SOL Colonial Division
Central Bucks South 3, North Penn 1
CB South wrapped up the Colonial Division regular-season championship with a hard-fought win over visiting North Penn on Thursday night.
The Titans struck first, scoring early in the opening half and taking a 1-0 lead into the break. CB South added another goal in the second before North Penn quickly answered to cut the lead to one. The Knights continued to press, but the Titans stayed composed and eventually added a third goal to close out a 3-1 victory.
The Titans, who have now won three straight division titles, were led by Jackson Tait, who scored two goals. They currently sit in the No. 9 position in the District One Class 4A power rankings.
Scoring:
First Half –
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Ryan Burke
Second Half –
Felipe Sicard (CBS) from Devyn Ramos Salazar
Logan Bocklet (NP), penalty kick
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Devyn Ramos Salazar
CB South coach Ed Brnardic:
–The game: “We knew North Penn could be very dangerous in attack, so getting the first goal was important. I was thrilled with the way we started the match. About 10 minutes in, we won a loose ball and put together a 14-pass sequence. Leo Propato played a long ball that Ryan Burke redirected into the path of Jackson Tait. Jackson had a defender all over him, but he did a great job holding him off before finishing beautifully into the upper corner.
“Early in the second half, Jaxon Sauder anticipated a loose ball and sprinted back 20 yards to challenge for it. He won the ball and knocked it to Devyn Ramos Salazar, who played a perfect through ball into the diagonal run of Felipe Sicard. Felipe collected it with his left foot and, with his next touch, finished into the back of the net. It was a beautiful goal that started with great IQ, awareness, effort, and defensive work from Jaxon.
“At 2-0, we felt like we had control of the game, but a careless tripping foul resulted in a penalty. North Penn’s Logan Bocklet stepped up and buried it into the side netting. It was nearly impossible to stop. I seriously doubt his father Joe, who was a great goalkeeper himself, would have had much of a chance either.
“I was proud of the way our guys stayed calm and continued to play our game. With seven minutes remaining, sophomore Max Vollman stepped up to challenge a North Penn clearance at midfield and knocked the ball to Devyn. Devyn combined with Gavin Medwid on a nice one-two before delivering another slicing through ball to Jackson Tait, who buried his finish into the far corner for his 19th goal of the season.
“Other than allowing North Penn back into the game with the penalty, I was thrilled with the way we played. We scored three absolutely gorgeous goals, and this was probably our best overall performance of the season.
“Even better, the result secured the Colonial Division championship and gave the boys a chance to celebrate. With only one game over the next 10 days, we’ll now get some much-needed rest and recovery before heading into the playoffs.”
–Props: “Devyn Ramos Salazar had a monster game today. He didn’t look like himself early, so we took him out for a bit to let him reset. He responded in a big way, coming back into the match and becoming an engine for us in the midfield, connecting our defense to the attack and delivering two world-class through balls that led directly to goals.
“Man of the Match honors go to our entire defensive line. Leo Propato, Gavin Medwid, Evan Nguyen, and Vadym Sokol were outstanding. They needed to be against a dangerous North Penn attack, and several of them turned in some of their best performances of the season.”
North Penn coach Maurice Haye:
“The Knights continued to battle and create scoring opportunities throughout the game.
“North Penn’s goal came from captain Logan Bocklet, who converted a penalty kick after Matt Bakir was fouled by the goalkeeper inside the box. The Knights created plenty of chances to find the back of the net but just couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities.
“All season long, it has felt like we’ve been just an inch away from turning those chances into goals. While the results haven’t always gone our way, the effort, determination, and fight have remained.
“We will continue to work hard, learn from every game, and keep building a strong soccer program at North Penn. The foundation is being built through hard work, commitment, and the belief that better days are ahead.”
Next up: CB South (8-2-7, 7-1-1 SOL) is off until a road game at Pennridge Wednesday to wrap up the regular season. North Penn (5-9-2, 4-5 SOL) plays at Souderton on Wednesday.
