BASEBALL
Freshman Blake Gular (Souderton) hit a grand slam in Bloomsburg’s 14-2 win over Lock Haven in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. It was Gular’s first collegiate grand slam and his third home run of the season. Gular finished the game 2-for-4 with a double, home run, four RBIs and two runs scored. Cole Swiger (Upper Dublin) was 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. In Tuesday’s 15-1 win over Clarion in game one of a doubleheader sweep, freshman Tyler Nowmos (Council Rock North) overshadowed a number of big offensive performances for the Huskies as he became the first Bloomsburg player since computerized stats were kept, beginning in 2000, to hit three home runs in one game. Nowmos went deep in the third, fourth and sixth innings. He entered the day with just six at bats through the first 29 games of the season. He finished by going 3-for-5 with five RBIs and four runs scored. In Bloomsburg’s 9-4 win over Clarion in game two, Swiger was 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Redshirt senior Conner Crookham (Hatboro-Horsham) earned the win on the mound in East Stroudsburg’s 3-1 victory over Kutztown in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Monday. The UD graduate threw six innings, allowing four hits and one run while walking two and striking out six. In ESU’s 10-2 win over Kutztown in game one, redshirt senior Casey Saverio (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.
Joe Molettiere (Pennridge) struck out four in two innings of relief in Monmouth University’s 17-12 win over Columbia on Tuesday.
Shaun Stackhouse (Council Rock South) was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Cabrini’s 9-4 loss to Centenary on Monday.
Jon Mullin (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-4 in Messiah’s 2-1 loss in nine innings to Penn State Harrisburg on Monday.
Sophomore Nick Ponente (Council Rock South) went 5-for-7 with four RBIs and three runs scored in Arcadia’s 27-5 MAC Commonwealth victory at Widener on Friday. In Wednesday’s 15-1 win at Neumann, Ponente was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.
Senior Mike Kacergis (Pennridge) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored in DeSales University’s 7-6 loss to Eastern University in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Thursday’s 15-13 win over Eastern, Kacergis was 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. In Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Rutgers-Camden, Kacergis was 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Senior Cory Capaldi (Souderton) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in Pace University’s 3-2 win over American International College in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Friday’s 8-7 win in 15 innings, Capaldi slammed a double over the left fielder’s head, plating a pair that knotted the score 7-7 in the bottom of the 15th. He also scored the game-winning run. In Wednesday’s 11-9 loss to the University of New Haven, Capaldi had an RBI triple and scored a run. In Tuesday’s 12-11 win over Dominican, Capaldi delivered a pinch hit two-RBI single and scored a run.

Wenger went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Delaware Valley’s 8-1 loss to Wilkes on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 5-4 loss to Manhattanville, Wenger was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.
Nick Bein (Abington) was 2-for-4 in Elizabethtown’s 11-2 loss to Catholic University on Saturday. In Friday’s 4-3 win over Catholic University in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Bein had a single and two RBIs. In Tuesday’s 8-6 win over Dickinson, Bein had an RBI single in a four-run fifth inning. In Monday’s 10-1 win over Albright, Mike Christy (North Penn) extended his hitting streak to 12 games and drove in a game-high three runs. He finished the game 2-for-4.
Trey Guaglionona (Abington) was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored in Penn State Abington’s 11-10 loss to Penn College in game one of a doubleheader split on Friday. Matt Meyers (Cheltenham) had a single and three RBIs. In the Nittany Lions’ 10-7 win in game two, Meyers was 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored, and Guaglionona was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored. In Wednesday’s 6-3 win over John Jay College, Guaglionona was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, RBI and run scored. Junior Dan Halbruner (William Tennent) earned the win on the mound, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out five and walking three in 8.1 innings. In Monday’s doubleheader split with Lancaster Bible, Guaglionona was 5-for-10 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored.
Senior Josh Freed (Souderton) went the distance in Eastern University’s 7-6 win over DeSales in game two of a twinbill split on Saturday. Freed recorded a strikeout on a 3-2 pitch to end the game. He finished with five strikeouts. The Eagles have won all four of Freed’s league starts, and Saturday’s win was the first at DeSales for the Eagles since joining the MAC Freedom in 2008.
