Bucknell sophomore Connor McMenamin (Souderton) posted a time of 25:44.5 at the Panorama Farms Invite hosted by the University of Virginia on Friday.
Messiah freshman Josiah Moyer (Souderton) finished seventh with a time of 29:25.00 at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday.
Bloomsburg redshirt junior Declan McDonald (Central Bucks West) posted a time of 27:09.6 at the Lock Haven Invitational last Saturday.
Holy Family junior MJ Powlowicz (Harry S Truman) finished 39th with a time of 31:41.7 at the annual Delaware Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware on Saturday. Freshman Tewodros Simmons (William Tennent) finished 41st with a time of 31:46.9. Senior Ryan Merriman (Pennsbury) was 51st with a time of 32:57.6, and senior Connor Irwin (Hatboro-Horsham) recorded a season-best time of 35:20.4. In last Saturday’s Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University, sophomore Sean Rahill (William Tennent) finished 24th overall with a time of 27:23.39 over the 8K course.
Jefferson University sophomore Josh Skinner (Upper Dublin) posted a time of 32:093.3 and Samuel Bley (Neshaminy) finished in 32:16.1 at the University of Delaware Invitational on Saturday.
Gwynedd Mercy freshman Thomas Balla (Bensalem) finished 11th with a time of 31:56.7 at the Dan Talbot Open hosted by Bryn Mawr College on Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY
Sophomore Riley Donnelly (Central Bucks East) connected on a penalty stroke just 1:17 into the match in fourth-ranked Maryland’s 4-0 win over James Madison. The CB East grad buried a second penalty stroke later in the game.
Sophomore Bridget Thompson (Council Rock North) had an assist on a penalty corner goal in No. 14 Bates College’s 5-1 win over Husson on Tuesday. In Bates’ 4-0 win over Thomas College, Thompson scored a goal that gave Bates a 3-0 lead in the 68th minute. A year ago, Bates fell to Thomas 5-2 to drop to 0-4 in the 2018 season. A year later, Bates is 4-1.
Senior Katie Bagdon (Council Rock North) converted a penalty stroke for her second goal of the season in Drexel’s 3-2 loss to Temple last Sunday. In Drexel’s 6-0 win over Bryant, freshman Cailey Lever (Central Bucks East) scored her second goal of the season.
Junior Anna Lehman (Council Rock North) opened the scoring for the second straight game with a goal midway through the first quarter in Lehigh’s 5-1 win over Wagner last Sunday. In Lehigh’s 2-1 victory at Colgate, Lehman scored a goal that evened the score at the 55:50 mark.
Junior goalkeeper Brynne Schoppe (North Penn) recorded nine saves in a strong effort in goal in Albright’s 2-1 loss to Lebanon Valley in double overtime on Friday afternoon. In Albright’s 2-1 win over Susquehanna, Schoppe earned four saves in the full 60 minutes.
Jess Dixon (Plymouth Whitemarsh) connected on a pair of goals in Delaware Valley’s 4-0 victory over Drew University.
Abigail Geisler (Neshaminy) knocked in the rebound of a shot in the 69th minute to lift Eastern University to a 2-1 overtime win over Wesley College. In Eastern’s 5-4 loss in overtime to Elizabethtown, Geisler scored twice in a wild first half that saw Eastern open up a 3-2 lead.
Senior defender Christen Pennington (Neshaminy) scored in the last three minutes of the second quarter in Villanova’s 8-2 loss to Penn State on Sunday. In last Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Rider in overtime, Pennington scored on a penalty corner in the 52nd minute. Casey Reilly (Central Bucks South) scored her second goal of the season in La Salle’s 2-1 loss to Georgetown last Sunday.
Erin Saybolt (Souderton) scored a goal with an assist from Anna Hall (Central Bucks West) in No. 10 Ursinus College’s 3-0 win over Gettysburg on Saturday. In the Bears’ 6-0 win over McDaniel, Saybolt had a pair of goals.
Becky Gerhart (Quakertown) scored a goal in Temple’s 3-2 win over Drexel last Sunday.
Sam Scoma (Wissahickon) scored a goal in Widener’s 13-0 win over Notre Dame (Md.).
Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Ryan Murray (Central Bucks West) was named the Atlantic East Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15. Murray’s week included two goals – both game-winners – to help the Griffins stay unbeaten to open the season. Murray scored with eight minutes in the fourth quarter to give Gwynedd Mercy a 2-1 victory over Arcadia. The CB West grad netted the go-ahead tally with just over a minute in a 2-1 win against FDU-Florham.
FOOTBALL
Junior Reece Udinski (North Penn) threw for 315 yards by completing 25 of 38 passes with zero interceptions in VMI’s 51-36 loss to visiting Wofford College on Saturday. With his 25 completions, Udinski now has 483 career completions, moving to number three on the all-time VMI list. With two touchdown passes on the day, he also ties for the No. 3 spot on the all-time VMI list for career touchdown passes with 31. In last Saturday’s 31-21 loss to Robert Morris, Udinski finished the game with 274 net yards passing by completing 30 of 52 pass attempts. VMI totaled 446 yards on offense to Robert Morris’ 368 for the game.
