Check out the recaps for SOL boys’ soccer in action Tuesday.

SOL Colonial Division
Central Bucks South 4, Souderton 1
The battle for first place in the Colonial Division was tied at halftime, and then in the second half, CB South took over with three straight goals to get past Souderton, which lost for the first time this season.
AJ Pisoni scored first for Souderton, and then later in the half, CB South’s Tyler Jaskelewicz converted a penalty kick to tie it up at 1.
In the second half, Anthony Bice scored twice and Jaskelewicz scored his second goal on a free kick to lift the Titans to the win.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
AJ Pisoni (S) from Drew Kerns (1-0)
Tyler Jaskelewicz (CBS) (1-1)
Second Half –
Anthony Bice (CBS) from Josh Dozier (2-1)
Tyler Jaskelewicz (CBS) (3-1)
Anthony Bice (CBS) from Lucas Tyson (4-1)
CB South coach Ed Brnardic: “Thank you to Souderton High School for hosting what was a great high school atmosphere. We knew Souderton would come out with a lot of energy to start the game, but credit to our guys for not being fazed after going down 1-0. We had a plan, and our guys stuck to it and we were able to climb back into the game.
“Overall, I’m very happy with the number of scoring chances we created, but there’s still a lot we need to work on. This was a very tough test, and our schedule doesn’t get any easier.”
–The scoring: “It started when Josh Dozier made a great pass to put Anthony Bice through. When Anthony was taken down in the box, it was Tyler Jaskelewicz who stepped up to take the PK and tie the match. It was more Josh Dozier to Anthony Bice in the second half when the two of them connected on what turned out to be the winning goal.
“But the goal of the night was when Tyler Jaskelewicz lined up to take the free kick from 25 yards out – Tyler opted not to call a play on the free kick – instead he just fired it directly into the top corner. The final goal of the game started from the back when Lucas Tyson had his head up and saw a great run by Anthony Bice. Lucas fired a beautiful ball over the top, and Anthony ran in on it and buried our fourth goal of the game.”
–Props: “What can I say about Anthony Bice that I haven’t said already? He scored two again today and created the first goal with his run. And Tyler Jaskelewicz put two goals away himself, the second one being a candidate for goal of the season for us. And with several good performances by other players, you know how special Andrew Sherstynov was tonight if he was the one that we named as our player of the game. Andrew was solid on defense, shutting down several Souderton attacks, and he made several high IQ plays in our buildout from the back.
–Special game: “On a personal level, it was a special game for me as I have coached more than half of the Souderton lineup at some point in club soccer, and it was nice to see those guys playing so well. A good number, including Zach Vaszily, Lukas Sailer, Liam Manners and Brayden Russell, were up in Canada with me this summer when our dynamo team won the North American Croatian National Soccer Tournament. I wish them continued success this season.”
Souderton coach Frank Demas: “After a back and forth start to the second half, South scored to go up 2-1. From there we pushed a lot of numbers forward trying to tie the game. South scored two late in transition.
“Bice for South was exceptional and probably the fastest/strongest player we’ve seen so far this season.”
Next up: CB South (8-0, 5-0 SOL) plays at CR South on Thursday. Souderton (7-1, 4-1 SOL) looks to bounce back at Harry S. Truman.
Central Bucks South 1-3 4
Souderton 1-0 1
Central Bucks West 2, Pennridge 2 (2 OT)
Logan Lamaina scored twice, including the tying goal for the Rams with 22 minutes remaining, and Pennridge and CB West played through the remainder of regulation and then overtime scoreless, as they settled for a 2-2 tie Tuesday.
Andres Reyes and Brandon Terry scored CB West’s goals.
By the Numbers:
First Half
Logan Lamaina (P) (1-0)
Andres Reyes (CBW) (1-1)
Second Half –
Brandon Terry (CBW) (2-1)
Logan Lamaina (P) (2-2)
Pennridge coach Aaron Rapsinski: “We knew going into the game that West’s record isn’t reflective of how good of a team they have. They play a really fun to watch, possession-style game. They did a good job of possessing the ball up and down the field, but we hung in there with them.
“We had a few more chances, they had a few more chances. Either team could have ended it in regulation, either team could have ended it in OT. It was a fun game to be a part of. Props to our guys for sticking it out. A lot of guys played 80-100 mins today. We need to bounce back for a tough game at Neshaminy Thursday.”
–The goals: “We were able to go up 1-0 at the 20-minute mark off a mistake from their defender. He took a poor touch, and Logan Lamaina pounced on it and buried it. West scored to tie it going into the half. They came out strong in the second half and scored their second goal early in the second half. We had to respond, and we again were able to capitalize on a poor clearance from them. Logan Lamaina scored his second unassisted goal of the game with 22 mins left in the game.”
CB West coach John Adair: “We’ve had a tough start to the season in terms of results that don’t necessarily match how we’ve played thus far, and today was another example of that.
