PENNRIDGE 15, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 11
The visiting Rams opened up a 7-2 halftime lead and then fought off a Titan comeback attempt in the second half to earn the huge conference win.
“We had a great game against CB West, and I think my girls finally realized that if they start working together as a team and we start executing our plays –which we did to a ‘t’ tonight – that we can compete with the number one and number two teams in our league,” Pennridge coach Karen Schnurr said. “CB South won the league last year, and CB West is undefeated, so to be able to compete with them – I think last week (a 16-11 loss to West) was an eye opener to them that they could do this. They just played with lots of passion and lots of heart tonight. They really wanted it.”
The Titans pulled to within three (14-11) late in the second half but would get no closer.
“They definitely started to come back,” Schnurr said. “We called a timeout and tried to regroup.
“We told them – possession and control of the ball was key and just being poised under pressure. They were doubling the ball, and we were just trying to remain poised and controlled.”

“The defense doesn’t really get a lot of stats, but they played great. Avery Meiners and Kira Ozer stepped up big today. I put Avery Meiners on Anna Green at one point, and she was able to shut her down.
“We thought for the first time this season this was a team win. Everybody did their role, everyone did their jobs, and that is why we were successful.”
A bright spot in the loss for the Titans was the four-goal effort of junior Kasey Dietzel, who reached the 100-goal milestone midway through the second half.
“Kasey Dietzel played fantastic today,” South coach Janique Craig said. “We played a hard game without top player Courtney Taylor (injury).
“I am really proud of how the girls played today.”
