Ignoring the torrential rain, the Panthers – sparked by the hat trick of Dan Higgins – erupted for seven goals in a shutout of the Tigers.
“Dan Higgins played fantastic again for us,” Tennent coach Nick D’Andrea said. “The game was played in terrible weather with crazy rain.
“We finished our chances which made the difference today.”
Also for the Panthers, Carlton Waters added a pair of goals while Jimmy Manning and Mykola Yurniuk each added a goal. It was Yurniuk’s first varsity goal.
D’Andrea lauded the strong play of several Truman players.
“Truman played really good possession at times,” the Panthers’ coach said. “For Truman, Pierre-Toussaint was a handful up top, and Artie Dingley is dangerous with a big throw-in and defensively in the back. Ayoub Fask was dangerous in the middle with his skill.
“We’re happy to get a league win and are 9-8 overall heading into Friday night against Dock.”
Harry S Truman closed out its season with a 5-11-2 record (0-10-2 SOL).
