contested. He was fourth in his section in the javelin with a top throw of 42.88m (140’8”), tied for fourth in the pole vault at 4.15m (13’7.25”) and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.90) – all new PRs. Oliver also established a PR in the discus, throwing 27.33 (89’8”) and finished fifth in his section in the 1500m run (5:00.50). The Bensalem native surpassed his former top decathlon score of 5,576 from last year’s PSAC Outdoor Championships and became the first Golden Bear to exceed 6000 points since 2004.
West Chester freshman Ori Frazier (Abington) took second in the 400m dash with a time of 43.10 at the Chester Quarry Invitational at Widener on Saturday. At the Bill Butler Invitational, Frazier took third in the 400m dash with a time of 50.54 before placing in the 200m dash with a time of 23.29.
Bloomsburg junior Declan McDonald (Central Bucks West) placed eighth overall in the 300m steeplechase with a time of 10:37.47 at the Johns Hopkins Invitational.

Lebanon Valley senior Hannah Kramlik (Pennridge) finished with a postseason qualifying time of 12:01.85 in the 3,000-meters at the Messiah College Multi and Invitational on Saturday. In last Saturday’s Millersville Metrics, Kramlik finished third in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 12:21.02.
Monmouth senior Allison Taub (Council Rock South) won the shot put with a throw of 47’4.25” at the Coach P Invitational at Moravian College on Saturday. At the Bison Outdoor Classic, Brianna Stratz (Central Bucks South) and Amber Stratz (Central Bucks South) finished in 4:30 and 4:31 respectively to qualify for the ECAC Championships. At last Saturday’s Princeton Sam Howell Invitational, Brianna Stratz was the fourth collegian with a time of 2:07. Taub was fourth in discus (146’) and the shot put (47’3.75”).
Eastern University freshman Jordyn Helsman (Council Rock North) finished fifth in the javelin at the Bill Butler Invitational hosted by West Chester last Saturday.
Holy Family freshman Victoria Reid (Bensalem) competed in the 1500m and finished 10th overall with a time of 5:53.98 at the Oscar Moore Invitational hosted by Rowan University last Saturday.
Ursinus sophomore Rachel Coleman (Wissahickon) and Molly Rodebaugh (Central Bucks West) were part of the 4×100 relay that posted a season-best time of 49.92 at Salisbury’s Eastern Shore Challenge on Saturday and now ranks second by .07 seconds to Swarthmore. In Wednesday’s Mid-Week Twilight Meet at Gwynedd Mercy, sophomore Michela Coleman (Wissahickon) posted a PR in the 400m dash with a time of 1:03.56. Rodebaugh had a personal best 13.58 in the 100m dash. Rachel Coleman was part of the 4x100m relay that posted a time of 50.64. Freshman Amanda Choi (Plymouth Whitemarsh) posted a personal best in the 800m while senior Riley Engel (Council Rock North) placed second with a time of 19:15.71 in the 5000 meters. In last Saturday’s Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester, Engel shattered her previous best by seven seconds in the 1500m with a mark of 5:01.59.
Shippensburg senior Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) achieved a PSAC qualifier in the 10K at the Bison Outdoor Classic, posting the fastest time among the unseeded heat with a time of 37:42.97. The time is an eight-second PR for Kinkead, who exceeded her previous best set in 2017 when she finished fifth at the conference championships. It’s the second distance event qualifier for Kinkead, who is among the league’s top five seeds in the 5K. Senior Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) picked up a conference cut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running 12:04.67 to become the first Raider qualified in the event. In last Saturday’s Colonial Relays, freshman Kayla Gonzalez (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of the 4x400m relay that posted a time of 3:59.02.
Gwynedd Mercy senior Sara Gray (William Tennent) won the high jump (1.60 meters) at Gwynedd’s Mid-Week Twilight Meet on Wednesday. Alyson Sharkey (North Penn) completed in a trio of events: the 400 meters (fourth place – 1:02.46), the high jump (seventh place – 1.35 meters) and the pole vault (third – 2.75 meters). At last Saturday’s Muhlenberg Invitational, Gray finished tops in the long jump along with Hayley Engle of Misericordia in a tie as both topped out at 1.54 meters.
