Check out the recaps for SOL boys’ basketball teams in action Wednesday.

Non-league
NESHAMINY 61, PENNRIDGE 49
Neshaminy made the road trip to Pennridge in nasty weather conditions worth their while, receiving double-digit efforts from five players and notching a big non-league win.
“We had to go all the way up to Pennridge in the rain, and it got ugly on the way there,” Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle said.
Things improved considerably when the Redskins took the court, and they jumped out to a 16-11 lead after one quarter and upped their advantage with a 16-6 second quarter to go into halftime with a 32-17 lead.
In the opening half, Max Currie had 10 points while Logan Adams had nine.
Key stretch: The Redskins took control of the game with a 16-6 second quarter.
Key players: Max Currie (16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists), Logan Gale (11 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds), Jason Gilardi (10 points, 6 rebounds), Eriq Gold (10 points), and Cadenn Amati (12 points).
Coach Mark Tingle on the game: “It was a good game. We played well. We shared the ball well. Once we went up, we kept the lead throughout the game. At halftime, we had it at 15. They made a nice little run in the third. We had the lead, but they would chip it back to eight. We kept it between the eight and 15 range for the most of the third and fourth quarters.”
Playing big: “We play with three bigger guys – 6-2, 6-3, 6-5. We said we could probably do a really good job, and all three of them did really good. Max (Currie) had 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and he had a couple of steals too. He had a really good game for us. Jason Gilardi had 10, and Cadenn Amati had 12.
“We had five guys in double figures tonight, which is nice. We shared the ball, and if we shared the ball – we got a lot of layups tonight and had 25 baskets in the paint, so that was a telling stat. We only had one 3.”
Up next: Neshaminy (4-2) will host Council Rock South in Friday’s SOL opener.
“We have a tough Council Rock South Friday night at our place,” Tingle said. “It should be a good start to the league.”
Pennridge (3-1) will travel to Souderton on Friday.

CARVER ENGINEERING & SCIENCE 58, NORTH PENN 57
There are tough losses, and then there’s North Penn’s non-league loss to Carver Engineering and Science.
The Knights appeared poised to walk away with the dramatic win after a clutch 3 by Ahmaar Godhania in the game’s closing seconds, but then the unimaginable happened.
“Right at the end of the game – we ran one of our actions that ended up getting a couple of good touches in the paint, and we ended up kicking it out to Ahmaar, who hit a 3 from the top of the key with about two or three seconds left,” North Penn coach Cordell Lord said. “They came out of a timeout and threw up a prayer from halfcourt and hit a really tough shot.
“Tough one to swallow. The kids are pretty upset, but we know the schedule we’ve had is not easy. We’re set to turn the page and continue to make a big difference in terms of our energy and effort and just keep trying to stay the course and put together 32 minutes of winning basketball.”
Godhania led all scorers with 21 points, which included four 3-pointers. Aiden Atkinson added 16 and had a pair of 3-pointers. Nolen Foust had two 3s for six points while JC Ward and Gabe Altemus each had one 3 as the Knights buried 10 3-pointers.
North Penn led 27-24 at halftime and still led by one heading into the final quarter when Carver pulled off the improbable win.
“I thought that after a really tough week last week, the boys came with a lot of energy, and they played an overall strong basketball game,” Lord said. “We had some tough turnovers towards the end of the game, but we did a really good job of making sure we got some timely stops.”
