Non-league
NORTH PENN 4, PRAIRIE VIEW (CO) 3
The Knights displayed a flair for the dramatic, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win in Monday’s non-league opener in Vero Beach, Fla.
Brady Dolder led off the seventh with a double to left, and Ryan Brown followed and drew a walk. Jeremiah Criger laid down a sacrifice bunt that was misplayed, allowing Dolder to score and pulling the Knights to within one. An error on Justin Egner’s fly ball to right field allowed Brown to race home with the tying run, and that set the stage for Jack Picozzi, who crushed a ball over the center fielder’s head to plate the game-winner.
Early on, the Thunderhawks scored a single run in the first and added two more in the second to go on top 3-0, but the Knights got one of those runs back in the bottom of the second. Ben Farley lined a double to left to open the inning, and he scored when James Mangine grounded a single to right. That 3-1 score stood until the bottom of the seventh.
Leading the Knights’ 10-hit attack were Egner (2-for-4), Picozzi (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) and Farley (2-for-3, 2B, R). Chase Jones was 1-for-3 with a double.
Trevor Lugara notched the win on the mound, allowing just one hit while striking out one and walking none in 3.1 shutout innings in relief.

WISSAHICKON 16, GREENLAND HS (AR) 1 (5 innings)
The Trojans capped a successful trip to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando with a rout of Greenland High School in a contest that saw the mercy rule go into effect.
In the top of the first, the Trojans put four runs on the board. Jack O’Donnell lined a one-out single to center, and Justin Miller followed with a single. A walk to Shane Henrick loaded the bases for Kasey Weiss, who drew a walk that pushed the game’s first run across. Finn Olszewski’s lined a double to left that emptied the bases and put the Trojans on top 4-0.
The fun was just starting for the Trojans, who scored in every inning of the abbreviated contest.
Tyler Schilling (2-for-2, 3 RBIs, 2R), Adam Hajdak (2-for-2, RBI, 2R) and Josh Stonesifer (2-for-3) led the Trojans’ 16-hit attack. Dan McGarry doubled, and Brayden Ryan hit a three-run triple to center in the top of the fifth to put the finishing touches on the win.
Also contributing one RBI was Jarrett Federer.
Jack Pogue earned the starting nod and notched the win. He did not allow a hit in two scoreless innings, striking out one and walking one. Noah Okenquist threw a scoreless third inning, and Gavin Malloy closed it out, allowing one hit and one run (unearned) while striking out three and walking one.

DOCK MENNONITE 7, PENNRIDGE 4
The Rams found themselves in an early 2-0 hole after one inning and fell behind 7-0 before staging a two-out rally and erupting for four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Ashton McCloskey and Ryan Hass led off the seventh with back-to-back singles. One out later, Matt Atchley drew a walk to load the bases, and it looked as though the visiting Pioneers might escaped unscathed when the second out was recorded on a fly ball to center, but the Rams didn’t go down quietly.
Hass scored on a passed ball, and Ryder Olson drew a walk to reload the bases. Nick Leight delivered a two-run single to right, and then Garrett Navitsky singled home a run, but that’s where the rally ended.
Matt Gunning started and absorbed the loss. John Moyer threw 1.1 shutout innings to close out the game.

UPPER MORELAND 8, THE HILL SCHOOL 4
The Golden Bears took a 3-1 lead with a pair of runs in the second inning and never looked back in Sunday’s non-league contest to cap the UM’s spring training trip to Orlando.
UM scored an unearned run in the top of the first only to watch The Hill School get that run back in the bottom of the inning. In the second inning, Colin Fell drew a walk and Paul Meyers singled, setting the stage for Shawn Townsend’s clutch two-out, two-run single that put the Bears on top 3-1.
In the top of the fifth, the Golden Bears plated four runs despite collecting just one hit, a leadoff single by Patrick Kilgus. UM – which had only four hits in the game – benefitted from three walks and a costly two-out error in the four-run uprising.
Townsend’s 2-for-4 effort out of the leadoff spot led the Golden Bears.
Jimmy Torpey threw six strong innings to notch the win, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out 11 and walking none.
Upper Moreland (1-0) will travel to Friends Central for a non-league game Wednesday.
