SOL Non-league crossover
Council Rock North 2, Central Bucks West 0
It had been a while between wins for a Rock North squad that opened its season with a dazzling 6-0-1 record through seven games. Ten days had elapsed since the Indians defeated Pennsbury 3-0 but then endured an 0-2-1 stretch that came to a welcome end with Saturday’s win.
“Very happy to get a win today,” Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan said. “We’ve had a tough run recently where we just haven’t scored, and the group has been working extremely hard to get over that hurdle. I give the girls a lot of credit today in overcoming that and competing against a tough CB West group. “
Neither team scored in the first half, but that scoring drought ended when Sarina Igval scored to cap a strong passing sequence. A breakaway goal by Isabel Diaz later in the half gave the Indians their final margin of victory.

Council Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan:
–The game: “I thought we had the better of the play throughout the game but couldn’t find a way to score in the first half. At half time we felt that we just needed to continue what we were doing and a goal would come, luckily for us ,some really good interplay between Keagan
Terry, Isabel Diaz and Sarina Igval ended with Sarina slotting one home.
“West continued to compete, and the game was more even. I think we got fortunate with a bounce on a long ball and Isabel Diaz scored on a breakaway.”
–Props: “Really proud of the whole group today. We had a couple of injuries and illnesses crop up and a lot of girls stepped up. I thought Cierra Frank was excellent in the back, and Isabel Diaz did a great job further up the field.”
Up next: Council Rock North will travel to William Tennent for a non-league SOL crossover game Tuesday, and Central Bucks West will host Quakertown on Tuesday (7pm).
