Keeny & Lee Names Kutztown’s 2019 Senior Athletes of the Year
Kutztown University softball's Sara Keeny (William Tennent) and men's basketball player Anthony Lee 
(Abington) were honored as the 2019 Senior Athletes of the Year on Wednesday night at KU's annual All-Sports Celebration, held at Schaeffer Auditorium. Keeny is the first member of KU softball to garner the award since 2009 and is the fifth player in program history to do so in the 27-year history of the award. Lee is the sixth player in program history to receive the honor. Keeny is a three-time All-Region and All-PSAC selection and is batting a school-record .512 this season. She leads the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference 
(PSAC) in several offensive categories, including average (.512), runs scored (54), hits (85) and triples (7). Keeny was the 2016 KU and PSAC Freshman of the Year. She has 274 career hits, a school-record. She won a Chambliss Copper Medal this spring. Lee holds almost double-digit program records, nine total. He is a two-time All-Region and four-time All-PSAC player. The Abington native earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in his senior season. He scored 2,292 career points for fourth in PSAC history. He holds nine school records including the programs first and only 50-point game. Lee was voted this year's PSAC Athlete of the Year and won a Chambliss Silver Medal this spring.
BASEBALL
Penn State Abington sophomore Ryan McCarty (Pennsbury) was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 14. Against Wells College, McCarty surrendered just three hits and struck out eight batters in six innings of work.
McCarty was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk in Penn State Abington’s 9-8 win over Penn State Berks on Saturday. Brett Guaglionona (Abington) contributed an RBI. In Wednesday’s 10-3 win over Penn College in game two of a twinbill split, McCarty hit a three-run home run.
Stephen Aldrich (Bensalem) picked up his first career win in his first collegiate start as Monmouth earned a 3-1 win over NJIT on Wednesday. Aldrich battled through third-inning trouble and only allowed two hits through five as MU jumped in front in the fifth. He struck out four in 5.1 shutout innings. In Monmouth’s 7-4 win over Fairfield after dropping game one of the twinbill, Danny Long (Pennridge) posted his sixth multi-hit game of the season.
Kadar Namey (North Penn) led off the fourth with a double and came around to score in Saint Joseph’s 13-7 win over Rider on Tuesday.
Sophomore Jerry Scavone (Neshaminy) and senior Carter Usowski (Central Bucks East) both had three hits and three runs in Ursinus College’s 17-16 loss to McDaniel last Saturday. In the Bears 22-9 win over Muhlenberg, Usowski doubled twice, and junior Eric Gross (Central Bucks South) had a three-hit, three-RBI game. In the Bears’ 6-4 win over Muhlenberg, Scavone contributed an RBI double, Usowski doubled, and Gross had an RBI single.
SeniorTimothy Brodhag (William Tennent) was 3-for-6 with a double, RBI and run scored in Jefferson University’s 16-4 win in nine innings over Post in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In the Rams’ 9-6 win in game two, Brodhag was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. In Jefferson’s 1-0 win in eight innings over Caldwell in game two of a twinbill split, sophomore Matt Bukavich (Quakertown) threw two scoreless innings, allowing one hit while walking two and striking out four.
Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, and his brother, Jason Mulvey, added three hits, including a home run, three RBIs and four runs in Gwynedd Mercy’s 15-6 win over Neumann in game one of a twinbill split on Sunday. TJ Brasier (Harry S Truman) had a two-run double, and David Tatoian (Pennridge) doubled and drove in a run. In the Griffins 15-14 victory over Albright, Nick Mulvey had three hits and knocked in three runs. In Monday’s 3-2 win over Marymount in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Jason Mulvey doubled and drove in a run. In the Griffins’ 12-0 win in game two, Jason Mulvey doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Nick Mulvey was 3-for-4 with a home run, RBI and three runs.Sophomore Colin Kennedy (Hatboro-Horsham) allowed just one earned run on four hits over five innings with a pair of strikeouts in La Salle’s 6-5 loss to Saint Joseph’s. He was not involved in the decision.
