Justin Andrews (Neshaminy) entered the game with two outs in the ninth and induced a fly ball out of the first batter he faced for the game’s final out in Monmouth University’s 5-3 win over Marist on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 13-12 loss at Lafayette, Joe Molettiere (Pennridge) allowed just one hit and no runs in 1.2 innings in relief.
Ryan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) worked around a lead-off single to close out his fifth save of the season and second in as many days in St. Joseph’s 3-2 win over Saint Louis on Saturday. In Friday’s 3-2 win over Saint Louis, Kelly allowed a walk and single in the ninth but recorded back-to-back strikeouts to finish off his fourth save of the season.
Senior Steve Wright (Council Rock South) was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored in Gettysburg’s 5-1 win over Muhlenberg in game two of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In Gettysburg’s 9-8 come-from-behind win in game one, Wright doubled and scored. In Tuesday’s 7-7 tie with Johns Hopkins after 12 innings, Wright was 3-for-5 with a double and triple at the plate while stretching his hitting streak to 18 games. In last Sunday’s sweep of Swarthmore, Wright hit safely in both games to push his hitting streak to 17 games.
Jared Melone (North Penn) was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored out of the leadoff spot in La Salle’s 8-2 loss to UMass on Sunday. In Saturday’s doubleheader split with UMass, Melone had four hits between the two games. In Wednesday’s 5-2 loss at Villanova, Melone and Justin Jacko (Pennsbury) both finished 1-for-3 with one RBI. In Tuesday’s 7-3 loss at Penn, Melone was 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Colton Hooker (Upper Moreland) was 2-for-5 with a double and RBI in Northampton’s 8-0 win over Luzerne on Thursday.
Freshman Nick Ponente (Council Rock South) was 1-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in Arcadia’s 4-3 win over Lebanon Valley on Friday.
Penn State Abington junior Greg Mugnier (Abington) was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference
(NEAC) Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 17. Mugnier earned his first win of the season in a 9-5 victory over Gwynedd Mercy. In four innings of work, he recorded seven strikeouts and only allowed three hits. In the Nittany Lions’ doubleheader against Penn College, he pitched in both games and recorded a win in one and a save in the other.
Mugnier earned the win in Penn State Abington’s 5-4 win in 12 innings over Cazenovia in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. He allowed one hit and one run (unearned) in 5.1 innings on the mound, striking out five and walking three. Will Faccenda (Council Rock South) was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Max Perilstein (Cheltenham) was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Anthony Pletscher (North Penn) contributed an RBI single. In the Nittany Lions’ 9-5 win in game one, Matt Meyers (Cheltenham) was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and one run, and Max German (Council Rock South) was 2-for-3. In Tuesday’s 8-7 loss to New Jersey City, German was 4-for-6 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored, and Meyers was 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and two runs.
Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored in Gwynedd Mercy’s 5-0 win over Cairn University in Saturday’s doubleheader split. David Blount (Harry S Truman) was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Dave Tatoian (Pennridge) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. In Gwynedd’s 5-2 loss to Cairn, Jason Mulvey was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Blount was 1-for-3 with an RBI. In Friday’s 8-6 win over Cairn, Christopher Hens (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-5 with a double and run scored, and Tatoian was 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored. In Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to Misericordia, Hens had a pair of hits.
Zach Schram (Council Rock North) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Kutztown’s 11-5 loss to Bloomsburg in game two of a doubleheader Sunday. In Monday’s 12-8 loss to Philadelphia University, Schram was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Clow (Central Bucks East) struck out three in two scoreless innings in relief.

Freshman Joe McGlade (Wissahickon) picked up the win in his collegiate debut in Delaware Valley’s 18-0 win over Valley Forge in eight innings on Wednesday, allowing one hit in five innings while striking out four. Junior Wayne Kinsey (Norristown) led Del Val with three hits, which included two triples, four RBIs and one run scored. In Tuesday’s twinbill sweep of Summit University, junior Bobby Altieri (Norristown) was 6-for-9 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Junior Trevor Dalton (Penridge) was the winning pitcher in Del Val’s 6-5 win in game one of the doubleheader, allowing one run on three hits with one strikeout in the final four innings. In last Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Eastern University in game two of a twinbill, Jeremy Hefele (William Tennent) did not allow an earned run over six innings of work. He allowed six hits and fanned three. Altieri was 2-for-3 with a run scored. In Del Val’s 14-9 loss to Eastern in game one of the doubleheader, Altieri was 4-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
Connor Crookham (Hatboro-Horsham) hit a two-run homer in the first inning of No. 12 East Stroudsburg’s 14-1 win over Mansfield in the opener of a twinbill sweep on Saturday. ESU won the nightcap 7-4. Casey Saverio (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-5 with four walks, RBI and three runs scored in the twinbill. In Friday’s 10-1 win over Mansfield in game one of a twinbill sweep, Saverio had two hits, one RBI and a walk.