North Penn 0 1 – 1
CB South 1 2 – 3
Central Bucks West 1, Souderton 0
Beck Walton’s goal in the 37th minute was the difference as CB West earned a huge late-season road win on Thursday, knocking off Souderton.
The Bucks are 26th in the latest district power rankings for the 28-team Class 4A while Souderton is 23rd.
Scoring:
First Half –
Beck Walton (CBW), 37th minute
CB West coach John Adair:
“First of all, I want to recognize Frank (Demas) and everyone at Souderton. Their staff, both as coaches and as a school, are always welcoming and lovely to work with. They truly do a terrific job for their program.
“I’m really proud of our team for how they’ve really come together after a difficult start to the season. It speaks volumes about their character as many of our boys had a similar experience last year and were able to turn the season around.
“We were really dangerous in moments, particularly in the first half and probably could’ve put more distance between us and made the game a bit more comfortable down the stretch, but that’s what these division games are all about sometimes.
“It wasn’t our best game in terms of dictating the terms of the game, but our guys defended bravely especially to close it out and pick up a really important win.”
–Props: “Our entire back line was terrific but especially after one of our center backs had to come off, Emad Bokhari, Dan Richmond, and Vlad Trusevich managed to do enough to keep another clean sheet.
“Our goalkeeper, Alex Abbasi, was terrific tonight. He made some big saves but more importantly, his leadership was really felt tonight when it was needed. He’s a kid I’ve known for a long time, even before he got to West, and I’m just so proud of the goalkeeper he’s become but more importantly the young man and leader he is still becoming.
“Everyone made contributions again tonight. Beck Walton’s hold up play was terrific all night, Erik Chelminski and Jan Lachacz covered so much ground in midfield, and Michael Rafalowski put on a really mature performance, knowing when to get forward and when to be a bit more responsible defensively and connected to his midfield.”
Souderton coach Frank Demas:
“Want to start by thanking our seniors and their families tonight. And everyone from the program who worked hard to make it a special night.
“Senior Night is always an emotional night for us all and that’s obviously not the result we wanted. I do need to commend our players tonight who never gave up and worked as hard as they could till the final whistle. Our defense and goalkeeper were strong all night. It was just one of those nights where the ball wouldn’t go in the goal. We had quite a few chances to get level tonight, especially in the last 20 minutes of the game but just couldn’t find an end product.
“This team will keep working and get ready to try and finish this regular season off strong next week.
“Credit to West who played a great game as well. Rafalowski was really good for West tonight. I think he covered every inch of that turf. Honestly, a good and hard played game from both teams.”
Next up: CB West (6-5-4, 4-3-2 SOL) has a non-league game at Pennsbury on Monday.
Souderton (9-5-2, 4-3-2 SOL) is off until a Wednesday night game against North Penn at home.
CB West 1 0 – 1
Souderton 0 0 – 0
Central Bucks East 3, Pennridge 0
A much-needed win put an exclamation point on Senior Night for CB East, which scored a 3-0 win over Pennridge on Thursday night.
“It was a pretty special Senior Night,” said Patriots coach Josh Isaacsohn. “All the seniors got to play. We had 10 field players, minus two (with) major injuries, so we had a ceremonial tap off to give Alden Iurato and Brendan Smith some respect, and then the seniors held their ground, held their own and played well. We saw some more
passing strings and some shots and just better teamwork all around.”
Scoring:
First Half –
Dustin Weber (CBE), 18th minute
Alex Bobeica (CBE) from David Steen, 35th minute
Second Half –
Alex Bobecia (CBE) from Luca Japes, 73rd minute
CB East coach Josh Isaacsohn:
“I felt we did well. I think we left two or three out there that we probably should have put in. Credit to Pennridge and especially their goalkeeper. He really did a good job back there tonight.
