SOL Patriot Division
Bensalem 7, Council Rock South 2
Chase Esposito scored four second-half goals, and Bensalem had six total after halftime, breaking open a close game for a signature win for the program over CR South by a 7-2 final score on Tuesday afternoon.
Tied at 1 at halftime, the Golden Hawks exploded with four straight goals in the second half, including three in one five-minute span.
Scoring:
First Half –
CR South, 17th minute
Jordan Posten (B) from Dylan Barnhart, 39th minute
Second Half –
Chase Esposito (B) from Dylan Barnhart, 60th minute
Mamadou Diallo (B) from Jordan Posten, 61st minute
Brian Bock (B) from Jordan Posten, 65th minute
CR South, 69th minute
Chase Esposito (B) from Artur Drizd, 79th minute
Chase Esposito (B) from David Romero, 80th minute
Chase Esposito (B) from David Romero, 80th minute
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:
–The game: “The first half of today’s game was a bit sloppy. Both teams seemed to have trouble finding their footing and the pace was a bit slow. CR South was able to find a goal roughly halfway through the first half, but we were getting opportunities. Their goalie made a few nice saves, and we missed the net on a few others. We were eventually able to get one back on a cross from Dylan Barnhart to Jordan Posten right before the end of the half.
“At halftime, we discussed being more decisive in our play. Play was pretty even until CR South was given a penalty shot roughly 17 minutes in. Our keeper, Joey Francis, made a huge save on the penalty and that provided us with some life. We went on to score three goals over the next eight minutes. CR South got one back and then we closed with three more towards the end.
“This was a big win for us as CR South is a good team that is always difficult to play against. We just have to keep on working.”
Next up: Bensalem (4-2-1, 2-2-1 SOL) is back in action Thursday at Harry S. Truman. CR South (4-4-1, 2-3-1 SOL) next plays on Monday at Souderton in a non-league game.
CR South 1 1 – 2
Bensalem 1 6 – 7
Council Rock North 3, Pennsbury 1
CR North got itself right back in the hunt for the Patriot Division top-spot with a solid 3-1 win over previously unbeaten Pennsbury on Tuesday.
With the win, the Indians tied Pennsbury with 12 points each atop the standings.
Scoring:
First Half –
Matt Brozyna (CRN) from Ben Pucaro, 6th minute
Andrew Foulke (CRN) from Matt Brozyna
Second Half –
Pennsbury goal 66th minute
Matt Brozyna (CRN) from Ben Pucaro 69th minute
Council Rock North assistant coach Brian Hoffman:
“Pennsbury has played very well so far this season, and they like to play balls over the top. Our back line won – it had to be 80 percent, maybe 85 percent of the balls in the air during the course of the game, and they just played really tight defense on their guys that were up top.”
–Props: “Matt Brozyna put two goals in tonight, and Ben Pucaro continues to produce and had two assists tonight.
“Shane Murphy in the midfield had lots of really great tackles as well as passes to get guys in open space.”
Next up: CR North (4-1-3, 3-0-3 SOL) has a non-league game Monday at Central Bucks South. Pennsbury (6-1, 4-1 SOL) plays at rival Neshaminy on Thursday.
Pennsbury 0 1 – 1
CR North 2 1 – 3
Neshaminy 6, Harry S Truman 0
Five first-half goals, including two from Jaxon Flannery late in the half put this one away as Neshaminy picked up the big win over Truman on Tuesday.
In all, five different Neshaminy players scored.
Scoring:
First Half –
Monty Jawawdeh from Nick Indellicato (N), 13th minute
Christos Vasilarakis PK (N) 25th minute

Jaxon Flannery from Dean Goodwin (N) 30th minute
Jaxon Flannery from Dean Goodwin (N) 37th minute
Second Half –
Nick Kania from Jayson Morris (N) 50th minute
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
“Overall, I thought we had a good team effort. Everyone on the squad played at least 30 minutes with the exception of a couple of starters – they didn’t play as much.
“The conditions wind-wise were trying at times, but overall, it was a good team effort, and we’ll hopefully get back in a wide-open league on Thursday against Pennsbury.”
Next up: Neshaminy (3-2-3, 2-2-1 SOL) hosts Pennsbury on Thursday afternoon. Truman (2-5, 0-5 SOL) hosts Bensalem Thursday.
Neshaminy 5 1 – 6

SOL Colonial Division
Central Bucks South 8, Pennridge 0
The match remained scoreless for the first 27 minutes before Tyler ‘TJ’ Jaskelewicz took matters into his own hands.