Thomas Garlick (Quakertown) ran for over 100 yards and two fourth quarter touchdowns, including a game-sealing 67-yard sprint in Ursinus College’s 35-28 win at Moravian on Saturday. All three of the touchdowns that the co-captain was responsible for came in the second half. Garlick finished 14 of 22 for 223 yards and a touchdown while adding 125 rushing yards on 15 carries. Stacey Gardner (Upper Dublin) had an eight-yard touchdown run. In last Saturday’s 44-38 loss to Juniata, Garlick completed 21 of 32 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns, giving him 41 for his career. Dakota Wherrity (William Tennent) split the pipes for his first career field goal from 20 yards. Gardener had a four-yard touchdown for his 16th career rushing touchdown.
Redshirt junior Nyfease West (North Penn) posted career highs in receptions (five) and receiving yards (67) while also adding 15 yards out of the backfield in Bloomsburg’s 30-15 loss to Shippensburg on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 38-24 loss to Mercyhurst, West found paydirt for the first time in his Bloomsburg career as he went around left end and into the end zone from seven yards out.
Redshirt freshman fullback David Akinwande (Harry S Truman) had a 15-yard touchdown reception in East Stroudsburg’s 63-14 victory at Lock Haven on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 34-14 win over Edinboro, redshirt sophomore free safety Tyler Watson (Central Bucks South) had an interception.
Kutztown University junior Nick Vasger (North Penn) was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 22. The North Penn grad recorded 1.5 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and recovered a fumble in KU’s 35-10 victory over Gannon. He was disruptive to the Golden Knights’ offensive game plan all afternoon and finished with four tackles on the day. His three tackles for loss cost Gannon 14 yards. The junior defensive end teamed up with Eric Miller to bring down Gannon quarterback Jimmy Keefe in the backfield late in the first quarter. Midway through the fourth, he dropped Keefe for an eight-yard loss on a solo sack. Vasger also recovered a fumble at Gannon’s 10 on the Knights’ first possession of the second half. The Golden Bears scored off the turnover to go up 28-3.
Branden Mack (Cheltenham) had a 27-yard touchdown reception in Temple’s 38-22 loss to Buffalo. He had four catches for 72 yards.
Luke Durkin (Central Bucks West) turned in a career performance in his start at tailback, finishing with 172 yards on 31 carries in Shippensburg’s 30-15 win over Bloomsburg on Saturday. Durkin, a graduate student, is the only current Red Raider to appear in every game since the start of the 2016 season. He entered Saturday’s game with 13 career rushes and 23 career starts. His 172 yards is the most by a Red Raider in 79 games. He also caught three passes for 40 yards. His 212 all-purpose yards are the most by a Red Raider in a single game since 2016.
Malcolm Carey (Bensalem) had 17 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown in Alvernia’s 41-13 loss to Widener on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 31-12 loss to Lebanon Valley, Carey reached over 100 yards for the third straight game, rushing for 155 yards on 14 attempts.
Defensive end Michael Gobora (Pennsbury) registered five tackles, including one sack, and also had a forced fumble in his first career start in No. 16 West Chester’s 48-7 win over Millersville on Saturday.
Sophomore Will Dogba (Neshaminy) led the Lions in rushing with 10 carries for 39 yards and sophomore Malik Bootman (Upper Dublin) recorded 36 yards receiving on three catches with one touchdown in Albright’s 55-7 loss to No. 15 Delaware Valley University on Saturday.
Senior quarterback Michael Marino (Wissahickon) was 17 of 34 for 254 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Chestnut Hill’s 25-22 victory over Mansfield in Collegiate Sprint Football League action last Saturday.
MEN’S GOLF
Temple junior Dawson Anders (Souderton) shot two-under 70 on his first round at the River Run Collegiate in Davidson North Carolina. He finished tied for 50th at 229. Anthony Barr (Souderton), who was competing as an individual, finished 81st at 242. At the Cornell Invitational, Anders led the way for Temple, shooting one-under 70 on the final day and finishing four-over 217 to tie for 14th overall.
Saint Joseph’s University senior Tommy Lewis (Central Bucks East) – playing as an individual – carded a three-under par 68 to finish tied for 20th at 75-68/143 (+1) at the Dartmouth Invitational.
Freshman Matthew Fleming (Council Rock South) carded a one-under-par 70 at Stone Hedge Golf Club in the University Scranton’s 300-310 win over Marywood in a dual match on Saturday. With the win, Scranton improved to 6-0 on the short season in dual matches.

