Freshman Jared Melone (North Penn) had four hits in La Salle’s doubleheader at St. Bonaventure on Saturday. In Friday’s 6-5 win over St. Bonaventure, Melone went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.
Freshman Nick Ponente (Council Rock South) was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in Arcadia’s 9-5 loss to Alvernia in game two of a doubleheader split on Saturday.
Ryan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) threw a perfect ninth, fanning two for his sixth save of the season in St. Joseph’s 5-3 win over Rider on Wednesday.
Redshirt junior Conner Crookham (Hatboro-Horsham) was 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored in No. 13 East Stroudsburg’s 12-3 win over West Chester in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. Casey Saverio (Hatboro-Horsham) was 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and one run scored.
Daniel Chou (Wissahickon) was 2-for-3 in Caltech’s 13-3 loss to Pomona-Pitzer last Saturday.
Colton Hooker (Upper Moreland) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in Northampton Community’s 9-2 loss to Camden County College on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 10-0 win over Lehigh Carbon Community College, Hooker was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. With the win, Northampton clinched its fourth EPAC title in five seasons. In last Sunday’s 6-5 loss in eight innings to fifth-ranked Brookdale Community College, Hooker contributed an RBI single.
David Blount (Harry S Truman) was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in Gwynedd Mercy’s 5-4 loss in 10 innings to Immaculata in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. In Friday’s 7-6 win over Immaculata, Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) was 2-for-5 with four RBIs out of the leadoff spot. Dave Tatoian (Pennridge) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, and Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was 2-for-4 with one run scored. In Wednesday’s 18-8, win over Delaware Valley, Blount was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs, and Tatoian was 3-for-6 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Jason Mulvey was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and three runs, and Nick Mulvey contributed a double. Zach Dennis (Central Bucks South) picked up the win in relief, allowing just two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts in four innings of work. In Monday’s 27-8 win over Eastern University, Jason Mulvey was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, and Nick Mulvey was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs scored. Blount was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, and Tatoian was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.
Zachary Crim (Hatboro-Horsham) earned the complete game win in Chestnut Hill’s 9-0 win over Caldwell University in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. He allowed four hits while striking out eight and walking only two. Zach Szumigala (Pennsbury) was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Brandon DiBona (William Tennent) delivered a three-run triple in the eighth inning. In Chestnut Hill’s 4-1 win in game two, Patrick Kelly (Central Bucks West) earned the win, allowing four hits and one run while fanning six and walking three in six innings. Patrick Campion (Norristown) singled and drove in a run while Robert Slagle III (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had a double.

The CB South grad struck out five in six innings, walking none and allowing three runs. Justin Andrews (Neshaminy) allowed one hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief to earn the save.

Zach Schram (Council Rock North) went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Kutztown’s 16-3 loss to No. 2 Millersville on Saturday.
Junior right fielder Cory Capaldi (Souderton) blasted a two-out, three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Pace University a dramatic 9-6 win over Bloomfield College on Friday. He finished the game 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored.
Junior Bobby Altieri (Norristown) was 2-for-4 with a double in Delaware Valley’s 10-1 loss to DeSales University Friday.
Senior Steve Wright (Council Rock South) contributed an RBI single in Gettysburg’s 9-3 loss to Haverford on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 17-6 win at McDaniel College, Wright was 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBIs.
Matt McDonough (Abington) allowed just two hits and one run in nine innings, leading Penn State Abington to a 4-1 win over Gallaudet in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. The Abington grad struck out six and walked two. Anthony Pletscher (North Penn) was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs score while Trey Guaglionona (Abington) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Max German (Council Rock North) doubled and scored a run. In the Nittany Lions’ 4-2 win in game two, Guaglionona was 2-for-3 with a triple and run scored, and Will Faccenda (Council Rock South) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Greg Mugnier (Abington) did not allow a hit in two-thirds of an inning to close out the game, earning the save.
