SOL Patriot Division
NESHAMINY 5, PENNSBURY 0
The Redskins clinched at least a share of their seventh straight division title with Monday’s win over the Falcons.
Chloe Brison set the tone for a big night for the Redskins when she scored less than a minute into the game.
Kasey Rieger scored a pair of goals in the second quarter – the first with an assist from Paige Comer and the second on a penalty stroke. The Redskins took that 3-0 lead into halftime.
In the fourth quarter, the Redskins put the finishing touches on the big win, thanks to goals from Mia Brooks (Rieger assist) and Claire Saloky (Brooks assist).
Scoring Summary
First quarter
Chloe Brison (N) unassisted 14:17
Second quarter
Kasey Rieger (N) from Paige Comer, 9:06
Kasey Rieger (N) Penalty stroke 5:50
Third quarter – No score
Fourth quarter
Mia Brooks (N) from Kasey Rieger, 4:46
Claire Saloky (N) from Mia Brooks, 2:06
Neshaminy coach Jamie Pinto on the game: “Tonight was a total team effort, I couldn’t be more proud of the way we played. We have made some adjustments, and the girls have stepped up when we needed them the most. We were able to score early— Chloe Brison was able to get a quick shot off from the top, which helped set the tone for the rest of the game.”
–Props: “Chloe Brison and Kasey Rieger worked well together up top, and Kasey worked hard to get open and use her skill and speed to generate offense. Midfielders Claire Saloky and Paige Comer worked well on the outside of the field— they were able to find the forwards and worked well with Mia Brooks and Ava Arbakov in the center. Mia Brooks stepped up in the middle, distributing the ball well and helping to generate offense.
“Tonight, we were able to connect on our passing and work the ball nicely down the field and capitalize in the circle. Hailey Wert stepped in and stepped up tonight playing solid defense. Defensively, Alayna Roscoe, Reese Merrill and Taylor Tenaglia all did a nice job stepping up and reading the plays in front of them— as a unit, they played strong and smart.”
Up next: Neshaminy (11-3, 8-0 SOL) will travel to Harry S Truman Wednesday, and Pennsbury will host Council Rock North (7 pm).

The script was flipped on the Pennsbury Falcons as they came out on the losing side of a 5-0 game Monday night against Neshaminy. It was in stark contrast to their 5-0 win over Bensalem six days earlier.
The Skins didn’t waste any time connecting to make it 1-0 in the first minute of the game. “There is not much to say except that Neshaminy out hustled, out skilled, outran, out-shot, outsmarted, and just plain outplayed us from start to finish,” said coach Traci Curtis. “There were some bright flashes for us, but not nearly enough to be a threat.”
The Falcons held the score at 1-0 until about halfway through the second quarter with the help of great defense by senior Ayla Alon. Neshaminy tallied two goals in the second (one of the goals was scored on a stroke they earned), sending the game into halftime up 3-0.
The Falcons came out in the third with some defensive fight and the score stayed 3-0 going into the fourth with no scoring from either side.
“Our defense was busy all night and really stayed strong in the third quarter – shoutout to defenders Ayla Alon, Cailyn Reilly, Payton Worth, Jacqueline Sullivan, Avalee Shumski, and goalie Abby McCole (16 saves) for some good stops,” Curtis said. “Unfortunately, we could not create enough offensive momentum and capitalize or finish on opportunities. Our mids and forwards were working hard but not connecting in an effective way.
“Neshaminy has strong sticks and smart players at every turn. When we found ourselves with momentum, they didn’t allow it to last very long and that is tough to beat.”
Neshaminy iced the cake in the fourth, never letting down for a second, adding two more goals to put an exclamation on their victory.
The Falcons will look to turn it around on Wednesday night as they celebrate their seniors and host Council Rock North.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1 (OT)
It was another classic battle between the rival schools with Rock North eking out the overtime win when Sierra Kim turned a pass from Brynn Bogle into a goal with two minutes remaining in OT.
Earlier, in the second quarter, North took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Kate Horan. The Golden Hawks evened the score on a fourth-quarter goal by Elise Lindros, setting the stage for overtime.

