Upper Moreland notched a convincing non-league win Thursday to up its record to 3-0.

UPPER MORELAND 41, JOHN BARTRAM 8
The night belonged to Aidan Tuffy.
The UM senior accounted for four TDs in Thursday’s contest, and he scored in just about every way imaginable.
“The story of the game is Aidan Tuffy,” UM coach Adam Beach said. “He scored two rushing, one receiving, and he scooped up a fumble and took it 90 yards for a touchdown as well.”
Tuffy’s scoop-and-score capped a 21-point first quarter for the Golden Bears, who controlled play from the outset and took a three-touchdown lead into the second quarter.
“He was in the backfield, and he broke a run for a touchdown,” Beach said. “He broke another run for a touchdown and then he caught a touchdown pass.”
Elijah Davis scored a touchdown late in the game, and Braden Moore also had a TD, but Tuffy stole the spotlight.
“He’s a very good player for us and did a lot for us last year, but tonight, with what they were doing schematically, they left him open, so we took advantage,” Beach said of Tuffy. “It was his night to score, and he didn’t make many mistakes.”
The Golden Bears controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
“Alex Costanzo defensively played very well, and so did Jimmy Baker,” said Beach of two players who anchored the defensive and offensive lines respectively. “Our O-line played well.”
Justin Valentin didn’t have a whole lot of carries, but he made the most of his opportunities.
“He had a couple of nice runs,” Beach said. “He had one run that was really nice. The other coach actually congratulated him at the end of the game, so it was very impressive.
“Three guys were getting him, and they jumped on top of them, and he basically carried them five yards before he hit the deck. That was a pretty nice play.”
With the win, the Golden Bears upped their record to 3-0.
“It was really good – I’m happy for our kids,” Beach said. “We got a lot of points up, so we played a lot of young kids, which is always good to see. They got a taste for football under the lights. It was a good night for everyone.”
Upper Moreland (3-0) will be on the road at Interboro for a non-league game next Friday.
