COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 8, NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 4
Anna Lehman scored six goals in a stellar offensive showing, but it was the performance of goalie Margaret D’Auria that may have been the difference in the game.
“Margaret has been just outstanding the last three days,” coach Krista Dayton-Ventresca said. “At Bayard Rustin, we lost 13-3, and yesterday against Mount St. Joseph we lost 13-6, and in both of those games – of the 50 minutes we played, they must have had the ball in our defensive end 40 of the minutes, if not more.
“Rustin had 35 shots and they only scored 13 goals, so her save percentage was outstanding. They were a well put-together team. Against Mount St. Joseph, she saved 13. Today they had 23 shots, and she saved 19 of them. She literally kept us in the game today. She’s just been stellar.”
Adding single goals for the Indians were Anna Pizza and Gabby Shepherd. Jacklyn Walstrum had an assist.
The Indians led 4-2 at halftime and doubled that in the second half.
“My defense and midfielders were just so tired today,” Dayton-Ventresca said. “They were mentally and physically exhausted. We have to find an answer on the offensive end.”
The Indians (1-2) are without Claire Jarema, who is out for the season with an injury.

“The attack was patient and confident and executed our plays. This was Pennridge Lax and an entire team win.”