Sophomore Carter Usowski (Central Bucks East) was 4-for-5 with five RBIs and three runs scored in Ursinus College’s 16-2 win over Gettysburg in game two of a twinbill split on Saturday. He finished the doubleheader 5-for-9 and drove in six runs.
David Tatoian (Pennridge) was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored and Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) was 1-for-1 with two runs scored in Gwynedd Mercy’s 8-1 win over Centenary in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In the Griffins 7-6 win in game two, Tatoian was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Shaughn Wright (Pennsbury) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Mulvey was 1-for-3 with a triple. In Thursday’s 5-1 non-conference win over Penn State Abington, Zach Dennis (Central Bucks South) earned the win, throwing shutout baseball for 5.1 innings while allowing five hits and striking out a pair. Tatoian threw a one-two-three ninth, striking out a pair. Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and two stolen bases, and Jason Mulvey was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Wright was 1-for-2 with two runs scored. In Monday’s 17-9 loss to Ursinus, Tatoian was 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs. Nick Mulvey was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Junior Patrick Kelley (Central Bucks West) settled in after allowing three runs in the first inning to earn the win in Chestnut Hill’s 5-3 victory over No. 20 Felician University in game one of a doubleheader split on Wednesday. Kelley allowed nine hits and three runs while walking two and fanning four. In a 7-3 loss in game two, sophomore Vincent Case (William Tennent) doubled and drove in a run.
Timothy Brodhag (William Tennent) smacked a two-run home run in Philadelphia University’s 12-4 win over Lincoln in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In the Rams 12-6 win in game two, CJ Kilgarriff (Council Rock North) threw three innings in relief to earn the win. In Friday’s 15-0 win over Lincoln in game one of a twinbill sweep, Casey O’Donnell (Hatboro-Horsham) threw the first five innings, striking out four and allowing five hits to earn the win. In the Rams’ 18-1 win in game two, Kilgarriff threw a scoreless inning in relief, striking out the side. In Monday’s 11-2 win in game two of a doubleheader split with Concordia (N.Y.), Kilgarriff was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three in four innings.
Junior Dan Morrin (Central Bucks East) tossed 4.1 innings of relief, allowing two hits while walking two and striking out four to earn his second win of the season in Moravian’s 8-4 win over Drew on Friday.
Sophomore Sean Maniatis (Pennsbury) picked up the win on the mound in Widener’s 4-3 win in 10 innings over Arcadia in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. He surrendered no hits, no runs, struck out one and did not issue a walk.
Jared Melone (North Penn) hit a three-run double and finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored in No. 17 West Chester’s 10-5 win over Kutztown in game two of doubleheader sweep. Robert Knox (Upper Moreland) was 3-for-3 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot. In West Chester’s 5-0 win in game one, Knox was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Knox finished the day 5-for-7 out of the leadoff spot. In Friday’s 9-3 win over Kutztown in game one of a twinbill sweep, Jon Fisher (Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned the win, allowing five hits and three runs while walking one and striking out four.
MEN’S GOLF
Cabrini junior Clay Anders (Souderton) shot a 74 and finished third at the Cabrini Spring Invitational at Bellewood Country Club on Monday. Cabrini posted a score of 298 to earn a fifth team victory of the year. On Tuesday at the Ursinus College Spring Invitational, Anders tied for 16th with a 78. Cabrini claimed a six-stroke win for its sixth of the year.
Millersville redshirt senior Rodney Anders (Souderton) finished tied for 33rd after shooting an 81 in the first round and an 80 in the second round at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational on Monday.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Freshman Leo Kelly (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had one goal and two assists in Wesley College’s 14-11 loss to Southern Virginia in the team’s final game of the season on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 18-10 loss to Marymount (Va.), Kelly had one goal and one assist. He closed out his freshman season with 10 goals and six assists for 16 points, finishing fourth overall in scoring and leading all freshmen. Kelly scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime of Wesley’s 9-8 win over Rosemont earlier this season.
Chris Fleming (Upper Moreland) had four ground balls in Misericordia’s 20-10 win at Wilkes on Wednesday.