Penn State senior Maddy Herr (Council Rock North) finished six-over to finish 52nd at the 30th annual Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University of Kentucky’s Big Blue Course. In last weekend’s Nittany Lion Invitational, Herr tied for 14th at 6-over (222).

Evan Vare (Central Bucks East) scored in the 71st minute in Villanova’s 1-0 win over George Washington on Tuesday.

In Gwynedd’s 3-2 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham on Monday, Kevin Bowers (Council Rock South) buried his second penalty kick of the year to knot the game 2-2. In last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Bryn Athyn, Bowers contributed an assist on the game-winner. In the Griffins’ 1-0 win over Cairn, Bowers was credited with the assist.
Sophomore Tarin Morris (Central Bucks West) lofted a pass that sparked a breakaway and set up the game’s lone goal in La Salle’s 1-0 win at Howard on Tuesday.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
After two more shutouts, Lehigh University junior goalkeeper Miranda Royds (Hatboro-Horsham) won her second straight Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week award, this time for the week ending Sept. 15. Royds had five shutouts in eight games this season. The Mountain Hawks picked up 2-0 wins at home versus UMBC and Saint Joseph’s. In the process, Royds extended her shutout streak to exactly 400 minutes, Lehigh’s longest shutout streak since beginning 2016 with eight straight clean sheets. The H-H grad finished with three saves vs. UMBC and six against Saint Joseph’s, which included a big first-half stop from close distance to keep the game scoreless. For the season, Royds had a 0.55 goals against average and 89.4 save percentage.
Emma Loving (Central Bucks East) scored a goal in the 54th minute to break a tie and propel the University of Pennsylvania to a 2-1 win over Temple last Sunday. It was Loving’s first goal of the season and 10th of her career.
Sophomore Jacqueline Ziegler (Neshaminy) connected on a shot from 20 yards out for her first goal of the season in Holy Family’s 7-0 win over Concordia last Saturday. Sophomore goalkeeper Alayna McSeed (Bensalem) earned her first win of the season. The clean slate marked her fourth career shutout.

DeSales University freshman Allie Trick (Souderton) was named the MAC Freedom Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22. Trick scored a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week. The Souderton grad scored the third goal in a 3-1 win over Lebanon Valley to being the week. Trick then scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Stevenson.
Trick scored off a throw-in 8:14 into the game in DeSales University’s 4-1 win over Hood on Saturday. It was Trick’s eighth goal of the season. The freshman forward leads the Bulldogs in scoring.
Mary Kate Smith (Springfield Township) scored a goal in Penn State Abington’s 3-2 loss to Gwynedd Mercy.
Kristin Wilkinson (North Penn) dropped a corner kick into the feet of teammate Marissa Lapinsky, who found the net in Elizabethtown’s 3-0 win over St. Mary’s (Md.).

Katie Crouthamel (Quakertown) scored a goal in the 10th minute of West Chester’s 2-1 loss to Millersville on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 4-0 road win at Mansfield, junior Hannah Zach (Central Bucks East) scored with an assist from Crouthamel. Freshman Nicolette Harrison (Pennridge) scored her first collegiate goal with eight minutes remaining in the second half. In last Saturday’s 3-0 win over Lock Haven, junior Dani Cady (Pennsbury) assisted on the game’s first goal in the sixth minute. Zach scored a goal midway through the second half. Freshman goalkeeper Emily Helmich (Council Rock South) made her college debut in the final 20 minutes. In West Chester’s 1-0 win over No. 16 East Stroudsburg, Crouthamel scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner late in the first half.
Emily Tomlinson (Neshaminy) delivered a cross to set up a goal in No. 23 Millersville’s 5-0 victory over Lock Haven.
Senior Katelyn Gilinger (Springfield Township) tallied a goal and senior Marissa Portelli (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed an assist in Cabrini’s 3-1 win over Alvernia on Saturday. Gilinger handed the Blue and White the early lead in the 18th minute after taking a pass from Portelli and weaving her way past the keeper for an open shot on net. In last Saturday’s 3-1 victory over the Notre Dame of Maryland University, Portelli delivered a corner in the box to set up a goal in the 79th minute. In Cabrini’s 3-1 win over Rutgers-Camden, Gilinger won the footrace against a charging Rutgers keeper at the top of the 18 and delivered the ball into an empty net.