Joey Nieves-Markee (Bensalem) was 2-for-3 with a double, walk and two runs scored in Cairn University’s 6-3 loss to Neumann University on Saturday.
Andrew Check (Central Bucks West) was 4-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in Eastern University’s 11-9 win over Immaculata on Wednesday.
Sophomore Matt Radwanski (Central Bucks South), making his first collegiate start, worked into the eighth inning of Ursinus College’s 6-3 loss to Washington College on Sunday. He allowed three runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts and didn’t allow a baserunner between the fourth and seventh innings, retiring 14 batters in a row.
Greg McDonough (Wissahickon) was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and three runs scored in Widener’s 10-7 win over Hood in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday.
Tyler Coleman (Quakertown) was 3-for-4 with four RBIs in West Chester’s 12-2 win over Lock Haven in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In Sunday’s 7-1 win over Lock Haven in game two of a twinbill sweep, Coleman had a pinch hit two-run double and scored a run.
Robert Slagle III (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored in Chestnut Hill’s 6-4 win over Felician in game one of a doubleheader split Saturday. Brandon DiBona (William Tennent) was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Patrick Campion (Norristown) had one hit, one RBI and two runs scored. Zachary Crim (Hatboro-Horsham) threw 6.2 innings, allowing seven hits and four runs. He was not involved in the decision. Austin DiBonaventure (Plymouth Whitemarsh) did not allow a hit or run and struck out one in .2 innings in relief. In Friday’s 10-5 win over Concordia in game two of a twinbill split, DiBonaventure was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. In Chestnut Hill’s 14-4 loss in game one, Slagle contributed a triple and single. In Tuesday’s 10-6 win over No. 12 East Stroudsburg, Slagle was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. DiBonaventure threw a scoreless inning in relief, allowing one hit and fanning one.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Chris Fleming (Upper Moreland) scored three goals in Misericoridia’s 10-9 overtime loss to FDU-Florham on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 23-6 win over Wilkes, Fleming had four goals and two assists.
Chris Schneekloth (Central Bucks East) won 14-of-16 face-offs and also had 10 ground balls in No. 16 Cabrini’s 25-5 win over Centenary College on Friday. Austin Edelman (Upper Merion) had two ground balls. Freshman Riley White (Plymouth Whitemarsh) combined with two other goalies to make five saves. The Senior Day win extended Cabrini’s CSAC streak to 100. In Wednesday’s 25-5 win over Rosemont, Edelman had three ground balls. Schneekloth won 11-of-12 face-offs and also had a career-high 10 ground balls, one goal and one assist. White split time in goal with a pair of teammates with the trio combining for one save.
Corey Giampietro (Council Rock South) scooped up six ground balls in Gwynedd Mercy’s 22-3 win at Keystone on Saturday.
Sophomore Anthony Paone (Central Bucks South) scooped up nine ground balls in Widener’s 14-7 win over Albright on Wednesday.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Senior Michele DeVincent (Upper Dublin) led the University of California in caused turnovers this season with 14 while her 19 ground balls were third on a squad that concluded its campaign with a record of 4-12.
Senior Kelly Cross (Upper Dublin) had two goals in No. 4/5 Syracuse’s 13-10 win over No. 8/9 Louisville on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 9-7 win over No. 20/18 Cornell, Cross contributed one goal, 2 ground balls and one draw control.
Senior Brenda McDermott (North Penn) connected for her second hat trick in a row to go along with three assists, leading Temple to a 10-4 Senior Day win over Cincinnati on Saturday. McDermott scored three of the Owls’ first four goals of the game, completing her hat trick with 11:16 remaining in the first half and giving Temple a 4-1 lead. She assisted on the fourth goal in that run. In Wednesday’s 10-7 BIG EAST win at Villanova, McDermott scored three goals and recorded two assists.
