SOL National Conference
PENNRIDGE 10, PENNSBURY 9 (OT)
Ryan Carickhoff scored the game-winner with 90 seconds remaining in overtime, propelling the Rams to the dramatic Senior Night win, and as endings go, they don’t get much better than this for a Rams’ squad that closed out its season on a high note.
“Great game played by both teams,” Pennridge coach Chris Pianko said. “Biggest props go to our defensive unit – we went into overtime a man down with no faceoff, and right before killing the first one-minute penalty, we earned another minute in the penalty box.
“Our defense did a great job and killed the second penalty. While clearing at the end of the penalty kill, Pennsbury got an offside penalty to have us go a man up. At the very end of the man up opportunity, Ryan Carickhoff scored the winning goal with about 1:30 left in the overtime. A great win for our seniors on senior night.”
Anchoring the Rams’ defense were Will Howley, Adam Fantaskey, Colin Manville, Nate Gushue, Liam Molyneaux, Aiden George, Cooper States, Frank Medl, and Jack Leuthe.
“Will (Howley), Colin (Manville), Nate (Gushue), Liam (Molyneaux), Cooper (States) and Jack (Leuthe) all had a huge part of the two minutes of man down we were on to start overtime,” Pianko said.