Jared Melone (North Penn) had two hits, three RBIs and two runs in West Chester’s 9-3 win over Kutztown on Sunday in game one of a twinbill sweep. In the Rams’ 11-3 win in game two, Melone and Justin Horn (Upper Dublin) both logged two hits and three RBIs. In last Saturday’s 2-1 win over No. 15 Millersville in game two of a doubleheader split, Jon Fisher (Plymouth Whitemarsh) improved to 4-3 on the year after going seven innings and allowing just one run on five hits against eight strikeouts. Horn had a pair of hits while Melone added one hit, two RBIs and one run. In the Rams’ 16-14 come-from-behind win over Chestnut Hill, Melone hit a two-run home run in the first. He finished the game 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
Sophomore Billy Bethel (Pennsbury) allowed three hits in the first complete game shutout of his collegiate career in Chestnut Hill’s 6-0 win over Goldey-Beacom College in game one of a twinbill sweep on Tuesday. He struck out three to pick up his fifth win in his last five appearances and seventh victory overall (7-3). Andrew Dietz (Central Bucks South) doubled and drove in a run. In Chestnut Hill’s 6-1 win over Bloomfield in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Bethel earned the win, allowing just three hits and one run with two walks and striking out 11 in seven innings. In Chestnut Hill’s 3-2 win in game two, Dietz was 2-for-3.
Matt Reinert (Souderton) had a pair of hits and an RBI in Wilkes University’s 7-5 loss to FDU-Florham in game one of a twinbill split Saturday.
Matt Bein (Abington) was 3-for-6 with a run and Mike Christy (North Penn) was 2-for-4 with an RBI in Elizabethtown’s 12-3 win over Scranton in game two of a doubleheader split Saturday. In Wednesday’s 13-4 loss to Alvernia, Bein was 2-for-4. In the Blue Jays’ 18-8 loss in eight innings to Immaculata, Christy was 2-for-4.
Junior Shaun Stackhouse (Council Rock South) drew three walks and scored three runs in Cabrini’s 29-11 victory over Delaware Valley University on Wednesday. In Cabrini’s 14-3 victory over Lebanon Valley, Stackhouse was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.
Lew Meringo (Central Bucks East) had a pair of hits, including a double, two RBIs and a run scored in Albright’s 15-14 loss to Gwynedd Mercy on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 9-7 loss to Susquehanna, Meringo was 2-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored. Phil Staehle (Souderton) tossed a scoreless inning in relief, striking out a pair.
Senior Brendan Giampa (Souderton) allowed just two hits in two scoreless innings of relief in Delaware Valley’s 22-4 loss to Misericorida on Thursday.
Former Delaware Valley University baseball standout Kyle Wenger (Souderton) has officially signed with the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League for the 2019 season. A 2017 graduate, and four-year starter in center field, Wenger finished his career with the Aggies as one of the most decorated players in program history and graduated with a degree in Media and Communications. He became the all-time batting leader with a career batting average of .448 (185 hits in 413 at-bats) and his 16 career triples is the most in program history. He ranks third all-time with 63 stolen bases, fourth all-time in hits (185), doubles (37), and runs scored (127), and his 101 RBIs ranks eighth while his 13 career home runs is tied for the seventh most by any Aggie. In 2014, his freshman year, Wenger finished with the third best batting average in Division III (.479) and fourth best on-base percentage (.551) en route to being named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Rookie of the Year, ECAC South First Team All-Star, ABCA First Team All-Region, and D3Baseball.com First Team All-Region. The next season he garnered his second All-MAC Freedom First Team honors and was named the league's Player of the Year. Prior to the 2016 campaign, D3baseball.com named Wenger a Preseason All-American, and he finished his career with three all-region nods and three first team all-MAC honors. A leader on and off the field, he served as team captain his junior and senior years. Wenger becomes the first DelVal baseball player to play professionally since Bob Polinsky, a 1973 graduate and member of the DelVal Athletics Hall of Fame, class of 1986.
Nick Ponente (Council Rock South) was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and one run scored in Arcadia’s 15-4 win over Lebanon Valley on Thursday. In Arcadia’s 11-6 win at Susquehanna, Ponente had two hits and three RBIs. In Arcadia’s 8-1 win over Montclair State, Ponente was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.
Junior Cole Swiger (Upper Dublin) hit a towering two-run home run – his seventh round tripper of the season – in Bloomsburg’s 9-0 win over Mansfield in game one of a doubleheader sweep. He finished the game 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Freshman Justin Guidos (Quakertown) tossed an inning of relief in East Stroudsburg’s 9-0 win over Kutztown in game one of a twinbill sweep last Saturday.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Kutztown senior Anthony Lee (Abington) was named the MVP of this year’s team. Lee was the PSAC Athlete of the year and set a school record with 50 points in a game. He earned All-Atlantic Region and All-PSAC first team honors as a two-year captain.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Kutztown senior Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) was named the team MVP for the third straight year. Bresadola was an All-PSAC and All-Region runner for the third straight year this season. She is a Scholar-Athlete and closed her career finishing 10th at Regionals.
