SOL Crossover
ABINGTON 3, LOWER MORELAND 1
Maddie Slavin scored a pair of goals, and Erica Devlin added a goal that turned out to be the game-winner after the Lions tied the game in the fourth quarter.
“We finally played 60 minutes of Abington hockey,” Abington coach Katie Small said. “The girls did a really nice job transitioning the ball from the back end to the attack today with sharp passing and great runs.”
Slavin scored an unassisted goal in the opening quarter, and that 1-0 score stood until LM’s Liz Neeld knotted the score with a goal in the fourth quarter. The Ghosts answered with a pair of goals in the final five minutes of the game – both during corner play. Devlin connected on a goal that turned out to be a game-winner, using an assist from Devan DiMaria, and Slavin finished off a passing sequence from DiMaria and Camryn Stewart for her second goal of the game.
“We really dug deep and turned up our intensity for the last six minutes, putting two more goals in the net,” said Small, going on to laud the efforts of several players. “Camryn Stewart and Olivia Dougherty did a great job controlling the middle of the field and distributing the ball outside to get it down the field.
“Tara Hughes played a solid game in the backfield. We have a quick turnaround with Cheltenham tomorrow.”
Abington held an advantage in shots (14-2) and corners (8-2).
LM goalie Sarah Rosala had 12 saves on the day, and defensive back Kathleen Chen chipped in with a defensive save.
“We struggled to get our offense going, but our defense kept us in the game,” LM coach Janet Lutter said.
Abington (5-2, 4-2 SOL) will host Cheltenham on Tuesday, and Lower Moreland (5-3, 3-3) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham.

Non-league
NESHAMINY 2, LAWRENCEVILLE 1
The visiting Redskins fell behind early in the third quarter but rallied to score a pair, edging Lawrenceville for the non-league win on Monday.
“Coming off a long week last week and a tough loss against (Council Rock) South on Saturday, we played well today,” Neshaminy coach Jamie Pinto said. “It took us a little bit to get moving, but we figured it out and finished strong.
“It was a good win before we begin our crossover games this week. We will continue to play hard and work together as a team.”
Lawrenceville’s Caitlin Hoover scored midway through the third quarter, but the Redskins answered when Avery McGinty – with a minute remaining in the frame – scored with an assist from Colette Schardt. With 4:35 remaining, Ava Arbakov scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner, using an assist from Kasey Rieger
Neshaminy (6-2, 5-2 SOL) will travel to North Penn on Tuesday.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 4, DOCK MENNONITE ACADEMY 1
The visiting Spartans were opportunistic, capitalizing on their scoring opportunities to open up a 3-0 halftime lead on their way to a 4-1 win in a game Dock dominated statistically.
“Tonight’s game with Dock was a tough contest,” coach Anita Stum said. “Springfield had some good scoring opportunities and put the ball in the net when those opportunities came. Dock played hard for every minute of the contest.”
In the opening quarter, Emma Nelson scored an unassisted goal, and then it was Stella Nelson scoring with an assist from Norah Conlin. Annie Coll’s goal during corner play with a Yoder assist iin the second quarter sent the Spartans into halftime with a 3-0 lead. In the third quarter, Abby Congdon turned a pass from Hailey Lesniak into a goal that put the Spartans on top 4-0 before Dock’s Olivia Zaskoda scored in the fourth quarter for the 4-1 final.
“The defense did a great job,” Stum said. “Abby Congdon really has been stepping it up over the last two games. Hailey Lesniak and Emily Jackson played a solid game. Goalkeeper Erin Roy had an outstanding game in goal. The defense is starting to build their confidence.”
The Pioneers held a 5-4 edge in corners and a lopsided 12-2 advantage in corners. Roy’s eight-save effort in goal helped negate Dock’s statistical advantage.

HAVERFORD 1, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
The Golden Hawks had plenty of opportunities to get on the scoreboard, but it was the visiting Fords breaking a scoreless tie in the third quarter.
“We had some trouble capitalizing on our opportunities today,” said Rock South coach Colette Paprocki, whose team held an advantage in both shots (18-3) and corners (13-5). We generated 13 corners and 18 shots but, unfortunately, couldn’t find the back of the cage.
“Haverford had really good sticks and did a nice job playing hard the entire game. Their goalie (16 saves) had a lot of nice saves. I was happy with the offense that we generated, and we had some good passing combinations.”
Haverford’s Morgan Elliott (Ella VanLuvender) scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner with 11:54 remaining in the third quarter.
Council Rock South (6-3, 6-1 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks West for a crossover game on Tuesday.

EMMAUS 8, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
Emmaus boasts a dazzling resume that includes 13 state titles and 35 District XI crowns (32 consecutive). Coach Sue Butz-Stavin – after Monday’s win – is just four wins shy of the 1,000-win mark.
Last fall, the Hornets brought an end to the Patriots’ season in the state playoffs, eking out a 1-0 win. On Monday, the Hornets – fresh off a 3-0 week that saw them outscore their opponents 26-0 – notched their ninth win without a loss.
“Today was a tough fought game against an incredibly strong team,” East coach Emma Rosenthal said. “Our defensive unit held incredibly strong and did not allow Emmaus to get many corners on us.
“Grace Gidwani had another good showing in goal with 15 saves, and senior Kiera Lamb has remained a strong force for us in the backfield as well. Playing against the defending state champs was an opportunity for us to challenge ourselves and be ready for the tough games that we still have ahead. I am proud of everyone on the team for playing all four quarters today with an immense amount of heart.”
Central Bucks East (4-3, 4-2 SOL) will travel to Bensalem on Tuesday.