Senior Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) scored a team-high five goals in No. 8/9 Louisville’s 13-10 loss to No. 4/5 Syracuse on Saturday afternoon in the team’s regular season finale at the Carrier Dome. Next up for the Cardinals will be the ACC Championships on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Freshman Sarah Gallagher (Upper Dublin) recorded 11 saves in goal in La Salle’s 16-7 loss at Richmond on Sunday. This was her third game of the year with double-digit saves, including her second of the weekend. She finished with a .407 save percentage on the day. In Friday’s 13-11 win at George Washington, Gallagher made 11 saves with a .500 save percentage.
Senior Ally Frymoyer (Upper Merion) tied her season high with 13 saves in Shippensburg’s 11-7 loss to Slippery Rock on Saturday. It is the fourth time in a match this season and the 24th time in her career that she has recorded double-digit saves in a contest. Sophomore Allison Fugate (Pennridge) contributed a goal and an assist.
Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) tied for a game-high 10 points on eight goals and two helpers and also had six draw controls in Keystone College’s 16-14 loss to Rosemont on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 18-17 double overtime win over Centenary College, Hawks finished with a program record 12 points on nine goals and three assists.
Molly Wyman (Abington) scored her second goal of the year in Penn State Abington’s 12-9 loss to Wells on Saturday. In Thursday’s 14-9 loss to Bryn Mawr, Mallory Mugnier (Abington) scored a pair of goals.
Stephanie Hogan (Central Bucks West) contributed one goal and one assist in Eastern University’s 19-9 loss to FDU-Florham on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 16-15 win over Delaware Valley, Hogan scored four goals.
Kathryn Reinhart (Pennridge) was credited with three ground balls in Gwynedd Mercy’s 18-4 defeat at Cabrini on Saturday.
Makayla Bowman (North Penn) scored twice in Kutztown’s 14-6 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday. It was the program’s first win of the modern era over the Huskies.
Junior Lauren Green (North Penn) and sophomore Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) each scored a goal in No. 19 East Stroudsburg’s 15-8 loss to No. 14 IUP on Saturday.
Allison Hawkins (Cheltenham), Julie McKay (Hatboro-Horsham) and Anna Studenmund (Springfield) will be traveling with their University of Pittsburgh club team to Winston-Salem, N.C., to compete for the WCLA National Championships. The Panthers are seeded fourth in the country D1 and will
play 13th-seeded James Madison University on May 4 in the opening round of the tournament.
MEN’S SOCCER
La Salle senior Joe Farrell (Wissahickon) was named the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the Athletic Department’s Student-Athlete Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday. Farrell was a four-time all-region selection and three-time all-Philadelphia Soccer Six all-star. He earned All-Atlantic 10 honors as a junior and tallied 16 career goals and 48 career points. Farrell is third all-time in games played and eighth in assists.
SOFTBALL
University of Connecticut senior Valerie Sadowl (Hatboro-Horsham) was named American Athletic
Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 17. It was her first time earning the honor. Sadowl his .429 in three games against Central Connecticut State and East Carolina. She was 3-for-7 at the dish with a home run, double, six RBIs, two runs and three walks. Entering the week, she had one RBI on the season. In a tie game against East Carolina, Sadowl blasted a three-run homer to right center to give the Huskies an 8-5 lead they would not lose. It was her first home run since her sophomore season in 2014. She also added a double in the game, finishing 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs. A day later, Sadowl chipped in two more RBIs on groundouts, helping UConn to a 15-7 win over East Carolina in six innings. In a pinch-hitting spot, Sadowl delivered a single as part of the Huskies’ 6-0 win over CCSU. The senior infielder, who redshirted her junior season, has bounced back for the Huskies. Sadowl has appeared in 33 games this season, earning 25 starts, the most since she started 48 games in 2014. In her sophomore season, Sadowl led the Huskie with a .331 batting average, six home runs and nine doubles. Her 21 RBIs were second most on the team, and she was twice named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.
Junior Dominique Pinto (Council Rock North) provided the only multi-hit game in UConn’s 7-4 loss to Massachusetts on Tuesday. In last Sunday’s 15-7 win over East Carolina, Sadowl had two RBI groundouts, and Pinto had an RBI double.
