It’s an imposing lineup to open a lacrosse season, and although the Cardinals closed the stretch against those three opponents with their third loss in as many games, coach Dee Cross found a silver lining.
“I feel like we just went through the gauntlet of tough teams to start our season,” the UD coach said. “Hopefully, it will make us tougher when we start our league games.”
The Flying Cardinals played the Cougars tough in the first half and trailed by just an 8-5 score at halftime, but the second half belonged to the Cougars.
Senior Jenn McCarry and freshman Aditi Foster each finished with a hat trick. Foster also had one assist. Tess Reardon added a single goal.
Riley Brady recorded nine saves in goal for the Flying Cardinals.