“I thought it took us a while to settle into the game today, but once we did, we had some really nice moments. We have spent a lot of time recently on finishing off our attacks and being more dangerous in the final third. In a lot of ways, today was probably the best we’ve looked in those areas.
“Outside of a couple of moments that Pennridge punished us, to their credit, it may have been close to our most consistent performance, and coming off another overtime game on Friday, I’m really proud of the guys for the fight and commitment they showed.”
–Props: “Andres Reyes is a kid that always works hard and trains really well, so I was happy for him to have such a great performance with a goal and an assist today.
“Despite two higher profile mistakes that gave Pennridge their goals, our boys showed a lot of character to respond in the way that they have and typically have all season.
“Harrison Brownlow and Michael Rafalowski do so much work for us in all phases of play. They win duels for us in the midfield and consistently help us control games and today was no different for them.
“Brandon Terry likely goes unnoticed in a lot of games and isn’t the type of player that gets a ton of attention but does so much for us connecting our lines from defense to attack so for him to get on the scoresheet is great for him.”
Next up: Pennridge (2-5-1, 1-3-1 SOL) is at Neshaminy on Thursday. CB West (1-5-2, 0-4-1 SOL) plays at Pennsbury on Thursday.
Central Bucks West 1-1-0-0 2
Pennridge 1-1-0-0 2
Central Bucks East 3, North Penn 2
Dan Frye scored twice in the second half, as CB East rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to get past North Penn on Tuesday.
Aidan Pesternak also scored for the Patriots.
By the Numbers:
First Half –
North Penn (1-0)
Second Half –
Dan Frye (CBE), 51st minute (1-1)
Aidan Pesternak (CBE) from Eric Schmidt, 60th minute (2-1)
Dan Frye (CBE), 65th minute (3-1)
North Penn (3-2)
CB East coach Josh Isaacsohn:
“Entering the game both teams seemed to be a little apprehensive as it was a big conference matchup. However, credit to North Penn and Coach (Chris) DePeppe for having his boys stick with it. They seemed to have a little more consistent energy and possession throughout the entire first half. This led to an unfortunate bounce which got by the CBE goalkeeper to have NP Leading 1-0 at half.
-CB East’s goals: “As a team we spoke about changing some of our tactics and regrouped at halftime. This seemed to lead to a more energized, dynamic and connected side for CBE. After fighting hard to gain a corner, Dan Frye (51st Min) played a ball in, which NP fumbled a bit and ended up finding the back of the net.
“After this spark, the CBE team began to connect more through midfield and Eric Schmidt (Asst) sent in a nicely weighted pass for Aidan Pasternak (60th min) to put away. A short while later Dan Frye (65 min) scored off an incredible individual defensive and offensive effort. And, although North Penn capitalized on a CBE defensive lapse, the CBE boys saw the game through for this important conference victory.”
Next up: CB East (5-3, 3-2 SOL) is at CR North on Thursday. North Penn (4-5, 1-4 SOL) looks to bounce back with a road game at Bensalem Thursday.
North Penn 1-1 2
Central Bucks East 0-3 3
SOL Patriot Division
Council Rock North 1, Pennsbury 0
A long James Reynolds throw-in set up the game’s only goal by David Morais (Logan Adams assist) with three minutes remaining in regulation as CR North kept its lead in the Patriot Division with the shutout win over Pennsbury.
Scoring Summary
First Half – No score
Second Half –
David Morais (CRN) from Logan Adams, 78th minute (1-0)
CR North assistant coach Brian Hoffman on the game: “We knew that they were going to play very defensive. As more and more teams see us play, we’re going to see that more and more. In soccer, they would call it ‘parking the bus.’ They would then try to counterattack us.
“I have to give credit to Pennsbury because it is hard to do that, to play 80 minutes of very well disciplined, focused play. They did an outstanding job. We do not have a lack of dangerous players, and they were engaged, and their work rate was very good. Not that ours was bad, but they played a very effective style given the situation. So, I want to take my hat off to them in that regard.”
–The goal: “It was off a throw-in. James Reynolds has a long throw, and it went to Logan Adams, who flicked it to the back post, and David Morais got it into the back of the net. It wasn’t pretty, but it still counts last I checked. It was a flicked head ball from Logan Adams to David Morais.”
–Props: “James Reynolds played along the sidelines and played really outstanding. Obviously, it helped that he ended up with the hockey assist for the throw-in. He does have a good throw.
“We have a couple injuries, so we had guys step up and fill in really well. I thought Zander Nowicki did a great job filling in. Harry Kehl coming off an injury gave us substantial minutes playing the outside mid position and played well. Isaac Morais, as a defensive center mid, made some very necessary tracking back runs to stop or hold up the counterattacks that Pennsbury was using.”
Next up: CR North (8-0-1, 4-0-1 SOL) hosts CB East on Thursday. Pennsbury (3-5, 2-3 SOL) plays host to CB West on Thursday.
Pennsbury 0-0 0
Council Rock North 0-1 1

