CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (25-16, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23)
The Patriots earned a hard-fought win over their neighboring rival.
East received big nights from Carter Haban (15 kills, three blocks, two digs) and Dylan Colbert (15 kills, three blocks, 11 digs), along with Andrew Bennett (five kills, three aces, four digs) and Christian Wolf (seven kills, four blocks, one ace). Steve Storm dished out 38 assists and added two kills, four digs and two blocks. Defensively, Jacob LaBouliere led the way with 12 digs while Thomas Gallagher-Teske contributed three kills and four blocks.
For the Bucks, Eli Gibson had a big night with 15 kills and six digs. Cole Nagle added nine kills and 10 digs, and Austin Cervasio (six kills, three blocks) and Liam Baxter (six kills, two blocks) also made important contributions. Jason Miller had 12 digs to lead the defense. Setter Adam Klapper had 41 assists. Louis Weimer added four kills and two blocks.
PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 2 (25-18, 20-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-13)
The Rams eked out a win in a battle of the neighboring rivals, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to earn the victory.
Cross Edwards led the attack with 22 kills to go along with 11 digs while Jeremy Pruss had a huge night defensively with 22 digs. Setter Corey Quaste had 46 assists to go along with six blocks. Zach Detweiler (nine kills, seven blocks) and Kevin Jones (eight kills, three blocks) also had big games. David Cassel added three kills and 12 digs while Danny Rutter (six kills) and Mike Molettiere (five kills) also made their presence felt at the net.
For the Indians, Jared Martin led the defense with 17 digs. Mike Pagan had a big game at the net with 18 kills to go along with 11 digs. Setter Luke Pagan had 28 assists and 12 digs.
“It was a competitive match – both teams played with good effort and hustle,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said. “This was our best team effort throughout the whole match. Everyone stepped up. I’m proud of the way the team stayed positive with each other.”
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-17)
Justin Burns led a balanced Rock North attack with seven kills, six assists and 2.5 blocks. Setter Nick Baniewicz had 13 assists, one dig and one ace. Eddie Mancinelli led the defense with seven digs to go along with two assists and one ace. Also contributing at the net were Harry Wyatt (four kills, two aces, one block), Jack Gunshenan (four kills, one block, one dig) and Sean D’Arcy (four kills, one dig). Chase McCcaulley had five assists, and Vytis Duncia added three kills. Also contributing were Justin Walton (two kills, one dig, one assist), Keven D’Arcy (two kills, two aces, one block), Will Hewitt (one kill, .5 block) and Herby Boucard (one block).
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, ABINGTON 1 (21-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-19)
The Golden Hawks dropped the first set in Monday’s match against the Ghosts but rallied to win the next three.
Andrew Richards (nine kills, two aces, 11 digs), Dane Paulson (two kills, seven blocks, three aces, nine digs) and Shane Slivinski (nine kills, one block, two digs) led the Golden Hawks at the net.
TJ Rodman led the Hawks’ service game with five aces to go along with a team-high 13 digs. Also making contributions were Jay Ferrara (five kills, four blocks, two aces, four digs), Dylan Baptiste (three kills, two blocks), Jake Leonard (three kills) and Joey Barrett (one ace, one dig).
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-22)
The visiting Titans earned a sweep of the Panthers on Monday.
“This was a good team win for us and we were able to have everyone contribute,” coach Matt Ehlers said.
Tim White led the Titans’ service game with four aces, four kills, a block and three digs. Andrew Rubas spread the ball around and had 16 assists along with an ace, five kills, two blocks and two digs. Joe Karn had six kills, a block and three digs. Max Fabiscewski recorded a block and kill, both were varsity firsts. Mason Zeo led defensively with seven digs and also had a kill and two aces.
PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-7, 25-13, 25-18)
