Boys
SOL Patriot Division
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2, HARRY S TRUMAN 1 (2 OT)
One day after clinching their program’s fourth consecutive division crown, the Indians were extended to overtime by a spirited Truman squad.
Logan Adams turned a Ben Purcaro pass into the game-winner in the second overtime to give the Indians the dramatic win.
“An eventful game, more so than what I needed,” Rock North varsity assistant Brian Hoffman said.
Adams (David Morais assist) gave the Indians an early 1-0 lead, a lead that stood until Angel Paz scored the equalizer on a highlight reel goal, setting to stage for overtime.
Scoring summary

Logan Adams (CRN) from David Morais, 13th minute

Logan Adams (CRN) from Ben Purcaro 93rd minute
Second Overtime
Council Rock North varsity assistant Brian Hoffman:
–On the game: “We controlled the play for 90 percent of the game. They were bend-but-don’t-break. They played a high line, and we probably got called off-sides probably 15-20 times.”
–The game-winner: “Ben Pucaro is playing an outside mid position. He overlapped our outside winger, Matt Broznya, and played a beautiful ball back in the middle. Logan Adams took an extra touch to make sure he had it and pushed it past the goaltender for the win.”
–Tip of the hat to Truman: “Their goal was phenomenal, and that’s the understatement of the world. This young man (Angel Paz) will be telling his grandkids about the goal he scored. It was probably about 35 out from the corner of the 18, and it was well-struck – the ball just dropped to the far post.
“Their goaltender (Eddie Krause) probably made 20 saves, and I’d say about 10 of them were one-on-one breakaway type saves. He played out of his mind.”
–Props: “Logan Adams with the two goals. David Morais in the midfield played fantastic. Ben Purcaro – even before he had the assist – sprung free a number of guys, played really well-weighted balls behind a high line that created multiple opportunities for us.”
Up next: Council Rock North – 11th in the latest District 1 4A power rankings – will return to action in Tuesday’s opening round of the district tournament. Tuesday’s game marked the end of the season for Harry S Truman.

The Redskins celebrated Senior Night with a hard-fought win, and appropriately, it was a pair of seniors connecting for the game-winner late in the first overtime when Emmy Rooney turned a pass from Aislyn Fitzgerald into a goal.
Earlier, after VJM took a 1-0 lead in the opening half, senior Cassidy Tweedie scored the equalizer in the second half.

Neshaminy coach Josh Van Reed: “Really proud of the effort tonight from everyone. This was a tough game against a tough team. Right from the beginning it was physical. In the first half, Villa went up early, and we did have some good looks at the goal but just couldn’t seem to get anything to connect right.
–Second half: “Second half we were playing into the wind, so it made things a little more difficult playing from behind. But we know we wanted to keep the ball moving quickly. Right away our girls came out and kept the pressure on, but Villa seemed to be able to stop or interrupt us in the final third. Finally, we tied it up off a free kick from the corner of the box. Lily Kaczmarek hit a short ball to Aislyn Fitzgerald who was able to turn and shoot and Cassidy Tweedie was able to put in the rebound. It was great that Lily had the presence of mind to read the situation and figure out where to go.
“From there till the end of regulation, both teams just seem determined not to give the other any room.”
–Overtime: “Going into overtime, we just reminded them about putting in that little extra effort that’s needed at these times. So, as the first overtime was winding down, Aislyn Fitzgerald got behind the defense and hit a hard ball on the ground to Emmy Rooney for the game winner. A very exciting end to our senior night.
Tribute to the seniors: “We had ten seniors to honor tonight. They were Erin Dougherty, Aislyn Fitzgerald, Bri Garyah, Ava Hood, Nana Ofosu-Mensah, Emmy Rooney, Chloe Santangelo, Mia Stock, Cassidy Tweedie and Natalie Weidle. Our seniors have given so much to the program the past four years and this year they have really set the tone from the beginning about what is expected and carried on the traditions of past teams. They look out for each other and want to see each other succeed. I’m so proud of them and the great game that everyone played tonight.”
Up next: Neshaminy will travel to Bensalem for Wednesday’s SOL finale (7pm).
