HATBORO-HORSHAM 4, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
Hatboro-Horsham junior RHP Brian Edgington was in complete command, tossing a one-hit complete game shutout to lead the Hatters to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Patriots. Edgington racked up eight strikeouts while walking just two hitters.
"Brian was outstanding," coach Pete Moore. "He helped us both on the mound and at the plate. He was at 72 pitches after four innings, and we didn't think there was any way he could give us a complete game at that point, but then he made it through the last three innings in just 31 pitches to finish the game with 103.
"We have been truly lucky to have two aces this year with Edge and Colin Kennedy."
The Hatters got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kyle Katz reached base on an error, and Colin Kennedy bunted him over to second. Shaun Thomas hit a grounder to short, and an errant throw trying to get Katz as he moved up to third allowed Katz to score and Thomas to move up to second. Courtesy runner Sean Orr scored on a single by Edgington to give the Hatters a 2-0 lead.
The Hatters extended the lead with two runs in the home half of the sixth. Kennedy led off with a single and advanced to second on a bunt by Thomas. Junior shortstop Ryan O’Donnell (3-for-3) singled home Kennedy. O’Donnell advanced to third on a single by Jarrett Prendergast and scored on a squeeze by Edgington.
Edgington finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.
PJ Harris accounted for East’s only hit of the game.
The Hatters (4-3 Overall, 2-1 SOL Continental) will travel to Quakertown on Tuesday, and Central Bucks East (1-3, 0-3) will host Wissahickon in a non-league game Monday.

NORTH PENN 4, QUAKERTOWN 2
The Knights suffered through an uncharacteristically shaky defensive performance but still pulled out the win, thanks to the combined effort of Jared Gorman and Dan Kirwin on the mound. Gorman, who earned the win, allowed just one hit and two runs (both unearned) in 5.2 innings, striking out three and walking three. Kirwin did not allow a hit in 1.2 innings of relief.
The Panthers plated a run in the top of the first, but the Knights got that back in their half of the second. Mason Nadeau’s RBI triple highlighted a three-run third inning for the Knights and put the home team on top 4-1 before the Panthers tacked on a run in the fourth.
Nadeau turned in the only multi-hit effort for either team, finishing the day 2-for-4 with a triple, RBI and run scored. Jake Schuster and Matt Marino both singled and drove in a run. Alex Peterson and Kadar Namey each had a double to account for the game’s only extra base hits.
Cooper Johnson absorbed the loss for the Panthers. Matt Bukavich, who had Quakertown’s only hit, did not allow a hit in 1.2 scoreless innings to close out the game. He fanned a pair.

NORRISTOWN 12, UPPER MERION 1 (5 innings)
The Eagles put their first five runners on board in the bottom of the first inning. All five scored, and the tone had been set in Friday’s no-doubt-about-it win in an abbreviated five-inning contest.
“Our offense set the tone, and that was our goal – to jump on them early,” coach Rich Campbell said. “We knew we weren’t going against (Jarrett) Quinn, who’s been their ace, so we wanted to jump on them early and get them down and then just keep them there. That’s what the guys were able to do. It makes it a lot easier to pitch.”
Tom Detweiler’s double plated the first run of the inning. Terell Dale followed Detwiler’s lead, roping a two-run double. Nick Whitley added a two-out RBI single to close out the frame.
The Eagles added a single run in the second and blew the game wide open with a six-run third to go on top 12-0 before the Vikings plated a run in the fourth.
Detwiler finished a big day at the plate 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored. Whitley was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Ray Scheier’s 2-for-3 effort led the Vikings’ six-hit attack
Freshman Dom Proietto, who notched the win, was impressive on the mound in his third start of the season.
“He’s done a really good job,” Campbell said. “We’ve been trying to limit his innings. He pitched three innings last week in our 12-1 win against Academy Park in a non-league game.
“He pitched four today and gave up one run. He pitched in our opener against Bensalem, and he gave up four unearned runs and only two earned. He had a little bit of shaky fielding behind him.
“He’s a strike thrower – he makes the hitters hit. We’re playing pretty good defense for the most part. We’ve had two bad innings this season. One of them happened to be against Upper Dublin and the other one was against Bensalem in our first inning of the year. Other than that we’ve been rock solid.”
Norristown (2-2, 2-1 SOL) will be on the road at Cheltenham Tuesday, and Upper Merion (2-4, 2-1) will host Wissahickon on Tuesday.