South coach Ed Brnardic describes the action, “TJ collected a flick-on from Jackson Tait in midfield, drove forward, and finished with his left foot into the bottom-right corner. Just two minutes later, Leo Propato won an aerial challenge in defense, dribbled past two defenders, combined with Jackson Tait on a crisp one-two, and slipped the ball to TJ, who fired a right-footed shot into the same corner.
“One minute later, TJ completed a four-minute hat trick, taking a pass from Evan Nguyen, dribbling past several defenders, and curling a shot into the right side of the goal.”
The Titans added one more goal in the final minute of the first half.
“On a long throw-in from Gavin Medwid, Jackson Tait shielded his defender, turned, and scored on the volley,” Brnardic said.
The Titans scored four more goals in the second half to close out the game..
Jackson Tait also had three goals for the Titans and added a pair of assists.
Scoring:
First Half –
Tyler Jaskelewicz (CBS) from Jackson Tait
Tyler Jaskelewicz (CBS) from Leo Propato
Tyler Jaskelewicz (CBS) from Evan Nguyen
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Gavin Medwid
Second Half –
Evan Nguyen (CBS) from Jackson Tait
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Sebastian Sicard
Jackson Tait (CBS) from Ryan Burke
Jaxson Sauder (CBS) from Lakshya Agnihotri
CB South coach Ed Brnardic:
“The boys looked relaxed and focused in the locker room before the game, and the coaching staff felt it might be our night. Still, for nearly the first 30 minutes, the Pennridge defense kept us at bay, and their goalkeeper made several excellent saves. Then TJ scored a hat trick in four minutes, completely changing the complexion of the match.”
“Credit to Pennridge for continuing to compete throughout the match. Some nights simply do not go your way – we have all been there. The second half became an opportunity for both teams to use players who may not have received many minutes this season and give them valuable varsity experience.”
–Props: Jackson Tait wrote his name into the CB South record book tonight by becoming the all-time leading goal scorer in program history. The previous record, held by Colin Fagan, had stood for 10 years. After the match, we congratulated Jackson in the locker room and presented him with the actual game ball from his milestone goal. It was a special moment for the entire team. His best finish of the night, however, was the goal that completed his hat trick: a beautiful chip over the goalkeeper.
“TJ (Jaskelewicz) was outstanding tonight, scoring three absolutely beautiful goals. Everyone notices his ability to finish with either foot, but if you rewind a few seconds, you can see that his clean first touch creates those special moments. He keeps the ball firmly on the ground and close to his foot.
“We endured a crushing start to the season when we lost our two starting center backs to lengthy injuries during the opening weekend. Losing Zach Prest for the season was devastating, and we feared Leo (Propato) would be sidelined for as long as six weeks. Those injuries created a domino effect throughout the lineup, forcing several players into unfamiliar positions. Tonight, we welcomed Leo back to the field, giving us formation options we had not had in some time. He looked as though he had never missed a minute, solid in the back all game and instrumental in creating the important second goal.”
Next up: CB South (4-1-4, 4-1 SOL) hosts CB West on Thursday night. It will be a community night for youth local clubs PA Rush, Ukrainian Nationals and Warrington, and the schools will be collecting sock donations for the homeless.
Pennridge (0-4-1, 0-4-1 SOL) has a non-league home against Wednesday against Lansdale Catholic.
Central Bucks South 4 4 – 8
Pennridge 0 0 – 0
Central Bucks East 2, Central Bucks West 2
Twice CB West battled back from deficits, and Zurab Lobzhanidze’s goal in the 65th minute was the difference, tying this one up for the Bucks against first-place CB East on Tuesday night.
This night was about a whole lot more than just the game.
“Our game tonight was for a really important cause,” West coach John Adair said. “One of our West students started a foundation called Project Mental Health Matters, a topic that has really affected the entire Central Bucks community, so we were really happy to support that and allow it to open up some really meaningful conversations within our group.”
Scoring:
First Half –
Flavio Grimaldi (CBE) from Dustin Weber
Beck Walton (CBW)
Second Half –
Alex Bobeica (CBE) from Dustin Weber
Zurab Lobzhanidze (CBW)
Central Bucks East Josh Isaacsohn:
–The game: “Seven minutes into the game, Flavio Grimaldi scored off a long throw from Dustin Weber, and CB West came back with a goal about 11 minutes later to tie it 1-1.
“Twenty minutes into the second half, we had a corner kick from Dustin Weber, and it kind of hit Dustin again, and Alex Bobeica finished it. We had a lot of chances I thought we should have put away. With less than 10 minutes left in the game, they fought, and off a scrum in front of the net, they put one in, and it ended up 2-2. Kind of the crosstown rivalry you want, but we didn’t get the finishes that we wanted.