Josh Freed (Souderton) picked up his second win of the season in Eastern University’s 7-3 win over Manhattanville in game two of a twinbill split on Saturday. The junior right hander struck out six, allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings. Andrew Check (Central Bucks West) drove in a run. The senior center fielder had his best offensive season at Eastern, finishing the year with a .362 batting average and an OPS of over 1.000. Check made nine appearances out of the bullpen as well.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Kutztown junior forward Josh Johnson (Norristown) was named the MVP of the men’s basketball team this year. The 2016 PSAC Athlete of the Year led the Golden Bears with team highs of 14.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Johnson is the 24th player in KU history to go over the 1,000-point mark and helped lead the Golden Bears to the NCAA Sweet 16.
FIELD HOCKEY
Kutztown sophomore Courtney Konowal (Plymouth Whitemarsh) received the Coaches Award for field hockey. She was named to the All-PSAC third team in 2015, her second consecutive All-PSAC honor. Konowal started in all 19 games, recording two goals and four assists.
FOOTBALL
Mike Fitzpatrick (Abington) was credited with seven tackles and a sack in Millersville's Black versus Gold spring football game. Evan Stahl (Central Bucks South) banged home two field goals for the Gold squad, including a 43-yarder in the second quarter.
MEN’S GOLF
Stevenson freshman Luke McKeogh (William Tennent) posted a two-round score of
157, one of five golfers tied for the lead at the MAC Commonwealth Championship last Sunday at the Hershey Country Club East Course. He finished in a tie for third place overall, but his score helped lead Stevenson to its second MAC Commonwealth
Championship in program history. Stevenson finished 10 strokes ahead of second place Lebanon Valley. McKeogh and teammate Zack Potten received MAC Commonwealth Co-Rookie of the Year honors along with First Team All-Conference recognition. Sophomore Austin Fuglestad (Council Rock North) finished tied for sixth place overall with a two-day score of 158, which earned him a spot on the MAC All-Conference Second Team. With the conference championship victory, Stevenson will now head to the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships held at Midvale Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., May 10-13.
WOMEN’S GOLF
Kutztown senior Hope Giordano (Council Rock South) was named MVP of the golf team, capping her two-year career as the school record holder in both single season and career scoring average. The All-PSAC golfer finished in the top 10 in nine events this season.
MEN’S LACROSSE
With three goals against FDU-Florham, sophomore Chris Fleming (Upper Moreland) became the 13th player in Misericordia men’s lacrosse history to reach 100 career points. Fleming has a team-high 53 points this season after scoring 47 points as a first-year player.
Fleming had two goals and an assist as well as four ground balls in Misericordia’s 11-7 win over Delaware Valley on Saturday. With the win, Misericorida clinched a MAC Freedom postseason berth. In Wednesday’s 8-3 win at King’s, Fleming had one goal.
Jacob Snavely (Central Bucks South) tied a personal high with three goals in second-seeded Gwynedd Nercy’s 17-3 win over Centenary in a CSAC Tournament semifinal game Saturday. Nick Guglielmi (Council Rock South) added two goals as the Griffins will make their third appearance in the championship game in just their eighth season. In Wednesday’s 17-4 win over Neumann, Snavley scored three goals.
Cabrini senior Chris Schneekloth (Central Bucks East) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference
Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 24. Schneekloth’s dominance in the faceoff spot was a key factor in sparking Cabrini’s offense to 50 goals in two wins. The senior went 25-of-28 at the spot to go with a goal and an assist. In a 25-5 win at Rosemont, he won 10-of-11 faceoff chances and scooped 10 ground balls and also added a goal and an assist. In Cabrini’s 25-5 win over Centenary, Schneekloth went 14-for-16 with 10 ground balls. Schneekloth also was named to the CSAC first team. The CB East grad is one of the nation’s top faceoff specialists, ranking eighth in the nation with a .694 winning percentage. The senior also leads the team with 87 ground balls, including a career high 10 against Keystone, Rosemont and Centenary.
