COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 8, PENNSBURY 3
Philip Mignacca scored seven goals in a glittering offensive performance to lead the Golden Hawks to a win in Monday’s SOL opener.
“When he’s in space, he’s dynamic,” coach Mike Murray said of Mignacca. “We rode hard so that created some transition opportunities. That’s where we want to score.
“I’m happy with the start. The beginning of the season is kind of crazy because neither team had really gotten a lot of time outside.”
The Golden Hawks, who led, 4-2 at halftime, also received a goal and two assists from Chase Patterson. Jack Fegan and Sean Kolimaga each had a pair of assists.
Murray lauded the performance of his defense, which included Kyle Gartenmayer, Brandon Berghaier, Tyler Perkins, Sean Reeser and freshman Sean Rafter.
“Our goalie – Dylan Homann – played great,” the Golden Hawks’ coach said. “Our defense did very well.
“Kyle Gartenmayer plays all over the field – he’ll play LSM and then close ‘D.’”
Mignacca also had six ground balls while Fegan and Berghaier both had five. Patterson, Gartenmayer and Jake Brossman each had four. Perkins and Dean Rarick were both credited with three ground balls.
For the Falcons, Nick Sutton had two goals and Avery Dysart added one. Jake Krefetz and Ryan DeZutel combined to win 8-of-15 face-offs.
Council Rock South (1-0 SOL) will travel to Holy Ghost Prep for a non-league game Tuesday, and Pennsbury (1-1, 0-1) will be on the road at Interboro Wednesday for a non-league contest.

SOUDERTON 14, NESHAMINY 12
Jalen White scored four goals while Stephen Blue and Walker Martin both had three goals and two assists to lead the visiting Indians to the non-league win.
Souderton, which led 9-6 at halftime, also received two goals and one assist from Brock Azeff while Cole Witoslawski also had a pair of goals. Jamison McDivitt added a pair of assists.
Axell Beskar recorded 14 saves in goal in the win. Luke Atiyeh was credited with 10 ground balls to lead the Indians.
Souderton (2-0) will host Pennridge in a non-league game on Wednesday, and Neshaminy (0-1) will be on the road at New Hope-Solebury for a non-league game Wednesday.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 12, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 4
In a battle of neighboring rivals, it was the Indians who had the upper hand. Luke Walstrum had a monster game to lead the Indians, finishing with seven goals and one assist. Peter Lehman had a hat trick to go along with two assists, and Beckett Thompson had two goals and three assists.
Shane Bradley had a pair of assists while Nate Lewis, Jimmy O’Donnell and Dean Scalamandre each chipped in with one assist.
Rock North goalie Robbie Kay was credited with 15 saves in a winning performance.
Council Rock North (2-0) will host Methacton in a non-league game on Thursday.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 11, BOYERTOWN 9
CB South opened its season with a non-conference victory against the visiting Boyertown Bears.
South dominated at the face-off X with Tyler Horvath going 20-for-22 on face-offs. He also had 14 ground balls. Horvath kept the Titans in the game after a slow start that saw them fall behind 3-1. The Titans woke up with a four-goal second quarter to take a 5-4 halftime lead. The Titans pushed that lead to 6-4 early in the third quarter but quickly lost control on bad penalties and Boyertown won the quarter 3-2 to knot the score 7-7 after three quarters.
CB South used a ball control offense to finish out the game final quarter 4-2.
The Titans received balanced scoring with six players contributing goals. Colin Abbonizio connected for a hat trick while Austin Novick, Walsh and Grosso each had two goals. Ballentine and Holley had one each.
Leading the Titans’ defense were Matt McDonald with six ground balls while Dylan McCrory had two forced turnovers.
Central Bucks South (1-0) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh in a non-league game on Wednesday.