Council Rock North coach Jules Singer on the game: “It was a great win from the girls. We have had an emphasis on playing confidently and backing each other up and taking risks. They did a great job.
“South is always good competition. It is always a battle. We knew we had to come out and play 60 minutes of hockey and we did that. I’m so proud of the girls.”
–Props: “Cara was a rock in cage. Addie, Julia and Taylor did a great job on defense. Kailyn, Sierra, Megan, and Izzy did a great job distributing the ball in the midfield, and Brynn, Kate, and Morgan did a great job on the forward line.”
Council Rock South coach Kelly Cappellano on the game: “This was a tough game because our goals we score never reflect how good we play in a game. We played great defense, and we got the ball in their circle multiple times.
“Even playing down a girl in OT we were able to regroup, but at the end of the day, we have to capitalize more on the chances we get in front of the cage in regulation time.”
–Props: “Sarah and Maria Freeman in the middle of the field had a spectacular game with Elise Lindros tying the game to send us into OT. Taylor Hume had nice saves to keep us in the game, and Mia Schink had great carries down the sidelines.”
Up next: Council Rock North (8-8, 6-2 SOL) will travel to Pennsbury Wednesday (7 pm), and Council Rock South (6-6-3, 4-4-0) will be on the road at Bensalem Wednesday.

BENSALEM 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
Truman celebrated its team’s seniors, but it was the Owls who celebrated the win.
Giuliana Pasquarella scored just over three minutes into the game – her goal turned out to be the game-winner, but she was injured shortly thereafter and forced to leave the game.
Ava Hood tacked on an insurance goal with 17 seconds remaining in the half, turning a pass from Mollie Reilly into a goal.
In the third quarter, freshman Kylie Blank scored her sixth goal of the season for the 3-0 final.
Scoring Summary
First quarter
Giuliana Pasquarella (B)
Second quarter
Ava Hood (B) from Mollie Reilly
Third quarter
Kylie Blank (B)
Fourth quarter – No score
Bensalem coach Gary Kubik on the game: “Congratulations to Truman’s seniors who were recognized tonight. It was a feisty game from the start as both teams wanted to get back on the winning track.”
The scoring: “Bensalem started the scoring off with a backhand lifted shot from Giuliana Pasquarella just 3 minutes and 33 seconds into the game. Pasquarella was injured shortly thereafter from an errant stick and had to leave the game. The Owls seemed to respond well to the loss of one of their captains and leaders with another goal with just 17 seconds left in the first half. With time running out in the quarter, sophomore Mollie Reilly made a nice little run into the circle on her backhand that found its way onto the stick of Ava Hood who finished with a nice flick past the Truman goalie. It was Hood’s third goal of the season. Toward the end of the third quarter, freshman Kylie Blank scored her sixth goal of the season unassisted. That’s the way the game finished with a solid 3-0 win for the Owls.
–Props: “The Bensalem defense of Casey Bush, Maggie McLaughlin, Paige Schiefer, Reagan Colgan and Olivia Cervantes, along with senior goalies Brianna Swanson and Emily Adams helped to complete their fourth shutout of the year.
“Haley Groves really stepped up with the loss of Pasquarella early on, and midfielders Veronica Lennon and Makayla Dunkin tightened up the middle of the field. It was probably Lennon’s best game as an Owl, commanding her zone and making very powerful runs when they were available to her. She’s becoming a leader in only her second year in high school. I can’t wait to see what her future holds.”
Up next: Bensalem (5-9, 2-6 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Wednesday, and Harry S Truman (1-13, 0-7) will host Neshaminy Wednesday.

SOL Colonial Division
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, SOUDERTON 0
The Bucks defended a SOL Colonial Division title they owned, clinching sole possession of the division crown with Monday’s win.
“We are beyond thrilled to win the SOL Colonial Division championship for the second consecutive year,” West coach Lori Ierubino said. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players. The culture shift I’ve seen over the past few years since coming to West has been remarkable, with a renewed focus on hard work, teamwork and resilience.”
With just under six minutes remaining in the opening quarter, Heidi Schoenleber scored with an assist from Aida Ierubino during corner play. The Bucks took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
The third quarter featured a pair of West goals – the first a highlight reel goal.
“Eve Damsker hit a Bryce Harper, one-time bomb on a bouncy rocket pass from Aida Ierubinio on a corner,” coach Ierubino said. “I don’t know how she did it except she is an exceptional multisport athlete.”
Ierubiino closed out the scoring with an impressive goal of her own, scoring on a 65-yard breakaway for the 3-0 final.
“It’s so satisfying to witness how our players have come together, leveraging their individual skills to achieve collective success in such a competitive league,” Ierubino said. “While we celebrate this victory, our eyes are set on future, loftier goals in districts and states. We’re excited, but the hunger for more drives us to push even harder. We hope to keep building on this momentum and continue to elevate CB West hockey.”