“But it was a good night for the seniors, and that’s really all we wanted. We came in tonight trying to take it one game at a time and just wanted this one to be for this really, really great group of kids.”
Next up: CB East (5-5-5, 4-3-2 SOL) has a non-league game at Notre Dame (N.J.) on Monday. The Patriots are 27th in the latest District 1 4A power rankings. Pennridge (1-12-2, 0-8-1 SOL) hosts Harry S. Truman on Monday.
Pennridge 0 0 – 0
CB East 2 1 – 3

Neshaminy 0, Council Rock North 0
Ties are nothing new for these two rivals, as Thursday, they settled for a scoreless tie in a game where the defenses shined.
Neshaminy (7) and CR North (4) have combined for 11 ties on the season, including against one another twice.
CR North assistant coach Brian Hoffman:
“It was a hard-fought defensive battle. I felt like Neshaminy’s work rate was phenomenal, and we came out kind of flat. We played 80 minutes, and they played 80 minutes as well.
“Our defense and goaltender nullified pretty much everything. I think (Elias) Berman had to make one or two really good saves, and if that’s all you give up in the course of 80 minutes, that’s pretty decent in my mind.
“We had two or three, maybe four good opportunities, but they definitely were able to neutralize a lot of the more positive things that we’ve done over the course of the season.”
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
“The first half was pretty even. I thought we had a couple of good chances, but we didn’t pull the trigger. Rock North is very direct, and they play a lot of long balls, and they like to force turnovers off their long balls when we head them out, so we had to deal with their counters. It kind of got a little sloppy going back and forth in the air. One team’s knocking it out, and the other team’s playing it back in. So, we had a couple of decent opportunities.
“At halftime, we talked to them: ‘Let’s get the ball on the floor, take them out of what they like to do. Let them be less direct.’
“Aside from not scoring, we played about as good a half of soccer as you can play. Rock North didn’t really generate any opportunities other than with about two minutes, they struck a 30-yard ball that just went over the crossbar, but other than that, they didn’t have any really good looks at our goal, so I was super pleased with our defense. They really did a nice job.
“It’s the third straight game that we’ve barely given a team a good shot at our goal, so that’s the positive. This is our third straight shutout, and they were solid shutouts. We have to be a little bit more selfish. We had a couple of guys in prime spots where if they pulled the trigger – you never know what happens, but they’re being unselfish and trying to get somebody else on the end of it. Maybe if they take those shots, they score. Who knows? But you never know unless you shoot, so we just need to be a little more selfish in some of those situations, but overall, outstanding.”
–Props: “Our back line of Jake Fallon, Dean Goodwin, Nick Indellicato and Connor Choi were absolutely outstanding, and Stephen Buczek, for a third straight game, was an absolute monster in the midfield for us, winning just about every 50-50 ball and getting us in motion and getting us back up the field. He’s been outstanding the last three games.”
Next up: CR North (8-2-4, 4-1-4 SOL) will host New Foundation in a non-league game Monday when the Indians will celebrate Senior Night. Rock North will have a night game at Pennsbury to close out the regular season. Neshaminy (6-4-7, 3-2-4 SOL) hosts Archbishop Wood in a non-league game on Saturday. Rock North is seventh in the latest District 1 4A power rankings while Neshaminy is 16th.
Neshaminy 0 0 – 0
CR North 0 0 – 0
Council Rock South 2, Harry S Truman 2
Needing wins to keep their playoff hopes alive, CR South ran up against a determined Truman team, and the two teams ended with a 2-2 tie on Thursday afternoon.
Senior captain Justin Torres scored two goals for Truman. Bryan Hyams scored twice for the Golden Hawks.
Scoring:
First Half –
Brian Hyams (CRS) from Alex Abreu
Justin Torres (HST) from Landon Lopez
Second Half –
Justin Torres (HST)
Brian Hyams (CRS) from Michael Elko
CR South coach Alan Nicholl:
“Truman came in with a game plan and executed it perfectly and were well deserving of the result, scoring on the only 2 shots they took. They made the field very tight and made us uncomfortable throughout.