FOOTBALL
Kutztown Redshirt senior Craig Reynolds (Abington) was named the MVP of the football team. The Abington graduate was named All-PSAC first team and All-American honorable mention as a running back. He broke the school record with 34 career rushing touchdowns and was a two-year team captain.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Princeton junior Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) has been named one of 25 nominees for the Tewaaraton Trophy given each year to the best player in college lacrosse. Sowers is currently second in the country in assists per game and fourth in the country in points per game. He leads the Ivy League in both.
Sowers scored seven goals and added an assist in Princeton’s 14-13 loss to Cornell on Saturday. The UD graduate now holds the Princeton record for career points and also broke his own school record for points in a season. With his second goal, he became the first Princeton player and sixth Ivy League player to have at least 100 career goals and 100 career assists. His seven goals were a career high. His eight points gave him 90 for the year, best ever at Princeton, breaking the record of 83 he set a year ago. Sowers’ first goal gave him 248 career points, one better than Kevin Lowe scored before graduating in 1994. Sowers now has 255 career points with 105 goals and 150 career assists. In Princeton’s 19-15 win over Harvard last Saturday, Sowers had three goals and seven assists.
Sophomore midfielder Nick Vernacchio (Upper Dublin) contributed a goal and was also credited with two ground balls in Saint Joseph’s 7-6 season-ending loss to Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday.
Sean Fechter (Pennridge) contributed a goal and two assists, and goalie Brett McDonald (Council Rock North) recorded nine saves in Eastern University’s 10-7 win over DeSales on Saturday. McDonald also was credited with three ground balls. Kyle Fanelli (Pennridge) added a single goal for the Eagles. In Wednesday’s 13-3 win over Delaware Valley, McDonald recorded 10 saves. In Eastern’s 13-8 win at FDU-Florham, McDonald made a huge play in man-down defense, jumping out of goal and picking off a pass. He finished with 13 saves.
Junior Evan Scott (Upper Dublin) scored a pair of goals in No. 13 Ursinus College’s 20-11 win over Muhlenberg on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 12-9 loss to Haverford, Scott had a goal and was credited with four ground balls.
Senior defenseman Matthew Anderson (Pennsbury) was credited with eight ground balls in Chestnut Hill’s 16-13 win at Georgian Court on Wednesday.
Senior Riley White (Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned the victory in goal while freshman Chris Brady (Quakertown) tallied four saves in Cabrini’s 23-4 win at Immaculata on Wednesday. In Cabrini’s 17-11 win over Stevenson University, White improved to 14-2 on the season after recording six saves, three ground balls and a caused turnover. Nick Werner (Central Bucks West) had four ground balls. In Cabrini’s 21-6 victory over Marymount, White, who had two caused turnovers, claimed his 13th victory after posting seven saves.
Jakob Phaup (Souderton) won 9 of 19 face-offs and was credited with three grounds balls in Syracuse University’s 11-10 loss to the University of North Carolina in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
Leo Kelly (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed five goals, five assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in Wesley’s 21-8 win over Southern Virginia last Saturday. In Wesley’s 13-5 loss to Neumann, Kelly tallied a hat trick and also added three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
After turning in a record-breaking senior campaign, Saint Joseph's leading scorer Francesca Donato 
(Neshaminy) was selected the 2019 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year. Donato turned in one of the most successful offensive seasons in Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse history this spring, leading the team in total points (78), goals (40), and assists (38) through 17 regular-season games (all starts); her points and assists totals were single-season program records. The senior attacker led the A-10 in total points and assists as well as points per game (4.59) and assists per game (2.24) as she scored in all but one contest and totaled 12 multi-goal games, including six games with three or more goals, and 14 games with three or more points. A two-time A-10 Player of the Week, Donato went for 45 points (24g, 21a) through nine conference games, which included nine-point efforts against Duquesne (4g, 5a) and Davidson (6g, 3a), a seven-point effort (2g, 5a) against VCU, and a six-point effort (4g, 2a) against George Washington. Notably, outside of A-10 competition, Donato combined for 13 points in back-to-back wins over Temple (4g, 3a) and Villanova (3g, 3a) and added a hat trick at then-#17 Johns Hopkins and four helpers at then-#13 Navy. The honor marks the first A-10 postseason honor for Donato, who becomes just the second Hawk in program history to earn the league's Offensive Player of the Year award, joining Bernadette Smith (2001).
Saint Joseph’s freshman midfielder Sophia Kolkka (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named to the Atlantic-10 All-Rookie Team. The PW graduate made her presence known on both ends of the field. Appearing in all 17 games off the bench, she led all SJU rookies in ground balls (22) and caused turnovers (21) and added 16 points (13 goals, 3 assists) in the regular season. Kolkka notched a career-high four points (2 goals, 2 assists) alongside a career-high three caused turnovers against VCU and put away a hat trick at George Mason.