Lauren Quense (Neshaminy) picked up wins in both games of Fordham’s doubleheader sweep at Rhode Island on Saturday. In Fordham’s 12-1 win in five innings in game one, Quense allowed three hits and one run in four innings, striking out seven and walking one. In Fordham’s 13-4 win in six innings in game two, Quense allowed one hit and one run in four innings, fanning two and walking none. On Sunday, Quense came back and notched her third win of the weekend, throwing five innings in Fordham’s 12-4 win over URI, allowing six hits and four runs (two earned) while striking out five and walking one. Quense is 15-7 on the season.
Haileigh Stocks (Central Bucks South) homered in Robert Morris University’s 3-1 win over Sacred Heart in
game one of a doubleheader split last Sunday. Stocks went 2-for-5 with the home run and a sacrifice. The blast was her team-leading fifth of the season and the 14th of her career.
La Salle senior Alli Waddington (Central Bucks South) received the De La Salle Community Service Award at the Athletic Department’s Student-Athlete Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday.
Mackenzie Obert (Pennsbury) was 2-for-3 with a double and Christina Bascara (Pennsbury) was 2-for-2 with a run scored in La Salle’s 6-4 loss to George Mason in game one of a twinbill Sunday. Suzanne Swanicke (Pennsbury) was 1-for-2 with an RBI. In a 9-6 loss to George Mason in game two, Obert doubled and scored a run, and Bascara had a double, RBI and run scored. In Saturday’s 2-1 win over George Mason in 12 innings, Obert had a pair of hits, including a solo home run, and Bascara was 3-for-5. In Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Drexel, Obert had an RBI single.
Senior Morgan Decker (Central Bucks South) hit a two-run single in Lehigh University’s 4-1 win over UMBC in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Princeton in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Decker was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk. The double was her 16th of the season, setting a new career high.
Lauren Klepchick (Central Bucks South) doubled and singled in Rhode Island’s 12-4 loss to Fordham in Atlantic 10 action Sunday. The double was the 20th of Klepchick’s career, making her the 19th player in program history to hit at least 20 doubles.
Junior Rae Holden (Abington) hit her sixth home run of the season in East Stroudsburg’s 4-3 loss to Shippensburg in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 2-1 win in the nightcap of a twinbill split with Bloomsburg, Holden hit a walk-off home run, ending the Huskies’ 22-game winning streak. In Tuesday’s 13-5 win in the nightcap of a doubleheader sweep of Philadelphia University, senior Danielle Dungee (North Penn) was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, three RBIs and two runs.

In Kutztown’s 12-0 win over Nyack College in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Tuesday, Keeney went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored.

Maria Spinosa (Hatboro-Horsham) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. In Millersville’s 3-1 win in game two, Hallock was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Spinosa doubled while Lutz and Jaynie Black (Hatboro-Horsham) both added one hit. In Wednesday’s 6-0 win over the University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader split, Hallock was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Black was 2-for-3 with a run scored. In Monday’s 5-1 win in game one of a twinbill split, Hallock was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Lutz singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Sophomore Rachel Hyman (Upper Dublin) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in Ursinus College’s 7-1 win over Rutgers-Camden in game one of a twinbill on Sunday. In Thursday’s doubleheader sweep of Elizabethtown, Hyman drove in five runs and was 3-for-4 with a career high three RBIs in the Bears’ 6-5 win over Elizabethtown in game one. In the Bears’ 9-7 win in game two, freshman Rachel Matricardi (Upper Dublin) notched her first collegiate hit and played well behind the plate.
MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro-Horsham) knocked in three runs, scored three times and added a pair of triples in a 3-for-3 effort in Gwynedd Mercy’s 14-3 win over Summit in game two of a doubleheader sweep Friday. Nikki Canfield (Souderton) also drove in three runs. Becki Christoffers (North Penn) scored twice and walked in Gwynedd’s 2-0 win over Summit in game one. In Tuesday’s 20-1 win over Cairn in game one of a twinbill sweep, Ballerino was 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBIs and two runs. Christoffers went 3-for-3 with four runs scored, two RBIs, two walks and a stolen base. Kim Machalette (Springfield) knocked in four runs.In the Griffins’ 29-3 win over Cairn in game two, Christoffers drove in seven runs, including a three-run home run in the third. Machalette knocked in a pair of runs.