“I have the ultimate respect for coach John (Adair) and Matt Mannino and those guys over there. They played great, and they had the guys ready to fight, and we battled too.
“I’m very proud of our defense. I thought our defenders played as a collective unit and played great tonight. I have to say that I’m proud of our guys that there were really strong pockets of good soccer for longer periods of time than we’ve seen so far this season. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t finish off the chances we had. We certainly had our chances.”
–Props: “Flavio Grimaldi came out like a man on fire tonight, and he was just all over the place. The effort he gives is just absolutely incredible. He’s a kid that’s also on the football team, and he is also going to the biotech center. He’s a very, very smart kid, and he just came out completely on fire.
“Also, just collectively, our defense. I don’t think any defense in soccer gets enough shoutouts, and I just can’t say enough about how great our defense was.”
CB West coach John Adair:
“When it came time for the game, I felt as though we played with a bit too much emotion which can always be
the case when it comes to these rivalry games. While we played with energy and were definitely up for this game, we didn’t play with clear minds through the first twenty or so minutes which led to us continually offering up opportunities for long throws and set pieces, things that East is always good at.
“In the second half, we wanted to do much more playing between and through the lines to force defenders into making more decisions in space, and it paid off. The equalizer came off a short corner that started with great combination play to get in behind.”
–Props: “Beck and Zurab scoring our goals is also hopefully a really good sign for us. Both are true center forwards but can pose such different problems for defenders. Having them both clicking in tandem can be really dangerous.
“And for Zurab especially, I was really happy for him. He’s had to tune out quite a bit of noise over the past week or so and was really focused and contributed in a massive way.”
Next up: CB East (3-1-3, 3-0-2 SOL) plays at Souderton on Thursday. CB West (2-4-2, 1-2-2 SOL) plays at CB South on Thursday night.
CB East 1 1 – 2
CB West 1 1 -2

Souderton 2, North Penn 0
This one was tight throughout, as Souderton emerged with the win with a late first-half goal and then a clincher late in the second half to secure the 2-0 win over rival North Penn on Tuesday night.
AJ Pisoni and Freddy Villatoro had the goals for the Indians in a contest that also included a huge save of a PK by keeper Trevor Alderfer with Souderton clinging to a 1-0 lead.
Scoring:
First Half –
AJ Pisoni (S), free kick
Second Half –
Freddy Villatoro (S) from Cole Manners
Souderton coach Frank Demas:
“Really hard-fought game tonight from Souderton. Our work ethic and commitment to play for each other tonight was fantastic. Every guy for Souderton tonight that touched that field gave everything they had.
“We started off the scoring late in the first half, when AJ Pisoni scored a direct free kick from about 25 yards out. AJ had a really strong game all around, so it was nice to see him on the scoresheet.
“The second half big moment came when Trevor Aldefer saved a PK to keep us up 1-0. This was an incredible moment from Trevor, as NP had a lot of the momentum leading up to the PK save. Another clean sheet for Trevor.
“With five minutes left, Cole Manners played a great ball to Freddy, who finished the chance beautifully. His first varsity goal.
“It was a really close game. Chances and great spells of play from both teams. Shoutouts to our whole group. Every guy did a job and did it well.”
North Penn coach Maurice Haye:
“Another hard-fought game by both sides. We scored first, but the goal was called back because of a late hand ball call. Our striker Johnny Morales put a lot of pressure on their defense backs, but they were ready to contain him.
“We gave up a goal shortly after ours was taken back. Souderton scored off a free kick rebound in the first half. The second half, we continued to put pressure on Souderton. Winger Kyle Barros was a dribbling machine in the second half making a lot of great moves. We missed a penalty in the second half and could not find the net after that.
“Souderton had a game plan and executed it good. The next matchup will be another great game, I’m sure.”
Next up: Souderton (4-2-1, 2-2-1 SOL) hosts first-place CB East on Thursday night. North Penn (2-3-1, 2-3 SOL) hosts Pennridge Thursday.
Souderton 1 1 – 2

Springfield Twp. 4, Upper Moreland 0
Three goals in the first 17 minutes was a big boost for Springfield, which concluded its first trip through the league schedule with a perfect record with a 4-0 win over Upper Moreland.
Four different players scored goals for the Spartans.
Scoring:
First Half –
Matty Corcoran (S), unassisted, 4th minute
Adam DiBattista (S) from Tyler DePolo, 15th minute
Eden Ha (S) from Brendan Noonan, 17th minute
Second Half –
Lorenzo Bedard (S) from Porter Brookes, 75th minute
Springfield coach Riley Woron:
“We got off to a quick start. We moved the ball really well. UM made some big saves and blocked a lot of our shots early. We were a bit quiet, but once we started communicating, we found a lot more space.