UPPER DUBLIN 8, NESHAMINY 7
The Flying Cardinals opened up an 8-0 lead after four innings but then had to hold off the Redskins, who scored seven runs over the last three innings.
Thomas Juelke’s three-run triple in the first and a two-run single by Josh Bachman highlighted a six-run first for the Cards. The Cardinals added two more runs in a fourth inning that included an RBI triple by Cole Swiger before the visiting Redskins’ offense came to life.
The ‘Skins scored one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth before scoring four runs in the top of the seventh to make things real interesting. Andrew Dampman’s RBI double and an RBI single by Matt Grudza highlighted the four-run inning.
Brendan Jordan was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs to lead the Redskins.
Justin Horn did not allow a hit in three scoreless innings to earn the win for the Cardinals. He struck out one and walked one. Dan Sidell allowed one hit and one run in 2.1 innings to close it out for the Cards.
Andrew Alvino was charged with the loss. Jerry Scavone closed out the game for the ‘Skins, allowing just one hit while fanning three and walking none in two scoreless innings.

PENNRIDGE 13, HARRY S TRUMAN 3 (6 innings)
The Rams scored early and often in Friday’s non-league win, exploding for six runs in the second inning to take a commanding lead early. The Tigers never threatened.
“A couple boys that haven’t gotten a whole lot of opportunities to this point did well,” Pennridge coach Tom Nuneviller said. “(Andrew) Fantaskey got a couple of hits. (Chase) Bifolco hasn’t had much of a chance, and he came out and swung the bat and had a couple of big hits for us. I was glad to see our aggressive swings today.”
Fantaskey was 2-for-3 with two runs scored out of the leadoff spot for the Rams while Bifolco was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored. Jason Souder was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Andrew Horn was 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. Brendan Knouse was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Nate Coyle, who was 1-for-1 with a run scored, reached base on all four trips to the plate, thanks to three walks.
The Tigers managed just four hits off of five Ram hurlers who saw action. Mitch McLeod, who earned the win, did not allow a hit in two scoreless innings. Kyle Yoder, Luke Nuneviller, Austin Rodenberger and Knouse each threw one inning.
Romeo Sturkey accounted for one of Truman’s hits and drove in a pair of runs.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 16, ST. JOSEPH’S PREP 6 (6 innings)
Seth Leuz and Jared Schram had productive days at the plate for the Indians. Both players doubled and drove in four runs. Leuz was a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored while Schram was 2-for-3.
Tyler Nowmos was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and Juliano Kovalcik was 1-for-2 off the bench with a pair of RBIs. Joe Precaido was 1-for-1 with one RBI and one run scored. James Closser singled and drove in a pair.
All told, the Indians pounded out 13 hits in the abbreviated six-inning contest, and the fun started early. They put four runs on the board in a first inning that included an RBI double by Schram and RBI singles by Matt Hand and Nowmos. In the second, the Indians added three more runs to go on top 7-0. A two-run double by Leuz highlighted the inning that also included an RBI double by Nowmos. For good measure, the Indians scored four more runs in the third to go on top 11-0 on their way to the mercy rule win.
Gavin Ferrandino turned in 3.1 strong innings to open the game, allowing just two hits and one run (unearned) while fanning six and walking three. Eric Hoefer did not allow a hit in 1.2 scoreless innings to close it out, striking out three and walking two.