Sean Fechter (Pennridge) scored his third goal of the game 29 seconds into the third overtime to lift Eastern University to a 15-14 win over FDU-Florham on Thursday. Brett McDonald (Council Rock North) was credited with 18 saves as he picked up his second win in as many starts in goal.
Sophomore Riley White (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was credited with three ground balls and six saves in No. 14 Cabrini’s 22-5 win at Neumann on Wednesday.
Freshman Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) reached another major milestone in No 13 Princeton’s 16-6 win
over Dartmouth on Saturday. His three goals and three assists gives him 31 goals and 34 assists for 65 points. He is now the third play in program history with at least 30 goals and 30 assists in the game season. He is now in sole possession of the Princeton record for goals in a season by a freshman. Sowers already had the record for points in a season by a freshman, and he now has 65, two behind Rob Pannell of Cornell for the Ivy League freshman record. His 31 goals tie for third all-time among Ivy freshmen. In addition, he is now ninth on Princeton’s single-season points list. In Tuesday’s 15-10 loss to Princeton, Sowers broke Kevin Lowe’s 26-year-old record for points by a freshman with a one-goal, three-assist night, giving him 59 points for the season, four better than the Hall of Famer. Sowers also tied the Princeton freshman goals record of 28 set in 2010.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Freshman Devon Mela (Council Rock North) scored five goals to help Albright rout Hood 17-7 on Thursday night.
Brenda McDermott (North Penn) had four goals and one assist in Temple 11-10 win at Vanderbilt on Saturday. The win clinched a BIG EAST Tournament berth. In Temple’s 19-7 win over Butler on Wednesday, McDermott had a hat trick.
Sophomore attacker Francesca Donato (Neshaminy) recorded a career-high six points on a career-high four goals and two assists to lead Saint Joseph’s to a 15-6 win over La Salle on Saturday. In Thursday’s 18-17 win over VCU, Donato, had two goals and an assist and matched a game-high with four ground balls.
Christy Knipe (Pennridge) and Gina Giovinco (Pennridge) each scored a goal in Gwynedd Mercy’s 19-6 win at Cedar Crest on Tuesday. Knipe chipped in four draw controls, which was a personal best, and a caused turnover.
Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) tied a program record with nine goals in Keystone College’s 23-8 win at Rosemont College on Tuesday.
Freshman Erin Putnam (Central Bucks South) recorded nine saves in Scranton’s 15-11 win over Elizabethtown on Thursday. Elizabethtown goalie Abby Kopytko (Council Rock North) also had nine saves.
Junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) scored five goals to lead the attack in East Stroudsburg’s 16-10 win over No. 10 Mercyhurst on Saturday. Senior Lauren Green (North Penn) added one goal and seven assists. In Wednesday’s 14-12 win over Shippensburg, Rahmer scored four goals and Green added one goal and three assists.
Sophomore Melissa Felicetti (Upper Moreland) fell one goal shy of tying the single game goals record of nine in Penn State Abington’s 24-22 loss to Hilbert on Saturday.
Samantha Ryder (Pennridge) had a four-point afternoon with three goals and one assist in Philadelphia University’s 26-10 win at Holy Family on Saturday. Alyssa Matthews (Pennsbury) stopped five shots in goal to pick up her first collegiate victory. In Wednesday’s 16-15 loss in overtime to Wilmington (Del.), Rider scored twice, and Matthew stopped six shots, all in the first half. In Monday’s 18-1 non-conference loss to 16th-ranked Mercy College, Matthews tallied the Philadelphia goal, her 12th of the season.
Makayla Bowman (North Penn) had a pair of goals in Kutztown’s 13-12 overtime win over Millersville on Wednesday.
Sophomore Kyra Shank (Souderton) recorded her first hat trick of the season and second of her career in Shippensburg’s 14-12 loss to No. 20 Seton Hill on Saturday. Junior Allison Fugate (Pennridge) also contributed a goal. In Wednesday’s 14-12 loss to East Stroudsburg, Fugate had a hat trick while Shank added a goal.
