Ricky Dennis (Central Bucks South) earned the complete game win in Monmouth University’s 4-1 win over Saint Peter’s in game one of Saturday’s twinbill split. The CB South grad allowed one run on two hits while striking out seven.
Freshman Nicke Ponente (Council Rock South) was 3-for-6 with a double, RBI and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot in Arcadia’s 14-8 win over Stevenson on Friday. Senior Jason Goldberg (Central Bucks East) earned the win, allowing seven hits and five runs with five strikeouts in six innings.
Junior Cory Capaldi (Souderton) was 3-for-6 with a double and run scored in Pace University’s 5-4 loss in 15 innings at Le Moyne College on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 24-4 win over Caldwell, Capaldi was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored.
Junior Kyle Wenger (Souderton) was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in Delaware Valley’s 6-4 win at Misericordia on Friday.
Joey Nieves-Markee (Bensalem) was 2-for-2 in Cairn University’s 3-1 win over Summit University in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday.
Senior Steve Wright (Council Rock South) singled to stretch his hitting streak to 15 games in Gettysburg’s 12-2 loss to Washington College in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Friday’s 9-5 win over Dickinson, Wright had a pair of hits.
David Blount (Harry S Truman) had a two-run single while David Tatoian (Pennridge) had a pair of hits in Gwynedd Mercy’s 13-6 loss to Albright on Sunday. In Friday’s 9-5 loss to Penn State Abington, Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI, run scored and two stolen bases to up his team-leading tally to 19. In Thursday’s 13-11 win over Neumann in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Tatoian recorded a pair of hits. In Gwynedd’s 8-1 win over Neumann in game two, Mulvey was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Blount and Tatoian each contributed a hit and RBI.
Sophomore Matt Radwanski (Central Bucks South) did not allow a hit and fanned two in three scoreless innings in relief to earn the save in Ursinus College’s 7-6 win over Franklin & Marshall on Friday night.
Brennan Snyder (Central Bucks West) hit a three-run double and scored in Elizabethtown's 17-1 victory over Merchant Marine Sunday. He finished the game 2-for-6 with three RBIs and a run scored. In Wednesday's 15-6 win over Albright, Snyder was as 2-for-4 with three RBIs and one run scored, Nick Bein (Abington) was 1-for-1 with an RBI, and Ryan Schamp (Central Bucks West) was 1-for-1 with a run scored.
Jon Mullin (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Messiah’s 11-1 win over Lebanon Valley in game one of a doubleheader sweep last Sunday. Mullin was 1-for-2 with a double in Messiah’s 3-1 win over LVC in game two.
Greg McDonough (Wissahickon) was 3-for-4 with a double and run scored in Widener’s 18-18 tie with Eastern University after nine innings on Wednesday.
Senior Robert Slagle III (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was 3-for-5 in Chestnut Hill’s 6-3 win over Wilmington University in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. Patrick Campion (Norristown) and Brandon DiBona (William Tennent) both contributed a single and RBI. Dylan Borawski (North Penn) earned the win with six strong innings of relief, allowing three hits and one run while walking three and striking out two. In Thursday’s 5-4 loss to Dominican College, freshman third baseman Zach Szumigala (Pennsbury) recorded two hits. In Chestnut Hill’s 7-6 loss to Dominican in the nightcap, Slagle had a pair of RBIs. Patrick Kelley (Central Bucks West) allowed just two runs on nine hits in seven innings while striking out nine but did not figure in the decision.

In the Nittany Lions’ 10-2 win in game two, Pletscher hit a two-run home run. In Friday’s 9-5 win over Gwynedd Mercy, Greg Mugnier (Abington) earned his first win of the season, allowing three hits and fanning seven in four shutout innings. Matt Meyers (Cheltenham) was 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored. Pat Fitzgerald (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run.
Ryan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) tossed a perfect inning with two strikeouts to earn his third save of the season in St. Joseph’s 3-1 win over Massachusetts on Friday. In Wednesday’s 7-3 win over Monmouth, Kelly retired the side in order in the bottom of the ninth, which included a pair of strikeouts.