“We concluded our first round of division games and are excited about the position we’ve put ourselves in. There won’t be too much resting as we’re right back at it hosting William Tennent to start our second round of division games.”
Next up: Springfield (7-0, 5-0 SOL) hosts William Tennent on Thursday. Upper Moreland (1-6, 1-4 SOL) hosts Cheltenham on Thursday.
Upper Moreland 0 0 – 0

Five different players scored goals and New Hope-Solebury controlled this one from start to finish for the shutout win over Cheltenham on Tuesday afternoon.
Scoring:
New Hope – Thomas Marschall, Sean Whooley, Forest Yang, Evan Kearney, Nico Pereira
New Hope-Solebury coach Chris Van Pelt:
“It was nice getting guys off the bench good minutes. Everyone who came in played very well. I was very happy with how all our guys played and worked hard today. It was nice getting our first clean sheet of the season, and second win on the year from a good team performance going into a tough game Thursday and the games coming up over the next few weeks.”
Next up: New Hope (2-4, 2-3 SOL) is back in action at Lower Moreland on Thursday afternoon. Cheltenham (0-8, 0-5 SOL) is at Upper Moreland Thursday.
New Hope-Solebury 5

William Tennent 3, Lower Moreland 0
After a scoreless first half, a pair of goals by Charlie Villarroel gave Tennent the lift it needed to pull past Lower Moreland on Tuesday night.
It was the third straight win for the Panthers, who have won four straight in the Freedom after an opening loss to Springfield.
Scoring:
Second Half –
Charlie Villarroel (WT)
Charlie Villarroel (WT)
Brayden Hahn (WT) from Vincent Kurz
Tennent coach Nick D’Andrea:
“Night games are always fun, and both student bodies were out cheering for their schools. It was 0-0 at half. Lower Moreland has an amazing midfield group that we knew going into the game would be tough. They are always well coached by Bob (Barnhart) and have beaten us the past few years.
“In the second half, Charlie Villarroel scored two goals where he got in behind the defense and was able to knock it over the goalie. Vincent Kurz, who I thought was our best player today, served a free kick that found Brayden Hahn for a head ball goal for our third goal.
“It will be tough to play them again, but I’m sure both teams will look forward to another fun game with a huge atmosphere.
“In goal, I’m happy for Charlie Murtha who earned another shutout.”
Next up: Tennent (5-2, 4-1 SOL) plays at Springfield in a first-place showdown on Thursday afternoon. Lower Moreland (3-3, 3-2 SOL) hosts New Hope on Thursday.

Abington 8, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0
Abington wasted no time in jumping all over Plymouth Whitemarsh Tuesday, scoring five goals in the first half on the way to the 8-0 win.
Seven different players scored goals, led by Zak Yurchyshyn with two, while Jaza Vasquez picked up three assists on the day.
Scoring:
First Half –
Zak Yurchyshyn (A) from Jaza Vasquez
Owen Gesing (A) from Brennan Ewer
Kyle Kretschman (A) from Owen Gesing
Kai O’Sullivan (A) from Jaza Vasquez
Samuel Arruda (A) from Jaza Vasquez
Second Half –
Zak Yurchyshyn (A), unassisted
Conor Chapin (A), unassisted
Andri Fartachuk (A) from Aidan Murray
Abington coach Isaac Pitkow:
–The goals: “Jaza Vasquez was not among the goal scorers today, but was at the heart of most of our attacking play with three assists. The first goal of the day came from Jaza, beating his defender on the left side
and playing a low cross into the box that Zak Yurchyshyn finished one time into the bottom corner. Zak has been a force up top this season for the Ghosts.
“The second goal of the day came from the right flank. Brennan Ewer was on a breakaway and touched the ball around the keeper before playing a beautiful ball across to senior midfielder Owen Gesing who arrived in the box with a sliding one-time finish for the second goal of the day.
“The third goal of the day came after senior. Kyle Kretschman, who was moved to Striker. Owen Gesing served a beautiful cross into the box that Kyle headed home to the bottom left corner.
“The fourth goal of the day was from a free kick just outside the box. Jaza played the free kick short around the wall to sophomore Kai O’Sullivan, who curled the ball into the far post for his first goal of the season.
“The last goal of the first half came from Jaza again who beat two defenders and then slid the ball across on the ground for senior Samuel Arruda, who finished a one-time into an empty net.
“The score at halftime was five for Abington and zero for PW.
“The sixth goal of the game came shortly into the second half when senior Zak curled the ball into the far post with the outside of his right foot, this goal was unassisted.