Central Bucks West coach Lori Ierubino on the game: “This was a total team effort resulting in us controlling the game, especially the first half. Souderton is always a competitive, high intensity game. Their players are competitive and aggressive with solid basic skills and exceptional circle defense.
“The first time we played Souderton this season, we had a 2-0 lead going into the half, and they rallied and forced overtime. We are a much more developed team than we were at that early stage in the season, but we remembered that and never let up.”
–Props: “(Souderton) had a more threatening second half for sure; however, we had solid performances from our veterans like Aida, Eve, Kendra and Heidi. And simple, consistent high-level play from our more novice varsity players like Zola Morelli, Margot Trask, Claire Demmer, and Lucy Smith. I am so proud of this team and, more important, is their pride in themselves and total team spirit.”
Souderton coach Sue Casciato on the game: “There’s no denying that CB West is a very physical, talented team. They’ve improved a lot since our last meeting. But I was really proud of our team’s effort, especially the second half. We controlled play the last 30 minutes, but we continue to struggle in our offensive circle.
“West’s goalie (Kendra Pitts) was really solid, and Aida (Ierubino) has some of the fastest hands I’ve seen on a player.”
Up next: Central Bucks West (13-2, 8-0 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks South Wednesday (7 pm), and Souderton (11-4, 5-3) will host Central Bucks East (6:30 pm).

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0, PENNRIDGE 0 (OT)
Neither team could find the goal cage, forcing both to settle for a scoreless tie, but this was one of those rare occasions when both coaches were pleased with their team’s performance.
Pennridge coach Elena Romesburg on the game: “It was an incredibly competitive game, and I am really proud and excited of how well we played on all ends of the field. We connected on a lot of passes through the midfield.
“I’m excited to continue our second round of league play Wednesday night at North Penn and to continue to grow as a unit.”
–Props: “Seniors Leah Verespy and Alyssa Gobrecht created opportunities, pushing up the right side. Freshman Deegan Smith has continued to come into each game and make a solid impact all over the field. Big shoutout to our defense and corner ‘D’ squad. We have continued to get better, and they kept us in the game.
“Gianna Nulty, Kira Mangin, Dhwani Bengali and Elsa Parsons really implemented what we’ve been working in practice and have bought into playing tough and aggressive defense. They really owned the defensive circle, especially when East was able to get some good balls through to their forwards.
“Goalie Charlotte Gozzard made some really solid saves in the back. We were able to stay positive and battled through a really complete, well-rounded game.”
–Coaching connection: “Emma Rosenthal over at East is a close friend of mine, so it’s always awesome to see her and she always has those girls ready to go. Coaching there the past few years was a great experience, and I loved seeing all of the girls, especially that group of seniors. They played a phenomenal game. Would’ve loved to get another overtime quarter in.”
Central Bucks East coach Emma Rosenthal on the game: “We really played as a team today. Some of the best team hockey we’ve played all season. We really just couldn’t finish, but I’m extremely proud of us for playing hard the whole regulation and never giving up.”
–Props: “Our defense held strong in the back (Cam Puhalla, Maddie Mandia, Avery McCann, Katie Szczypiorski, Morgan Harrington). Anna Daly and Aly McIsaac did a great job controlling the game in the midfield.”
Up next: Central Bucks East (5-8-3, 2-5-1 SOL) will travel to Souderton Wednesday (6:30 pm), and Pennridge (5-9-1, 1-6-1 SOL) will be on the road at North Penn (7 pm).