Conner Crookham (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run in East Stroudsburg’s 4-1 win over Lock Haven in game two of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In Tuesday’s 17-3 win over the University of the Sciences, Crookham was 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs. Junior Casey Saverio (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Zach Schram (Council Rock North) was 2-for-6 with two runs scored in Kutztown’s 10-5 win over Shippensburg in game two of a doubleheader split Saturday. Freshman Eric Lane (Hatboro-Horsham) pitched 2.2 innings of relief to close out the game. In KU’s 5-4 loss in extra innings in the opener, Lane was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
MEN’S LACROSSE
The Cabrini family suffered a tragic loss when freshman men’s lacrosse student-athlete John “Jake” Durkin (Hatboro-Horsham) passed away on Sunday, April 10. Durkin was a recent transfer student, starting the spring semester as a walk-on member of the lacrosse team. He was pursuing business at Cabrini, and in five games this season, he contributed three goals and three assists.
Chris Fleming (Upper Moreland) scored a goal in Misericordia’s 13-7 loss to DeSales University on Wednesday.
Jacob Snavely (Central Bucks South) scored a pair of goals in Gwynedd Mercy’s 8-6 win over Centenary on Saturday.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) was credited with three ground balls and an assist in No. 5/8 Louisville’s 10-9 loss to No. 11/14 Virginia on Saturday.
Senior Kelly Cross (Upper Dublin) forced a turnover and picked up the ground ball with 32 seconds remaining to secure No. 4/4 Syracuse’s 8-7 victory at Albany on Tuesday. In Saturday’s 12-11 loss to No. 3/3 North Carolina, Cross contributed a pair of goals. The loss halted a five-game winning streak.
Senior Brenda McDermott (North Penn) had two assists and a goal in Temple’s 12-10 loss at Marquette on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 9-8 loss to the University of Connecticut, McDermott contributed two goals and an assist.
Senior defender Caroline Hagan (Hatboro-Horsham) scooped up a single game career high five ground balls and matched a game high three caused turnovers in St. Joseph’s 20-9 win over St. Bonaventure on Sunday. The SJU’s school record holder in career caused turnovers now owns 77 for her career. Junior midfielder Taylor Dachowski (Pennridge) scored her first goal of the season, and graduate student Ashley Alden (William Tennent) faced three shots and recorded one save. In Friday’s 9-8 overtime win over Duquesne, Hagan was credited with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Makayla Bowman (North Penn) and Aimee Beck (Pennridge) each scored a goal in Kutztown’s 18-7 loss to IUP on Saturday.
Sophomore Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) scored two goals and junior Lauren Green (North Penn) added a single goal in No. 19 East Stroudsburg’s 18-5 win over Kutztown on Wednesday. The win was a school record 12th win.
Kathryn Reinhart (Pennridge) scored a goal in Gwynedd Mercy’s 20-3 CSAC win over Cedar Crest Tuesday.
Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) recorded a game-high eight points with four goals and four assists in Keystone’s 19-11 loss to Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday. She also was credited with two ground balls. In Monday’s 12-9 win over Notre Dame of Maryland, Hawkins led all players with seven points on five goals and two assists to go along with a pair of caused turnovers and a game-best five draw controls.
Anna Studenmund (Springfield) scored three goals, Allison Hawkins (Cheltenham) had two goals and one assist, Julie McKay (Hatboro-Horsham) added one goal and one assist in the University of Pittsburgh’s 14-13 overtime loss to Michigan in the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse League finals on Sunday. Earlier in the day, Pitt defeated Notre Dame 14-11 in a win that included Studenmund scoring three goals and Hawkins adding one. In Saturday’s 15-3 win over Michigan State, Studenmund had a hat trick, Hawkins added two goals and two caused turnovers, and McKay had a pair of goals. All three are among the WCLL stat leaders. Studenmund is third in goals scored, Hawkins is fourth and McKay is ninth. Hawkins is seventh in assists and Studenmund, ninth. Studenmund is third in total points and Hawkins is sixth on the highly competitive collegiate club circuit.
Stephanie Hogan (Central Bucks West) scored five goals in Eastern University’s 11-10 win over Manhattanville on Saturday.
