By the numbers: Central Bucks West: Olivia Barrett (6 G, 2 A, 6 DC, 3 GB, 3 CTO), Ainsley Shissler (6 G, 1 DC), Kamryn Brownlow (1 A, 6 DC, 3 GB, 3 CTO), Adelaide Stromberg (2 G, 1 CTO), Zola Morelli (1 G, 1 GB, 2 CTO), Kendra Pitts (4 saves, 2 GB), Lucy Crosland (1 save, 1 GB).
Central Bucks West coach Elena Romesburg: “It was definitely a cold one out there but I was proud of how the team rebounded coming off of a tough loss to Radnor and no practices in between. It was a great way to open up at home and continue with our tough out-of-conference schedule.”
—Dominating draws: “My draw unit of Olivia Barrett, Kam Brownlow, and Ainsley Shissler really had a great night. They take a lot of pride in their communication, and they have put a ton of work into making this a consistent element of our game. Kam Brownlow had an amazing night in the midfield causing turnovers and doing all the little things on the field that don’t always show in the stat book. She is coming off a 3 goal, 1 assist performance against Radnor, so she is truly a do it all midfielder. Olivia Barrett also had a tremendous game in the midfield. I lean on her to do a lot on the field and she had a very complete game.
—Props: “Zola Morelli and Addy Stromberg also had very consistent games in the midfield. Sophomore Ainsley Shissler also exploded on the offensive end and showed she is a threat in transition as a dodger and cutter.”
Up next: West will host Easton at 6:30 pm Friday.

We did well transitioning to offense and did a great job stopping Lansdale Catholic in their transition. Our attack is continuing to work together and learn how each other plays to be the best unit.”
—Props: “Our defense of Maggie Brophy, Kendall Hurley, Leah King, and Maddy Frantz really did a great job of getting a lot of stops off the draw and throughout the whole game. They played together as a unit.

Council Rock North 13, Owen J. Roberts 12 (OT)
(Submitted by Council Rock North girls lacrosse)
In an exciting early-season battle, Council Rock North earned a hard-fought 13-12 overtime victory on Saturday over the Owen J. Roberts Wildcats — one of the strongest lacrosse programs in Pennsylvania.
North entered the matchup missing standout midfielder Ellie Carney, who is out for the season with a foot injury. Carney was expected to be a major part of the returning dynamic midfield unit alongside captains Olivia Esposito and Catherine McBride, making her absence a significant challenge for the team.
Despite that setback, North battled all game in a true back-and-forth contest against an outstanding Wildcats’ squad that never stopped competing.
Leading the way was captain Catherine McBride, who delivered a dominant performance with 9 goals, including the dramatic overtime game-winner, along with 1 assist, 6 ground balls, and 11 draw controls.
Esposito controlled critical possessions on the draw circle, contributing 2 draw controls, 1 goal, 1 assist, and 3 ground balls, while providing leadership throughout the game.
Captain Gabby Mann added 1 goal, 1 assist, and 2 ground balls, continuing to make key plays in important moments.
Additional scoring came from Addison Deppi (1 G, 2 GB) and Stella Allain (1 G).
Players stepping into larger midfield roles because of Carney’s injury also made major contributions, with Clara Altier picking up 3 ground balls and 2 draw controls, while Isabel Wielehowski had 4 ground balls and 2 draw controls.
In goal, Gigi LeDonni and the entire defensive unit did an outstanding job containing a dangerous OJR offense, making key stops and defensive stands when the game was on the line.
This was a complete team win against one of Pennsylvania’s premier programs — showing resilience, leadership, and depth early in the season.