Gwynedd Mercy freshman Lauriel Krouse (William Tennent) was named the Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15. Krouse made her first collegiate start in goal against Delaware Valley and was credited with nine saves in a scoreless 0-0 draw. Four of those stops came in the overtime periods.
Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Amanda Credidio (Bensalem) was named the Atlantic East Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22. The women’s soccer team picked up two wins during the week. Credidio scored two goals in each of those games, first a 3-2 win at Penn State Abington and then a 3-0 victory at Bryn Athyn.
Carissa Manero (Pennridge) scored a first-half goal while Krouse had three assists, which ties a program record, and Haleigh Kaufmann (Pennsbury) chipped in an assist in Gwynedd Mercy’s 4-1 win over Rosemont on Tuesday. Daniella Repkoe (Hatboro-Horsham) made one stop to earn the victory in goal. In last Saturday’s 3-0 win at Bryn Athyn, Credidio paced the offense with a pair of goals and assisted on a third. In the Griffins’ 3-2 win at Penn State Abington, Credidio scored two goals and Repkoe recorded a pair of saves to register her first career win.

Sophomore Chris Succi (Pennsbury) won his match at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-3 in West Chester’s 9-0 win over Arcadia.

Senior Nicole Yang (Wissahickon) was part of the third flight doubles team that earned a 6-4 win in Chestnut Hill’s 4-3 victory over Post University. Sophomore Gianna Vassalluzzo (Council Rock North) recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number six singles. In Wednesday’s 6-1 victory over Holy Family, Yang was part of the number three doubles team that earned a 6-0 victory. Vassalluzzo was part of the number two doubles team that earned a 6-2 win. In Chestnut Hill’s 6-1 win over Kutztown, Vassalluzzo was part of the number two doubles team that earned a 6-1 win. In Chestnut Hill’s win over Caldwell, Vassalluzzo was part of the number two doubles team that earned a 6-2 win. Yang earned a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 win at number four singles.
Junior Shannon Nixon (Cheltenham) earned a 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 comeback win in fifth singles in West Chester’s 4-3 win over the University of the Sciences on Friday. On day 2 of the ITA Regionals, Nixon was part of the doubles team that won the doubles B bracket for West Chester.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Junior Steph Judkins (Pennridge) moved to the top of the program’s kills list as Cabrini closed the Stevens Invitational with a 3-2 victory over SUNY New Paltz. With Judkins’ 44 kills through the three matches, the junior now has 1,144 career kills, passing the previous mark held by Danielle Carrozza (2011-13). In Cabrini’s 3-1 loss to Stevens, Judkins had 12 kills, eight digs and three block assists while sophomore Hannah Dalton (Abington) added nine kills, two aces, two solo blocks and three block assists. Lauren Coscia (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had three kills. In Cabrini’s 3-2 win over SUNY New Paltz, Judkins had 19 kills and 15 digs while Dalton added nine kills, three block assists and two solo blocks. In Cabrini’s 3-1 loss to Stockton, Judkins had 13 kills and Dalton added seven kills and four assists.
Kutztown University junior Holly Owen (Hatboro-Horsham) was selected the PSAC Central Division Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15. Owen averaged better than 4.5 kills per set during a 4-1 week. The Hatboro-Horsham grad racked up 82 kills, 23 digs and six blocks during the week. KU clicked off wins against Bowie State, Saint Michael’s Salem and Goldey-Beacom. The outside hitter was outstanding in a 3-0 sweep of Saint Michael’s, collecting 16 kills and no errors on 28 attempts for a season high .571 hitting percentage. Owen had 20 kills in a four-set loss to Notre-Dame (Ohio) before tying a career high with 22 in a 3-2 comeback victory against Goldey Beacom. Owen also had 13 kills in a win over Bowie State and 11 in a sweep of Salem. Through Sept. 15, Owen led the PSAC with kills (132) and kills per set (4.55) while ranking third and seventh in those categories nationally.
Owen had 12 kills and six digs in Kutztown’s 3-0 loss to Clarion on Saturday. In Friday’s 3-2 loss to Slippery Rock. Owen tied a program record with 30 kills. She joined Sarah Brandon as the only KU players to ever eclipse the 30-kill mark. Brandon registered 30 kills, also in five sets, during a match against IUP on Sept. 24, 2005. Owen hit .208 for the match and set a new program standard with 77 attack attempts. In KU’s losses to LeMoyne (3-2) and host Georgian Court (3-0), Owen tallied a team-high 34 kills. In the loss to LeMoyne, the H-H alum finished with 22 kills and a .395 hitting percentage.