Donato scored two goals and freshman defender Lindsey Smith (Springfield Township) earned six draw controls in Saint Joseph’s 20-11 loss to the University of Massachusetts in the Atlantic-10 semifinals on Friday. Donato – who posted 11 points (7 goals, 4 assists) in two games – was voted onto the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team. The Neshaminy graduate is part of a senior group that leaves SJU as the winningest class in program history with 43 victories. They are the first class to reach four consecutive conference postseason tournaments. In Thursday’s 18-15 win over VCU in a quarterfinal contest, Donato scored five goals on just six shots. She also had four assists. She moved into third place in career assists (69), sixth in career points (166) and ninth in career goals (99) while extending her single-season records in points to 87 and assists to 42. In last Friday’s 21-11 loss to Richmond, Donato scored her 39th goal of the year to break the program record for single-season points (77).
Senior Melissa Felicetti (Upper Moreland) netted two goals while freshman Cheyanne Grumm (Upper Moreland) recorded time 10 saves in Penn State Abington's 19-4 loss to D’Youville College on Friday. Grumm is now second all time with 173 saves this season. In last Saturday’s 23-13 loss to Cazenovia College, Felicetti led the way with five goals while Christina Kane (Upper Moreland) recorded her first two career goals. In the Nittany Lions’ 21-7 loss to Wells College, Felicetti led the way with four goals.
Sophomore Jen Rodzewich (Pennridge) contributed a hat trick in Temple’s 11-6 win at Vanderbilt on Saturday. In Temple’s 18-5 win over East Carolina, senior Amber Lambeth (Souderton) contributed a goal and an assist. Courtney Taylor (Central Bucks South) recorded two caused turnovers. In Temple’s 13-8 loss to Villanova, Lambeth and Taylor each had three caused turnovers. Lambeth also scored a goal.
Senior JoAnne Mamie (Neshaminy) had five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in Holy Family’s 17-7 win over Felician.
Sophomore Hannah Reape (Upper Dublin) paired a goal with an assist and was dominant in the circle, racking up a career-high 10 draw controls in Ursinus College’s 18-5 win over Bryn Mawr.
Makayla Bowman (North Penn) had a pair of goals in Kutztown’s 18-7 win over Shepherd on Tuesday.
Senior Kyra Shank (Souderton) scored twice in Shippensburg’s 17-9 win over Lock Haven on Wednesday.
Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Victoria Braeunle (North Penn) was named to the Atlantic East Women’s
Lacrosse Honor Roll for the week ending April 14. The sophomore led the Griffins with 16 draw controls in games against Neumann and Immaculata. She added 12 points on eight goals and four assists. She also added four ground balls.
Braeunle scored three goals in Gwynedd Mercy’s 22-11 loss to Marymount in a first round game of the 2019 Atlantic East Women’s Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 25-21 victory over Wesley, Braeunle set a single-game record with 16 draw controls – nine in the second half. She also added three assists, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Sophomore Maddie Dachowski (Pennridge) capped her breakout season in front of goal, netting a hat trick and dishing out an assist in La Salle’s 19-11 loss to Duquesne in the final game of the season. Junior Mikki Raymond (Abington) had a goal and an assist.
Senior Rita Lynn Trainer (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed a goal and two assists as well as three ground balls in Chestnut Hill’s 18-15 loss to Caldwell on Thursday.
Kate Ziegler (Pennridge) had two goals, one draw control and four ground balls in Elizabethtown’s 10-8 win over Susquehanna on Saturday. In the Blue Jays’ 19-8 loss to Scranton, Ziegler scored a game-high five goals and reached the 50-goal mark in Elizabethtown’s 19-8 loss to Scranton. She also had five draw controls.
Shannon Petrillo (Bensalem) scored her first collegiate goal in Delaware Valley University’s 25-24 loss to Eastern University on Wednesday. Aimee MacFarland (Souderton) scooped up four ground balls.
Krysta Reading (Central Bucks East) had a pair of goals in Lock Haven’s 15-14 win over Edinboro on Saturday.
Devon Mela (Council Rock North) had two goals and one draw control in No. 7 West Chester’s 18-9 win over No. 25 IUP on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 19-4 win over Lock Haven, senior Maggie Stella (Central Bucks East) scored five goals and added three assists. She also had six draw controls. Stella had a hat trick 13 minutes into the game, fueling a seven-goal run. In West Chester’s 17-6 win over Bloomsburg, Stella scored four goals and finished with five points while also securing seven draw controls. Mela netted a pair of goals.
MaryCait Dorley (Cheltenham) tied a career high with three goals and an assist in Millersville’s 16-6 win over Kutztown.
