NESHAMINY 1, SOUTHERN LEHIGH 1 (2 OT)
The Redskins had the better of play in Tuesday’s non-league road game, but they were forced to settle for a tie.
Southern Lehigh got on the scoreboard 15 minutes into the second half, converting a penalty kick. The Redskins evened the score when Rezi Tebidze scored on the rebound of a goalie save late in the second half. That marked the end of the scoring for both sides.
Scoring Summary
1st half – No score
2nd half
SL – Penalty kick 55th minute (1-0)
N –Rez Tebidze 70th minute (1-1)
OT – No score
Coach Tom Foley on the game: “It was one of those nights, the ball was down on their end for 85 percent of the match, but we couldn’t get on the end of some really good crosses and balls played across the middle.
“We should’ve had a PK in the first half. Dylan Reheil got taken down in the box, apparently neither ref saw the infraction, and it was 0-0 at the half. The refs saw us hand a ball in the box about 15 minutes into the second half. They converted the PK. We turned up the pressure and created chances but still couldn’t break through.”
–The equalizer: “We pulled one of our center backs with 10 minutes left in favor of another forward. This allowed us to finally tie the score. Dylan Reheil beat his man down the right side and fed the ball to Christos Vasilarikos, who got the shot away. The goalkeeper made the initial save. Fortunately, Rezi Tebidze put in the rebound.
–Overtime: “OT was much of the same – (we were ) down their end but couldn’t get on the end of anything.”
–All tied up: “Our boys played hard even when we gave up the PK. They showed some real character earning the tie. Moving forward, we need to find a way to finish our chances.”
–Props: “Rezi had his way all night and played really hard. Damien Castro and Christos Vasilarikos did great job in the midfield. Mark Andreyeu continues to excel at the center back position. He is our anchor in the back.”
Next up: Neshaminy (1-1-1) will host Bensalem in Wednesday’s SOL opener.

PENNRIDGE 2, WILSON-WEST LAWN 0
The Rams made Tuesday’s long bus trip to Reading worth the trip, turning in a stellar defensive effort to notch third win in as many games and first shutout of the young season.
The Rams scored a goal in each half with Emma Shaeffer finding the back of the net in the first half for a goal that stood as the game-winner and Madigan Posey adding an insurance goal in the second half.
The Rams will continue a busy week that includes three games in four days when they host Souderton for their annual Community Night on Wednesday.

1st half
P – Emma Shaeffer from Caitlyn Peace (1-0)
2nd half
P – Madigan Posey from Kaylie Thran (2-0)
Coach Audrey Anderson: “I think we are still working through some things. We have been getting a little bit better each time we play. We have a lot of younger players getting meaningful minutes and getting some great experience in real game situations.”
–Props: “Caitlyn (Peace) was very dynamic tonight. She had some really good looks at the goal, a great heads-up play from her to put in a hard cross where Emma was able to finish with her head.
“Gabby Herrmann and Addy Mills in the back were able to keep any players from Wilson from getting a clean look at the goal.”
Next up: Pennridge (3-0) will celebrate Community Night Wednesday when the Rams host Souderton (7 pm).

NESHAMINY 5, ST. HUBERT’S 2
Neshaminy took care of business in a hurry in Tuesday’s non-league contest at Philly Soccer Club, opening up a 4-0 halftime lead and rolling to the non-league win.
Four players contributed goals in the first half with Anna Axenroth, Kylie Maxwell, Ava Hood and Taylor Maxwell each scoring a goal. When Kyle Maxwell connected on her second goal, the Redskins led 5-0.
The Bambies scored a pair of late goals after the outcome had long since been decided.
Scoring Summary
1st half
N – Anna Axenroth from Kylie Maxwell, 5th minute (1-0)
N – Kylie Maxwell from Anna Axenroth, 10th minute (2-0)
N – Ava Hood from Taylor Maxwell, 13th minute (3-0)
N – Taylor Maxwell, 20th minute (4-0)
2nd half
N – Kylie Maxwell, 49th minute (5-0)
SH – Goal, 72nd minute (5-1)
SH – Goal, 76th minute (5-2)
Coach Josh Van Reed on the win: “Before the game started, I talked to the girls about some specific runs I would like to see from them and the quality of shots on goal. There have been a lot of games and not a lot of practices, so I was eager to see them try and do what we are asking of them.
“They really stepped up today. Having a busy week – three games in four days, it was nice to rotate in players and keep fresh legs. We have some good players coming in and giving us quality minutes who are still getting settled in. It’s going to be a big help late in the season.”
–The scoring: “The first goal was a great build-up of a through ball to the corner where Kylie Maxwell collected it and put the cross back post in the air to Anna Axenroth, who hit a one-time ball to open the scoring. Both the cross and the shot were so quick – it was nice to see. Then they reversed it. Anna put a ball into the box near post where Kylie beat her opponent to the ball and tucked it away to put us up 2-0 pretty quick. The next three goals each were all well taken shots, Ava Hood and Taylor each hit balls from outside the box hard and low where is difficult to get, and Kylie – brewing through the defense – hit a ball in the upper 90.”
–Props: “Standouts today Abby (Collins) and Taylor (Maxwell) in the midfield switching the play and controlling the field, Kylie (Maxwell) with the ability to create goal scoring opportunities and Keira Siwinski and Cassidy Tweedie defensively winning balls. The girls are continuing to improve and working hard.”
Next up: Neshaminy (4-1) will play its sixth game of the young season – and first SOL game – Wednesday at Bensalem.
