SOL Patriot Division
Neshaminy 2, Council Rock North 0
It was a statement win for Neshaminy on Thursday, as it remained unbeaten in its last 10 games with a win over first place CR North and forced a first-place tie atop the SOL Patriot standings with two games remaining.
Sean Conrad and AJ Kollie scored first-half goals.
Neshaminy, which went 3-14-1 a year ago, is 11-2-3 overall and 8-0-2 in its last 10.
“The kids are confident in themselves, and they’re believing they can win games now,” Neshaminy coach Tom Foley said. “Considering where they came from last year, it’s a huge accomplishment. We told them about that yesterday.”
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Sean Conrad (N) from Rezi Tebidze 8th minute
AJ Kollie (N) Penalty Kick 20th minute
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley on the game:
“Overall, the first half we did a really nice job. I think we kept Rock North off balance most of the time. We almost went up 3-0. Dylan Reheil went in on the goalkeeper, and the goalkeeper made an outstanding save to keep it at 2, so it was 2-0 at half.
“We knew the second half was going to be difficult because there was a pretty stiff wind going in North’s direction, and that plays right into their strength. They’re a very direct team. They knock balls forward, they have athletic kids that get on the end of them and create opportunities. They had three or four really scary moments – a couple shots wide, they got a couple that blocked, and there were a couple of melees in front, but we managed to keep them out of the goal for a big win for our guys.”
—The goals: “We were creating some opportunities in the first half, which led to our first goal. One of our guys got taken down about 22 yards out, and Rezi (Tebidze) takes our free kicks, and he hit a nice bender. Their goaltender kind of parried it down and went to the ground.
“Sean (Conrad) was crashing the net like we ask him to, and he got rewarded with a tap-in goal. I think it caught the keeper by surprise that Sean was right in his lap, so that got us off to a good start, 1-0.
“Brody Collins sent Dylan Reheil into the box, and he got taken down inside the box, which led to our PK.”
—Props: “Our defense just continues to shine. Matt (Diamond), Mark (Andreyeu), Brian (Birmingham) and AJ (Kollie) were absolutely tremendous today. They did a fabulous job.”
Council Rock North coach Joe Stackhouse: “We did not play good in the first half. The second half they only had a shot on goal. They parked the bus and hung in there. Their kids did a great job today. They did exactly what they had to do to hold us at bay. It was basically a two-half game. We just didn’t finish our chances in the second half. I cannot take anything away from what they did and the way they executed it.
“This was our third game in three days, and that’s a whole other piece.”
Next up: Neshaminy (11-2-3, 6-1-1 SOL) hosts Pennsbury on Monday. CR North (12-3-1, 6-1-1 SOL) hosts CR South on Monday.

Bensalem goal
Second Half –
Nico Espinoza (P) from Sean McGroarty
Pennsbury coach Tom Stoddart on the win:
“Two evenly matched teams. We took advantage of some of our goal situations and played strong defense with Mangiaracina, Will Edwards., Ryan Polumbo. Sean McGroarty, Anjur Curevac, Andrew Farsiou, Wes Rittenhouse and Ajdan Hadzovic in front of Felipe Malik for the victory.”

Council Rock South 3, Harry S. Truman 0
Reid Vandemark scored two goals as CR South put away Truman with a pair of goals in the second half on the way to the shutout victory in a Patriot Division game.
George Simon had the Golden Hawks’ other goal.
Owen Lubieski and Sean Davis had assists.
CR South coach Alan Nicholl on the win:
“It was a comfortable win today against a Truman team that seemed to have a short bench.
Reid scored off of a long ball from Lubieski after 10 minutes, but we waited until the 65th minute when Sean Davis played in George Simon on a free kick before getting a little breathing room. Reid completed his brace with a few minutes later from inside the box.
“We didn’t play our cleanest game today and seemed to lack a bit of focus, but it was good to put the three points in the bank.”
Next up: CR South (8-5-3, 4-2-2 SOL) plays at CR North on Monday. Truman (1-13, 0-8 SOL) hosts Bensalem on Monday.
Truman 0 0 – 0