Widener freshman Chantell Bobak (Souderton) placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 9.69 meters at West Chester’s Bill Butler Invitational.
Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) was part of Kutztown’s 4×800 relay team that finished fourth with a time of 9:49.35 on Sunday at the final day of the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University. The time ranks seventh all-time in KU history. On day one of the Bison Classic Saturday, Bresadola finished with a qualifying time in the 1500m. At the West Chester quad meet. Bresadola finished first in the 1500m. Lynne O’Connor (William Tennent) placed first in the 2000m steeplechase.
West Chester junior Tara McLaughlin (North Penn) won the 500m in 19:29.12 at the Chester Quarry Invitational at Widener on Saturday. Cara Jackson (Souderton) finished third in the 100m dash with a time of 12.99 seconds. On Friday in the Mondschein Multi’s hosted by Kutztown, Caroline DiJiosia (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished second in the gold group with a total of 3,611 points. In last Saturday’s Bill Butler Invitational, Jackson was third in the 200m dash with a time of 26.54. Emma Brodhag (William Tennent) recorded a pair of top five finishes during the long jump as Brodhag was fourth with a distance of 16-7 1/4 . Brodhag earned a victory in the triple jump with a mark of 36-1 1/4 .
Millersville University sophomore Kaitlin Moyer (Quakertown), competing in the heptathlon for the first time, turned in a fourth place finish in the ‘Gold’ flight at the two-day Mondschein Multis. Moyer set personal best marks in six of the seven events and finished with 3,492 points. Moyer’s highest point total of 619 came with a time of 16.80 in the 100m hurdles. That time was .79 faster than her previous best. She placed fourth in that event. She took first out of 10 athletes in the high jump and totaled 588 points with a PR jump of 4-9 ¾. Moyer totaled 403 points with a fourth place finish in the shot put. A time of 28.48 in the 200m dash – a second better than her previous best – was good for 594 points and a fifth-place finish. Her leap of 15-0 ½ in the long jump was good for 448 points and a fourth-place finish. She took sixth in the field in the javelin and ran a 2.43.25 to finish fourth and grab 536 points in the closing 800m run.
Bloomsburg sophomore Kathleen Stevenson (North Penn) ran a time of 12.52 in the 100m dash for a 13th place finish on Sunday at the Bison Open hosted by Bucknell. Junior Jessica Milligan (Pennridge) was a PSAC qualifier in the 400m hurdles as she posted a personal best time of 1:06.35. At the Johns Hopkins Invitational, Milligan finished fifth overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.10. At the Millersville Metrics, Milligan and sophomore Jessica Brenfleck (North Penn) were part of the first place 4x400m relay that posted a time of 4:04.12.
East Stroudsburg senior Victoria Matthews (Abington) hit an NCAA DII provisional mark in the women’s high jump at the 10th annual Mondschein Multi on Friday. Competing in the heptathlon for the first time, Matthews placed ninth in her section with a total of 3,987 points. She ran a career-best time of 16.39 in the 100m hurdles and hit 7.83 meters in the shot put. Matthews also ran a 27.96 in the 200m dash and placed fourth with a mark of 5.06 meters in the long jump. She placed second in the 800m run with a time of 2:29.77 and hit 14.94m after competing in the javelin throw for the first time. Matthews’ best finish came in the high jump as her height of 1.68m matched a career-best and bested the NCAA DII provisional mark of 1.67 meters. She also added her name to the PSAC qualifier list in the event. At the 2019 Coach Pollard Invitational at Moravian College, senior Victoria Collins (Abington) was part of the third place 4x400m relay that posted a season best time of 4:03.67, shaving more than three seconds over their previous best time.