Freshman Kyra Shank (Souderton) had two goals and sophomore Allison Fugate (Pennridge) added
one goal and two ground balls in Shippensburg’s 13-10 win over Edinboro on Saturday. Senior Ally Frymoyer (Upper Merion) made her 65th career start for the Raiders. She has been the starting goalkeeper for every SU contest since her arrival at the beginning of the 2013 season. Frymoyer made three saves in each half on Saturday for the win. Her six saves bring her career total to 555 in more than 3,600 minutes of lacrosse, including at least 100 saves in all four of her seasons as a Raider. In Tuesday’s 16-4 loss to No. 7 West Chester, Fugate scored a goal while Frymoyer made nine saves and led the team with three ground balls.
Freshman Sarah Gallagher (Upper Dublin) made six saves in goal in La Salle’s 14-8 loss to George Mason on Friday.
Jamie Damirgian (Council Rock South) contributed a goal in Millersville’s 13-9 loss to Slippery Rock on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 20-16 road win over Shepherd, Damirgian finished with a season high four goals.
SOFTBALL
Valerie Sadowl (Hatboro-Horsham) hit a three-run home run that broke a 5-5 tie in Connecticutt’s 8-5 come-from-behind win over East Carolina on Saturday afternoon in a contest UConn trailed 5-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth. Sadowl finished the game 2-for-3 with four RBIs. In Wednesday’s 6-0 win over Central Connecticut State, Dominique Pinto (Council Rock North) was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Caitlin Basier (Harry S Truman) doubled and also hit a three-run home run in Immaculata’s 13-4 win over Centenary in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In last Wednesday’s doubleheader sweep of Keystone, Brasier earned the complete game five-inning 9-1 win in game one, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out three. She was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Immaculata’s 14-2 win in game two.
Junior Julia Schoenewald (Central Bucks East) had an RBI in Brown University’s 7-3 loss to Boston University on Wednesday. In Brown’s 9-1 win over Princeton in game one of last Sunday’s doubleheader split, Schoenewald was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.
Senior Haileigh Stocks (Central Bucks South) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in Robert Morris University’s 3-1 win over Sacred Heart in game one of a doubleheader split on Sunday. In Saturday’s 4-1 loss to LIU Brooklyn, Stocks hit her seventh double of the season and 32nd of her career, moving her into a tie for third all-time by a Colonial in that category.
Lauren Quense (Neshaminy) tossed a one-hit shutout in Fordham’s 3-0 win over Saint Louis in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. It was the fourth shutout of the season for the Neshaminy grad and her second one-hitter as she earned her 12th victory.

Emily Wrenn (Hatboro-Horsham) earned the win, allowing six hits and three runs (one earned). In Wednesday’s 6-5 win over Lancaster Bible in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Dougherty was 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBIs and one run. In the Nittany Lions’ 16-0 win in game two, Whitney DeLagol (William Tennent) was 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. Amy Worek (Abington) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. In Monday’s 6-1 loss to Penn State Berks, Worek was 4-for-5 with an RBI double.

The sweep upped the Huskies’ winning streak to 21 games. In Friday’s 7-2 win over Mansfield in game one of a twinbill sweep, Mayhew was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. In Bloomsburg’s 9-1 win in game two, Mayhew was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. In Wednesday’s 9-1 win over Clarion in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Bridget Casey (Pennridge) contributed an RBI double. In Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Lock Haven in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Mayhew was 2-for-3 with an RBI. In the Huskies’ 7-5 win in game two, Casey was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. Mayhew singled and drove in a run.
Maria Spinosa (Hatboro-Horsham) singled and scored the game-winning run in Millersville’s 1-0 walk-off win over No. 12 West Chester in game one of a twinbill sweep on Saturday. Spinosa finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored. In Millersville’s 3-1 win in game two, Jaynie Black (Hatboro-Horsham) delivered an RBI double to plate Spinosa, who also doubled. In Friday’s 7-6 loss to Shippensburg in game two of a doubleheader split, Heather Lutz (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run. Spinosa was 2-for-4 with a run scored. As a result of the split, Millersville clinched the program’s first ever trip to the PSAC tournament.

In ESU’s 9-1 loss in game one, Dundee hit a solo home run. In Wednesday’s 4-3 win over Bloomfield in game two of a twinbill split, Dundee was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Rae Holden (Abington) was 1-for-2 with a run scored.
