Upper Dublin celebrated its 8th Annual Corners for Cancer event with a big win over the visiting Golden Bears. The preliminary total raised is $9,600, bringing the team’s eight-year total to over $50,000 donated to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
On the field, the Flying Cardinals raced to a 4-1 halftime lead. The Golden Bears got on the scoreboard first when Maddie Mull scored seven minutes into the game, using a Noelle Woodman assist. Seven minutes later, Maddie Templeton (Jess Grodsky assist) found the cage with the equalizer, and it was Molly Lunney (Templeton assist) scoring the go-ahead goal at the 10:17 mark. A pair of goals in an explosive 80-second span late in the half by Shannon Reape (Marlee Siegel assist) and Grodsky (Reape assist) sent the Cardinals into halftime with a 4-1 lead.
Second half goals by Upper Dublin's Reape and the Golden Bear's Woodman (Jessica Flanagan assist) gave the Cards their final margin of victory.
UD coach Heather Boyer credited the strong play of Siegel and Templeton in the midfield.
Sarah Herchenroder and Meghan Muth (three saves) split time in goal for the Cardinals in the win. UM’s Allison Felicetti recorded 17 saves.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 4, PENNSBURY 0
The Bucks, according to coach Courtney Lepping, were hit with another major injury, topping off an injury-plagued week, but they found a way to earn the shutout win.
Senior Bryn Boylan put the Bucks on the scoreboard at the 19:54 mark of the first half.
“The goal came after a beautiful burst of speed and elimination skills from Bryn that left her at the top of the circle with space to shoot,” Lepping said.
Ryan Murray scored with 3:29 remaining to send the Bucks into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Boylan’s second goal on a shot from the top early in the second half upped the Bucks’ advantage to three. Taylor Mason connected on the final goal of the game at the 18:56 mark.
“Taylor eliminated several players to earn space by the goal to flick the ball in,” Lepping said. “Defensively, we were strong and consistent throughout the entire game.
“Casey Reichwein and Abby Gilvary played consistent throughout and were able to keep Pennsbury from mustering many shots. With injuries plaguing our team, several players had to step up to fill in the gaps. Bridget Naylor and Anya DeAngelis did just that and came in and played hard. Ryan Murray was all over the field today, putting pressure on Pennsbury passes.”
Central Bucks West (6-2-1, 4-1-1 SOL) will host Mount St. Joseph on Monday in a rematch of last year’s District One quarterfinal contest – a 4-3 West win.
