“We were down 1-0 at the half, but it could’ve been more,” Pennsbury coach Tom Stoddart said. “We scored the equalizer with 1:13 seconds – Ajnur Curevac from Sam Awadalla, and we found game winner from San Awadalla with just 11 seconds to go on a restart served into the box from midfield.”

–Props: “James Purdum, our goalkeeper, made some great saves, especially in first half to keep us in the game. Our backline of Connor Scalia, PJ. McGroaty, Gabe Allegro, John Morris, Vicktor Capizzi and Graham Anders stood tough in first 40 and did a tremendous job of moving the line forward to reset the field in the second half to provide more opportunities for our midfield and attackers to find the opponent’s goal.”

Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
“We told the boys before the game that Wood was coming off a game against Judge, which was a meaningful Catholic League game, so we knew they’d probably be a little tired, so we wanted to jump on them right away, and true enough, we got the first goal in the first four minutes of the game.
“It was a scramble off a corner. David kept it alive, and it squirted to Gorgi, and he buried it. It was right on the doorstep, so he took care of business.
“In the first half, we created some chances, and for the first time all year, we actually connected on a long throw. Connor threw it, and Stephan Buczek headed it in. It was a really, really nice goal.
“The second half was more of the same. We really didn’t get any clean looks at the goal. We got two more goals and saw it out. We were able to get everybody on the bench for at least 10-12 minutes. So all in all, it was a good, solid effort by the group, and hopefully, we can keep carrying on through next week into the playoffs.”
Up next: Neshaminy will host Harry S Truman on Wednesday.