MEN’S TENNIS
Mohammed Ammouni (Bensalem) earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at first singles, and Justin McNab (Cheltenham) was a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 winner at third singles in Penn State Abington’s 6-3 win over Penn State Berks. McNab also was part of the second double team’s 8-3 win. With the win, the Nittany Lions earned their second straight NEAC regular season title.
Gwynedd Mercy senior Peter Brzezinski (Hatboro-Horsham) earned the final CSAC Men’s Tennis Player of
the Year Award for the week ending April 17. Brzezinski had an 8-0 week at both number one singles and doubles. He won his singles matches in straight set victories over Immaculata (6-1, 6-0), Keystone (6-0, 6-0), Neumann (6-0, 6-1) and Summit (6-0, 6-3) to help the Griffins clinch the number one playoff seed at the CSAC Team Tournament. He and teammate Joshua Carson swept all four doubles.
Brzezinski was part of the first doubles team that earned an 8-1 win in Gwynedd Mercy’s 5-0 win over Neumann in a CSAC semifinal matchup on Friday. Gwynedd went on to defeat Marywood 5-1 on Saturday to capture the conference championship for the second year in a row.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Honora Hegarty (Abington) earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at first singles and was part of the first doubles team’s 8-6 win in Penn State Abington’s 6-3 win over Penn State Berks on Saturday. Amanda Shulski (Neshaminy) was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at second doubles and part of the second doubles team’s 9-7 win. With the win, the Nittany Lions clinched the NEAC regular season title.
Anne Marie Devlin (Wissahickon) earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at fifth singles and teamed with her sister, Maureen Devlin, to earn a 6-0 win at second doubles in St. Joseph’s 7-0 win over Rider last Sunday. In St. Joe’s 5-2 win over Chestnut Hill, Devlin notched a 6-3, 6-1 win at sixth singles and was part of the third doubles team’s 6-0 win.

Ursinus sophomore Jequan Mitchell (Upper Merion) shaved four-hundredths of a second off his top season mark in the 100m dash at the Ursinus College Invitational on Saturday, clocking in at 11.29 (third in the Centennial Conference) in the prelims before placing third with an 11.49 in the final heat.
University of Pittsburgh junior Chris Spadaro (Council Rock South) ran a season-best time of 41.24 and placed seventh overall at the Virginia Challenge on Friday.
Shippensburg junior Jalen Ramsey (Norristown) tied the prestigious school record in the high jump on Wednesday with a NCAA automatic qualifier at the 2016 SU Invitational. Ramsey picked up where he left off at Bucknell, a meet a which he cleared six feet, 11 inches for a likely national championships qualification. On Wednesday, Ramsey cleared seven feet, 1 ¾ inches to become just the third NCAA Division II jumper this season to clear seven feet. The performance matches the school record of Leander Toney from the 2007 season.
West Chester junior Shawn Young (Central Bucks West) was fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 1:03.3 at the SU Invitational Wednesday. Bryan Reice (Neshaminy) placed fifth in the 100m (11.24).
Widener junior Alex Cucciarre (Souderton) was seventh in the javelin with a throw of 50.44 at the Widener Invitational on Saturday.
La Salle junior Chris Sanders (Upper Merion) set a school record and turned in a time good enough to rank him 17th in the nation in the 800m at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday. Sanders ran a time of 1:47.43, which broke the Marc Cianfrani school record that had been set in 1998 by a second. He finished third in the 77-man field and was the second college finisher in the race. Sophomore Chris Berry (Central Bucks West) was the top finisher in his heat and crossed in 14th place out of 88 entries in the 5000m race. He had a time of 14:35.96 to top the heat by nearly four seconds.
Sophomore Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) was Kutztown’s lone event winner as he won the pole vault with an existing PSAC mark of 15-0 at the All-American Meet on Saturday at East Stroudsburg. He has finished first or second in all three of his outdoor meets this season, including posting an NCAA provisional mark at 15-7.25 at the Golden Ram Invitational. Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield) finished seventh in the 400m dash with a new PSAC time of 50.14 seconds. Senior Chris Varichione (Quakertown) finished fourth in the hammer throw with an existing PSAC mark of 159-10. Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) was eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.75.