“We missed entirely too many chances and were victims of the counterattack which cost us today. We scored with under five minutes to play to tie it at 2 and salvage a point. Truthfully, we were fortunate not to lose, as outshooting an opponent counts for very little at the end of the day.”
Truman coach Rob Brown:
–The game: “Playing without another senior captain lost to injury after the previous match, the Tigers received a much-needed boost with Torres returning to the pitch. Despite conceding the match’s opening goal, Truman’s composure held steady as the team built a late first-half response.
“The comeback began out of the backline when Landon Lopez received a transition pass and launched a ball up the sideline to Torres. Torres controlled the feed, cut inside his defender, and fired a low strike inside the near post to knot the match at 1-1 entering halftime.
“Truman pressured again in the second half. Center back Josh Jimenez anchored the defense and set up the go-ahead score, serving a free kick into Torres at the edge of the box. With his back to the net, Torres turned his defender and snapped a quick shot into the upper corner to give Truman a 2-1 lead.
“South answered late in the half, capitalizing on a defensive miscommunication to score the equalizer. Truman repelled South’s remaining pressure and nearly captured the full three points on a late breakaway chance before time expired.
“Truman will wrap up its season with a three-match slate next week, where the program will honor the 11 graduating members of its Class of 2027.”
–Props: “Goalkeeper Joey Tizol delivered another steady performance between the posts, while Jimenez turned in a standout effort on the backline. Midfielder Ali Toe provided a vital second-half spark after returning from an early first-half substitution, highlighting a complete team performance.”
Next up: CR South (5-9-2, 2-5-3 SOL) has a non-league game scheduled Tuesday against Garnet Valley. Truman (2-10-1, 0-8-1 SOL) has a non-league game at Pennridge Monday.
CR South 1 1 – 2

“The second goal of the game came from some great attacking play from senior Brennan Ewer. Brennan back-heeled the ball to Sean Westmoreland who delivered a great cross into the box to Jaza who headed the ball to the back post with a great header for our second goal of the game.
“The third goal of the game came when Jaza beat his defender one V one on the right wing and served a great cross to the back post that senior Owen Gesing headed home for our third goal of the game.
“About 10 minutes into the second half we scored our final goal of the game. Senior Brennan Ewer played a low cross into the box that Jaza got on the end of before laying the ball off to senior Samuel Arruda. Sam took a shot from the top of the box that was saved well by the Upper Dublin goalkeeper, but the ball landed at the feet of senior Kyle Kretschman who finished our fourth and final goal of the day.
“Abington now sits as one of the top teams in district one with a record of (10-1-5), and only one loss to Council Rock North. With today’s game, Abington clinched the Liberty Division, as we now sit five points above second-place Wissahickon with only one game to play.
“Abington boys soccer has now repeated as champions of the (division) for seven years in a row. The last time someone else won the league was in 2019 when we finished second to Hatboro-Horsham.
“The vibes are really good around the team after these past two wins and we are hoping to carry this momentum into the district playoffs.”

A couple of late goals from Braden Vorchheimer assisted by Tyler Philip and Paolo Seponara-Sills assisted by Braydon Dehner sealed the win.”
PW coach Toni Washington:
“We played a great match up until about 15 minutes left to play. We competed. It was an even match 0-0 until a nice counterattack breakaway cross back post goal. Then, we answered from a corner from Dom Marcella to Finn Lafferty for a one-time finish header.
‘They have chances, we have chances, and then a wicked goal from about 35 yards from a defender, unfortunately, deflated us and we gave up two more on set pieces for a final 4-1.

“Zach now has his second game-winning goal of the week, so we’re extremely proud of how he’s stepped up when we needed it most. There are a lot of unsung heroes in this game and this season as a whole. It often takes more than just 11 guys to find success.
