Souderton coach Craig Hunsberger:
–The game: “We knew going in that this would be a battle. CRN is always a tough opponent and consistently puts a strong team on the field, so we expected that we’d need guys to step up and make plays throughout the game. They came out fast, jumping to a 3–0 lead in the first quarter before we were able to settle in and build some momentum of our own.
As a whole, the team rallied together and embraced the gritty work; fighting for ground balls, riding hard on clears, and focusing on doing the little things right from start to finish.
“We stress the importance of those details every day in practice, because games like this always come down to who executes them best. Our players bought into that, and it showed.”
–Getting defensive: “Our defense locked in and held them scoreless for nearly two full quarters after those first three goals. Andrew Rivera anchored the unit with 11 saves, supported by the efforts of Alex Benfield, Alex Frazier, Dylan Brun, Liam Murray, Logan Cornes, and Dan Trumbore. On the other end, the offense found its rhythm and put up seven straight goals heading into the fourth quarter.”
–Props: “Freshman Landon Moore had an outstanding day at the faceoff X, helping us maintain possession, control the tempo, and extend our lead late in the game.”