Junior Michelle Dyck (North Penn) secured her first victory of the season in goal in No. 11 East Stroudsburg’s 17-5 win over Shippensburg. She made four saves in the opening half.
SOFTBALL
Arcadia softball’s Jackie Bilotti (North Penn) has been honored as the 2019 Spring MAC Softball Senior Scholar-Athlete. Bilotti becomes Arcadia's fourth-ever Senior Scholar Athlete and first-ever women's recipient. The North Penn graduate is one of most decorated players in Arcadia athletics history. She is a three-time NFCA All-Region selection, as well as a two-time MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year. Bilotti has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team twice in her career, in addition to being an NFCA All-America Scholar. Bilotti was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year in each of the last two years. In 2016, the shortstop was named the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, the ECAC Rookie of the Year and the Arcadia Female Rookie of the Year. Last year, she was recognized as the Arcadia Female Athlete of the Year. Bilotti is currently hitting .451 and lead the Knights with 33 runs, six doubles and 19 stolen bases. She has also left her on mark in the records book as she will leave Arcadia as the all-time leader in steals and the career leader in hits. As a sophomore, she set the single-season record of 68 hits. Bilotti will receive her degree in Early Childhood/Special Education in May. She will remain at the University to complete her graduate studies. She currently holds a 3.90 GPA and will become a three-time Spring MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient. Bilotti was named to the 2017 and 2018 Softball Academic All-MAC Team.
Bilotti became the all-time hits leader in Arcadia softball history on Saturday in the Knights’ doubleheader split at Lebanon Valley. Already the all-time leader in stolen bases, Bilotti’s first-inning single in game one gave her 223 hits in her career and moved her into the top spot all-time. She finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in Arcadia’s 4-3 loss in game one. With two more hits in the nightcap, Bilotti now has 226 hits in her career. In Arcadia’s 9-4 win over Drew in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Bilotti had three hits and two runs scored. In Arcadia’s 6-0 win over Hood in game one of a twinbill sweep, Bilotti was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. In Arcadia’s 9-0 win in game two, Bilotti had two hits. In Arcadia’s 3-0 win over Widener in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Bilotti had three hits, including a double.
Georgian Court senior Jessica O’Neil (Harry S Truman) boasts a 16-1 record and a 1.71 ERA. The Truman grad enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2018, earning a place on the All-CACC second team. Her 123 career appearances in the royal and gold ranks second all-time in the Georgian Court record books. Also a strong student, O’Neil will graduate later this spring with a degree in medical imaging. O’Neil is one of six seniors on a squad that won just seven games in 2016. The seniors will be leaving a program that is ranked No. 21 nationally and has broken the program record with 42 wins.

In Georgian Court’s 2-0 win over Caldwell in game one of a twinbill split, O’Neil notched her third complete game shutout of the season, allowing five hits while striking out six.
Becca Dougherty (Council Rock South) was 3-for-4 with a three-run home run to give her team a 3-1 lead in Penn State Abington’s 7-6 loss to Penn State Berks on Saturday. Stephanie Andreoli (Council Rock South) was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored, and Mary Kate Smith (Springfield Township) was 2-for-4 with a run. In Wednesday’s doubleheader sweep of the College of Saint Elizabeth, Dougherty broke the Penn State Abington single season strikeout record with 110 strikeouts and counting. She also carries the title of the all-time leader in career strikeouts in Penn State Abington history, which she set earlier this season. Dougherty earned the complete game wins in both the 5-0 and 2-0 Nittany Lion wins. In the 2-0 win, Andreoli was 2-for-4, and in the 5-0 win, Andreoli tripled and drove in three runs while Jackie McMenamin (Upper Dublin) was 2-for-3 with two runs.
Senior Casey Boltersdorf (Pennsbury) was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in Holy Family’s 10-9 win over Bloomfield in game two of a twinbill split Saturday. Freshman Madelyn Yeager (Hatboro-Horsham) drove in a run in Holy Family’s 11-3 loss to Bloomfield in game one. In Wednesday’s 5-4 loss to the University of the Sciences, Boltersdorf had a pair of RBIs. In Holy Family’s 5-1 win over Jefferson University in game one of a doubleheader split, Boltersdorf entered in relief to pick up the three-inning save. Junior Jennifer Hammons (Springfield Township) earned the complete game win in Ursinus College’s 7-3 win over Washington Collage last Saturday. She allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits.
Erin Maher (North Penn) was 3-for-3 with a double and triple in Jefferson University’s 4-2 win in eight innings over Post in game one of a doubleheader split Saturday. In the Rams’ 6-4 loss in game two, Maher was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.
