Central Bucks South 2, North Penn 1
Anthony Bice scored a pair of first-half goals, and CB South then held off North Penn in the second half to remain unbeaten in a second quality league win of the season for the Titans.
Ian Balisalisa scored for North Penn in the second half.
The win also was a first for first-year CB South coach Ed Brnardic going against twin sons Bruno Brnardic and Nino Brnardic, who are seniors for North Penn.
By the Numbers:
First Half –
Anthony Bice (CBS) from Tyler Jaskelewicz
Anthony Bice (CBS) from AJ Okoniewski
Second Half –
Ian Balisalisa (NP) from Fionn Regan
CB South coach Ed Brnardic:
“Obviously it was a special moment to coach against my boys. It was also special because I have coached several of the North Penn players – Ryan Miller, Demitri Ilovski, Ryan Smith, Adam MacNair and Ahmaar Godhania – in club ball since they were five years old. These guys are family to me.
”I knew it would be tough to play against North Penn and Coach DePeppe. I’ve gotten to know Coach quite well over the years since he has been coaching my boys, and he was one of the very first people I called when I got the CB South job. Coach DePeppe is fantastic at in-game adjustments, so I knew that even though we had the early lead, North Penn would find a way to crawl back into the game.
–The second half: “We went into halftime with a 2-0 lead looking to put the game away, but defensively we got lazy with our marking and watched the eventual goal-scorer (Ian Balisalisa) run right past us. Full credit to Ian for a quality finish inside the post. The goal gave North Penn life and momentum and put us on our heels for the rest of the game, but we were able to close the match.”
–Props: “Credit to Anthony Bice, who worked hard all night and put away two goals, one assisted by Tyler Jaskelewicz and the other by AJ Okoniewski.
“On defense, Evan Rumford and Andrew Sherstynov had standout performances closing down the North Penn attack, and goalkeeper Pat VanLuvanee shut the door on a few really good North Penn chances, and his passing IQ allowed us to dictate play.”
Next up: CB South (4-0, 2-0 SOL) hosts Holy Ghost Prep on Saturday. North Penn (4-2, 1-1 SOL) visits Pennridge on Tuesday.
CB South 2 0 – 2
North Penn 0 1 – 1

Souderton 2, Central Bucks West 1
AJ Pisoni scored the lone goal of the second half as Souderton emerged with the one-goal win over CB West in a tightly contested Colonial Division game on Friday afternoon.
Tannor Wiszneski scored in the first half for Souderton.
By the Numbers:
First Half –
Tannor Wiszneski (S) from Cam Taylor (1-0)
CB West goal (1-1)
Second Half –
AJ Pisoni (S) (2-1)
Souderton coach Frank Demas:
“CB West had the better of us for a lot of the first half, but our boys responded really well to going down early. CB West is a tough team to play, they are well coached and move the ball very well.
–Props: “Colin Hughes and Danny Brun were exceptional for us defensively.”

Central Bucks East 5, Pennridge 0
Dan Frye scored CB East’s first goal and then assisted two others as CB East bounced back from a loss to rival CB South on Wednesday with a 5-0 shutout over Pennridge on Friday afternoon.
Aidan Pasternak, Dustin Webber, Nick Bonargo and Cisco Martinez all scored goals for the Patriots.
By the Numbers:
First Half –
Dan Frye (CBE) from Matt Walloff
Aidan Pasternak (CBE) from Dan Frye
Second Half –
Dustin Webber (CBE) from Finley Rennie
Nick Bonargo (CBE)
Cisco Martinez (CBE) from Dan Frye
CB East coach Josh Isaacsohn:
“(We) rebounded from a tough game earlier this week to see out a solid team win against a well-organized and hard working Pennridge team. Coach (Aaron) Rapsinski had his team ready to play as they had some strong chances early.”
–The game: “After much back and forth, Daniel Frye finished a long service from Matt Walloff. Within a few minutes, Daniel Frye then assisted Aidan Pasternak on a crafty finish inside the box.
“We felt that Pennridge would come out very fired up and with new organization after halftime, which they did. To our players credit, we responded with tough, physical play and ended up seeing an assist from Finley Rennie for a goal from Dustin Webber at the 50-minute mark.
“Within 10 minutes, Nick Bonargo worked hard defensively to gather the ball and then created an excellent scoring chance which he then finished. Additionally, about five minutes later, Dan Frye created a scoring chance which Cisco Martinez put away.”
Next up: CB East (3-2, 1-1 SOL) hosts Souderton on Tuesday night. Pennridge (0-4, 0-2 SOL) hosts North Penn on Tuesday.