Bloomsburg sophomore Alex Moran (Pennridge) was second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.74 at the Second Annual Mountaineer Invitational hosted by Mansfield University on Saturday. James Wilson (Central Bucks South) was third at 800m in a season-best time of 1:58.53.
East Stroudsburg junior Sean Hagerty (Pennridge) improved his PSAC long jump mark to 22-8 after entering the week second (22-4 ¼) on the conference list at the All-American Meet on Saturday.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Messiah junior Natalie Ross (Souderton) set a personal best in the 800-meter run (2:30.71) and finished in fourth place at the Ursinus College Invitational on Saturday. Earlier in the day, Ross placed second and set a season best in the 3,000m steeple chase with her time of 11:53.60.
West Chester sophomore Emily Magnant (Hatboro-Horsham) recorded a pair of runner-up performances in the 100m and the 200m dashes at the second annual SU Invitational on Wednesday. She posted a time of 12.74 in the 100 and 25.99 seconds in the 200. Christine Johnson (North Penn) placed fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 146-9.
Bloomsburg junior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) won the 5k race with a time of 18:26.52 at the Second Annual Mountaineer Invitational hosted by Mansfield University on Saturday night. Keelan McDonald (Central Bucks West) had a season-best time of 18:28.81 at 5000m, which has now qualified her for the PSAC championships.
Shippensburg freshman Allison King (North Penn) notched a season best time of 12.46 in the 100m to capture first place at the 2016 SU Invitational on Wednesday. Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) finished first in the 200m dash with a time of 25.56, and Carolyn Meier (Upper Dublin) finished fourth in the 1500m run with a time of 5:03.37. Sheehan and King were part of the first place 4×100 relay (47.86) and 4×400 relay (4:00.19). Meier was part of the third place 4×400 relay team (4:12.69).
Ursinus sophomore Jenna Kelly (Upper Merion) finished second in the 400m hurdles at the Ursinus Invitational, clocking a season best by nearly a full second (1:09.47) and jumping to ninth in the conference performance list. Senior Sasha Cusick (Upper Dublin) was fifth in the 200 (28.39). Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) was part of the 4×100 relay team that claimed first place with a 50.91, less than two-tenths of a second out of second on the conference charts.
Kaitlyn Lutz (Upper Merion) and Zakiyyah Richardson (Pennsbury) were part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4×400 relay team that finished 12th with a time of 4:17.05 at Saturday’s Widener Invitational.
Moravian junior Sarah Hughes (Souderton) captured the 5,000m run with an ECAC qualifying time of 18:06.89 at the non-scoring East Stroudsburg All-American Meet Saturday. Sophomore Beth Ann Davies (Quakertown) was eighth in the pole vault at 3.10 meters (10-2), and sophomore Casie Cronk (Quakertown) was tied for ninth in the high jump at 1.48 meters (4-10.25).
Leiana Dean (North Penn) was part of East Stroudsburg’s winning 4×100 relay team that posted a time of 48.58 at Saturday’s All-American Meet. She finished eighth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.81. Kelley Anne Stuetz (Cheltenham) was third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.33. Victoria Matthews (Abington) was tied for fifth in the high jump (5-0 ¼) while Victoria Collins (Abington) was eighth (5-0 ¼). Dean and Matthews were part of the second place 4×400 relay (3:58.98).
Kutztown freshman Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) finished fourth in the 800m run with a new PSAC and season-best mark of 2:19.99 at the All-American Meet on Saturday at East Stroudsburg. Taylor Thames (North Penn) was part of the 4×100 relay team that finished second with a time of 49.59 and the 4×400 relay that finished fourth. Bridget Perdoch (Pennsbury) finished eighth in the shot put with a season-best mark of 10.97m.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Daniel Ford (Council Rock North) finished with a match-high 44 assists and tallied 10 digs in Saint Francis University’s 3-1 loss to George Mason in the EIVA Championship on Saturday night at Rec Hall in University Park. The loss concludes the season for the Flash, who finished with a 19-10 record, the second most in program history. In Thursday’s 3-1 win over top-seeded Penn State on the Nittany Lions’ home court, Ford dished out 47 assists.
Junior Michael Fehrs (Central Bucks West) had a pair of service aces in Stevenson’s 3-1 win over third-seeded Carthage in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Friday night.