Junior Meghan Klee (Quakertown) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in Shippensburg’s 11-5 win over Millersville in game one of a twinbill sweep Saturday. In the Raiders’ doubleheader sweep of Kutztown (4-3, 4-1), Klee reached base four times, finishing the day 1-for-3 with three walks and two runs scored.
Rebecca Christoffers (North Penn) had a pair of hits in Gwynedd Mercy’s 11-1 loss to Marywood in the 2019 Atlantic East Softball Tournament on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 19-9 loss to Marywood, Chelsea Briggs (Bensalem) had a pair of hits. In Gwynedd Mercy’s 1-0 win over Wesley, Christoffers doubled in the game’s only run in the seventh inning.
Freshman Audrey Labouliere (Central Bucks East) had two hits and two RBIs in La Salle’s 9-5 win over Rhode Island in game one of a twinbill sweep on Saturday. In the Explorers’ 6-3 win over URI in game two, freshman Natalie Rios (Neshaminy) was 3-for-4 In La Salle’s 1-0 win over George Mason in game one of a doubleheader split, LaBouliere led the Explorers with a pair of hits in three trips to the plate.
Jamie Gosselin (Abington) had a four-hit day, scored four runs and drove in two in Widener’s doubleheader split with Messiah. Sydney Powell (Neshaminy) earned her eighth win of the year in Widener’s 7-5 win in game two.
Moravian, sophomore Meghan Bauer (Pennridge) was named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of 
the Week for the week ending April 21. Bauer, who received her second Landmark Conference honor of the season, earned a win and a save in a 3-1 week for Moravian. Bauer had a 0.00 ERA with a shutout, six strikeouts and just six hits and two walks in 9.1 innings. Bauer tossed all seven innings with three strikeouts in a 12-0 shutout of Eastern University. She then came in and tossed the final 2.1 innings with three strikeouts to earn a save in a 5-4 win at Ursinus College.
Freshman pitcher Alex Scheeler (Souderton) was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, a double and two runs scored in No. 12 Moravian College’s 12-1 win over Juniata in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. She also earned the win in the circle to improve to 12-2 on the season, allowing an unearned run on five hits while striking out four. Maddie Bieber (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. In Moravian’s 5-2 win in game two, Bauer came in to record her third save of the season with four strikeouts in five batters faced. In Moravian’s 2-0 loss to Ursinus in game one of a twinbill split, Bieber was 2-for-3. In Moravian’s 5-4 win in the nightcap, Bauer earned her second save of the season, allowing two hits while walking one and striking out three in 2.1 innings of relief. In Moravian’s 12-0 win over Eastern in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Bieber was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Bauer recorded her second shutout of the season, scattering four hits while walking one and striking out three. In Moravian’s 9-1 win in five innings in game two, Bieber was 2-for-2 and Scheeler was 2-for-3 with a double.
Sara Keeny (William Tennent) posted four hits, two RBIs and three runs scored in Kutztown’s doubleheader split with East Stroudsburg on Saturday. In KU’s 13-7 win in game one, Cheyenne Jones (Harry S Truman) and Keeny each recorded two hits. In KU’s 2-1 victory over No. 20 Shepherd in game two of a doubleheader split, Keeny ripped a triple to right center field that scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning. Jones singled earlier in the inning. Keeny’s hit not only propelled KU to the important win but also broke the school record in hits. In Kutztown’s 8-2 win over Millersville in game one of a twinbill sweep Monday, freshman Amber Brugger (Neshaminy) notched the complete game win.
Brianna Battavio (North Penn) broke a scoreless tie in the top of the second with a two-run home run in Millersville’s 6-4 loss to West Chester in game two of a twinbill sweep at the hands of the Golden Rams on Sunday. In Saturday’s 11-5 loss to Shippensburg, Battavio hit a solo home run in the third inning.
MEN’S TENNIS
Nathan Fioravante (Neshaminy) was part of the first doubles team that earned a 6-2 win in Saint Joseph’s 6-1 win over La Salle.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Marta Tymchennko (Bensalem) earned a 6-2, 7-6 win at third singles and was part of the first doubles team’s 8-3 win in Penn State Abington’s 5-3 win over Lancaster Bible on Saturday. Stephanie Jin (Wissahickon) was part of the second doubles team that earned an 8-6 win. The victory clinched the program’s first ever North Eastern Athletic Conference championship, and for the first time in program history, Abington will advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament. In last Friday’s 8-1 win over Penn State Berks, Jin and Tymchenko were winners in singles play.
