NESHAMINY 7, WILLIAM PENN CHARTER 4
The Redskins notched their fifth win in as many games, turning in yet another strong showing in Saturday’s non-league win.
Penn Charter got on the scoreboard with a run in the bottom of the first inning. The Redskins answered with two in the top of the second. RJ Christie and Matt Yauger drew back-to-back walks to open the inning, and after a double steal, Maguire Fein delivered a one-out single to right, plating a pair of runs and giving the Redskins a 2-1 lead.
That advantage grew to 4-1 in the third. Once again the inning started with a walk, this time to leadoff batter Gus Natelli. Cory Joyce, Joe Kaleck (RBI) and Dalton Turner (RBI) followed with back-to-back-to-back singles.
The host team pulled to within two after scoring a single run in the bottom of the inning, but the Redskins staged a two-out rally in the fourth and scored three runs to go on top 7-2.
Tommy Pease drew a leadoff walk, and once again the Redskins made it hurt. With two outs, Joyce drew a walk, and Kaleck followed with an RBI single. Turner drew the third walk of the inning, and Christie lined a double to right field to plate a pair.
Kaleck led the Redskins with a 2-for-4 effort that included a pair of RBIs and a run scored. Joyce was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Christie was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Turner was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Fein was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Four pitchers saw action for the Redskins. Dan Errigo, who did not allow a run in two innings, earned the win. He struck out four and walked one. Max Temple was credited with the save, allowing five hits and one run in 3.2 innings in relief.
Neshaminy (5-0, 3-0 SOL) will host Council Rock North on Tuesday.

The Tigers opened up a 6-0 lead after four innings and held on for the non-league win. They wasted little time before getting on the scoreboard, capitalizing on a leadoff walk to Evan Profy in the first. Noah Helbling’s RBI double highlighted the inning.
Truman tacked on a run on the third when Joey Wright drew a bases-loaded walk to plate Profy, who singled to open the frame.
In a three-run fourth, Chris Lewis, Christian Culver and Profy opened the inning with consecutive singles. Bases-loaded walks pushed two runs across and the third came home on a wild pitch.
Lewis led the Tigers with a 3-for-3 effort that included a double and a run scored. Profy was 2-for-3 out of the leadoff spot and scored three runs. Helbling was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
Harry S Truman (2-2, 1-1 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks West for a non-league game Wednesday.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 11, PENNSBURY 9
The Falcons and Vikings combined for 27 hits and 20 runs in an old-fashioned slugfest.
It was the Falcons getting on the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. Shane Marlin doubled to lead off the inning, and Sam Ruta drew a base on balls. Both runners advanced on Justin Massielo’s sacrifice bunt, and both scored when Sam Spadea singled.
The Vikings answered with three runs in the second, and the scoring never stopped. The Vikings led 4-2 heading into the fourth when the Falcons rallied to knot the score, benefitting from a pair of walks as well as an RBI single by Ruta.
A five-run fifth put the Falcons on top 9-5. Highlights of the inning were singles by RJ Huth, Ethan Karel, Drew Hensor (RBI) and Sean Doherty (RBI) as well as an RBI double by Marlin.
A five-run seventh won it for the Vikings.
The Falcons’ 13-hit attack was led by Marlin (2-for-5, 2 2B, 2 RBIs), Spadea (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), Karel (2-for-3, 2 runs) and Hensor (2-for-2, 2B, RBI, 2 runs). Ruta had a pair of RBIs.
Seven pitchers saw action for the Falcons.
Pennsbury (5-2, 2-0 SOL) will be on the road at William Tennent on Tuesday.

In a non-league contest that saw coach Dennis Primavera get a look at numerous player, Max Perry had himself a big day, finishing a perfect 5-for-5 with a triple. Tyler Borowiec was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
On the mound, Kevin Keown notched the win.
Springfield Township (2-2, 1-2 SOL) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday.

The weather on Friday may have been dreary, but the glittering performances of pitchers Peter Johnson and Karan Acharya went a long way toward brightening the dismal day. The duo – unbeknownst to everyone until after the game – combined to toss a no-hitter.
“We all got on the bus, and we were just excited about the win,” said coach Ed Wall, whose team swept its home and away series with the Ghosts. “Someone said, ‘Pete, I don’t think you gave up a hit.’
“We didn’t know it was a no-hitter until we got on the bus. That’s how much everyone was into the team part of it and into the moment. It was cool but weird at the same time because usually that is something everyone notices and you just don’t say anything about it. It was a great realization afterwards, and we all celebrated and had a good time with that.”
Johnson threw five-and-a-third shutout innings, striking out eight and walking four
“Pete Johnson did a good job today,” Wall said. “He started off five out of the six innings that he started – he started out with a strikeout. When you get the leadoff guy out in an inning, it makes life a lot easier.
“He took that to heart – we’ve been preaching that quite a bit. He’s continuously gotten better every time out. We’re creating competition in our pitching rotation, which is awesome.”
Last season, Johnson was used in a middle relief role.
“We ended up having guys like Garrett Breslin and Ryan Besachio who last year could throw seven innings, and they always kept us close in the games, so the middle relief spot didn’t really play well for us,” Wall said. “Pete’ss been working really hard on his own, and it’s starting to really show and pay off for him, and I’m really proud.”
Johnson was lifted after throwing 88 pitches with one out in the sixth.
“His pitch count got up there a little bit, being a tight game,” Wall said. “He was doing really well. We had (Karan) Acharya ready to go. He was feeling really good.
“We brought him in and he took care of business. He came in and threw three strikeouts in the seventh.”
Acharya threw one-and-two-thirds shutout innings. He fanned three and walked one.
Wall also credited catcher Alex Goldenberg.
“So far, he’s caught five guys stealing, and he picked another guy off,” the Flying Cardinals’ coach said. “He’s just been really doing a great job, and he had a big caught stealing in the sixth inning for the third out in the inning today.
“They had a guy on, and they hadn’t had a lot of guys on all day. It was a huge momentum swing going into the seventh inning, and it really helped us slam the door.”
The Flying Cardinals put a run on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning without the benefit of a hit. Jacob Womelsdorf drew a leadoff walk, and one out later, Alex Goldenberg was hit by a pitch. An errant throw on a steal allowed Womelsdorf to cross the plate.
In the top of the seventh, the Cardinals added an insurance run. Brian McPeak drew a two-out walk, and Acharya singled. A walk to Jarrod Matz loaded the bases, and UD scored its second run when Womelsdorf drew a bases-loaded walk.
Upper Dublin (5-1, 4-0 SOL) will host Quakertown in a non-league game Monday, and Abington (1-3, 2-4) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday.