Mollie Burrell (Souderton) had a pair of hits in Philadelphia University’s 9-0 win over Cabrini in game two of a twinbill split on Monday. Monica Levins (Norristown) drove in the ninth run with a two-out single in the top of the fifth.
Nikki Canfield (Souderton) was 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs, one run and one stolen base in Gwynedd Mercy’s 9-1 win over Rosemont in game one of a twinbill sweep on Saturday. In Gwynedd’s 7-0 win in game two, Becki Christoffers (North Penn) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. In Friday’s 6-2 loss to Cabrini in game one of a twinbill split, Christoffers tripled in a run. The game marked the 13th straight contest she reached base. In Thursday’s 9-7 win over Centenary in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Christoffers had two hits and two RBIs.
MEN’S TENNIS
Charles Rushing (Pennsbury) earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles in West Chester’s 9-0 win over Millersville on Thursday.
Penn State Abington sophomore Mohammed Ammouni (Bensalem) was named the NEAC West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 10. The Bensalem graduate earned two conference wins in singles and doubles. In the Nittany Lions sweep of Lancaster Bible, Ammouni won the top flight with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory in singles and was part of the doubles teams that earned an 8-1 decision. At Penn College, he earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision in singles action and battled to an 8-5 victory in doubles.
Peter Brzezinski (Hatboro-Horsham) earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at first singles and was part of the winning first doubles team (8-3) in Gwynedd Mercy’s 8-1 win at Summit University on Saturday. Gwynedd will be the number one seed in the CSAC Team Tournament. In Friday’s 9-0 win over Neumann, Brzezinski earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles and an 8-0 win in first doubles. In Wednesday’s 9-0 win over Keystone, Brzezinski was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at first singles and part of an 8-2 win at first doubles.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Penn State junior Honora Hegarty (Abington) was named the NEAC West Women’s Tennis Player of the
Week for the week ending April 10. The Abington graduate earned a pair of conference wins in singles and doubles over Lancaster Bible and Penn College. At the number one position against the Chargers, Hegarty won 6-1, 6-2 in singles and 8-3 in doubles. Against the Wildcats, the junior battled to a 6-4, 6-4 win in singles and an 8-3 victory in doubles.
Hegerty earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and was part of an 8-0 win at first doubles in Penn State Abington’s 9-0 win over Bryn Athyn on Saturday. Amanda Shulski (Neshaminy) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles and was part of the second doubles team’s 8-0 win. In Friday’s 9-0 win over Maryland Eastern Shore, Hegarty earned a 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 win at first singles. Shulski was victorious at second singles by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and also was part of the first doubles team that earned an 8-3 win.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
University of Pennsylvania sophomore Jeff Wiseman (Council Rock South) nabbed gold in the 800 with a time of 1:51.79 at the Chester Quarry Classic hosted by Widener University on Saturday.
La Salle junior Chris Sanders (Upper Merion) was named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 10. Sanders topped the 50-man field in the 800m at the Sam Howell Invitational with a time of 1:50.14 to best the nearest competitor by .23 seconds. The time was also the top in the Atlantic 10 this spring by 1.97 seconds.
University of Pittsburgh junior Chris Spadaro (Council Rock South) placed second in the triple jump (14.02m) and fourth in the long jump (7.05m) at the six-team Louisville Invitational on Saturday.
Kutztown senior Ron Smith (Neshaminy) finished 12th in the 200m dash with an existing PSAC time of 22.42 seconds at Bucknell University’s Bison Classic. He also was part of KU’s 4x100m relay team that finished fourth with a time of 42.86 seconds and the 4x400m relay team that placed second in 3:19.42. Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) earned a berth in the finals in the 110m hurdles after posting a career-best time of 15.07 in the prelims. In the finals, he placed sixth with an existing PSAC time of 15.34. Sophomore Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) finished second in the pole vault, posting an existing PSAC mark of 4.70m.
Philadelphia University freshman Shane Fleming (Upper Merion) posted a time of 4:40:77 in the 1500m run at the Danny Curran Invitational. Saad Traboulsi (Bensalem) crossed the finish line in 4:46.55.
IUP sophomore Austin Cooper (Upper Merion) posted a PSAC qualifying mark on day one of Bucknell University’s Bison Outdoor Classic in the 1500m with a time of 3:51.39, which is the second fastest time in the PSAC so far this outdoor season.