Cabrini freshman Riley White (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named to the CSAC second team. White has established himself as one of the league’s top netminders, sporting a 7.03 goals-against average, second in the CSAC, in his 10 appearances. The rookie surrendered more than five goals just once and recorded 10 saves at SUNY Cortland and Gwynedd Mercy.
Cabrini senior Austin Edelman (Upper Merion) was named to the CSAC Sportsmanship Team. Edelman is
having the best year of his career, pairing seven caused turnovers with 13 ground balls in 15 appearances. The senior caused two turnovers in wins over Ohio Wesleyan, Keystone and Centenary.
Schneekloth won 18 of his 19 faceoffs in Cabrini’s 23-3 win over Marywood in Saturday’s CSAC semifinal. In Wednesday’s 23-7 win over Immaculata, Schneekloth won 14-of-16 face-offs, secured nine ground balls and added a goal.
Tyler Gehlhaus (Hatboro-Horsham) was credited with three caused turnovers in Eastern University’s 8-7 win over DeSales University on Saturday.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Louisville senior Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) was named to the 2016 All-Atlantic Coast Conference second team. The Hatboro-Horsham grad is second on the team with 47 points, scoring 37 goals and adding 10 assists. She also leads the team in caused turnovers with 30. Daley has tallied eight hat tricks this season, including three game-winning goals. For her career, Daley has scored 151 goals and dished out 23 assists.
Daley had one goal, one ground ball, one caused turnover and one draw control in Louisville’s 12-10 loss to Notre Dame in a quarterfinal game of the ACC tournament on Friday.
Temple University senior Brenda McDermott (North Penn) was named the BIG EAST Lacrosse Attacker of
the Week for the week ending April 24. The honor is the first for McDermott, who was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll earlier this season. McDermott posted a league-high 11 points off six goals and five assists in victories over Villanova and Cincinnati. She scored a hat trick in each outing while adding a pair of assists against the Wildcats and a trio of dishes against the Bearcats. The hat tricks were the third and fourth of the season for McDermott. The senior also recorded six ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover.
McDermott contributed a goal in Temple’s 11-4 win over Georgetown on Saturday. With the win, the Owls earned their first ever BIG EAST Tournament berth. The Owls will be the third seed in next week’s championships.
Senior Kelly Cross (Upper Dublin) scored three goals, including a goal as time expired to send the game into overtime, but No. 3 North Carolina tallied the game winner in the first extra session to claim a 15-14 victory over No. 4 Syracuse in the ACC title game on Sunday. In Friday’s 9-5 semifinal win over Notre Dame, Cross had two goals and one assist. In Thursday’s 16-11 win over Boston College, Cross scored an unassisted goal at the 2:09 mark of the first half to give the Orange a 7-6 halftime lead.
Keystone College sophomore Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) was named to the 2016 All-CSAC second team as a midfielder. Hawkins led Keystone in scoring with 70 points on 15 goals and 19 assists while leading the CSAC in points per game and ranking second in goals per game and assists per game. Hawkins, who earned a pair of weekly honors from the conference this spring, also led the Giants with 51 draw controls and was second in caused turnovers with 20 and third in ground balls with 37. Hawkins was named to the CSAC Women’s Lacrosse Honor Roll for the week ending April 24.

Senior Mallory Mugnier (Abington) scored her ninth goal of the season in Penn State Abington’s 12-3 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Friday.
Eastern University senior Stephanie Hogan (Central Bucks West) received Freedom Conference honorable mention recognition. The CB West graduate contributed 24 goals, six assists, 41 ground balls, 30 caused turnovers and 33 draw controls.
Hogan had a goal and two assists in Eastern University’s 13-9 loss to visiting King’s College on Saturday afternoon. In Monday’s 15-8 loss to Misericordia, Hogan contributed a goal and an assist.
West Chester University senior Danielle Ferguson (Upper Dublin) was named to the All-PSAC third team. The Upper Dublin graduate, one of the three in the back of the defense, grabbed 24 ground balls and caused 19 turnovers.