Allison Hawkins (Cheltenham) had a goal in Pitt’s 13-12 win over Michigan to capture the WCLA Regional championship in club lacrosse on Sunday. With the win, top-ranked Pitt has earned an automatic bid to the WCLA National Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah, May 10-13. In Pitt’s 18-6 win over Northwestern, Hawkins had a pair of goals. In Pitt’s 19-8 win over Michigan State, Hawkins reached a milestone when she scored a goal that represented the 100th of her career.
SOFTBALL
Lauren Creamer (Neshaminy) was 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, three RBIs and two runs scored in Susquehanna’s 6-2 win over Juniata in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, In Susquehanna’s 10-0 win in six innings in the second game, Creamer hammered her second home run of the day with a grand slam to center field. She finished the game with two hits and six RBIs.
Alyssa Wilkinson (Quakertown) was 2-for-4 with a run scored in Elizabethtown’s 5-4 win over Drew in game two of Friday’s doubleheader split. In Elizabethtown’s 5-4 loss to Drew in game one, Wilkinson was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored.

In Friday’s doubleheader sweep of East Stroudsburg, Klee led the Raiders, finishing 5-for-8 with two doubles and a team-high five RBIs. In Shippensburg’s 8-2 win in game one, Klee was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored. In the Raiders’ 6-4 win in game two, Klee was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and one run scored. Maddie Mulhall (Quakertown) was 1-for-3.
Freshman Jamie Gosselin (Abington) hit a walk-off grand slam in Widener’s 6-4 win over Albright on Thursday. It was her first career home run and completed a doubleheader sweep. Gosselin finished the game 3-for-4 with a double, home run, five RBIs and a run scored. Ally Horvath (Central Bucks South) was 1-for-2 with a run scored. In Widener’s 5-0 win in game one, Horvath was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.

In Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Chestnut Hill, Alfonsi was 1-for-2 with a sacrifice bunt. In Tuesday’s 7-1 win over Cabrini in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Alfonsi had an RBI single.
Nikki Canfield (Souderton) tied a career-best with four RBIs while going 2-for-3 with a bases-clearing triple in Gwynedd Mercy’s 15-5 win over Notre Dame of Maryland in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Monday.
Junior Becca Dougherty (Council Rock South) was 6-of-8 with three RBIs and five runs scored in Penn State Abington’s sweep of Lancaster Bible on Saturday. In the Nittany Lions’ 14-0 win in game two, Dougherty earned the win in the circle, allowing just three hits while striking out five. She also was 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles, two RBIs and four runs scored. Caitlin Brasier (Harry S Truman) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. In the Lions’ 8-2 win in game one, Brasier (triple, RBI) and Dougherty (RBI, run scored) were both 2-for-4. In a 5-1 loss to Penn State Berks on Friday, Dougherty was 2-for-2 with a solo home run. In Tuesday’s 9-1 win over Wesley in game one of a doubleheader sweep, senior Emily Wrenn (Hatboro-Horsham) earned the win, allowing five hits and one earned run in four innings. In Cairn’s 9-1 win over Brooklyn in game one of a twinbill sweep on Tusday, Reiss was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Her two long balls were her first two of the season, and she finished 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.

Sean Kimball (Central Bucks East) earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at second flight singles while Tarik Dashields (Cheltenham) notched a 6-3, 6-2 win at third flight singles in Penn State Abington’s 9-0 win over Penn College on Friday. Alexander Dunetz (Wissahickon) earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at sixth flight singles. Kimball was part of an 8-0 win at first doubles, Dashields was part of an 8-3 win at second doubles, and Dunetz was part of an 8-1 win at third doubles.
Senior Jason Cavell (Council Rock North) earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at fifth flight singles in Gwynedd Mercy’s 9-0 win over Marywood on Thursday.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Hanora Hegarty (Abington) earned a 6-1, 7-5 win at top flight singles while Stephanie Jin (Wissahickon) notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at second flight singles in Penn State Abington’s 9-0 win over Penn College on Friday. Hegerty and Jin also were part of wins at first doubles (8-2) and second doubles (8-1) respectively.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Elizabethtown junior Mitch Schlegel (Souderton) placed in the top 10 at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell, running a season-best 48.94 in the 400m to finish 10th overall. His time was .20 off his personal best from the 2015 Landmark Outdoor Championships. He also competed in the 200 where he ran 22.71.
