Hatboro-Horsham and Pennsbury both notched a pair of wins. Quakertown won a single game. Check out the recaps.
HATBORO-HORSHAM 6, FRANKLIN MONROE 3
The Hatters improved to 2-0 on the season behind a strong complete game effort from junior starting pitcher Eric Thron. It was the second complete game outing in as many days for the Hatters.
Thron struck out 12 while walking just one and allowing only four hits in a dominating performance. He retired 15 of the last 16 batters that he faced with the only batter who reached base coming on an error.
Franklin Monroe led 3-2 heading into the fifth when the Hatters plated a pair of runs. Anthony Bruno’s RBI double accounted for one of those runs.
The Hatters’ offense was led by junior catcher Bruno, who went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two RBIs and a walk. Senior third baseman Sean Gledhill and junior DH Benny Wilson each collected two hits. Bradan Mallon added double.
The win improved the Hatters record to 2-0.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 4, WEST GEAUGA 2
The Hatters won their second game of the day on Saturday with a 4-2 victory over West Geauga (OH). Senior right fielder Ethan Ridgway came with a big two-out, two-RBI single in the fifth inning to give the Hatters the 4-2 lead and their bullpen ensured that that was enough to preserve the win.
Junior Ram Krishnamoorthy struck out the side in the sixth inning and sophomore closer Jimmy Tooley pitched a perfect seventh inning to close it out.
Junior DH Eric Thron was 2-for-3 for the Hatters.
The win improved the Hatters overall record to 3-0. They have a scrimmage scheduled to be played on Monday at 3:30 against Grayslake North (IL) in ESPN's Wide World of Sports Champion Stadium, spring training home for the Atlanta Braves.

PENNSBURY 9, PICKERINGTON NORTH 2
The Falcons erased a 2-0 deficit with a three-run third inning that was highlighted by RBI singles from Drew Hensor and Sean Doherty. They added a single run in the fourth and put the game out of reach with five runs in the fifth. Sam Spadea, Justin Fogel and Doherty each had RBIs in the frame.
Leading the Falcons’ attack was Fogel, who was 3-for-4 effort with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Hensor was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Doherty also had a pair of RBIs.
Sean Hochhausler notched the win with 1.2 scoreless innings. He did not allow a hit.

PENNSBURY 8, CENTRAL CATHOLIC (Pittsburgh) 5
The Falcons won their second game of the day and will leave Myrtle Beach with a 2-0 record.
Pennsbury scored a pair of runs in the first, but Central Catholic scored four unanswered runs to go on top 4-2. The Falcons scored a single run in the fourth and knotted the score in the fifth when Drew Hensor doubled home the tying run.
A four-run sixth gave the Falcons a lead they would not lose.
Shane Martin (2-for-5, 2B, RBI), Sam Ruta (2-for-4, 2B, RBI, 2 runs), Sam Spadea (2-for-3, RBI, run) and Hensor (2-for-2, 2B, 2 RBIs, run) led the Falcons’ 10-hit attack. Justin Fogel and Sean Doherty each added one RBI.
Pennsbury will host Central Bucks South in a non-league game on Tuesday.

QUAKERTOWN 11, ALLENTOWN CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1
The Panthers erupted for five runs in the top of the first inning and added five more in the fourth on their way to the mercy rule win in Saturday’s non-league opener. Despite the lopsided scored, the Panthers held just a 4-3 edge in hits.
Cody Barberio and Trevor Hurst both contributed a double. Mason Hicks, Justin Butler and Brad Bryan each had one RBI.
Quakertown (1-0) will host Perkiomen School for a non-league game on Tuesday.