The Knights held their first ever Play for the Cure game organized by the seniors.
“I am proud that my seniors wanted to organize a game like this, and they wanted to give back in some way,” North Penn coach Shannon McCracken said. “They are a caring and thoughtful group of kids who recognize the impact they can have on and off the playing field.”
The Knights’ first goal late in the opening quarter featured the Barwis connection with Ashleigh assisting on a goal by Kylie. Ashleigh Barwis also set up the Knights’ second goal by Erika Pickford in the second quarter that sent the Knights into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
The Titans made things interesting when Tessa Walls scored on the rebound of a goalie save in a scrum in front of goal.”
Neither teams scored the rest of the way.

North Penn coach Shannon McCracken on the game: “Both (our) goals tonight were scrappy plays in front of the goal and I am pleased that we were able to execute as we have been focusing on our offensive circle play. CB South is a scrappy team who doesn’t back down, and I am glad we were able to maintain more possession especially late in the game.”
–Props: “Senior midfielder Laura Albert continued to lead the way, making key plays offensively and defensively to secure the victory tonight. Senior backs Rhyan Poole and Kirstyn Schoppe had strong games to fend off the CB South attack.”
Central Bucks South coach Kelli Chioffe on the game: “Freshman goalkeeper Nora McQueen (10 saves) played exceptional today. Center back Sophia Kraft made three defensive saves in the loss. Forward Tessa Walls played well. She never let up and was able to get us on the scoreboard tonight. North Penn had a great lift on a corner that was initially saved, but then they got the rebound. We will continue to fight in this challenging Colonial Division one game at a time.”

It took some time for the Panthers to get their offense untracked.
Katelyn Landis broke a scoreless tie with a goal three minutes into the second quarter, and the Panthers took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The second half was another story entirely.
In the third quarter, the Panthers added a pair of goals – one each from Paige Longacre and Emma Stalletti – to go into the fourth quarter with a 3-0 lead. Longacre connected for her second goal 33 seconds into the final quarter, and two minutes later Cassidy Landis scored an unassisted goal. Sunny Draper closed out the scoring with a goal midway through the quarter.
Cassidy Landis and Draper both contributed a goal and an assist.
With two games remaining in division play, the Panthers hold a one game lead in the battle for the division’s top spot, and they can determine their own fate. On Wednesday, they will have an opportunity to avenge their only division loss when they fell to the Trojans 4-1 on Sept. 9.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 1, LOWER MORELAND 0
Olivia Conte scored the game’s only goal midway through the opening quarter, using a Danielle Wilson assist. With the win, New Hope clinched sole possession of the Freedom Division crown that Springfield Twp owned last year.
“This is something that was always a goal of ours,” NH-S coach Gwen Smith said. “It’s exciting to do it. Last year, we fell short a little bit in a lot of things, and they were really wanting to tighten it up and see what we could do this year.”
Monday’s game was Lower Moreland’s Pink game.
Scoring Summary
First quarter
Olivia Conte (NH-S) from Danielle Wilson 8:34
New Hope-Solebury coach Gwen Smith on the game: “We started strong, we did a nice job controlling the field. Lower Moreland always has a strong defense. Their goalie made some really nice saves, and we just had a really hard time connecting and getting it in, so I’m thankful we scored early.
“At this point in the season, we really need to be upping our game. That’s what we’ve been emphasizing, and we’ve been doing a nice job controlling – the midfield’s controlling, but we just have to tighten up more in our offensive circle.
–Credit to LM: “Lower Moreland is just a great team to play – it’s always a dogfight. They’re well coached, they have good game plans. Their defense was just really good, and their goalie made some really nice plays as well, so kudos to them.”
–Props: “We’re doing a good job possessing the ball, controlling it and getting some good offensive drives. The mids and defense are just doing a really nice job. We just need to finish.”
Lower Moreland coach Janet Lutter on the game: “New Hope came out ready in the first and scored about halfway through the opening quarter. We came out a bit slow but bounced back after New Hope’s goal. Overall, I am proud of how the girls played. In the second half, we were able to move the ball much better and pressed further into New Hope’s territory. Once again, our defense came up big. There have been many games this season where they have kept us in the game. After making some changes our defensive corners have improved greatly. Goalie Jordyn MacPhee had 13 saves on the day. New Hope is always a tough game for us. This season we have been right there with them in both meetings but can’t get the win.”