“The seventh goal of the game came from senior Conor Chapin, who skipped pass his defender and then tucked the ball away into the bottom right corner, this goal was unassisted.
“The last goal of the game was scored by junior Andri Fartachuk. Senior Aidan Murray played Andrei in on a through ball that he was able to finish to the bottom right corner for his first goal of the season.
Another clean sheet was registered for junior goalkeeper Dom Veitz.
“Jaza Vasquez was not among the goals today but was at the heart of most of our attacking play with three assists.”
PW coach Toni Washington:
“Definitely not our best showing with the first two goals from our own mistakes, bad clearances and a team like Abington will make you pay for it. We played a lot of defense and were unable to connect offensively against a well-coached defending state champ team.
“This was a game I was able to put in different pieces to see what works best for us when plan A doesn’t work while giving starters some rest to prepare for the next game.
“Shout out to our back up keeper Avi. He had awesome saves to keep the score under double digits.”
Next up: Abington (6-0-1, 5-0 SOL) hosts Wissahickon on Thursday. PW (2-2-3, 1-2-2 SOL) plays at Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday night.
Abington 5 3 – 0
PW 0 0 – 0
Hatboro-Horsham 1, Upper Dublin 0
Ryan Brosso’s second-half goal was the difference in the game as Hatboro-Horsham blanked Upper Dublin 1-0 on Tuesday.
Scoring:
Second Half –
Ryan Brosso (HH) from Dan Orloski, 72nd minute
H-H coach Kyle McGrath:
–The game: “We had been off for four days and weren’t able to practice yesterday because of the Jewish holiday, so we started the game a little big sluggish, and Upper Dublin kind of controlled played for the first 20 or 25 minutes, and fortunately for us, they weren’t able to capitalize on some chances, and then we kind of grew into the game a little bit and wrestled control for the rest of the first half to make it a midfield battle to get into halftime.
“In the second half, we started the same way with Upper Dublin kind of maintaining possession and having the ball in our half of the field in our territory quite a bit, but my back four and my center midfielders did a good job of keeping everything in front of us, and we were able to make a few adjustments and grow into the game in the second half and were able to come away with the late victory, which is obviously always important this time of the season.”
–The goal: “We kind of wrestled control back a little bit. We got a ball back in the attacking third, and it kind of bounced around a little bit. Lucas Smith pressured the UD defender that caused the turnover. Dylan Orloski’s shot was saved by the keeper, and Ryan Brosso followed it up at the back post for the goal.”
–-Props: “Owen Fagan, my goalkeeper, made eight saves on shots kind of at him, so routine saves, but still, he had to make them on a tricky, slippery, wet day.
“Nick Bellizzie has really stepped up the last two games as a senior captain and leader for us alongside Connor Colletto and then my outside backs the last two games – Haiden Yoder and Leighton Saxer, who have done a good job of defending. That’s two straight shutouts for us, which we always preach to our guys. Anytime you can keep a shutout, you give yourself an opportunity to win a game.
“Through the center midfield, Finn Marsden played really hard for 65-70 minutes before having to come off to an injury, and Noel Nation is a freshman, but he plays much bigger and wiser than his grade, which is obviously an important position and a key role for us.”
Next up: Hatboro-Horsham (5-3-1, 3-2 SOL) hosts Plymouth Whitemarsh on Thursday night. Upper Dublin (2-6, 1-4 SOL) plays at Quakertown on Thursday.
Upper Dublin 0 0 – 0
H-H 0 1 – 1
Wissahickon 4, Quakertown 1
Brayden Dehner and River Elliot scored first-half goals, as Wissahickon held off visiting Quakertown for the 4-1 Liberty Division win on Tuesday night.
Scoring:
First Half –
Brayden Dehner (W), 12th minute
River Elliot (W), 35th minute
Second Half –
Elijah Calpas (W), 45th minute
Own goals (W), 47th minute
Quakertown, 43rd minute
Wissahickon coach Stuart Malcolm:
“We got off to a good start with a goal in the 12th minute through Brayden Dehner, but failed to capitalize on a number of chances before getting the goal in the 35th minute through River Elliott.
“Quakertown started strongly in the second half and got a deserved goal after the 43rd minute. They had come close already in the first half a couple of times.
“A fortunate couple of minutes led to a penalty kick which Eli Calpas scored and an unfortunate own goal by Quakertown. After that it was backwards forward, but we were pleased to get a good win and looking forward to Thursday.”
Next up: Wissahickon (6-2-1, 3-1-1 SOL) plays at first-place Abington on Thursday. Quakertown (1-4-1, 0-4-1 SOL) hosts Upper Dublin Thursday afternoon.