Graduate student goalkeeper Ashley Alden (William Tennent) made a key save with 26 seconds to play to
lead St. Joseph’s to a 14-12 win over George Washington on Saturday. The Tennent graduate recorded six saves and gave up just four goals in the final 23:56. Senior defender Caroline Hagan (Hatboro-Horsham) was credited with two ground balls and a team-best two caused turnovers. She extends SJU’s all-time program record for career caused turnovers to 82 and moves into a tie for fourth all-time in single season caused turnovers (28).
Senior midfielder Liz Mower (Souderton) had two goals and one assist in Philadelphia University’s 19-10 loss to 10th-ranked Dowling College on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 10-9 win over Chestnut Hill, Moyer had three goals and added two ground balls and a caused turnover. In Monday’s 23-0 win over Felician Monday, Mower scored her 200th career goal. Mower – who recorded her 300th point 24 hours earlier – became the program’s all-time goals leader and the first Ram to record 200 goals with her first of three goals.
Senior goalkeeper Ally Frymoyer (Upper Merion) recorded 12 saves in Shippensburg’s 13-12 win over Bloomsburg in its season finale on Tuesday. Her 12 saves, one shy of a season high, marks the fifth time this season and 25th time in her career that she recorded double-digit saves in a contest. She finishes with 580 saves, including at least 121 saves in each season. Her 2016 campaign marked a season best for fewest goals allowed. In Tuesday’s season-ending win, Frymoyer recorded three of her saves in the final 14:32 that saw the Raiders close out the game with a 5-0 tear. Sophomore Allison Fugate (Pennridge) contributed a goal.
Freshman Sarah Gallagher (Upper Dublin) recorded 11 saves in La Salle’s 15-9 loss to Duquesne on Saturday.
SOFTBALL
Senior Erica Reis (Central Bucks East) was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBIs and a run scored in La Salle’s 10-8 win over UMass in game two of a doubleheader split on Senior Day on Saturday. Christina Bascara (Pennsbury) was 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, and Mackenzie Obert (Pennsbury) also had a solo home run. Angelina Refice (Central Bucks West) and Suzanne Swanicke (Pennsbury) were both 1-for-3.
Emily Mayhew (Pennridge) was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in Bloomsburg’s 5-1 win over California on Saturday to capture the program’s first PSAC Championship since 2010. The Huskies entered Saturday needing to beat a California Vulcan team – with just two losses all season – twice to claim the PSAC Championship. The 5-1 win came on the heels of a 5-4 win in eight innings earlier in the day. In Friday’s 3-2 win over Lock Haven in an elimination game, Mayhew was 1-for-3 with a walk. Heather Lutz (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 with a run scored in Millersville’s 5-2 loss to Lock Haven in an elimination game of the PSAC Tournament on Friday. In Thursday’s 3-2 win over nationally-ranked West Chester in an elimination game, Lutz was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Jaynie Black (Hatboro-Horsham) was 1-for-2. Megan Hallock (Hatboro-Horsham) delivered an acrobatic catch in center field late in the game to help preserve the lead.

MEN’S TENNIS
Penn State Abington sophomore Justin McNab (Cheltenham) was named the NEAC West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending April 24. The Cheltenham graduate earned a critical conference win against Penn State Berks in singles and doubles action. In third flight singles, McNab earned a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win. In doubles action, his team earned a 6-3 win.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Penn State Abington junior Honora Hegarty (Abington) was named the Women’s Tennis Player of the Year
after she upset the number one seed from Berks in the top flight of the NEAC Tournament. In the second slot for singles, Amanda Shulski (Neshaminy) came home with a first place finish to earn first team honors. She also was named first team in the second doubles.
Hegarty earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles in Penn State Abington’s 5-4 loss to Penn State Berks in the NEAC West Championship. She also was part of an 8-4 win at first doubles. Shulski earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at second singles. In the Nittany Lions 5-0 win over Keuka College in a NEAC semifinal match, Hegerty was part of the winning first doubles team (8-0) while Shulski was part of the winning second doubles team (8-1).
