SOL Patriot/Colonial crossover
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
Luke Hillegass was superb on the mound in Tuesday’s crossover game, tossing a complete game one-hit shutout, and the Titans – after winning just once in their first six games – won for the second time in 24 hours. Wednesday’s win came on the heels of Tuesday’s 6-5 win over Council Rock North.
“Putting together back-to-back quality wins like we just did is huge,” South coach Kevin Bray said. “Momentum is everything going into next week. This was a really solid win by our guys to end the week on a positive note and string a couple wins together.
“It was a really impressive outing by Luke. He dominated. From the jump, we knew he could potentially have a special day on the mound for us. He was around the plate all day, had command of his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was really exploding through the zone. It was a really solid effort by him.
“Also, Jake Ruddell behind the plate and our pitching coach Dave Jensht really called a nice game for Luke.
Hillegass struck out eight and walked five. The Golden Hawks collected their only hit with two outs in the fifth when Sam Serpiello singled.
The Titans managed just three hits of their own off Rock South ace Mason Curtier but manufactured three runs. They got on the board in the bottom of the first when Colin Flynn, who lined a one-out single to right, stole second and scored from second on a passed ball.
“That was an exciting play,” Bray said. “Colin got a great jump on a dirt ball read from second base. The ball went straight up in the air to the backstop, and he has the speed to make that turn, and he ended up scoring a big run for us.”
The Titans added a pair of unearned runs in the third without collecting a hit, and that 3-0 score stood the rest of the way.
The Titans are hoping to ride the momentum of their back-to-back wins into a three-game week next week.
“We’ve been in a lot of games early on in the season,” Bray said. “Our message to our guys was – maintain focus and good things will happen. Things have worked out for us the last two days.
“We don’t want to get too excited, but we feel pretty good about the way we’re playing right now, and the guys should. They have dedicated a lot of time and effort into this thing so far, and they reaped the rewards yesterday and today.”

HATBORO-HORSHAM 5, CARDINAL O’HARA 3
The Hatters broke a 2-2 tie with a three-run fifth and then held on for the non-league road win.
“We got solid pitching from Shane Mills and played solid defense, turning two double plays while having good at-bats and capitalizing several times to score the runs needed to get the victory,” H-H coach Bill DeBoer said.
Mills notched the win, allowing six hits and three runs – only one earned – while striking out five and walking two. Chris Herrera threw a scoreless inning in relief, striking out five.
The Hatters put a pair of runs on the board in the top of the first. With one out, Cole Reinheimer was hit by a pitch, and he scored when Dom Rapino ripped a double to center field. Conner Cataldi followed and drew a walk, and with two outs, Herrera delivered an RBI single.
The Lions evened the score with single runs in the bottom of the first and second, but the Hatters took a lead they would not lose with a three-run fifth. With one out, Rapino singled, and Cataldi drew his second walk of the game. A two-out walk to Herrera loaded the bases for Brendan Craven, who singled home a pair. A bases-loaded walk to Matt Jasper gave the Hatters a 5-2 lead, and they held on for the win.
Rapino’s 2-for-4 day at the plate led the Hatters and included a double, RBI and two runs scored.
The Hatters collected just four hits but benefitted from eight free passes.
Hatboro-Horsham (4-4, 3-4 SOL) will travel to Springfield Twp Thursday for a crossover game.

HOLY GHOST PREP 7, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0
The Bucks celebrated Senior Day prior to Wednesday’s non-league game.
There wasn’t a whole lot to celebrate when the game started as Justin Lucas and Tom McGinley stymied the Bucks’ offense, combining for a four-hit shutout.
Lucas notched the win, allowing four hits while striking out 10 and walking one in five innings. Tom McGinley did not allow a hit in two shutout innings, striking out a pair.
Central Bucks West (3-5, 2-4 SOL) will be on the road at Bensalem for a crossover game Thursday.