Scoring Summary
First Half –
Rezi Tabidze (N) from Brody Collins 7th minute (1-0)

Rezi Tabize (N) from Brody Collins 15th minute (3-0)
Ryan McMullen from Bryce Hannings 21st minute (4-0)

Second Half –

Zach Hargraves (N) 55th minute (7-0)
Nick Indelicato (N) from Sebastian Weister 68th minute (8-0)
HST Goal 72nd minute (8-1)
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley on the win: “Everyone played today. It was a good team win.”
–Props: “Brody Collins – his three assists were really well played. The first and third assist were just nice feeds from the field, and the second assist was a nice free kick on Brian Birmingham’s head, so he did really well. He’s only a freshman, and he sees the field extremely well, and he’s only going to get better.
“Zack Hargraves scored two goals, and it was good for him. He’s really got his confidence back, and he’s clicking really well.
“Overall, it was a good team win. I was happy everyone got a chance to play and build some confidence for the week against Pennridge. That will be a difficult game for us.”
Next up: Neshaminy (5-2-1, 4-1 SOL) hosts Pennridge on Thursday afternoon. Truman (0-8, 0-5 SOL) hosts Souderton on Thursday.
Harry S Truman 0-1 1
Neshaminy 5-3 8
Council Rock South 2, Bensalem 1
CR South fell behind early, but tied it up before halftime and then put the game away in the second half for the win over Bensalem.
Scoring Summary
First Half –
Aboubacar Bayo (B), 6th minute (1-0)
CR South (1-1)
Second Half –
CR South (2-1)
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock: “We went up 1-0 roughly six minutes into the game on an unassisted goal by Aboubacar Bayo. Ball got played across and I think their defender miss-hit it out, and Abou had a great hit to finish.
“They got one before the half on a corner where I thought our goalie had it but they popped it out of his hands and finished.
“(CR South’s) No. 16 scored on a great shot about 25 minutes into the second half. We gave him too much space and he buried it from long distance.”
Next up: CR South (3-2-2, 2-2-1 SOL) hosts unbeaten CB South on Thursday. Bensalem (3-4-1, 2-3 SOL) is home against North Penn Thursday.
Bensalem 1-0 1
Council Rock South 1-1 2
SOL Freedom Division
Cheltenham 2, Springfield Twp 1
Emile Chanione and Chamar Blanchard scored first-half goals as Cheltenham pulled off the big win, handing defending Freedom Division champ Springfield its first loss of the season.
Scoring Summary
First half –
Emile Chanione (C) from Zack Rosser, 16th minute (1-0)
Chamar Blanchard (C) from Billy Fishman, 40th minute (2-0)
Second Half –
Harry Bates (S) (2-1)
Cheltenham coach Bill Tonkin: “It’s a very good win, a quality win. We finally played an 80-minute game. We got back to doing what we like to do. We were pretty similar to what we did against Abington (in a 1-0 win), played the same type of way. I don’t know if it’s us playing well against good teams – it brings the best out of us, and we kind of laid down a little bit for some other teams. I don’t know. I’m very happy for the guys.”
–The scoring: “Zack Rosser took a free kick and found Emile Chanione on the far post with a head ball to put us up 1-0. With around 10 seconds left in the first half, Billy Fishman won a ball around the top of our 18 and pushed it to Chamar Blanchard, who tucked it in the corner to put us up 2-0 at halftime. The second half was pretty back and forth. Springfield got a penalty kick with about 6-7 minutes left in the second half, and Harry Bates scored, and we just held on for the last couple of minutes after that.”