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Jeff Wiseman (Council Rock South) ran the 400m leg of Penn’s distance medley relay that broke a 44-year-old school record at the 122nd Penn Relays on Friday, posting a time of 9:37.25 to place third behind Penn State and Georgetown in the Championship of America race. The relay team broke a long-standing school record by over two seconds that was set in 1972. On Saturday, Wiseman and Drew Magaha (Upper Moreland) were part of the 4×800 relay team that competed in the Championship of America. The Red and Blue finished in 7:24.47 for fifth place.
Elizabethtown sophomore Mitch Schlegel (Souderton) placed 10th in the open 400m with a time of 51.18 at Shippensburg University’s Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. Schlegel and Sam Brooks (Wissahickon) were part of the 4x400m relay that competed in the Penn Relays and finished third in the Pop Haddleton MAC section of the mile relay at Franklin Field.
Austin Cooper (Upper Merion) was part of IUP’s distance medley relay that posted a time of 10:15.37 at the Penn Relays on Friday.
Shippensburg sophomore Alex Balla (Quakertown) won the 5K with a time of 15:08.73, improving his season best by two seconds at Shippensburg’s 12th Annual Paul Kaiser on Saturday. Alec Brand (Central Bucks East) was fourth in the 10K with a time of 32:47.62. Ian Davies (Central Bucks West) was part of the 4×800 relay that finished second with a time of 8:12.30.
Shippensburg junior Jalen Ramsey (Norristown) was SU’s lone representative at the Penn Relays on Saturday where he finished third in the high jump by successfully clearing 6-11 ½.
Junior Austin Gardener (Neshaminy) was part of Moravian College’s 4x200m relay that posted a school record time of 1:31.31 at the Penn Relays on Friday. He also was part of the relay team that competed in the Sprint Medley Championship of America that finished in a school record time of 3:36.76 to place 20th. At the Lehigh University Games on Saturday, Gardener took home first place in the 200m dash with a time of 22.39. He also grabbed second place in the 100m dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 11.25. In the long jump, senior Kyle Hagerty (Pennridge) qualified for ECACs with a jump of 6.83m (22-5), giving him a third place in the event.
La Salle sophomore Josephy Leconey (North Penn) finished 10th in the 1500m run with a time of 4:03.12 at the Lehigh Games on Saturday.
La Salle junior Chris Sanders (Upper Merion) was part of the 4x800m relay that posted a time of 7:31.03 to top the 25-team field in the College Men’s 4×800 at the Penn Relays on Saturday. Sanders brought home the race with a blistering fourth leg of 1:50.27, the second fastest anchor leg overall to earn the victory. Sanders also was part of the distance medley relay that turned in a time of 9:42.58 at the Penn Relays for a 10th place finish on Friday. Sanders ran the 800 third led in 1:47.90, which was the second fastest split of the leg.
Bloomsburg sophomore Alex Moran (Pennridge) posted a PR of 56.93 at Bloomsburg’s annual Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday.
Kutztown senior Chris Varichione (Quakertown) received the Coaches Award for the men’s track and field team. An All-Region thrower in 2016, he finished in the top five in the weight throw at the PSAC Indoor Championships. He finished in the top 15 at the PSAC Championships in at least one event in each of his four seasons with the Golden Bears.
Kutztown sophomore Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) finished first in the pole vault at Shippensburg University’s Paul Kaiser Classic. One day after posting a career-best mark of 4.85m (15-11) at the Penn Relays, he matched it as he tied his career-best vault and won the event with an existing NCAA provisional mark. Redshirt sophomore Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) finished second in the 110m with an existing PSAC time of 11.09 seconds. He also finished eighth in the 400m (57.56). Obi Ogboma (Harry S Truman) finished 17th in the 400m hurdles with a season-best time of 1:10.47. Senior thrower Chris Varichione (Quakertown) finished fourth in the hammer throw with an existing PSAC mark of 51.68m (169-7).
Raguz posted a career-best and existing NCAA provisional mark of 4.85m (15-11) in the pole vault on Friday at the Penn Relays on his way to a third place finish. The career-best vault from Raguz moved him up to eighth all-time on the KU leaderboard for the event. His previous best mark was 15-7.25, set at the Golden Ram Invitational.