Jenny McAnaney (Upper Dublin) racked up nine kills in Penn State Abington’s 3-0 loss to SUNY Cortland on Saturday. In the Nittany Lions’ 3-2 loss to Bethany College later in the day, McAnaney earned 12 kills and 20 digs. In Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Bryn Athyn, McAnaney set a season high with 25 digs. In Abington’s 3-2 loss to Notre Dame University of Maryland, McAnaney led the Nittany Lions with 16 kills and 20 digs.
Gwynedd Mercy junior Cait Saalfrank (Pennridge) was named the Atlantic East Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22. The Pennridge graduate became Gwynedd Mercy’s all-time dig leader as the junior hit the mark in the Griffins’ match with Albright at Cairn. She finished the week with 99 digs and 13 service aces in four matches. Her high for the week came against Clarks Summit, notching 31 digs in a five-set thriller. Saalfrank has 1,325 digs in 65 career matches. Her 13 service aces included six against Valley Forge. She added 10 assists and six kills to help her to 19 points for the week.
Saalfrank was chosen for a spot on the Atlantic East Honor Roll for the week ending Sept. 15. The Pennridge grad finished the week with 45 digs and five service aces while adding four kills and a pair of assists from her libero position. In the Griffins’ 3-0 win over Delaware Valley, she racked up 14 digs and four aces. Two days later at Cedar Crest, she totaled a match high 31 digs.
Bridget McTamney (Plymouth Whitemarsh) recorded her ninth double-double of the year as the setter put up 17 assists and 13 digs along with five aces, which tied a career high, in Gwynedd Mercy’s 3-0 road victory at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Madelyn Mosser (Pennridge) contributed seven kills and Layne Morgan (Upper Dublin) had six kills. In Friday’s 3-1 win over Goucher, Mosser had eight kills while McTamney totaled 25 assists, 24 digs, four aces, two kills and a solo block. Saalfrank served up four aces and collected a match high 33 digs. In Tuesday’s 3-0 loss to Notre Dame of Maryland, McTamney registered 19 assists and 12 blocks for a double-double while adding three blocks and an ace. Mosser had four block assists. In Gwynedd Mercy’s 3-0 win over Cairn, Mosser had 12 kills while Saalfrank (18 digs) and Ashley Morris (Quakertown) (12 digs) led the defense. McTamney put up 29 assists. In the Griffins 3-0 win over Valley Forge, Mosser had 10 kills and Saalfrank had six aces to go along with her team-high 21 digs. In Gwynedd Mercy’s 3-2 loss to Clarks Summit, Mosser tallied 13 kills, eight digs, four aces and a block. Saalfrank had 31 of the team’s 88 digs.
Sophomore Grace Whitney (Abington) had 17 kills on 27 attempts with no errors in West Chester’s 3-2 loss at California University on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Stonehill, sophomore Julia Vreeswyk (Pennsbury) had 11 kills and Whitney had 10 kills. Sophomore Maddy Moore (Council Rock North) recorded five of her team’s eight service aces. In West Chester’s 3-1 win over Southern Connecticut, Moore had 12 digs.
Sophomore Bryn Stek (Upper Dublin) had a team high 10 assists in Bloomsburg’s 3-0 loss to Gannon University on Saturday. In Friday’s 3-0 loss at Edinboro, Sydney Buell (Pennsbury) led the Huskies with six kills, and Stek had a team high eight assists to go along with eight digs. In Bloomsburg’s 3-0 loss at Mercyhurst, Buell paced the Huskies with eight kills. Stek led the way with 14 assists. In the Huskies’ 3-0 loss to Davis & Elkins, Buell had six kills and three service aces and Stek had 20 assists. In a 3-1 loss to Alderson Broaddus, Stek had 12 assists and six digs. In Bloomsburg’s 3-1 win over Post University, Stek combined with freshman Brooke Kratzer for 30 assists, 12 digs and seven service aces. In the Huskies 3-1 loss to Saint Anselm, Stek had 16 assists.

Josh Yardley netted three goals as George Washington rolled to a 19-6 win at La Salle on Sunday. The 19th ranked Colonials burst out of the gate at Kirk Pool to build an 8-1 lead and cruised to a victory that improved their record to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They flashed their depth with 10 different goal scorers versus the Explorers. Yardley posted a career-high six points with three goals and three assists and also added a pair of field blocks.