SOL Colonial Division
Souderton 2, Central Bucks East 1
Nico Ziegler got Souderton started with a first-half goal, and the Indians remained a game back of the division title chase with a big win over CB East on Thursday.
Cam Taylor scored Souderton’s second half goal
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Nico Ziegler (S) from Nolan Watkins
Second Half –
Cam Taylor (S)
CB East goal
Souderton coach Frank DeMas said about the win:
“We started the game off really well. We had a lot of possession and created some awesome chances. Regrettably, we just couldn’t put them away until Nolan Watkins played a perfect ball over the top for Nico Ziegler, who had a great finish.
“In the second half, East put a ton of pressure on and played really well. Their high press was really organized, and (East’s) Dan Frye was playing very well in the middle.
“We did get another one midway through off a Zach Vaszily corner. We aren’t entirely sure if it was Cam Taylor or an own goal.”
–Props: “(The) back line was amazing today. Nico Ziegler came up huge in back-to-back games for us. With a few guys hurt, he stepped up.”
Next up: Souderton (13-2, 6-2 SOL) hosts North Penn on Monday. CB East (8-6-2, 4-4 SOL) hosts CB West on Monday.
CB East 0 1 – 1

North Penn 3, Pennridge 2 (OT)
Shafiq Henaidy scored a pretty game-winner late in the first overtime, as North Penn slipped past rival Pennridge in a wild back-and-forth SOL Colonial showdown on Friday.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Carson Schell (NP) from Ryan Miller
Second Half –
Parker Annan (P) from Sal D’Aquino
North Penn goal
Andrew Levush (P) from Lucas Gilbowski
Overtime –
Shafiq Henaidy (NP) from Fionn Regan
North Penn coach Chris DePeppe on the win:
“I wouldn’t say it was a very convincing win, and it took something special to finally get the win over a Pennridge team that has lost, I think, 7 or 8 one-goal games this season.
“We started well and looked lively for 20 minutes. We created a few excellent chances, but we were only able to put one past their keeper. Senior Ryan Miller beat a defender in the box and found junior Carson Schell at the back post. Carson tucked it neatly inside the near post.
“We really needed to convert another chance because we dominated possession and looked hungry. But Pennridge opened the second half with more energy, and they took more risks going forward. And we just went off the boil for a spell. They scored two nearly identical goals – both came from long balls redirected by the head of a 6-foot-4 target. We got caught ball watching, and a few players did not track their men.”
–The game-winner: “The winning goal was special. Shafiq Henaidy took a big switch pass from Fionn Regan and took two touches, cut inside and hit what may be our goal of the year. A 25-plus yard cannon blast.”
Pennridge coach Aaron Rapsinski said:
“They got on us early after a bit of a chaotic start for us. We settled in and weathered the rest of the first half. We made some adjustments at halftime and were able to pull level 10 mins into the half. We had a set piece that we did a good job of winning the first and second ball, and Sal D’Aquino was able to find Parker Annan in the box to put the ball away. NP scored the next goal, but we were able to level it at 2-2 with 15 left in the half. Lucas Glibowski had a great flick off a long throw and Andrew Levush was right there to hammer it home.
“We had some momentum going into OT, but they were able to counterattack at the very end of the first OT.”
Next up: North Penn (10-6, 4-4 SOL) plays at Souderton on Monday. Pennridge (5-9-2, 1-6-1 SOL) hosts CB South on Monday.
North Penn 1 1 1 – 3
Pennridge 0 2 0 – 2

