Non-league
NESHAMINY 11, HARRY S TRUMAN 2
It’s always a special time for players from both sides when the venue is Arm and Hammer Park, and since the contest doesn’t count toward either the league or district standings, it provides a unique opportunity to give many players game time.
“Our senior night at Arm and Hammer Park is always a fun experience,” Neshaminy coach Dan Toner said. “We were able to get a lot of players in the game and see some of our young pitchers.”
The Redskins took a 4-1 lead into the top of the sixth when they erupted for six runs.
Six pitchers saw time on the mound for the Redskins, and those six pitchers allowed just two hits and two runs. Ryan Jacobsen was credited with the win, allowing one hit while striking out two and walking two in two shutout innings.
Also for the Redskins, Joel Bonner made the most of his two trips to the plate, collecting a pair of hits – including a double – and driving in three runs. Rob Del Buono was 2-for-2 with two runs scored while Mike Amrhein was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Contributing one RBI each for Neshaminy were Evan Hale, Jake Kozlowski, Luke Hardnock and Robert Harrison.
Neshaminy (11-4, 8-4 SOL) will travel to Pennsbury for a key division battle Friday, and Harry S Truman (8-3, 6-3) will travel to Council Rock North on Friday.