Joe McCoy (Neshaminy) was part of Gwynedd Mercy’s second place 4×100 relay team that clocked an ECAC qualifying time of 42.86 at the seventh annual Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Meet on Wednesday. Lock Haven’s Lamier Dodson (Bensalem) finished ninth in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 179-11 at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. The throw was fifth all-time in LHU history. Jack Felt (Council Rock North) ran a personal best time in the 800m, crossing the line in 1:54.00 to finish 18th overall. The time is the fifth fastest in LHU history. Joey Spallinger (North Penn) just missed the PSAC qualifying standard in the 400m hurdles, finishing in a personal best time of 57.60. On Friday, Henry Colby (William Tennent) cruised to a PSAC qualifying time in the 10,000m run with a time of 32:25.07. Julien Freeman (Harry S Truman) soared to a PSAC qualifying mark in the triple jump with a jump of 45-1.5 feet, placing 13th out of 26 competitors.
Shippensburg’s Brian Iatarola (Central Bucks West) posted a PSAC qualifying time of 9:51.07 in the 3K steeplechase at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell. At Friday’s annual Mondschein Multis hosted by Kutztown, senior Matthew Merritt (Upper Dublin) posted a score of 4,775 points. Merritt ran the 110-meter hurdles in 18.39 seconds and cleared 11 feet, 3 inches in the pole vault. On Thursday, Merritt posted 589 points in both the 100 meters (12.32 seconds) and the long jump (19-8 ¾) among his five events on the day.
Ursinus freshman Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) took more than 1.50 seconds off his previous personal best in the 400m dash to cross the line in 53.99 at Moravian’s Greyhound Invitational on Saturday. In Wednesday’s Mid-Week Twilight Invitational at Gwynedd Mercy, freshman Daniel Powell (Central Bucks East) competed in the 5K for the first time in his career, posting a time of 16:44.43. Johnson posted a time of 1:04.81 in the 400m hurdles to finish ninth.
Widener sophomore Sean Stovall (Springfield) finished fifth in the 400m intermediate hurdles in a collegiate best time of 56.80 seconds at the Chester Quarry Classic on Saturday. Senior Alex Cucciarre (Souderton) finished third with a mark of 165-5.25 in the javelin throw.
Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) and Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield) were part of Kutztown’s 4x100m relay team that posted the third fastest time in program history at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. With a time of 41.83, the quartet improved on their season-best time by .27 seconds and fell .19 seconds shy of the school record set in 2001. They won their heat that featured six teams and placed third overall out of 17 teams. Johnson finished sixth in the 200m with a PSAC existing time of 22.21. Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) recorded a top five finish in a pole vault field that included 33 competitors. He passed the first four heights before clearing 4.65m (15-03.00), an existing PSAC mark, on his first attempt. Ryan Benner (Pennridge) missed out on a PSAC mark by .09 seconds in the 100m.
Bloomsburg junior Alex Moran (Pennridge) finished 26th overall in the 400m hurdles with a PSAC qualifying mark of 56.23 at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. Senior James Wilson (Central Bucks South) posted a time of 1:57.40 – just 15 hundredths of a second off of the PSAC standard. Moran nearly qualified in the 110m hurdles with his time of 16.44, which was four tenths of a second off the standard. On Friday, Declan McDonald (Central Bucks West) was 30th in the 10,000m run with a time of 35:32.91. Wilson got under the PSAC standard in the 1500m run with a time of 4:04.67. Freshman Matthew Hart (Pennsbury) had a mark of 48.36m in the javelin.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Elizabethtown’s Kelsey Brady (Council Rock South) posted a time of 4:36.69 in the 1500m to come within .67 of the school record at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell on Saturday. The time moved the junior from sixth to third all-time.
Messiah’s Natalie Ross (Souderton) moved up in the top 10 for the steeplechase at the Bison Outdoor Classic, finishing with a time of 11:20 to sit in third place.
Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) was part of Ursinus College’s 4x100m relay that clocked a time of 51.43 to finish fourth in the CC at Gwynedd Mercy’s Mid-Week Twilight Invitational on Wednesday. Senior Samantha Innes (Hatboro-Horsham) posted a collegiate PR of 20:51.94 and finished eighth in the 5000m run.
Jasmine Noble (Central Bucks East) and Emily Magnant (Hatboro-Horsham) were part of West Chester’s 4x100m relay team that set a new school record with a time of 47.17 that was just .17 off a NCAA provisional standard at the Chester Quarry Meet on Saturday. Magnant finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.723. Allison King (North Penn) finished sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.18. Dara Lindsey (Central Bucks East) finished third in the 400m with a time of 59.37. On Friday, sophomore Caroline DiJiosia (Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned fourth place in the women’s heptathlon at the Mondeschein Multis at Kutztown University. DiJosia accumulated 4,036 points over the course of the two-day event. The sophomore improved 13 spots in addition to 1,125 points from last year’s meet. During the heptathlon, she won the 200m by clocking in a time of 27.08. She also tied for second in the long jump (16-7.25) and fifth in the 800m (2:35.98).
Shippensburg freshman Dior Alston (Cheltenham) posted a collegiate best of 56.96 in the 400m to place sixth at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. It was her second 400m run of the season and a six-second improvement from her debut in the season opener three weeks ago. Freshman Jordan Higgins (Hatboro-Horsham) posted a PSAC qualifying time of 1:03.97 in the 400m hurdles. It was a season and collegiate best of more than 2.5 seconds and puts her among the PSAC’s top five. Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) posted a PSAC qualifying time of 12.78 in the 100m. Sophomore Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) achieved a personal best in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:35.31, a PSAC qualifying time that should have her among the conference’s top five seeds. The performance is a 17-second PR for Gerlach, improving on her previous best set last season. Sophomore Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) made her collegiate 10K debut Friday night, posting a PSAC qualifying time of 37:53 that should slot her among the top 10 seeds on the league’s performance list.
Kutztown’s Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) posted a PSAC qualifying and season best time of 2:20.83 in the 800m at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. On Friday, Bresadola posted a career best and PSAC qualifying time of 4:43.53 in the 1500m to finish in sixth place. The time is ninth all-time at KU.
Widener junior Allison Gallagher (Souderton) completed the 400m hurdles in a season-best time of 1:10.71 at the Chester Quarry Classic on Saturday.
Bloomsburg freshman Jessica Milligan (Pennridge) narrowly missed qualifying in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.09 – three-tenths of a second off the standard – at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. On Friday senior Keelan McDonald (Central Bucks West) posted an NCAA provisional mark in the 10,000m run with a time of 36:50.53, finishing 25th overall. Senior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) posted a time of 11:21.59 to qualify for the conference meet in the 3000m steeplechase.
East Stroudsburg sophomore Victoria Matthews (Abington) posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 800m (2:19.79) on Saturday at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. Sophomore Leiana Dean (North Penn) was part of ESU’s 4x100m relay team the completed the race in a time of 47.81, which ranks number four all-time.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Daniel Ford (Council Rock North) had 26 assists and Nick Bennett (Central Bucks East) recorded five blocks in Saint Francis University’s 3-1 win over Charleston on Saturday. In Friday’s 3-0 sweep of George Mason, Ford had 43 assists.
Vassar College senior Christian Lizana (Pennridge) was named to the United Volleyball Conference’s 2017 All-UVC team. The team captain and outside hitter picked up one UVC Player of the Week honor this season and finished with 2.35 kills per set, second best on the team. Lizana’s hitting percentage of .261 was the best of his career by almost .100, and he has added 138 digs while chalking up only nine receiving errors all season in 511 total receptions. He also posted a career-high 17 kills in the season opener against Hope International.
Lizana posted six kills and eight digs in No. 2 Vassar’s 3-1 loss to defending national champion New Paltz on Friday night in the UVC semifinals. The Brewers will now wait and hope that their name will be picked for an at-large bid to be among the field of teams for the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
Senior Michael Fehrs (Central Bucks West) had 10 kills in third-seeded Stevenson’s 3-1 loss to second-seeded Juniata in the Continental Volleyball Conference semifinals on Friday.
