CR South & Pennridge were winners in SOL baseball action Wednesday.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 8, WILLIAM TENNENT 6 (9 innings)
It took nine innings to determine a winner in Wednesday’s conference battle. It looked like the Golden Hawks might win it in the eighth when Emilio Pallante, who singled, scored on a sacrifice fly by Jared Ennis. The Panthers were down to their final out in the bottom of the inning but benefitted from an error to score the equalizer.
The Hawks made sure there would be no comebacks in the ninth when they plated four runs – all with two outs. Three consecutive walks set the stage for an RBI single by Trey Obarowski. Luke Gregory’s three-run double sent the Golden Hawks into the bottom of the ninth with an 8-4 lead. The Panthers didn’t go down quietly, scoring a pair, but they would get no closer.
“It was a great team win,” coach Ted Kirner said. “We used five pitchers and combined for 13 strikeouts.
“We battled out of jams and got key hits we have been looking for all season.”
Pallante (3-for-4, 3 runs), Obarowski (3-for-5, 2 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) and Gregory (2-for-3, 2 2B, 3 RBIs, run) were a combined 8-for-12 at the top of the lineup. Jared Ennis doubled and drove in three runs.
For the Panthers, Xavier Delgado’s 3-for-5 effort included a double and run scored. Kip Mooney was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Nick Meltzer was 2-for-5, with two RBIs.
Council Rock South (3-6, 2-4 SOL) will travel to Neshaminy on Thursday, and William Tennent (4-6, 2-5) will host Bensalem on Thursday.

Non-league
PENNRIDGE 3, PALISADES 2
Hits were at a premium for both sides in Wednesday’s non-league contest, but after the visiting Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, the Rams answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Derek Morgan’s RBI single knotted the score 1-1, and Hayden Maltby added a two-run single to give the Rams a 3-1 lead. Palisades pulled to within one in the sixth, but the Rams held on for the win.
Carson Wells earned the win, allowing two hits while striking out six in four scoreless innings.
Pennridge (4-7, 0-6 SOL) will travel to Quakertown Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest.