Council Rock North 4, Bensalem 1
Will Kamp scored a goal in the first half, and then added another in the second half to help CR North put away Bensalem in a physical game on Friday.
Kamp finished the game with two goals and one assist. Landon Lentz and Logan Adams also had goals.
The win was the fifth of the season for the Indians without a loss.
By the Numbers:
First Half –
Will Kamp (CRN) from Zayd 22nd minute
Second Half –
Landon Lentz (CRN)from Will Kamp
Tejas Sassan (B) from Tommy Hurst
Will Kamp (CRN) from Chase Murphy
Logan Adams (CRN) (
CR North assistant coach Brian Hoffman:
“It was a very chippy game. We got at least five yellow cards, and I’m pretty sure Bensalem got an equal number if not more. The whole flow of the game was broken up by so many foul calls to a point where once they missed a couple of them. The players then responded negatively toward each other. There were cards coming out left and right for at times what seemed innocuous. In fact, both teams had a player who got two yellows, which now in the PIAA is called a soft red, so neither team has to play down, but that player was excluded from the rest of the competition.”
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:
“Thought our boys played really well today.(We) played a strong first half where we were unfortunate to give up a goal on a miscommunication which led to a breakaway. Certain things didn’t go our way in the second half, but the boys continued to battle throughout. I’m proud of the effort.”
Next up: CR North (5-0, 2-0 SOL) hosts Neshaminy on Tuesday. Bensalem (1-3, 0-2 SOL) hosts Pennsbury on Tuesday.
CR North 1 3 – 4
Bensalem 0 1 – 1
Neshaminy 2, Council Rock South 1
Rezi Tibidze converted a penalty kick with two minutes remaining to break a 1-1 tie, as Neshaminy rallied late to get past CR South in a hotly contested Patriot Division game on Friday.
Scoreless at halftime, CR South took the lead in the 65th minute with an Owen Lubieski goal. Neshaminy tied it with a penalty kick by AJ Kollie in the 71st minute, and seven minutes later Tibidze put it away, also on a PK.
By the Numbers:
Second Half –
Owen Lubieski (CRS), 65th minute (1-0)
AJ Kollie (N), 71st minute
Rezi Tebidze (N), 78th minute
Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
––The game: “I thought in the first 20 minutes today we moved the ball really, really well. We were getting wide and created a lot of opportunities but just couldn’t get on the end of anything in the middle. Then it seemed like a switch went off, and we stopped doing what we were doing to be successful. I don’t think Rock South really had any dangerous opportunities, but they had some quick counters, we had a couple of our own self-inflicted wounds, and it was 0-0 at halftime.
“The same kind of deal in the second half. The first 20, we came out, and we were knocking the ball around pretty well but couldn’t get on the end of things. In the 65th minute, when we were in a lull, we had a foul near center field, and they had a 45-yard free kick and went into the mix. It hit off the post and went to (Owen Lubieski), and he buried it.
“To our credit, the kids responded right away. They started playing like they were in the first 20, created a couple of opportunities we didn’t get on the end of and finally got the two PKs. It was well-deserved. I thought our kids worked hard. I told them they established a standard and now they have to live up to it. They played five pretty solid games, and we’ll be disappointed if we don’t match that standard.
“Of course, we got down again, and we managed to come back in a short amount of time with only 15 minutes left to play, and found a way to win. Hopefully, they’re starting to gain a little bit of confidence from it.”
—The scoring: “No. 5 for Rock South (Owen Lubieski) scored their goal off a free kick. It was on the rebound. We pulled our center back again to get an extra attacker. Chris Reed, our outside left back, got into the mix. He got wide, and he got around the corner, and one of the Rock guys took his legs, so that led to our first PK. AJ Kollie got a PK in the 71st minute, and Rezi Tebidze got a PK in the 78th minute. Our second PK, we had a really nice buildup out to Dylan Reheil and he got hammered in the box, and they called a PK on that.”
—Props: “Again, Damien Castro and Christos Vasilarikos were just super in the center midfield. They just clogged up the middle. We really don’t yield too much in the midfield because those guys are there and win just about all the tackles. Our center back, Mark Andreyeu, is playing a classy game right now. He goes in on tackles, and when our other guy might get beat, he comes across and wins the tackle. He does an outstanding job.”
—CR South props: “Rock is Rock. Alan (Nicholl) always puts a quality product out there. They have a kid that makes those long throws that give you fits all day long, and they caused a lot of trouble with their free kicks. It’s always a difficult game, and it’s always nice to get out of it with a win against that group.”
Next up: Neshaminy (3-1-1, 2-0 SOL) plays at CR North on Tuesday. CR South (1-3-1, 0-2 SOL) plays at Harry S. Truman on Tuesday.
Neshaminy 0 2 – 2
CR South 0 1 -1

The win was the second of the week for Falcons after a 1-2 start.
Pennsbury coach Tom Stoddart:
“We struggled to finish but got the one we needed. Fillip Milik with the shutout in goal, including a tremendous save with 6:30 left. Truman played well and was dangerous at times.”
Next up: Pennsbury (3-2, 2-0 SOL) is at Bensalem on Tuesday. Truman (0-5, 0-2 SOL) hosts CR South Tuesday.
Pennsbury 0 1 – 1