Shippensburg sophomore Alex Balla (Quakertown) posted a NCAA-provisional qualifying time of 30:35.75 at the Bucknell’s Bison Open, besting his outdoor PR by 68 seconds. That previous outdoor PR, 31:42.49, placed him fourth at last year’s PSAC Outdoor Championships. Overall, Balla’s run is a three-second personal best compared to his cross country times, as he ran 30:38 in placing fifth at the 2015 NCAA Atlantic Region Championships. Senior Matthew Merritt (Upper Dublin) finished 25th overall in the decathlon at the Mondschein Multis hosted by Kutztown University, totaling a score of 4,361 points in a courageous effort while battling through injury.
Ursinus sophomore Jequan Mitchell (Upper Merion) placed eighth in the 200 (23.10) and sixth in the 400 with a collegiate best of 50.47 at Gwynedd Mercy’s Twilight Invitational on Wednesday. His time in the 400 placed him third on the Centennial Conference performance list.
Lock Haven sophomore Julien Freeman (Harry S Truman) was 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 44-04.75, a PSAC standard, at Bucknell’s Bison Invitational on Saturday.
West Chester junior Bryan Reice (Neshaminy) finished third in the 100m dash with a time of 11.21 at the Chester Quarry Classic on Saturday.
Bloomsburg junior James Wilson (Central Bucks South) posted a career best time of 4:08.40 in the 1500m at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic.
East Stroudsburg junior Sean Hagerty (Pennridge) extended his PSAC mark in the long jump to 22-4 ¼ at Moravian on Saturday.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Moravian College sophomore jumper Casie Cronk (Quakertown) has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the week for her performance the week ending Feb. 21. Cronk won the high jump at the Kutztown University Last Chance Qualifier with an ECAC Division II qualifying height of 1.59 meters (5-2.5). The mark ranks eighth best in school history.
Shippensburg freshman Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) notched a PSAC qualifying time in the 1500m at Bucknell’s Bison Open, posting a time of 4:55.03.
Messiah junior Natalie Ross (Souderton) posted a new record time in the 1500 (4:58.31) at Bucknell University’s Bison Outdoor Classic.
Ursinus junior Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) placed fifth in the 100m dash (13.06) and was runner-up in the 200 where her mark of 26.41 tops the Centennial Conference charts at the Twilight Invite at Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday. Sophomore Jenna Kelly (Upper Merion) logged a personal best in the 800, finishing sixth in a conference-qualifying time of 2:27.02.
Temple junior Sydnee Jacques (North Penn) placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.47 meters at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday.
Kaitlyn Lutz (Upper Merion), Emily Makara (Council Rock South) and Zakiyyah Richardson (Pennsbury) were part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4×800 relay that hit the ECAC qualifying mark with a time of 9:51.76 at Wednesday’s Twilight Invitational hosted by Gwynedd. Lutz and Richardson were also part of the first place 4×400 relay that clocked in a time of 4:12.86. Lutz finished fifth in the 800m run (2:26.39).
Moravian sophomore Beth Ann Davies (Quakertown) cleared 3.35 meters (10-11.75) at the 2016 Greyhound Invitational on Saturday, vaulting the Quakertown grad into the ECAC meet.
Kutztown sophomore Anecia Alexaki (Upper Merion) posted a season best height and PSAC mark of 10-11.75 in the pole vault to finish 11th at Bucknell University’s Bison Classic. Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) finished 13th in the 1500m in a season best time of 4:44.60, 10th all-time at KU. Olivia Dettore (Central Bucks West) posted a season best time in the 5000m (18:57.20).
West Chester junior Emily Dusellier (Souderton) finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:14.45 at the Chester Quarry Classic on Saturday. Courtney Taylor (Central Bucks South) finished fourth in the 200m run (25.69). Dara Lindsey (Central Bucks East) was third in the 400m. Both Lindsey and Dusellier were part of the fourth place 4×400 relay. Christine Johnson (North Penn) finished fourth in the shot put (11.33 meters). At the Mondshein Multi on Friday, Caroline DiJosia (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished 17th in the heptathlon with 2,911 points.
Bloomsburg junior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) posted a season best time of 11:29.84 in the 1500m invite at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic.