–Key to the win: “Scoring early, getting the lead – we play a lot better when leading a game. We relaxed a little bit, but I think our intensity level was good today. That’s kind of been a question mark for us the last couple of games. Our physicality was really good today, ball movement, all of that was very good today.
“We worked on things at practice yesterday that we did well today, so everything is finally coming together to where I think everyone is getting on the same page, ready to build on this momentum over the last two wins in a row. Going into the crossover games, hopefully, we’ll continue to tack more wins together and boost ourselves up in the standings.”
–Importance of win: “Both losses we had were 1-0 to teams we could have won that we lost. We could very easily be sitting here with no losses, but we have two. It was good to bounce back from a tough New Hope loss. It was tough on the boys, but having Academy Park on Friday (a 5-0 win), and having a few goals put in, I think really kind of started to build that confidence back for us.
“This was a big win for us, but I think Friday’s game, even if the quality of the opponent wasn’t as good, started pushing us forward more. Friday’s win was an important one. The first half of Friday’s game was really bad, to be honest. We played Thursday night, we got beat, and we were a little let down. Friday’s second half, we really challenged them to push forward and get a bunch of goals. We came out and put four in the net in about 20 minutes. I think that confidence – we worked hard, and this was a reward. We’ve seen it, so let’s get out and do it again.
“That’s what they did today. They went out and worked hard from the beginning of the game, got the goal early. I think the second goal right before halftime was an even bigger push because it gave us that bit of cushion to not relax. That’s what we told them at halftime. ‘We can’t relax because this team’s too good to do that. Keep pushing trying to get that third goal,’ and we did. We had a couple of chances in the second half as well – just wide over the top, but we kept pushing.”
–Props: “Everyone played well from top to bottom. Our goalie, Jeremiah Moncriffe, played well. Chamar (Blanchard) up top is just tough to handle. He’s a handful for anybody. He just draws so much attention that it gets the other guys chances.”
Next up: Cheltenham (4-2-1, 2-2-1 SOL) plays at Plymouth Whitemarsh on Thursday. Springfield (6-1-1, 3-1-1 SOL) travels to Abington Thursday night.
Springfield Twp 0-1 1

New Hope-Solebury coach Chris Van Pelt on the win: “I challenged the guys to play higher and more aggressive in our press, and they certainly met that challenge. I was very happy with the amount of times we won the ball back in the their half of the field.”
–Props: “Aramis had a great day in front of goal as did John and the defense. Our midfield put in another tireless performance and did an amazing job winning tackles and quickly connecting in transition.”

Upper Dublin coach Noah Johnson on the win: “I was pleased with everyone. It was a weird game, for sure, for our guys. It was very slow, sort of the way people try to play us in the playoffs.