Bryan Reice (Neshaminy) was part of West Chester’s 4x100m relay that finished with a time of 41.91 to take first place at the 2016 Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University on Saturday.
Royce Scrivano (Central Bucks East), a graduate of St. Joseph's where he ran track for four years, participated in the Blue Cross Broad Street 10-Mile Run on Sunday. Although the weather conditions were less than ideal, he completed the run in 1:09.24, a 6.57 mile pace over 10 miles. He finished 1,165 out of 34,423 total finishers.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Sydnee Jacques (North Penn) was part of Temple’s 4x100m hurdles shuttle relay team that posted a heat-winning time of 47.59 to place third overall in the Championship of America final at the Penn Relays on Friday. Their performance ranks as the fastest time and highest finish in the event since 2009. Jacques finished 24th in the triple jump with a leap of 11.44 meters.
Elizabethtown sophomore Kelsey Brady (Council Rock South) finished third in the 1500m run with a time of 4:43.35 at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg on Saturday.
Pitt sophomore Melanie Vlasic (North Penn) placed second in the 1500m run with a time of 4:30.18 at the Buffalo Invitational on Saturday. Jamila Branch (Central Bucks West) was sixth in the 800m run.
Dara Lindsey (Central Bucks East), Emily Dusellier (Souderton) and Emily Magnant (Hatboro-Horsham) were part of West Chester’s 4×400 relay team that posted a time of 3:53.94 to capture first place at the 2016 Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University on Saturday. Lindsey also finished fifth in the 400m dash, and Magnant took fifth in the 100m dash and seventh place in the 200m dash. Dusellier added a sixth place finish in the 800m run. Christine Johnson (North Penn) finished sixth in the hammer throw.
Shippensburg freshman Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) posted a time of 10:18.81 to capture first place in her 3K debut on Saturday at the 12th Annual Paul Kaiser Classic. Freshman Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) completed the 3,000m steeplechase in 11:54.75 to finish third. Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) was part of the 4×400 relay that concluded the meet with a season-best time of 3:54.05 to finish second. Allison King (North Penn) finished second in the 100m (12.65) and fourth in the 200m (25.71).
Moravian sophomore Beth Ann Davies (Quakertown) tied for seventh in the pole vault at the Lehigh University Games on Saturday. Sophomore Casie Cronk (Quakertown) finished fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.58m (5-2.25).
Allison Gallagher (Souderton) was part of Widener’s 4×400 relay that crossed the finish line with a time of 4:10.52 to finish fourth in the Centennial/Middle Atlantic Conference 4×400 Race at the Penn Relays on Thursday.
Bloomsburg junior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a PR of 11:23.32 at Bloomsburg’s annual Maroon and Gold Invitational Saturday.
Kutztown freshman Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) finished fourth in the 1500m run with an existing PSAC time of 4:44.93 at Shippensburg’s Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. Anecia Alexahki (Upper Merion) finished fourth in the pole vault with a career best height of 11-2.25, good for seventh all-time in school history. Taylor Thames (North Penn) was part of the 4x400m relay team that finished eighth with a time of 4:16.51.
Freshman Victoria Matthews (Abington) was part of East Stroudsburg 4x800m relay that posted a time of 9:24.40 at the Penn Relays on Saturday, breaking the previous program record of 9:30.97 set in 2014.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Kutztown senior Audrey Stringer (Pennsbury) was named MVP of the women’s volleyball team. The Pennsbury graduate earned All-PSAC East First Team honors for the third straight season as well as being named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Region Team. Stringer recorded career highs of 357 kills and 156 total blocks during her final season.
WRESTLING
Kutztown redshirt senior Matt Martoccio (Council Rock South) was named MVP of the wrestling team this year. The team captain was an All-American for the second consecutive season after finishing sixth at the NCAA National Championships. Martoccio finished his stellar career ranked third in KU history with 89 wins.
