SOL Patriot Division
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2
The Indians opened up a 3-0 lead early in the second half and then withstood a Golden Hawk late rally to earn the win.
“Both teams were very tired,” Rock North varsity assistant Brian Hoffman said. “They played last night against Upper Dublin
and went to double overtime, and this was our fourth game in five days, so you can imagine our legs were rather sluggish as well.”
Will Louden scored the game’s first goal and assisted on the second by Matt Broznya to send the Indians into halftime with a 2-0 lead. A goal by Chase Murphy gave the Indians a 3-0 lead before the Hawks came roaring back.

Council Rock North varsity assistant Brian Hoffman:
–On the game: “We were up 3-0 and kind of just cruising. They took a shot, hit post, hit our goaltender and went in the goal. We have a very good goaltender, so I’m glad he kept his head about him because that could be rather difficult after that.
“With about six minutes to go, they had a corner kick that went long, bounced around a bit and went to a player that was in an advantageous position beyond all the defenders.
“South had a really good work rate, they were trying to execute the plant that Coach Nicholl put into play. We had a couple of good answers to the questions that were asked of us.”
–Props: “Logan Adams, Ben Purcaro, Chase Murphy and Will Louden all played fantastically.”
Up next: Council Rock North will host Springfield Twp on Thursday, and Council Rock South will travel to Pennridge on Thursday.

“Second half we came out strong again, and looked really dangerous.”

Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Toni Washington:
–On the game: “Yousef Al-Hebshi assisted by Jake Bertin first half. We committed a foul and they scored a nice goal upper 90 far post with our keeper facing the sun. 1-1 at half.
“We had a breakdown in the back which made it 2-1. We had chances to tie and win the game, but unfortunately, we hit the post and their goalie made a great save in the second half. They were a physical and athletic team that found a way to win. I believe we need to take a page from their book to combine with our talent.”
–Props: “Shoutout to swing players Jayden Li, Matt Yanez, and Joe Milligan for stepping up and standing out in today’s match.”
Up next: Plymouth Whitemarsh will host Pennridge in a non-league crossover game Wednesday.