Upper Dublin 2, Quakertown 0
Dilan Plaku scored in the first half and Ozan Ertekin helped put the game away in the second half as Upper Dublin picked up the shutout win over Quakertown on Thursday.
Freshman Adriano Roman picked up a pair of assists for the Flying Cardinals.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Dilan Plaku (UD) from Adriano Roman 25th minute
Second Half –
Ozan Ertekin (UD) from Adriano Roman 64th minute
Upper Dublin coach Noah Johnson on the win:
“I was just happy to see that, even though it’s been a rough second half of the season for us, to see us still be able to come out and play and also see some of the younger guys get a chance to play more now that we’re heading deeper into the season. It was nice to see them play and get an idea what it will look like next year not having some of our older guys around.”
—The goals: “The ball was bouncing around in the box, and Adriano (Roman) passed the ball to Dylan (Plaku), and Dylan was able to tap the ball in. We went into up halftime 1-0. We scored in the 64th minute. Adriano crossed the ball to Ozan (Ertekin) on a corner.”
—Props: “All the guys that came off the bench. Adriano (Roman) did a really good job today. It’s not easy being a freshman playing on varsity, and to be able to do that when people’s heads were a little bit lower and we were not fully present mentally, it was nice to see him show that he’s maturing, knowing how to handle certain situations.”
Next up: Upper Dublin (9-5-1, 6-1-1 SOL) hosts Hatboro-Horsham on Monday night. Quakertown (2-13-1, 0-7-0) will be on the road at Wissahickon Monday night.
Upper Dublin 1 1 –
Quakertown 0 0 – 0
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Plymouth Whitemarsh 2
Logan Clayton converted a penalty kick with 35 seconds remaining in the game, as Hatboro-Horsham held off upstart Colonial squad for the 3-2 Liberty Division win on Thursday afternoon.
Luke Weiss and Christian Patelmo also had goals for the Hatters.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Luke Weiss (HH) from Logan Gisondi 1st minute
PW goal 2nd minute
Second Half –
Christian Patelmo (HH) from Miller Kahmar 51st minute
PW goal 72nd minute
Logan Clayton (HH) Penalty kick 80th minute
Hatboro-Horsham coach Kyle McGrath on the game:
“It wasn’t our crispest performance after a good game on Tuesday, and some of that’s a credit to PW. They’re playing better than their record shows. I just think we were kind of flat today and thought it was going to be an easy game because we beat them earlier in the season, and it turned into a much tougher game than maybe it needed to be.
“Fortunately, we got the win in the end, and I’m just happy to see the kids bounce back after giving up a late goal. To then go on and get the winner
before overtime is important. Not necessarily satisfied with how we played, but it’s always good to get a win. There are some things to work on defensively, but again, any time we can win is a positive, and we’ve got to move on to next week.”
—The goals: “We scored in the first minute, 45 seconds into the game. Luke Weiss scored off an assist from Logan Gisondi in a really well-worked sequence. We gave up a goal literally 25 seconds later off of a corner kick, so it was 1-1 about 90 seconds into the game. It was 1-1 at halftime.
“In the 51st minute, Christian Patelmo scored off a Miller Kahmar assist. Miller put a nice ball across the box, and Christian was there to finish it at the back post.
“PW scored in the 72nd minute to make it 2-2. We scored a penalty kick with 35 seconds left in the second half to win 3-2. Logan Clayton scored that for us. We had gotten the ball deep in their end. I believe it was off a throw-in. The ball was bouncing, and Evan Paone just got run through in the box, and the referee called a penalty kick, and Logan stepped up and finished it for us.”
—Props: “Christian Patelmo is a kid who has bounced around between positions. He’s played up top the last couple of games, and he’s gotten on the scoresheet quite a bit. The same thing, Miller Kahmar’s been on the scoresheet the last few games, so we’re fortunate to get some goals today.”
Next up: Hatboro-Horsham (7-7-1, 4-4 SOL) plays at Upper Dublin on Monday. PW (2-13, 1-7 SOL) is at Abington Monday.
HH 1 2 – 3
PW 1 1 – 2

Chamar Blanchard (C) from Zack Rosser
Jordan Rodriguez (C)

Cheltenham coach Bill Tonkin on the win:
“It was a good scoring week for us. We had a lot of chances, and we finished a lot of them. Next week is going to be a lot tougher for us, so hopefully we can continue to finish the chances we are creating.
“The goal for this week was to win both games and get out of them healthy. We accomplished both goals and were able to not only be healthy but to get some rest for the starters in both games. Next week we get a little playoff preview with two league games we need to win and a non-league game against a highly ranked opponent. It will be good preparation for the playoffs.

Second Half –
Alex DeFeo (NHS), from Aramis Shire, 55th minute
Blake Duvall (NHS) from Quinn Bridge, 74th minute
New Hope coach Chris Van Pelt on the win:
“Big team performance after a tough game on Tuesday. We managed to deal with a lot of early pressure partly due to the fact that we were trying a different shape today. After conceding and making a few adjustments, we started to settle into the game and generate some good chances.
“In the second half, I thought the guys that came off the bench all played extremely well and were able to get on the stat sheet too. The second half definitely showcased some of the things we’ve been focusing on the past few weeks which was really nice to see.

Council Rock North assistant coach Brian Hoffman on the game: “We play Neshaminy tomorrow. This was tricky in the sense of obviously wanting to win the game but also rest guys that we needed to rest, and the guys did a good job of that. We got some good varsity experience for some of the players that have not gotten on the field as much in the closer games we’ve played. Some scorers today that had not scored a ton previously, so hopefully bolstering some confidence.
“Masterman – for being a small school – is a surprisingly skilled team. Because of numbers, when they had to go to the bench, we were a lot deeper than they are. Otherwise, they’re well coached and played well. They would be middle of the table in our league, so kudos to them.”
Next up: North (11-2-1 overall, 6-0-1 Patriot) will square off against Council Rock South at 7 pm Monday.
Masterman 0 0 – 0
Council Rock North 2 4 – 6