Hatboro-Horsham 3, Quakertown 0
Two goals in the first half set the tone, as the Hatters bounced back from a loss to Abington on Wednesday with the shutout win over Quakertown on Friday.
Ethan Kamchatov and Evan Paone scored in the first half for H-H. Logan Gisondi’s goal in the 65th minute put the game away.
By the Numbers:
HH – Ethan Kamchatov 25th minute
HH – Evan Paone from Louis Matullo 35th minute
HH – Logan Gisondi from Nick Bellizzie 65th minute
H-H coach Kyle McGrath:
–On the win: “We needed it obviously after Wednesday’s result, and we knew it was going to be challenging. We saw Quakertown earlier in the week, and they are very good in the counterattack, and we were aware of that and were able to shut that down. We finished a couple of opportunities we haven’t been able to do so far this season. It’s a good way to go into the weekend and get back to .500 and reset.”
–The Scoring: “Our first goal was in the 25th minute. We had a corner kick. The ball came into the box, and there was just kind of a typical high school soccer play where the ball’s bouncing. Logan Gisondi took a shot that was blocked, and Ethan Kamchatov was able to poke it home to finish it to give us a lead. Our second goal we had another corner kick, and Louis Matullo put the ball in, and Evan Paone was at the back post, and he headed it in in the 35th minute. We finished the scoring in the 65th minute – we had a nice sequence of plays between Nick Bellizzie, who got the assist, and Logan Gisondi, who scored the goal.
—Props: “Obviously, we are coming off a poor result on Wednesday, so we really just wanted the guys to buy in on the defensive end, and we were able to do that with the shutout. Will Fisher, Luke Weiss and Christian Patelmo played through some minor muscle issues but played great today. Louis Matullo is our other outside back and did very well on their forwards who are speedy and dangerous in the attack. We had some seniors step up. Logan Clayton is not on the scoresheet but plays holding mid and led by example today and was able to set a good example for the guys on how to work hard all over the field.”
Quakertown coach Steven Hippauf:
“We had a positive first half and created some good chances, but then conceded two sloppy corner kick goals. Second half we got away from our game a bitnand weren’t able to get back into it. We need to bounce back quick for our morning game tomorrow against Lansdale Catholic.”
Next up: H-H (2-2, 1-1 SOL) plays at Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday. Quakertown (2-2, 1-1 SOL) has a Saturday morning game against Lansdale Catholic.
Quakertown 0 0 – 0
H-H 2 1 – 3
Upper Dublin 1, Abington 1
After Abington took an early lead on a highlight reel goal by Brady Hartman, Jackson Bryan’s second-half goal knotted the score. The two squads played two scoreless overtime periods, resulting in the tie in Friday’s battle of two of the top contenders for the SOL Liberty title.
By the Numbers:
First Half –
Brady Hartman (A) from Brandon Murataj
Second Half –
Jackson Bryan (UD) from Reilly McLaughlin
UD coach Noah Johnson:
–The game: “It was at their place, and they always win at their place, so I’ll take the tie. We started out very, very slow. They dominated us the entire first half. Toward the end of the first half, we finally started to somewhat get it together. It’s always challenging going to play at Abington because it’s Abington. We’re playing on Abington’s field they play on all the time.
“The second half was a lot better. The halftime talk was, I don’t know, pleading with the boys to dig deep, not roll over and to continue to keep fighting back because our team is pretty young. With them being pretty young, not all of them have been in a stressful game where it’s like a ‘We have to win’ kind of moment, so it was very nice to see them dig deep and really take it to Abington in the second half.
“We got a surge of energy after Jackson Bryan scored and really dominated the game for a good 5-10 minutes. Three minutes after Jackson scored, he almost had another one that unfortunately hit the inside of the post and went off. After that, the game plateaued for both teams in a way.
“We both got opportunities, we both were fighting hard, but no one could find the back of the net. In overtime, both teams had plenty of opportunities. The game got really physical, and you could tell the boys knew what was on the line for both teams. It was definitely a super fun game. It’s always fun playing against Abington.Whether I like the team or not, I always love the kids and the coaching staff is so great.”
—The Scoring: “Abington scored about 15 minutes in, and hats off to their kid because it was just an amazing goal, I’m not going to lie. Brandon Murataj did an excellent job of putting the ball in, and Brady Hartman did an excellent job of creating enough space and taking a diving header and keeping it on frame and hitting the back of the net.
“We scored around the midway point of the second half. Reilly McLaughlin once again bailing us out and Jackson Bryan bailing us out. Reilly McLaughlin – after dribbling by two people – crossed the ball to a wide open Jackson Bryan in the middle of the box, and he was able to head the ball down past the keeper and make it 1-1.”
—Props: “Everyone on my team played well, but most importantly, Reilly McLaughlin and Brady Hillman, my two captains, really stepped up big time for us today. Brady fighting through multiple cramps and being literally exhausted but not coming off the field, the same thing for Reilly, who’s getting better and better every game. He continuously puts himself in a position to either create an opportunity for us or put the ball in the back of the net for us. Once again, my entire team – I have to say hats off to them for maturing and realizing we have to stop being afraid and play.”