Alyssa Skulsky (Council Rock South) was part of the first flight doubles team that earned a hard-fought 7-6 victory in West Chester’s 7-0 win over Millersville, a win that earned the Golden Rams their fourth PSAC Eastern Division title in the last five years.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Holy Family University freshman Sean Rahill (William Tennent) was named the Central Athletic Collegiate 
Conference (CACC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 21. Rahill and the Tigers competed in the Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College. Rahill finished second overall in the 10,000-meters as he recorded a time of 34:51.29, breaking the previous mark of 35:48.46 and setting a new school record. The second place showing marked his fourth top-three performance this outdoor season.
Junior Casey Comber (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of Villanova’s distance medley relay that posted a time of 9:51.32 in the Championship of America race at the Penn Relays.
Freshmen Michael Welde (Council Rock North) and Kyle Magee (Central Bucks South) were part of Saint Joseph’s 4×400 relay the crossed the finish line in 3:16.09 at the 2019 Penn Relays. The time met the IC4A mark. Freshman Aidan Sauer (Pennsbury) was part of the sprint medley relay that finished in 3:34.29 for eighth place in a field of 13. At Lehigh University’s John Covert Classic, sophomore Matthew Scarpill (Central Bucks South) won the 3000m steeplechase. He posted a new collegiate best time in the event in 9:38.07 for first in the field of eight to pick up his first college victory. At last Saturday’s Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton, Scarpill finished 43rd in the 1500m with a time of 3:56.45. Welde was part of the 4x400m relay that posted a time of 3:15.18 for third out of 12 squads. At the Widener Invitational, rookie Ben Bunch (Central Bucks West) turned in three points with a sixth place finish in a field of 111 runners in the 1500m with a PR of 4:00.83.
Ursinus sophomore Griffin McMann (Pennridge) won the shot put at Elizabethtown’s Blue Jay Tune-Up with a season best 47-8.50, two inches off his PR and enough to move into third on the conference performance list. Junior Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) registered a PR in the 110m hurdles (20.14). At Moravian last Saturday, McMann recorded a PR in the discus (41.79 meters) to move up to second on the CC performance list. He placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.08 meters.
Shippensburg redshirt freshman Shamar Jenkins (Souderton) posted a lifetime best of 51 feet (15.54 meters) in the triple jump at the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. His performance slots him fourth on the national leaderboard and all but ensures him a trip to the NCAA Championships. Jenkins came within 6.5 inches of the school record set in 2012. Junior Tommy Haas (Hatboro-Horsham) surpassed 185 feet on his top javelin throw to finish first. At the Fifth Annual Collegiate Invitational hosted by Shippensburg, Jenkins landed a national top 10 mark in the triple jump, winning the event with a mark beyond 15 meters. Sophomore Austin Howell (Pennridge) took third in the 400m with a time of 49.78. Freshman Yobani Moreno Estrada (Bensalem) finished fourth in discus with a throw of 147 feet, six inches.
Gwynedd Mercy freshman Elijah Rizzo (Bensalem) was fourth in the high jump (1.90m) at the Greyhound Invitational last Saturday.
Bucknell sophomore Connor McMenamin (Souderton) was second in the 1500m with a time of 3:59.50 at the Bucknell Team Challenge last Saturday. The time was just off the pace of an IC4A qualifying time.
Widener senior Sean Stovall (Springfield Township) finished eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.76 at the Widener Invitational last Saturday. He also placed 12th in the 400m dash with a 50.56.
Chestnut Hill junior Aaron Morris (Springfield Township) placed second in the 1500m with a time of 4:14.57 at Elizabethtown’s Blue Jay Tune-Up on Saturday. Senior Alex Nicolas (Neshaminy) placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 36.90m. at the Widener University Invitational, Nicolas placed 13th with a record discus throw of 35.26 meters. He also ranked 20th in the shot put with a toss of 10.28 meters.
Gettysburg sophomore Dylan McKeever (Central Bucks East) finished second out of 22 athletes in the 3000m run at Shippensburg’s Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. He clocked the third fastest outdoor time at Gettysburg with 8:57.67. In last Saturday’s Mason-Dixon Invitational, McKeever finished third in the mile with a time of 4:36.70.
George Weems (Upper Dublin) was part of Kutztown’s 4×200 relay that crossed the finished line with a time of 1:29.79 to finish 24th in a large field of primarily Division 1 teams. In last Saturday’s Greyhound Invitational at Moravian, Tommy Oliver (Bensalem) posted a new PSAC qualifying and personal best jump of 1.95m (6-4.75) in the high jump.
