PENNSBURY 15, BENSALEM 3 (6 innings)
Keller Bradley did not allow a hit in three shutout innings. The Falcons’ ace struck out eight in a winning effort.
The Falcons’ bats were alive from the outset.
In the top of the first, Carlton Crane led off with a single and Pierce Perry followed with his first of four hits on the day – a single. A walk to Brendan Zuckerman loaded the bases, setting the stage for a two-run single by Tyler Lee. With two outs, Danny Seidler lofted a. two-run home run to right field, and the Falcons led 4-0.
That was just the beginning of a productive day for the Falcons, who pounded out 13 hits. While Perry’s four-hit effort led the way, Crane had three hits.
By the numbers: Pennsbury: Pierce Perry (4-for-4, 2 2B, 5R), Carlton Crane (3-for-4, 2 2B, 2 RBIs, 3R), Brendan Zuckerman (2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBIs, 3R), Tyler Lee (2-for-3, 3RBIs), Zach McLean (1-for-1, 3B, 2RBIs), Danny Seidler (1-for-2, HR, 2RBIs, 1R)
Keller Bradley (W) (3.0 IP, 0H, 0R, 4BB, 8K)
Bensalem: Peter Pasquarella (2-for-2, 2B, 1R), Landin Smith (2-for-2, 2B, 1RBI, 1R), Matt Dougherty (1-for-2, 2B, 1R)
Pennsbury coach Joe Pesci:
–Bradley finds his groove: “Keller’s first inning was a bit uncharacteristic with three walks, but he had two strikeouts to get out unscathed. He struck out six of the next seven batters he faced and finished with eight strikeouts in three innings. It felt good to give him a big lead to pitch with as he was on the losing end of a couple games last year due to lack of run support.”
–Falcons on the attack: “The story of the day has to be 13 hits on the day, including seven extra base hits including five doubles, a triple, and home run.
“Twelve of our 13 hits and 10 of our RBIs came from the first four spots in our lineup. Carlton Crane was 3-for-4 with two doubles, Pierce Perry was 4-for-4 with two doubles, Brendan Zuckerman was 2-for-3 with a double, Zach McLean had a pinch-hit triple, and Ty Lee was 2-for-3. Not to mention Danny Seidler with the two-run HR out of the six hole.
“We took advantage of 10 walks, four HBP and only struck out three times.
“We got 18 kids in the lineup today. It feels good to go up big and be able to get kids opportunities. The whole roster got a lot of game action down in Myrtle, and that isn’t always going to be the case in our competitive league play. So, to be able to have any type of Varsity game action is valuable.”
Up next: Pennsbury will host Bensalem in game two of the three-game series Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2, CHELTENHAM 1
Pitching was the name of the game in Wednesday’s non-league crossover.
The two teams combined for just four hits with the Bucks accounting for three of those. Jacob Greer and Stephen Verdolini combined on a one-hitter for the Bucks.
The Bucks plated their only two runs in the bottom of the sixth without the benefit of a hit, capitalizing on three walks with both runners scoring on passed balls.
Emile Chanoine cut the Bucks lead in half when he ripped a solo home run to left field to lead off the top of the sixth. That would be the extent of the scoring for both sides.
Eamon Ivory and Sean Trainor were solid in the circle for the Panthers,

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 5, SOUDERTON 1
Four PW pitchers combined to allow just five hits and one run in Wednesday’s non-league crossover.
The Colonials put a run on the board in the third inning when Michael Bongard, who drew a one-out walk, scored on a wild pitch.
Souderton evened the score in the top of the fifth with one swing of the bat when Coleson Hoffman lined a solo home run to left field.
PW won it with a four-run bottom of the fifth that was highlighted by a two-run double by Brody Stump. Dominic Criscuolo delivered a sacrifice fly in the inning, and a run crossed the plate on a bases-loaded walk.
Stump accounted for four of his team’s five hits.

Souderton: Coleson Hoffman (2-for-2, 2B, HR, 1RBI, 1R), Evan Divens (1-for-2, 2B), Johnny Byrwa (1-for-2, 2B)
Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Chris Manero:
–The game: “We went into today with a plan to use a lot of guys on the mound, and we really liked how they all went out there and threw a lot of strikes. As we get into series play for our division games, knowing we have options with our pitching is helpful.
“We faced a very good arm today in Lutz, so knowing that runs would be hard to get, it was important that we didn’t give up a lead early. I thought we did a lot of things right defensively to make that happen.
–Stump delivers: “Brody Stump had four of our five hits and has been on an absolutely torrid pace out of the gate this season. We like the balance we have in our lineup, but sometimes a guy just puts everyone on his back. Brody was certainly willing to be that guy today.”
Up next: Plymouth Whitemarsh will travel to Upper Dublin Friday for the first game of its three-game set. Souderton will host Dock Mennonite in a non-league game Friday.
