HARRITON 62, WISSAHICKON 60
The Trojans lost a heartbreaker in Wednesday’s season opener.
In what had been a back-and-forth game, Harriton took a 51-47 lead into the fourth quarter and extended that lead to eight
before the Trojans came roaring back to knot the score 60-60.
Coack Kyle Wlson described the finish.
”With 4 seconds left Harriton’s leading scorer, Henry Beicher attacked the basket but was blocked by Wissahickon’s 7’0″ center Jona Sellenriek,” the Trojans’ coach said. “Harriton’s Seth Shaw took advantage of the rebound and put the ball up with tenths of a second on the clock. Sellenriek blocked it as well, but it was ruled a goaltend, and Harriton walked off with a 2-point victory.”
For the Trojans, Nico Vacchiano led the way with 21, Owen Haughey had 13, and Delmar Taliaferro had eight.