West Chester freshman Orion Frazier (Abington) finished ninth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.72 at the Paul Kaiser Track and Field Classic. In last Saturday’s All-American Invitational, Frazier grabbed fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 50.00 seconds.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Holy Family freshman Victoria Reid (Bensalem) finished second overall in the 3,000m steeplechase at the annual Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College last Saturday. The Abington graduate finished in 13:59.87 and as a result broke her own school record. Her previous best was 14:30.51 set last month at the Stockton Invitational. Senior Jaclyn Timoney (Council Rock South) finished second overall in the triple jump with a distance of 10.08m.
Penn State senior Marissa Sheva (Pennridge) set a new personal best in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase at the Penn Relays on Thursday. Sheva finished the race in a time of 10:34.87 to set her new personal best in the event.
Villanova sophomore Cala Lejman (Wissahickon) finished third in the pole vault (3.45 meters) at the widener Invitational last Saturday.
Ursinus sophomores Rachel Coleman (Wissahickon) and Michela Coleman (Wissahickon) were part of the 4x400m relay that turned in a time of 4:10.42 to place sixth in the Centennial/MAC 4×400 relay competition at the Penn Relays. Last Saturday at Moravian, sophomore Molly Rodebaugh (Central Bucks West) scored a new personal best in the 100m dash (13.28). She also notched a PR in the 200 (27.31) while sophomore Rachel Coleman’s 26.33 was easily a collegiate best and good for sixth in the conference. Michela Coleman lowered her individual record by nearly a second in the 400 with a 1:02.64. Freshman Amanda Choi (Plymouth Whitemarsh) notched a PR in the 1500m (5:52.44).
Shippensburg senior Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) won the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:34 at the 15th Annual Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. At the Fifth Annual SU Collegiate Invitational, redshirt sophomore Dior Alston (Cheltenham) finished second in the 400, improving her season best to 59.42. Freshman Kayla Gonzalez (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of the 4×400 relay that finished second with a time of 3:58.39.
Gwynedd Mercy junior Alyson Sharkey (North Penn) was eighth overall in the 400m hurdles (1:08.85) at the Greyhound Invitational last Saturday.
Widener freshman Grace Murphy (Upper Dublin) finished third in the 5K with a time of 21:58.84at the Haverford Mid Week on Monday.
Gettysburg senior Danielle DeMichael (Central Bucks East) placed third in the 800m run with a time of 2:30.14 at the Mason-Dixon Invitational last Saturday.
Brianna Stratz (Central Bucks South) was part of Monmouth’s 4×800 relay team that made its third straight appearance in a Championship of America final. After finishing sixth in 2017 and third last year, the team finished third again this year, posting a time of 8:37.35 to finish behind Indiana and Virginia Tech. Senior Allison Taub (Council Rock South) posted a throw of 154’9” to finish third in the college discus. In last Saturday’s Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University, Stratz finished third in the 800m invite final with a time of 2:07.81.
West Chester junior Tara McLaughlin (North Penn) finished fourth in the 5000m run with a time of 19:22.54 at the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. In last Saturday’s All-American Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg, Emma Brodhag (William Tennent) was second in the triple jump with a mark of 36’3”. At the Widener Invitational, Cara Jackson (Souderton) finished sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.37. McLaughlin was the top finisher in the 5K as she finished 11th with a time of 18:59.11.
Bloomsburg sophomore Kathleen Stevenson (North Penn) hit a NCAA provisional mark in the long jump with a distance of 5.83 meters to win the event at the annual Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday. The sophomore also qualified in the 200m dash with a time of 25.92 seconds to also win that event. Junior Jessica Milligan (Pennridge) ran the 400m hurdles in 1:07.98 to hit the conference standard in that event. At the Shippensburg University Mid-Week Invitational, Stevenson hit an NCAA Division II provisional mark in the long jump when she posted a personal best mark of 5.90 meters, which placed her third overall in the event. The leap is the third longest in the conference and is the 15th best mark in the country. It shattered her previous best outdoor jump of 5.66 meters she posted last season. She added a fourth place finish in the 100m dash with a personal best time of 12.42 and a second qualifying mark of the meet. It is the 15th best time in the league this year. She also had a fourth place finish in the 4x400m relay as her ‘B’ foursome, which included Milligan, posted a time of 4:11.75. Sophomore Jessica Brenfleck (North Penn) was part of the ‘A’ squad that placed third with a season-best time of 3:58.51, third fastest in the league this season. Brenfleck was sixth in the 400m dash (1:00.38, which was a personal best. Milligan qualified in the 400m hurdles (1:07.73).
East Stroudsburg junior Barbara Grossov (Quakertown) added a personal best mark of 141-9 to finish sixth at the Carol & John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday. In last Saturday’s All-American Meet, senior Victoria Matthews (Abington) was part of the 4×400 relay that recorded a season-best time of 4:01.51 Grossov finished third in the shot put with a mark of 39-1.
